After refactoring the code, ufs_renesas_reg_control() is no longer needed,
because all operations are simple and can be called directly. Remove the
ufs_renesas_reg_control() helper function, and call udelay() directly.

Add support for returning read register values from
ufs_renesas_reg_control(), so ufs_renesas_set_phy() can use the existing

Since initialization of the UFS controller on R-Car S4-8 ES1.0 requires
only static values, the driver uses initialization data stored in the const
ufs_param[] array. However, other UFS controller variants (R-Car S4-8
ES1.2) require dynamic values, like those obtained from E-FUSE. Refactor
the initialization code to prepare for this.
This also reduces kernel size by almost 30 KiB.

During clock scaling, Write Booster is toggled on or off based on whether
the clock is scaled up or down. However, with OPP V2 powered multi-level
gear scaling, the gear can be scaled amongst multiple gear speeds, e.g., it
may scale down from G5 to G4, or from G4 to G2. To provide flexibilities,
add a new field for clock scaling such that during clock scaling Write
Booster can be enabled or disabled based on gear speeds but not based on
scaling up or down.

When disabling clkscale via the clkscale_enable sysfs entry, UFS driver
shall perform scaling up once regardless. Check if scaling up is required
or not first to avoid repetitive work.

Add a vop to map UFS host controller clock frequencies to the corresponding
maximum supported UFS high speed gear speeds. During clock scaling, we can
map the target clock frequency, demanded by devfreq, to the maximum
supported gear speed, so that devfreq can scale the gear to the highest
gear speed supported at the target clock frequency, instead of just scaling
up/down the gear between the min and max gear speeds.

Instead of only two frequencies, if OPP V2 is used, the UFS devfreq clock
scaling may scale the clock among multiple frequencies. In the case of
scaling up, the devfreq may decide to scale the clock to an intermediate
freq based on load, but the clock scale up pre change operation uses
settings for the max clock freq unconditionally. Fix it by passing the
target_freq to clock scale up pre change so that the correct settings for
the target_freq can be used.
In the case of scaling down, the clock scale down post change operation is
doing fine, because it reads the actual clock rate to tell freq, but to
keep symmetry with clock scale up pre change operation, just use the
target_freq instead of reading clock rate.

up/down to vop clk_scale_notify() is not enough to cover the intermediate
clock freqs between the min and max freqs. Hence pass the target_freq,
which will be used in successive commits, to clk_scale_notify() to allow
the vop to perform corresponding configurations with regard to the clock
freqs.

Commit bb9850704c ("scsi: ufs: core: Honor runtime/system PM levels if
set by host controller drivers") introduced the check for setting default
PM levels only if the levels are uninitialized by the host controller
drivers. But it missed the fact that the levels could be initialized to 0
(UFS_PM_LVL_0) on purpose by the controller drivers. Even though none of
the drivers are doing so now, the logic should be fixed irrespectively.
So set the default levels unconditionally before calling ufshcd_hba_init()
API which initializes the controller drivers. It ensures that the
controller drivers could override the default levels if required.

ufshcd_is_ufs_dev_busy(), ufshcd_print_host_state() and
ufshcd_eh_timed_out() are used in both modes (legacy mode and MCQ mode).
hba->outstanding_reqs only represents the outstanding requests in legacy
mode. Hence, change hba->outstanding_reqs into scsi_host_busy(hba->host) in
these functions.

The UFS4.1 standard, released on January 8, 2025, added a new exception
event: HEALTH_CRITICAL, which notifies the host of a device's critical
health condition. This notification implies that the device is approaching
the end of its lifetime based on the amount of performed program/erase
cycles.
Once an EOL (End-of-Life) exception event is received, we increment a
designated member, which is exposed via a sysfs entry. This new entry, will
report the number of times a critical health event has been reported by a
UFS device.
To handle this new sysfs entry, userspace applications can use select(),
poll(), or epoll() to monitor changes in the critical_health attribute. The
kernel will call sysfs_notify() to signal changes, allowing the userspace
application to detect and respond to these changes efficiently.
The host can gain further insight into the specific issue by reading one of
the following attributes: bPreEOLInfo, bDeviceLifeTimeEstA,
bDeviceLifeTimeEstB, bWriteBoosterBufferLifeTimeEst, and
bRPMBLifeTimeEst. All those are available for reading via the driver's
sysfs entries or through an applicable utility. It is up to userspace to
read these attributes if needed.

To prevent keys from being compromised if an attacker acquires read
access to kernel memory, some inline encryption hardware can accept keys
which are wrapped by a per-boot hardware-internal key. This avoids
needing to keep the raw keys in kernel memory, without limiting the
number of keys that can be used. Such hardware also supports deriving a
"software secret" for cryptographic tasks that can't be handled by
inline encryption; this is needed for fscrypt to work properly.
To support this hardware, allow struct blk_crypto_key to represent a
hardware-wrapped key as an alternative to a raw key, and make drivers
set flags in struct blk_crypto_profile to indicate which types of keys
they support. Also add the ->derive_sw_secret() low-level operation,
which drivers supporting wrapped keys must implement.

By default, the UFS controller allocates a fixed number of RX and TX
engines statically. Consequently, when UFS reads are in progress, the TX
ICE engines remain idle, and vice versa. This leads to inefficient
utilization of RX and TX engines.
To address this limitation, enable the UFS shared ICE feature for Qualcomm
UFS V5.0 and above. This feature utilizes a pool of crypto cores for both
TX streams (UFS Write – Encryption) and RX streams (UFS Read –
Decryption). With this approach, crypto cores are dynamically allocated to
either the RX or TX stream as needed.

devm_blk_crypto_profile_init() registers a cleanup handler to run when
the associated (platform-) device is being released. For UFS, the
crypto private data and pointers are stored as part of the ufs_hba's
data structure 'struct ufs_hba::crypto_profile'. This structure is
allocated as part of the underlying ufshcd and therefore Scsi_host
allocation.
During driver release or during error handling in ufshcd_pltfrm_init(),
this structure is released as part of ufshcd_dealloc_host() before the
(platform-) device associated with the crypto call above is released.
Once this device is released, the crypto cleanup code will run, using
the just-released 'struct ufs_hba::crypto_profile'. This causes a
use-after-free situation:

To fix this use-after free, change ufshcd_alloc_host() to register a
devres action to automatically cleanup the underlying SCSI device on
ufshcd destruction, without requiring explicit calls to
ufshcd_dealloc_host(). This way:
* the crypto profile and all other ufs_hba-owned resources are
destroyed before SCSI (as they've been registered after)
* a memleak is plugged in tc-dwc-g210-pci.c remove() as a
side-effect
* EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL(ufshcd_dealloc_host) can be removed fully as
it's not needed anymore
* no future drivers using ufshcd_alloc_host() could ever forget
adding the cleanup

This commit addresses an issue where clk_gating.state is being toggled in
ufshcd_setup_clocks() even if clock gating is not allowed.
The fix is to add a check for hba->clk_gating.is_initialized before toggling
clk_gating.state in ufshcd_setup_clocks().
Since clk_gating.lock is now initialized unconditionally, it can no longer
lead to the spinlock being used before it is properly initialized, but
instead it is mostly for documentation purposes.

To fix this issue, ensure that the spinlock is only used after it has been

When block drivers or the core block code perform allocations with a
frozen queue, this could try to recurse into the block device to
reclaim memory and deadlock. Thus all allocations done by a process
that froze a queue need to be done without __GFP_IO and __GFP_FS.
Instead of tying to track all of them down, force a noio scope as
part of freezing the queue.
Note that nvme is a bit of a mess here due to the non-owner freezes,
and they will be addressed separately.

This commit simplifies the temperature exception event handling by removing
the ufshcd_temp_exception_event_handler() function and directly calling
ufs_hwmon_notify_event() in ufshcd_exception_event_handler().
The ufshcd_temp_exception_event_handler() function contained a placeholder
comment for platform vendors to add additional steps if required. However,
since its introduction a few years ago, no vendor has added any additional
steps. Therefore, the placeholder function is removed to streamline the
code.

The only queues that really can't support a scheduler are those that
do not have a gendisk associated with them, and thus can't be used for
non-passthrough commands. In addition to those null_blk can optionally
set the flag, which is a bad odd. Replace the null_blk usage with
BLK_MQ_F_NO_SCHED_BY_DEFAULT to keep the expected semantics and then
remove BLK_MQ_F_NO_SCHED as the non-disk queues never call into
elevator_init_mq or blk_register_queue which adds the sysfs attributes.

By default the UFS core is responsible for initializing the
blk_crypto_profile, but Qualcomm platforms have their own way of
programming and evicting crypto keys. So currently
ufs_hba_variant_ops::program_key is used to redirect control flow from
ufshcd_program_key(). This has worked until now, but it's a bit of a hack,
given that the key (and algorithm ID etc.) ends up being converted from
blk_crypto_key => ufs_crypto_cfg_entry => SCM call parameters, where the
intermediate ufs_crypto_cfg_entry step is unnecessary. Taking a similar
approach with the upcoming wrapped key support, the implementation of which
is similarly platform-specific, would require adding four new methods to
ufs_hba_variant_ops, changing program_key to take the struct
blk_crypto_key, and adding a new UFSHCD_CAP_* flag to indicate support for
wrapped keys.
This patch takes a different approach. It changes ufs-qcom to use the
existing UFSHCD_QUIRK_CUSTOM_CRYPTO_PROFILE which was recently added for
ufs-exynos. This allows it to override the full blk_crypto_profile,
eliminating the need for the existing ufs_hba_variant_ops::program_key and
the hooks that would have been needed for wrapped key support. It does
require a bit of duplicated code to read the crypto capability registers,
but it's worth the simplification in design with ufs-qcom and ufs-exynos
now using the same method to customize the crypto profile, and it makes it
much easier to add wrapped key support.

SM8550 and SM8650 SoCs doesn't support UFS PHY retention. So once these SoCs
reaches the low power state (CX power collapse) during system suspend, all
the PHY hardware state gets lost. This leads to the UFS resume failure:

With the default system suspend level of UFS_PM_LVL_3, the power domain for
UFS PHY needs to be kept always ON to retain the state. But this would
prevent these SoCs from reaching the CX power collapse state, leading to
poor power saving during system suspend.
So to fix this issue without affecting the power saving, set
'ufs_qcom_drvdata::no_phy_retention' to true which sets 'hba->spm_lvl' to
UFS_PM_LVL_5 to allow both the controller and device (in turn the PHY) to be
powered down during system suspend for these SoCs by default.

In those cases, it is necessary to call phy_power_off() and phy_exit() in
ufs_qcom_power_up_sequence() function to power off the PHY before calling
phy_init() and phy_power_on().
Case (1) is doing it via ufs_qcom_reinit_notify() callback, but case (2) is
not handled. So to satisfy both cases, call phy_power_off() and phy_exit()
if the phy_count is non-zero. And with this change, the reinit_notify()
callback is no longer needed.
This fixes the below UFS resume failure with spm_lvl = 5:

lrbp->compl_time_stamp_local_clock is set to zero after sending a sqe
but it is not updated after completing a cqe. Thus the printed
information in ufshcd_print_tr() will always be zero.
Update lrbp->cmpl_time_stamp_local_clock after completing a cqe.

This change is motivated by Bart's suggestion in [1], which enables to
further reduce the SCSI host lock usage in the UFS driver. The reason why
it makes sense, because although the legacy interrupt is disabled by some
but not all ufshcd_hba_stop() callers, it is safe to nest disable_irq()
calls as it checks the irq depth.

Rename .slave_alloc() into .sdev_init() and .slave_destroy() into
.sdev_destroy(). The new names make it clear that these are actions on
SCSI devices. Make this change in the SCSI core, SCSI drivers and also
in the ATA drivers. No functionality has been changed.
This patch has been created as follows:
* Change the text "slave_alloc" into "sdev_init" in all source files
except those in drivers/net/ and Documentation/.
* Change the text "slave_destroy" into "sdev_destroy" in all source
files except those in drivers/net/ and Documentation/.
* Rename lpfc_no_slave() into lpfc_no_sdev().
* Manually adjust whitespace where necessary to restore vertical
alignment (dc395x driver and include/linux/libata.h).

When the power mode change is successful but the power mode hasn't
actually changed, the post notification was missed. Similar to the
approach with hibernate/clock scale/hce enable, having pre/post
notifications in the same function will make it easier to maintain.
Additionally, supplement the description of power parameters for the
pwr_change_notify callback.

Introduce a new clock gating lock to serialize access to some of the clock
gating members instead of the host_lock.
While at it, simplify the code with the guard() macro and co for automatic
cleanup of the new lock. There are some explicit
spin_lock_irqsave()/spin_unlock_irqrestore() snaking instances I left
behind because I couldn't make heads or tails of it.
Additionally, move the trace_ufshcd_clk_gating() call from inside the
region protected by the lock as it doesn't needs protection.

During the remove stage of glue drivers, some of them are incrementing the
reference count using pm_runtime_get_sync(), before removing the ufshcd
using ufshcd_remove(). But they are not dropping that reference count after
ufshcd_remove() to balance the refcount.
So drop the reference count by calling pm_runtime_put_noidle() after
ufshcd_remove(). Since the behavior is applicable to all glue drivers, move
the PM handling to ufshcd_pltfrm_remove().

When the UFSHCD platform glue drivers are removed, runtime PM should be
disabled using pm_runtime_disable() to balance the enablement done in
ufshcd_pltfrm_init(). This is also reported by PM core when the glue driver
is removed and inserted again:
ufshcd-qcom 1d84000.ufshc: Unbalanced pm_runtime_enable!
So disable runtime PM using a new helper API ufshcd_pltfrm_remove(), that
also takes care of removing ufshcd. This helper should be called during the
remove() stage of glue drivers.

Currently, RTC work is only cancelled during __ufshcd_wl_suspend(). When
ufshcd is removed in ufshcd_remove(), RTC work is not cancelled. Due to

User layer applications can send UIC GET/SET commands via the BSG
framework, and if the user layer application sends a UIC SET command to the
PA_PWRMODE attribute, a power mode change shall be initiated in UniPro and
two interrupts shall be triggered if the power mode is successfully
changed, i.e., UIC Command Completion interrupt and UIC Power Mode
interrupt.
The current UFS BSG code calls ufshcd_send_uic_cmd() directly, with which
the second interrupt, i.e., UIC Power Mode interrupt, shall be treated as
unhandled interrupt. In addition, after the UIC command is completed, user
layer application has to poll UniPro and/or M-PHY state machine to confirm
the power mode change is finished.
Add a new wrapper function ufshcd_send_bsg_uic_cmd() and call it from
ufs_bsg_request() so that if a UIC SET command is targeting the PA_PWRMODE
attribute it can be redirected to ufshcd_uic_pwr_ctrl().

After commit 0edb555a65 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.
Convert all platform drivers below drivers/ufs to use .remove(), with
the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As
.remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done
by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer.

Some early UFSHCI 4.0 controllers support the UFSHCI 3.0 register set.
The UFSHCD_QUIRK_BROKEN_LSDBS_CAP quirk must be set for these controllers.
Commit b92e5937e3 ("scsi: ufs: core: Move code out of an if-statement")
changed the behavior for these controllers from working fine into
"ufshcd_add_scsi_host: failed to initialize (legacy doorbell mode not
supported)". Fix this by setting the "broken LSDBS" quirk for the
SM8650 development board.

Previously, ufs vops config_scsi_dev was removed because there were no
users. ufs-mediatek needs it to configure the queue flags for each LU
individually. Therefore, bring it back and customize the queue flag as
required.

the ufs-exynos driver, particularly for gs101 SoC.
Regarding cleanup we remove some unused phy attribute data that isn't
required when EXYNOS_UFS_OPT_SKIP_CONFIG_PHY_ATTR is not set.
Regarding bug fixes the check for EXYNOS_UFS_OPT_UFSPR_SECURE is moved
inside exynos_ufs_config_smu() which fixes a Serror in the resume path
for gs101.
Regarding feature enhancements:
* Gear 4 is enabled which has higher speeds and better power management.
* WriteBooster capability is enabled for gs101 which increases write
performance.
* Clock gating and hibern8 capabilities are enabled for gs101. This leads
to a significantly cooler phone when running the upstream kernel on
Pixel 6. Approximately 10 degrees cooler after 20 minutes at a shell
prompt.
* AXI bus on gs101 is correctly configured for write line unique transactions
* ACG is set to be controlled by UFS_ACG_DISABLE for gs101
Additionally in v3 I've added 2 minor cleanup patches from Tudor and also
an update to MAINTAINERS to add myself as a reviewer and the linux-samsung-soc
list.
Note: In v1 I mentioned the phy hibern8 series in [1] that is still under
discussion however further testing reveals hibern8 feature still works without
the additional UFS phy register writes done in [1]. So this series can be merged
as is and has no runtime dependencies on [1] to be functional.

The RTC update work involves runtime resuming the UFS controller. Hence,

Enable clock gating and hibern8 capabilities for gs101. This leads to a
significantly cooler phone when running the upstream kernel.
The exynos_ufs_post_hibern8() hook is also updated to remove the
UIC_CMD_DME_HIBER_EXIT code path as this causes a hang on gs101.
The code path is removed rather than re-factored as no other SoC in
ufs-exynos driver sets UFSHCD_CAP_HIBERN8_WITH_CLK_GATING
capability. Additionally until the previous commit the hibern8 callbacks
were broken anyway as they expected a bool.

HCI_IOP_ACG_DISABLE is an undocumented register in the TRM but the
downstream driver sets this register so we follow suit here.
The register is already 0 presumed to be set by the bootloader as the
comment downstream implies the reset state is 1. So whilst this is a nop
currently, it should protect us in case the bootloader behaviour ever
changes.

Currently just AXIDMA_RWDATA_BURST_LEN[3:0] field is set to 8 in
exynos_ufs_post_link() function.
To enable WLU transaction additionally we need to set Write Line Unique
enable [31], Write Line Unique Burst Length [30:27] and
AXIDMA_RWDATA_BURST_LEN[3:0].
To support WLU transaction on gs101, both burst length fields need to be
0x3. As all other SoCs expect the current value we update this in the
gs101_ufs_post_link() specific hook.

Factor out the common code into a new exynos_ufs_shareability() function
and provide a dedicated gs101_drv_init() hook.
This allows us to enable WriteBooster capability (UFSHCD_CAP_WB_EN) in a
way that doesn't effect other SoCs supported in this driver.
WriteBooster improves write speeds by enabling a pseudo SLC cache. Using
the 'fio seqwrite' test we can achieve speeds of 945MB/s with this
feature enabled (until the cache is exhausted) before dropping back to
~260MB/s (which are the speeds we see without the WriteBooster feature
enabled).
Assuming the UFSHCD_CAP_WB_EN capability is set by the host then
WriteBooster can also be enabled and disabled via sysfs so it is
possible for the system to only enable it when extra write performance
is required.

Remove the assignment of tx_dif_p_nsec as both users of
exynosauto_ufs_drv_init() function (exynosauto and gs101) set the
EXYNOS_UFS_OPT_SKIP_CONFIG_PHY_ATTR flag meaning that tx_dif_p_nsec has
no effect.
Additionally both users also set the samsung,sysreg dt property, meaning
the execution flow will always return on the regmap_update_bits() call
before the assignment.

The values calculated in exynos_ufs_specify_phy_time_attr() are only
used in exynos_ufs_config_phy_time_attr() which is only called if the
EXYNOS_UFS_OPT_SKIP_CONFIG_PHY_ATTR flag is not set.
Add a check for this flag to exynos_ufs_specify_phy_time_attr() and
return for platforms that don't set it.

Move the EXYNOS_UFS_OPT_UFSPR_SECURE check inside
exynos_ufs_config_smu().
This way all call sites will benefit from the check. This fixes a bug
currently in the exynos_ufs_resume() path on gs101 as it calls
exynos_ufs_config_smu() and we end up accessing registers that can only
be accessed from secure world which results in a serror.

UFS Gear 4 offers faster speeds, and better power usage so lets enable
it.
Currently ufshcd_init_host_params() sets UFS_HS_G3 as a default, so even
if the device supports G4 we end up negotiating down to G3.
For SoCs like gs101 which have a UFS major controller version of 3 or
above advertise Gear 4. This then allows a Gear 4 link on Pixel 6.
For earlier controller versions keep the current default behaviour of
reporting G3.

ufshcd_async_scan() is called (asynchronously) only by ufshcd_init().
Move the ufshcd_device_init(hba, true) call from ufshcd_async_scan()
into ufshcd_init(). This patch prepares for moving both scsi_add_host()
calls into ufshcd_add_scsi_host(). Calling ufshcd_device_init() from
ufshcd_init() without holding hba->host_sem is safe. This is safe
because hba->host_sem serializes core code and sysfs callbacks. The
ufshcd_device_init() call is moved before the scsi_add_host() call and
hence happens before any SCSI sysfs attributes are created.
Since ufshcd_device_init() may call scsi_add_host(), only call
scsi_add_host() from ufshcd_add_scsi_host() if the SCSI host has not yet
been added by ufshcd_device_init().

From the UFSHCI specification: "CleanUp Command Return Code (RTC): host
controller sets this return code to provide more details of the cleanup

The ufshcd_scsi_block_requests() and ufshcd_scsi_unblock_requests()
calls were introduced in ufshcd_exception_event_handler() to prevent
that querying the exception event information would time out. Commit
10fe5888a4 ("scsi: ufs: increase the scsi query response timeout")
increased the timeout for querying exception information from 30 ms to
1.5 s and thereby eliminated the risk that a timeout would happen.
Hence, the calls to block and unblock SCSI requests are superfluous.
Remove these calls.

The MCQ code is also valid for legacy mode. Hence, remove the legacy
mode code and retain the MCQ code. Since it is not an error if a command
completes while ufshcd_try_to_abort_task() is in progress, use
dev_info() instead of dev_err() to report this.

If ufshcd_rtc_work calls ufshcd_rpm_put_sync() and the pm's usage_count
is 0, we will enter the runtime suspend callback. However, the runtime
suspend callback will wait to flush ufshcd_rtc_work, causing a deadlock.
Replace ufshcd_rpm_put_sync() with ufshcd_rpm_put() to avoid the
deadlock.

Performance problems may occur if there is a problem with the asymmetric
connected lane such as h/w failure. Currently, only check connected
lane for rx/tx is checked if it is not 0. But it should also be checked
if it is asymmetrically connected.

After the SQ cleanup fix, the CQ will receive a response with the
corresponding tag marked as OCS: ABORTED. To align with the behavior of
Legacy SDB mode, the handling of OCS: ABORTED has been changed to match
that of OCS_INVALID_COMMAND_STATUS (SDB), with both returning a SCSI
result of DID_REQUEUE.
Furthermore, the workaround implemented before the SQ cleanup fix can be
removed.

When setting the ICU bit without using read-modify-write, SQRTCy will
restart SQ again and receive an RTC return error code 2 (Failure - SQ
not stopped).
Additionally, the error log has been modified so that this type of error
can be observed.

This patch introduces a previously missing step: zeroing the 'utp_upiu_req'
structure at the beginning of each upiu transaction. This ensures that the
upiu request fields are properly initialized, preventing potential issues
caused by residual data from previous commands.
While at it, re-use some of the common initializations for query and
command upiu.

Simplify __ufshcd_send_uic_cmd() by always initializing the
uic_cmd::done completion. This is fine since the time required to
initialize a completion is small compared to the time required to
process an UIC command.

In ufshcd_uic_cmd_compl(), there is code that dereferences 'cmd' with
and without checking the 'cmd' pointer. This confuses static source code
analyzers like Coverity and sparse. Since none of the code in
ufshcd_uic_cmd_compl() can do anything useful if 'cmd' is NULL, move the
'cmd' test near the start of this function.

Replace manual offset calculations for response_upiu and prd_table in
ufshcd_init_lrb() with pre-calculated offsets already stored in the
utp_transfer_req_desc structure. The pre-calculated offsets are set
differently in ufshcd_host_memory_configure() based on the
UFSHCD_QUIRK_PRDT_BYTE_GRAN quirk, ensuring correct alignment and
access.

The fault-inject.h users across the kernel need to add a lot of #ifdef
CONFIG_FAULT_INJECTION to cater for shortcomings in the header. Make
fault-inject.h self-contained for CONFIG_FAULT_INJECTION=n, and add stubs
for DECLARE_FAULT_ATTR(), setup_fault_attr(), should_fail_ex(), and
should_fail() to allow removal of conditional compilation.

MT8183 implements the UFSHCI 2.1 spec but reports a bogus value of 1 in
the reserved part for the Legacy Single Doorbell Support (LSDBS)
capability.
Set UFSHCD_QUIRK_BROKEN_LSDBS_CAP when MCQ support is explicitly
disabled, allowing the device to be properly registered.

ufshcd_urgent_bkops() is a wrapper function. It only calls
ufshcd_bkops_ctrl(). Remove it to simplify the ufs core driver. Replace any
references to ufshcd_urgent_bkops() with ufshcd_bkops_ctrl().
In addition, remove the second parameter in the ufshcd_bkops_ctrl() because
the information can be retrieved from the first parameter.

simplifies such code by passing the format string and arguments to
alloc_workqueue(). Additionally, the structure members that are only
used as a temporary buffer for formatting workqueue names are
removed. Please consider this patch series for the next merge window.

The workqueue maintainer wants to remove the create*_workqueue() macros
because these macros always set the WQ_MEM_RECLAIM flag and because these
only support literal workqueue names. Hence this patch that replaces the
create*_workqueue() invocations with the definition of this macro. The
WQ_MEM_RECLAIM flag has been retained because I think that flag is necessary
for workqueues created by storage drivers. This patch has been generated by
running spatch and git clang-format. spatch has been invoked as follows:

UFS trace events are called exclusively from the UFS core drivers. Make
those events private to the core driver.
The MAINTAINERS file does not need updating as the maintainership remains
the same and the relevant directory is already covered.

SM8550 SoC has the UFSHCI 4.0 compliant UFS controller and only supports
legacy single doorbell mode without MCQ. But due to a hardware bug, it
reports 1 in the 'Legacy Queue & Single Doorbell Support (LSDBS)' field of
the Controller Capabilities register. This field is supposed to read as 0
if legacy single doorbell mode is supported and 1 otherwise.
Starting with commit 0c60eb0cc3 ("scsi: ufs: core: Check LSDBS cap when
!mcq"), ufshcd driver is now relying on the LSDBS field to decide when to
use the legacy doorbell mode if MCQ is not supported. And this ends up
breaking UFS on SM8550:
ufshcd-qcom 1d84000.ufs: ufshcd_init: failed to initialize (legacy doorbell mode not supported)
ufshcd-qcom 1d84000.ufs: error -EINVAL: Initialization failed with error -22
So use the UFSHCD_QUIRK_BROKEN_LSDBS_CAP quirk for SM8550 SoC so that the
ufshcd driver could use legacy doorbell mode correctly.

'Legacy Queue & Single Doorbell Support (LSDBS)' field in the controller
capabilities register is supposed to report whether the legacy single
doorbell mode is supported in the controller or not. But some controllers
report '1' in this field which corresponds to 'LSDB not supported', but
they indeed support LSDB. So let's add a quirk to handle those controllers.
If the quirk is enabled by the controller driver, then LSDBS register field
will be ignored and legacy single doorbell mode is assumed to be enabled
always.

The "sz" variable needs to be a signed type for the error handling to work
as intended. Fortunately, there is some sanity checking on "sz" on the
next line, so negative values would be caught and it doesn't really affect
runtime.

The standard register map of UFSHCI is comprised of several groups. The
first group (starting from offset 0x00), is the host capabilities group.
It contains some interesting information that otherwise is not available,
e.g. the UFS version of the platform etc.

Prepare so we'll be able to read various other HCI registers. While at it,
fix the HCPID & HCMID register names to stand for what they really are.
Also replace the pm_runtime_{get/put}_sync() calls in auto_hibern8_show to
ufshcd_rpm_{get/put}_sync() as any host controller register reads should.

similar functions. of_get_property() leaks the DT property data pointer
which is a problem for dynamically allocated nodes which may be freed.

The default UIC command timeout still remains 500ms. Allow platform
drivers to override the UIC command timeout if desired.
In a real product, the 500ms timeout value is probably good enough.
However, during the product development where there are a lot of logging
and debug messages being printed to the UART console, interrupt starvations
happen occasionally because the UART may print long debug messages from
different modules in the system. While printing, the UART may have
interrupts disabled for more than 500ms, causing UIC command timeout. The
UIC command timeout would trigger more printing from the UFS driver, and
eventually a watchdog timeout may occur unnecessarily.
Add support for overriding the UIC command timeout value with the newly
created uic_cmd_timeout kernel module parameter. Default value is
500ms. Supported values range from 500ms to 2 seconds.
