Fix setting of RUSTC_SYSROOT by redirecting type's stdout 
"type $RUSTC" outputs "/usr/bin/rustc is /usr/bin/rustc", so this is
included in the value of RUSTC_SYSROOT, causing the debugger to run with
invalid arguments:

    gdb --directory=/usr/bin/rustc is /usr/bin/rustc /usr/lib/rustlib/etc -iex add-auto-load-safe-path /usr/bin/rustc is /usr/bin/rustc /usr/lib/rustlib/etc ...

Since type is only being used for the return code, there's no need to
capture it's output.
