Convert the `struct attr`->ipv6_ecommunity to use
accessor functions. We'll be able to reduce memory
usage in the `struct bgp_attr` by doing this.

Add an accessor for the bgp_attr.pmsi_tnl_type to allow
us to abstract where it is. Every attribute is paying
the price of this bit of data as part of `struct bgp_attr`
In the future we'll move it elsewhere.

DF (Designated forwarder) election is used for picking a single
BUM-traffic forwarded per-ES. RFC7432 specifies a mechanism called
service carving for DF election. However that mechanism has many
disadvantages -
1. LBs poorly.
2. Doesn't allow for a controlled failover needed in upgrade
scenarios.
3. Not easy to hw accelerate.
To fix the poor performance of service carving alternate DF mechanisms
have been proposed via the following drafts -
draft-ietf-bess-evpn-df-election-framework
draft-ietf-bess-evpn-pref-df
This commit adds support for the pref-df election mechanism which
is used as the default. Other mechanisms including service-carving
may be added later.
In this mechanism one switch on an ES is elected as DF based on the
preference value; higher preference wins with IP address acting
as the tie-breaker (lower-IP wins if pref value is the same).

Learned BGP routes from 2.2.2.2 are mapped to the SR-TE Policy
which is uniquely determined by the BGP nexthop (2.2.2.2 in this

rfc 5701 is supported. it is possible to configure in bgp vpn, a list of
route target with ipv6 external communities to import. it is to be noted
that this ipv6 external community has been developed only for matching a
bgp flowspec update with same ipv6 ext commmunity.
adding to this, draft-ietf-idr-flow-spec-v6-09 is implemented regarding
the redirect ipv6 option.
Practically, under bgp vpn, under ipv6 unicast, it is possible to
configure : [no] rt6 redirect import <IPV6>:<AS> values.
An incoming bgp update with fs ipv6 and that option matching a bgp vrf,
will be imported in that bgp vrf.

A new proxy flag has been added to the already existing NA extended
community to allow proxy advertisment of a local host by a VTEP that is
yet to indpendently establish local reachability.
Reference: draft-rbickhart-evpn-ip-mac-proxy-adv
The extendend mac-mobility sequence number needs to be synced across
the ES peers. However we cannot let a ES-peer path win over a local
path on the same ES. To accomplish that some parameters such as the
MM seq number are bubbled up from the non-best path to the local path.
This mechanism is explained further in the path-selection patch.

Add ESI as an inline attribute field along with the other EVPN
attributes. This may be re-worked when the rest of the EVPN
attributes find a new home.
Some cleanup has been done to get rid of stale/unused references
to ESI. And also to consolidate duplicate definitions of ES ID
types.

Multiple different issues causing mostly UAFs but maybe other more
subtle things.
- Cluster lists were the only attributes whose pointers were not being
NULL'd when freed, resulting in heap UAF
- When performing an insert into the cluster hash, our temporary struct
used for hash_get() was inconsistent with our hash keying and
comparison functions. In the case of a zero length cluster list, the
->length field is 0 and the ->list field is NULL. When performing an
insert, we set the ->list field regardless of whether the length is 0.
This resulted in the two cluster lists hashing equal but not comparing
equal. Later, when removing one of them from the hash before freeing
it, because the key matched and the comparison succeeded (because it
was set to NULL *after* the search but *before* inserting into the
hash) we would sometimes release the duplicated copy of the struct,
and then free the one that remained in the hash table. Later accesses
constitute UAF. This is fixed by making sure the fields used for the
existence check match what is actually inserted into the hash when
that check fails.
This patch also makes cluster_unintern static, because it should be.

When announcing ourselves as the next hop (e.g., to EBGP peers), if the
best path has the link bandwidth extended community and it is transitive,
change the value of the link bandwidth to the cumulative downstream
bandwidth (sum of the link bandwidths of all our multipaths) as this
makes the most sense. It is also implied by
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-mohanty-bess-ebgp-dmz. Of course, do
not override the link bandwidth if it has been specified by policy.
Note: Transitive extended communities will be automatically passed along
to EBGP peers; this commit is updating the value that is announced to
something that is the most appropriate.

bgpd already supports BGP Prefix-SID path attribute and
there are some sub-types of Prefix-SID path attribute.
This commits makes bgpd to support additional sub-types.
sub-Type-4 and sub-Type-5 for construct the VPNv4 SRv6 backend
with vpnv4-unicast address family.
This path attributes is already supported by Ciscos IOS-XR and NX-OS.
Prefix-SID sub-Type-4 and sub-Type-5 is defined on following
IETF-drafts.

Guess what - for a bounds check to work, it has to happen *before* you
read the data. We were trusting the attribute field received in a prefix
SID attribute and then checking if it was correct afterwards, but if was
wrong we'd crash before that.
This fixes the problem, and adds additional paranoid bounds checks.

Problem statement:
When IPv4/IPv6 prefixes are received in BGP, bgp_update function registers the
nexthop of the route with nexthop tracking module. The BGP route is marked as
valid only if the nexthop is resolved.
Even for EVPN RT-5, route should be marked as valid only if the the nexthop is
resolvable.
Code changes:
1. Add nexthop of EVPN RT-5 for nexthop tracking. Route will be marked as valid
only if the nexthop is resolved.
2. Only the valid EVPN routes are imported to the vrf.
3. When nht update is received in BGP, make sure that the EVPN routes are
imported/unimported based on the route becomes valid/invalid.
Testcases:
1. At rtr-1, advertise EVPN RT-5 with a nexthop 10.100.0.2.
10.100.0.2 is resolved at rtr-2 in default vrf.
At rtr-2, remote EVPN RT-5 should be marked as valid and should be imported into
vrfs.
2. Make the nexthop 10.100.0.2 unreachable at rtr-2
Remote EVPN RT-5 should be marked as invalid and should be unimported from the
vrfs. As this code change deals with EVPN type-5 routes only, other EVPN routes
should be valid.
3. At rtr-2, add a static route to make nexthop 10.100.0.2 reachable.
EVPN RT-5 should again become valid and should be imported into the vrfs.

This commit make bgpd to skip and ignore unsupported
sub-type of PREFIX_SID. (especially new defined sub-type)
Current bgpd can't parase unsupported sub-type of PREFIX_SID.
PREFIX_SID is drafted on draft-ietf-idr-bgp-prefix-sid-27.
There are already new sub-type drafted on
draft-dawra-idr-srv6-vpn-05. (Type5,6 is new defined.)

It doesn't make much sense for a hash function to modify its argument,
so const the hash input.
BGP does it in a couple places, those cast away the const. Not great but
not any worse than it was.

EVPN ND ext community support NA flag R-bit, to have proxy ND.
Set R-bit in EVPN NA if a given router is default gateway or there is a
local
router attached, which can be determine based on local neighbor entry.
Implement BGP ext community attribute to generate and parse R-bit and
pass along zebra to program neigh entry in kernel.
Upon receiving MAC/IP update with community type 0x06 and sub_type 0x08,
pass the R-bit to zebra to program neigh entry.
Set NTF_ROUTER in neigh entry and inform kernel to do proxy NA for EVPN.

Connected routes redistributed into BGP as well as IPv4 routes with IPv6
link-local next hops (RFC 5549) need information about the associated
interface in BGP if they are candidates to be leaked into another VRF. In
the absence of route leaking, this was not necessary. Introduce the
appropriate mechanism and ensure this is used during route install (in
the target VRF).

Received PMSI tunnel attributes (in EVPN type-3 route) were not recognized.
Parse them and display the tunnel type when looking at routes. Note that
the only tunnel type currently supported is ingress replication (IR). A
warning message will be logged if the received tunnel type is something
else, but the attribute is otherwise ignored.

When doing symmetric routing,
EVPN type-2 (MACIP) routes need to be advertised with two labels (VNIs)
the first being the L2 VNI (identifying the VLAN) and
the second being the L3 VNI (identifying the VRF).
The receive processing needs to handle one or two labels too.

So we have the ability to apply speculative route-maps to
neighbor display to see what the changes would look like
via some show commands. When we do this we make a
shallow copy of the attr data structure and then pass
it around for applying the routemap. After we've applied
this route-map and displayed it we really need to clean
up memory that the route-map application applied.

This issue was discovered on a live session with an extremely
old cisco 7206VXR router running 12.2(33)SRE4. The sending router
is sending us an empty NLRI that is MP_REACH. From RFC
exploration(thanks Russ!) it appears that this was
considered a 'valid' way to send EOR.
Following discussion decided that we should treat
this situation as a EOR marker instead of bringing
down the session.
Applying this fix on the FRR router seeing this issue
allows it to continue it's peering relationship with
the ASR. Since this is a point fix I do not see
a high likelihood of further fallout.

bgp_attr_deep_dup is based on a misunderstanding of how route-maps work.
They never change actual data, just pointers & fields in "struct attr".
The correct thing to do is copy struct attr and call bgp_attr_flush()
afterwards.

This attempt at optimization has cost us more than a week's worth of
time on several people hunting down the subtle bug that it was missing

Variably-sized struct tails are done as [0], not [1]. The latter
triggers compiler warnings and mis-sizes "sizeof(struct) + n"

Most of the attributes in 'struct attr_extra' allow for
the more interesting cases of using bgp. The extra
overhead of managing it will induce errors as we add
more attributes and the extra memory overhead is
negligible on anything but full bgp feeds.
Additionally this greatly simplifies the code for
the handling of data.

- All ipv4 labeled-unicast routes are now installed in the ipv4 unicast
table. This allows us to do things like take routes from an ipv4
unicast peer, allocate a label for them and TX them to a ipv4
labeled-unicast peer. We can do the opposite where we take routes from
a labeled-unicast peer, remove the label and advertise them to an ipv4
unicast peer.
- Multipath over a labeled route and non-labeled route is not allowed.
- You cannot activate a peer for both 'ipv4 unicast' and 'ipv4
labeled-unicast'
- The 'tag' variable was overloaded for zebra's route tag feature as
well as the mpls label. I added a 'mpls_label_t mpls' variable to
avoid this. This is much cleaner but resulted in touching a lot of
code.

Added bgp_nexthop_afi() to have one place that determines what the
Nexthop AFI is for bgp_packet_mpattr_start()
The FSF's address changed, and we had a mixture of comment styles for
the GPL file header. (The style with * at the beginning won out with
580 to 141 in existing files.)

header, e.g. whether it says "Zebra", "Quagga", "FRR", or nothing.

The initial implementation was against draft-keyupate-idr-bgp-prefix-sid-02
This updates our label-index implementation up to draft-ietf-idr-bgp-prefix-sid-05
- changed BGP_ATTR_LABEL_INDEX to BGP_ATTR_PREFIX_SID
- since there are multiple TLVs in BGP_ATTR_PREFIX_SID you can no longer
rely on that flag to know if there is a label-index for the path. I
changed bgp_attr_extra_new() to init the label_index to
BGP_INVALID_LABEL_INDEX
- put some placeholder code in for the other two TLVs (IPv6 and
Originator SRGB)
Apparently u_int64_t is not available( or we don't pull the
right headers in for solaris based systems).

With the some current bgp drafts the Attribute number has
surpassed 32. Which is a bit unfortunate in that we keep
track of the attributes via a bitfield based on the attribute #.
For the moment since I am not aware of Attribute #'s being
greater than 64, convert the flag to 64 bit and allow the
bit shifting to know about it.

Implement BGP Prefix-SID IETF draft to be able to signal a labeled-unicast
prefix with a label index (segment ID). This makes it easier to deploy
global MPLS labels with BGP, even without other aspects of Segment Routing
implemented.

This patch introduces the ability to make route type 5 message
when EVPN is enabled. Picked up paramters are collected from the
bgp extra attribute structure and are the ESI, the ethernet tag
information. In addition to this, nexthop attribute is collected too.

BGP Large Communities are a novel way to signal information between
networks. An example of a Large Community is: "2914:65400:38016". Large
BGP Communities are composed of three 4-byte integers, separated by a
colon. This is easy to remember and accommodates advanced routing
policies in relation to 4-Byte ASNs.

This feature adds an L3 & L2 VPN application that makes use of the VPN
and Encap SAFIs. This code is currently used to support IETF NVO3 style
operation. In NVO3 terminology it provides the Network Virtualization
Authority (NVA) and the ability to import/export IP prefixes and MAC
addresses from Network Virtualization Edges (NVEs). The code supports
per-NVE tables.
The NVE-NVA protocol used to communicate routing and Ethernet / Layer 2
(L2) forwarding information between NVAs and NVEs is referred to as the
Remote Forwarder Protocol (RFP). OpenFlow is an example RFP. For
general background on NVO3 and RFP concepts see [1]. For information on
Openflow see [2].
RFPs are integrated with BGP via the RF API contained in the new "rfapi"
BGP sub-directory. Currently, only a simple example RFP is included in
Quagga. Developers may use this example as a starting point to integrate
Quagga with an RFP of their choosing, e.g., OpenFlow. The RFAPI code
also supports the ability import/export of routing information between
VNC and customer edge routers (CEs) operating within a virtual
network. Import/export may take place between BGP views or to the
default zebera VRF.
BGP, with IP VPNs and Tunnel Encapsulation, is used to distribute VPN
information between NVAs. BGP based IP VPN support is defined in
RFC4364, BGP/MPLS IP Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and RFC4659,
BGP-MPLS IP Virtual Private Network (VPN) Extension for IPv6 VPN . Use
of both the Encapsulation Subsequent Address Family Identifier (SAFI)
and the Tunnel Encapsulation Attribute, RFC5512, The BGP Encapsulation
Subsequent Address Family Identifier (SAFI) and the BGP Tunnel
Encapsulation Attribute, are supported. MAC address distribution does
not follow any standard BGB encoding, although it was inspired by the
early IETF EVPN concepts.
The feature is conditionally compiled and disabled by default.
Use the --enable-bgp-vnc configure option to enable.

There are cases where customers desire the ability to override the
default behavior of installing ipv6 prefixes with a link-local next-hop
if both a link-local and global ipv6 next-op is present in the bgp table.
This fix provides this ability and will allow the global to be used as the
next-hop. This also retains the ability to manually set the ipv6 next-hop
global value as before, and if so, this manual entry will be used for the
next-hop.

* ANVL testing by Martin Winter threw up a crash in bgpd in aspath_dup
called from bgp_packet_attribute, if attr->aspath was NULL, on an IPv6
UPDATE.
This root cause is that the checks for well-known, mandatory attributes
were being applied only if an UPDATE contained the IPv4 NLRI and the
peer was configured for v4/unicast (i.e. not deconfigured). This is
something inherited from GNU Zebra, and never noticed before.
* bgp_attr.c: (bgp_attr_parse) Move the well-known mandatory attribute
check to here, so that it can be run immediately after all attributes
are parsed, and before any further processing of attributes that might
assume the existence of WK/M attributes (e.g. AS4-Path).
(bgp_attr_munge_as4_attrs) Missing AS_PATH shouldn't happen here anymore,
but retain a check anyway for robustness - it's definitely a hard error
though.
* bgp_attr.h: (bgp_attr_check) No longer needs to be exported, make static.
* bgp_packet.c: (bgp_update_receive) Responsibility for well-known check
now in bgp_attr_parse.

This implements addpath TX with the first feature to use it
being "neighbor x.x.x.x addpath-tx-all-paths".
One change to show output is 'show ip bgp x.x.x.x'. If no addpath-tx
features are configured for any peers then everything looks the same
as it is today in that "Advertised to" is at the top and refers to
which peers the bestpath was advertise to.

dynamic update groups functionality. Ensure this is handled
correctly. Also, the route-map can separately set different
nexthops - IPv4, IPv6 global or IPv6 link-local; treat these
separately.
This adds support for BGP RFC 5549 (Extended Next Hop Encoding capability)
* send and receive of the capability
* processing of IPv4->IPv6 next-hops
* for resolving these IPv6 next-hops, itsworks with the current
next-hop-tracking support
* added a new message type between BGP and Zebra for such route
install/uninstall
* zserv side of changes to process IPv4 prefix ->IPv6 next-hops
* required show command changes for IPv4 prefix having IPv6 next-hops
Few points to note about the implementation:
* It does an implicit next-hop-self when a [IPv4 prefix -> IPv6 LL next-hop]
is to be considered for advertisement to IPv4 peering (or IPv6 peering
without Extended next-hop capability negotiated)
* Currently feature is off by default, enable it by configuring
'neighbor <> capability extended-nexthop'
* Current support is for IPv4 Unicast prefixes only.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This patch alone isn't enough to have IPv4->IPv6 routes installed into
the kernel. A separate patch is needed for that to work for the netlink
interface.

is used as the routing protocol, this feature is required to ensure that
VIP announcements can be made from anywhere the operator sees fit.

This patch implements the 'update-groups' functionality in BGP. This is a
function that can significantly improve BGP performance for Update generation
and resultant network convergence. BGP Updates are formed for "groups" of
peers and then replicated and sent out to each peer rather than being formed
for each peer. Thus major BGP operations related to outbound policy
application, adj-out maintenance and actual Update packet formation
are optimized.
BGP update-groups dynamically groups peers together based on configuration
as well as run-time criteria. Thus, it is more flexible than update-formation
based on peer-groups, which relies on operator configuration.
[Note that peer-group based update formation has been introduced into BGP by
Cumulus but is currently intended only for specific releases.]

BGP: Add match interface support to BGP route-map.
Currently, BGP route maps don't support interface match. This is a problem
for commands such as redistribite connected that cannot exclude routes from
specific interfaces (such as mgmt interfaces).
COMMAND:
table-map <route-map-name>
DESCRIPTION:
This feature is used to apply a route-map on route updates from BGP to Zebra.
All the applicable match operations are allowed, such as match on prefix,
next-hop, communities, etc. Set operations for this attach-point are limited
to metric and next-hop only. Any operation of this feature does not affect
BGPs internal RIB.
Supported for ipv4 and ipv6 address families. It works on multi-paths as well,
however, metric setting is based on the best-path only.
IMPLEMENTATION NOTES:
The route-map application at this point is not supposed to modify any of BGP
route's attributes (anything in bgp_info for that matter). To achieve that,
creating a copy of the bgp_attr was inevitable. Implementation tries to keep
the memory footprint low, code comments do point out the rationale behind a
few choices made.
bgp_zebra_announce() was already a big routine, adding this feature would
extend it further. Patch has created a few smaller routines/macros whereever
possible to keep the size of the routine in check without compromising on the
readability of the code/flow inside this routine.
For updating a partially filtered route (with its nexthops), BGP to Zebra
replacement semantic of the next-hops serves the purpose well. However, with
this patch there could be some redundant withdraws each time BGP announces a
route thats (all the nexthops) gets denied by the route-map application.
Handling of this case could be optimized by keeping state with the prefix and
the nexthops in BGP. The patch doesn't optimizing that case, as even with the
redundant withdraws the total number of updates to zebra are still be capped
by the total number of routes in the table.

A fat tree topology running IBGP gets into two issues with anycast address
routing. Consider the following topology:

Let's remind ourselves of BGP decision process steps:
1. Highest Local Preference
2. Shortest AS Path Length
3. Lowest Origin Type
4. Lowest MED (Multi-Exit Discriminator)
5. Prefer External to Internal
6. Closest Egress (Lowest IGP Distance)
7. Tie Breaking (Lowest-Router-ID)
8. Tie Breaking (Lowest-cluster-list length)
9. Tie Breaking (Lowest-neighbor-address)
Without any policies, steps 1-6 will almost always evaluate identically for
all paths received on any router in the above topology. Let's assume that
the router-ids follow the following inequality: R1 < R2 < R5 < R6. Owing to
the 7th step above, all routers will now choose R1's path as the best. This
is undesirable. As an example, traffic from S to 10/8 will follow the path
S -> R6 -> R7 -> R9 -> R4 -> R2 -> 10/8 instead of S -> R6 -> R7 -> R5 -> 10/8.
Furthermore, once R7 (& R8) chooses R1's path as the best, it would withdraw
its path learned through (R5, R6) from (R9, R10). This leads to inefficient
load balancing - e.g. R9 can't do ECMP across all available egresses -
(R1, R2, R5).
The patch addresses these issues by noting that that cluster list is always
carried along with the routes and its length is a good indicator of IBGP
hops. It thus makes sense to compare that as an extension to metric after
step 6. That automatically ensures correct multipath computation.
Unfortunately a partial deployment of this in a generic topology (note:
fat-tree/clos topologies work fine) may lead to potential loops. It needs
to be looked into.

ISSUE:
Currently, for non-ipv4-unicast address families where prefixes are
encoded in MP_REACH/MP_UNREACH attributes, BGP ends up sending one
prefix per UPDATE message. This is quite inefficient. The patch
addresses the issue.
PATCH:
We introduce a scratch buffer in the peer structure that stores the
MP_REACH/MP_UNREACH attributes for non-ipv4-unicast families. This
enables us to encode multiple prefixes. In the end, the two buffers
are merged to create the UPDATE packet.
