Byte mask for channel-1 of stream-1 is not getting enabled and this
causes failures during AMX use cases. This happens because the byte
map value 0 matches the byte map array and put() callback returns
without enabling the corresponding bits in the byte mask.
AMX supports 4 input streams and each stream can take a maximum of
16 channels. Each byte in the output frame is uniquely mapped to a
byte in one of these 4 inputs. This mapping is done with the help of
byte map array via user space control setting. The byte map array
size in the driver is 16 and each array element is of size 4 bytes.
This corresponds to 64 byte map values.
Each byte in the byte map array can have any value between 0 to 255
to enable the corresponding bits in the byte mask. The value 256 is
used as a way to disable the byte map. However the byte map array
element cannot store this value. The put() callback disables the byte
mask for 256 value and byte map value is reset to 0 for this case.
This causes problems during subsequent runs since put() callback,
for value of 0, just returns without enabling the byte mask. In short,
the problem is coming because 0 and 256 control values are stored as
0 in the byte map array.
Right now fix the put() callback by actually looking at the byte mask
array state to identify if any change is needed and update the fields
accordingly. The get() callback needs an update as well to return the
correct control value that user has set before. Note that when user
sets 256, the value is stored as 0 and byte mask is disabled. So byte
mask state is used to either return 256 or the value from byte map
array.
Given above, this looks bit complicated and all this happens because
the byte map array is tightly packed and cannot actually store the 256
value. Right now the priority is to fix the existing failure and a TODO
item is put to improve this logic.

Sample rate conversions for rates greater than 48kHz are found to be
failing. It means x->y conversions fail when either x or y is greater
than 48kHz.
This happens because, tegra210_sfc_rate_to_idx() returns incorrect
index for rates greater than 48kHz. This actually depends on the
tegra210_sfc_rates[] array and it is not in sync with frequency
values of SFC TX/RX register. To be precise, 64kHz entry is missing
in above array defined in the driver. Due to this wrong index is
returned and this results in incorrect programming of coefficients.
To fix this, align the tegra210_sfc_rates[] array with SFC register
specification and thus add 64kHz entry to it. Also, the coefficient
table is updated to reflect that none of the conversions are supported
for 64kHz.

Commit 3ed2b549b3 ("ALSA: pcm: fix wait_time calculations") corrected
the PCM wait_time calculations and in doing so reduced the calculated
wait_time. This exposed an issue with the Tegra Master Volume Control
(MVC) device where the reduced wait_time caused the MVC to fail. For now
fix this by setting the default wait_time for Tegra to be 500ms.

clk_get_rate() returns an unsigned long, so there is no point in storing it
in a long, and test for negative values.
So, turn 'parent_rate' into an unsigned long, simplify the sanity check,
the error message and the return value, in case of error (i.e. 0).
Doing so also turns 'i' and 'valid_rates' into unsigned long, but it is
fine and harmless.

This quirk is used for cases when there is GPIO which detects
any type of 3.5 Jack insertion and actual type of jack is defined
by other GPIO. 3.5 Jack GPIO generates interrupt and MIC GPIO

It is preferred to use typed property access functions (i.e.
of_property_read_<type> functions) rather than low-level
of_get_property/of_find_property functions for reading properties. As

MBDRC supports different modes of operation. There is no configuration
required for bypass mode. The hw_params() call does not filter bypass
mode correctly and it leads to following Smatch static checker warning:

Fix this condition by using proper mode mask and just return for bypass
mode.

I2S reset failures are seen on Tegra210 and later platforms. This indicates
absence of I2S bit clock, which is required to perform the reset operation.
Following failures are seen with I2S based tests on Tegra210 and later:

The commit d92ad6633f ("ASoC: tegra: Update to use set_fmt_new callback")
regressed I2S functionality on Tegra platforms. Basically it flipped clock
provider and consumer DAI formats. This configures Tegra I2S in consumer
mode by default now and there is none to provide bit clock during loopback
tests. The external codec based tests also fail because both Tegra I2S and
codec I2S get configured in consumer mode.
ASoC core flips the DAI format before calling set_fmt() for CPU DAIs. This
is negated in above commit. Fix this by swapping SND_SOC_DAIFMT_BC_FC and
SND_SOC_DAIFMT_BP_FP switch cases.

Currently the set_fmt callback always passes clock provider/consumer
with respect to the CODEC. This made sense when the framework was
directly broken down into platforms and CODECs. However, as things
are now broken down into components which can be connected as either
the CPU or CODEC side of a DAI link it simplifies things if each
side of the link is just told if it is provider or consumer of the
clocks. Making this change allows us to remove one of the last parts
of the ASoC core that needs to know if a driver is a CODEC driver,
where it flips the clock format specifier if a CODEC driver is used on
the CPU side of a DAI link, as well as just being conceptually more
consistent with componentisation.
The basic idea of this patch chain is to change the set_fmt callback
from specifying if the CODEC is provider/consumer into directly
specifying if the component is provider/consumer. To do this we add
some new defines, and then to preserve bisectability, the migration is
done by adding a new callback, converting over all existing CPU side
drivers, converting the core, and then finally reverting back to the
old callback.
Converting the platform drivers makes sense as the existing defines
are from the perspective of the CODEC and there are more CODEC drivers
than platform drivers.
Obviously a fair amount of this patch chain I was only able to build
test, so any testing that can be done would be greatly appreciated.
Now the core has been migrated across to the new direct clock
specification we can move the drivers back to the normal set_fmt
callback.

path as per the need. The routing controls can be used to setup the audio
path with OPE similar to the already existing routes. The support is added

The Output Processing Engine (OPE) is one of the AHUB client. It has
PEQ (Parametric Equalizer) and MBDRC (Multi Band Dynamic Range Compressor)
sub blocks for data processing. The PEQ block gets samples from the MBDRC
block.
This patch registers OPE driver with ASoC framework. The component driver
exposes DAPM widgets, routes and kcontrols for the device. The DAI driver
exposes OPE interfaces, which can be used to connect different components
in the ASoC layer. Makefile and Kconfig support is added to allow build
the driver.

snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins,
but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins
were not going to be added.
This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to
snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be
added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a
jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol.

Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter (ASRC) converts the sampling frequency
of the input signal from one frequency to another. It can handle over a
wide range of sample rate ratios (freq_in/freq_out) from 1:24 to 24:1.
ASRC has two modes of operation. One where ratio can be programmed in SW
and the other where it gets the information from ratio estimator module.
The latter mode above can help address the cases where the sample rate is
not known at the stream set up time or is potentially time varying.
In addition, the ratio between input and output sample rate can be any
arbitrary number and the input and output clocks could be derived from
asynchronous clocks.
This patch registers ASRC driver with ASoC framework. The component driver

exposes ASRC interfaces, which can be used to connect different components

Support new nvidia,fixed-parent-rate device-tree property which instructs
I2S that board wants parent clock rate to stay at a fixed rate. This allows
to play audio over S/PDIF and I2S simultaneously. The root of the problem
is that audio components on Tegra share the same audio PLL, and thus, only
a subset of rates can be supported if we want to play audio simultaneously.
Filter out audio rates that don't match parent clock rate if device-tree
has the nvidia,fixed-parent-rate property.

SPDIF and other SoC components share audio PLL on Tegra, thus only one
component may set the desired base clock rate. This creates problem for
HDMI audio because it uses SPDIF and audio may not work if SPDIF's clock
doesn't exactly match standard audio rate since some receivers may reject
audio in that case. Filter out audio rates which SPDIF output can't
support, assuming that other components won't change rate at runtime.

The MVC module has a per channel control bit, based on which it decides
to apply channel specific volume/mute settings. When per channel control
bit is enabled (which is the default HW configuration), all MVC channel
volume/mute can be independently controlled. If the control is disabled,
channel-0 volume/mute setting is applied by HW to all remaining channels.
Thus add support to leverage this HW feature by exposing master controls
for volume/mute.
With this, now there are per channel and master volume/mute controls.
Users need to just use controls which are suitable for their applications.
The per channel control enable/disable is mananged in driver and hidden
from users, so that they need to just worry about respective volume/mute
controls.

After successful application of volume/mute settings via mixer control
put calls, the control returns without balancing the runtime PM count.
This makes device to be always runtime active. Fix this by allowing
control to reach pm_runtime_put() call.

The kcontrol put callback is expected to return 1 when there is change
in HW or when the update is acknowledged by driver. This would ensure
that change notifications are sent to subscribed applications. Filter
out duplicate updates in AMX driver.

The device-tree of AC97 codecs need to be parsed differently from I2S
codecs, plus codec device may need to be created. This was missed by the
patch that unified machine drivers into a single driver, fix it. It should
restore audio on Toradex Colibri board.

The struct tegra_machine_snd_ops is only assigned to the ops field in the
snd_soc_dai_link struct which is a pointer to const struct snd_soc_ops.
Make it const to allow the compiler to put it in read-only memory.

The Mixer supports mixing of up to ten 7.1 audio input streams and
generate five outputs (each of which can be any combination of the
ten input streams)
This patch registers Mixer driver with ASoC framework. The component
driver exposes DAPM widgets, routes and kcontrols for the device.
The DAI driver exposes Mixer interfaces, which can be used to connect
different components in the ASoC layer. Makefile and Kconfig support
is added to allow build the driver. It can be enabled in the DT via
"nvidia,tegra210-amixer" compatible binding.

The Audio Demultiplexer (ADX) block takes an input stream with up to
16 channels and demultiplexes it into four output streams of up to 16
channels each. A byte RAM helps to form output frames by any combination
of bytes from the input frame. Its design is identical to that of byte
RAM in the AMX except that the data flow direction is reversed.
This patch registers ADX driver with ASoC framework. The component driver
exposes DAPM widgets, routes and kcontrols for the device. The DAI driver
exposes ADX interfaces, which can be used to connect different components
in the ASoC layer. Makefile and Kconfig support is added to allow build
the driver. It can be enabled in the DT via "nvidia,tegra210-adx"
compatible binding.
