472098c877 drm/i915/huc: only load HuC on GTs that have VCS engines
On MTL the primary GT doesn't have any media capabilities, so no video
engines and no HuC. We must therefore skip the HuC fetch and load on
that specific case. Given that other multi-GT platforms might have HuC
on the primary GT, we can't just check for that and it is easier to
instead check for the lack of VCS engines.

Based on code from Aravind Iddamsetty

8133a6daad drm/i915: enable PS64 support for DG2
It turns out that on production DG2/ATS HW we should have support for
PS64. This feature allows to provide a 64K TLB hint at the PTE level,
which is a lot more flexible than the current method of enabling 64K GTT
pages for the entire page-table, since that leads to all kinds of
annoying restrictions, as documented in:

commit caa574ffc4
Author: Matthew Auld <matthew.auld@intel.com>
Date: Sat Feb 19 00:17:49 2022 +0530

    drm/i915/uapi: document behaviour for DG2 64K support

On discrete platforms like DG2, we need to support a minimum page size
of 64K when dealing with device local-memory. This is quite tricky for
various reasons, so try to document the new implicit uapi for this.

With PS64, we can now drop the 2M GTT alignment restriction, and instead
only require 64K or larger when dealing with lmem. We still use the
compact-pt layout when possible, but only when we are certain that this
doesn't interfere with userspace.

Note that this is a change in uAPI behaviour, but hopefully shouldn't be
a concern (IGT is at least able to autodetect the alignment), since we
are only making the GTT alignment constraint less restrictive.

Based on a patch from CQ Tang.

v2: update the comment wrt scratch page
v3: (Nirmoy)
 - Fix the selftest to actually use the random size, plus some comment
improvements, also drop the rem stuff.

dbb2ffbfd7 drm/i915/mtl: enable local stolen memory
As an integrated GPU, MTL does not have local memory and HAS_LMEM()
returns false. However the platform's stolen memory is presented via
BAR2 (i.e., the BAR we traditionally consider to be the GMADR on IGFX)
and should be managed by the driver the same way that local memory is
on dgpu platforms (which includes setting the "lmem" bit on page table
entries). We use the term "local stolen memory" to refer to this
model.

The major difference from the traditional BAR2 (GMADR) is that
the stolen area is mapped via the BAR2 while in the former BAR2 is an
aperture into the GTT VA through which access are made into stolen area.

BSPEC: 53098, 63830

v2:
1. dropped is_dsm_invalid, updated valid_stolen_size check from Lucas
(Jani, Lucas)
2. drop lmembar_is_igpu_stolen
3. revert to referring GFXMEM_BAR as GEN12_LMEM_BAR (Lucas)

v3:(Jani)
1. rename get_mtl_gms_size to mtl_get_gms_size
2. define register for MMIO address

v4:(Matt)
1. Use REG_FIELD_GET to read GMS value
2. replace the calculations with SZ_256M/SZ_8M

v5: Include more details to commit message on how it is different from
earlier platforms (Anshuman)

51aec8bf16 drm/i915/mtl: Hook up interrupts for standalone media
Top-level handling of standalone media interrupts will be processed as
part of the primary GT's interrupt handler (since primary and media GTs
share an MMIO space, unlike remote tile setups). When we get down to
the point of handling engine interrupts, we need to take care to lookup
VCS and VECS engines in the media GT rather than the primary.

There are also a couple of additional "other" instance bits that
correspond to the media GT's GuC and media GT's power management
interrupts; we need to direct those to the media GT instance as well.

70fff19a57 drm/i915: Prepare more multi-GT initialization
We're going to introduce an additional intel_gt for MTL's media unit
soon. Let's provide a bit more multi-GT initialization framework in
preparation for that. The initialization will pull the list of GTs for
a platform from the device info structure. Although necessary for the
immediate MTL media enabling, this same framework will also be used
farther down the road when we enable remote tiles on xehpsdv and pvc.

v2:
 - Re-add missing test for !HAS_EXTRA_GT_LIST in intel_gt_probe_all().

v3:
 - Move intel_gt_definition struct to intel_gt_types.h. (Jani)
 - Drop gtdef->setup(). For now we'll just use a switch() based on GT
type since we don't have too many different handlers for the
   foreseeable future. (Jani)

213cb76ddc Merge tag 'drm-intel-gt-next-2022-09-09' of git://anongit.freedesktop.org/drm/drm-intel into drm-next
UAPI Changes:

- Revert "drm/i915/dg2: Add preemption changes for Wa_14015141709"

The intent of Wa_14015141709 was to inform us that userspace can no
longer control object-level preemption as it has on past platforms
(i.e., by twiddling register bit CS_CHICKEN1[0]). The description of
the workaround in the spec wasn't terribly well-written, and when we
requested clarification from the hardware teams we were told that on the
kernel side we should also probably stop setting
FF_SLICE_CS_CHICKEN1[14], which is the register bit that directs the
hardware to honor the settings in per-context register CS_CHICKEN1. It
turns out that this guidance about FF_SLICE_CS_CHICKEN1[14] was a
mistake; even though CS_CHICKEN1[0] is non-operational and useless to
userspace, there are other bits in the register that do still work and
might need to be adjusted by userspace in the future (e.g., to implement
other workarounds that show up). If we don't set
FF_SLICE_CS_CHICKEN1[14] in i915, then those future workarounds would
  not take effect.

d9927abb45 Revert "drm/i915/dg2: Add preemption changes for Wa_14015141709"
This reverts commit ca6920811a.

This miscommunication came to light because another workaround
(Wa_16013994831) has now shown up that requires userspace to adjust the
value of CS_CHICKEN[10] in certain circumstances. To ensure userspace's
updates to this chicken bit are handled properly by the hardware, we
need to make sure that FF_SLICE_CS_CHICKEN1[14] is once again set by the
kernel.

Since drm-next does not have commit f0c70d41e4 ("drm/i915/guc: remove
runtime info printing from time stamp logging") yet, only
drm-intel-gt-next, will need to do that as part of the merge here to

e7858254f9 drm/i915/gt: Move multicast register handling to a dedicated file
Handling of multicast/replicated registers is spread across intel_gt.c
and intel_uncore.c today. As multicast handling and the related
steering logic gets more complicated with the addition of new platforms
and new rules it makes sense to centralize it all in one place.

For now the existing functions have been moved to the new .c/.h as-is.
Function renames and updates to operate in a more consistent manner will
be done in subsequent patches.

e0d7371b46 drm/i915/pvc: Add register steering
Ponte Vecchio no longer has MSLICE or LNCF steering, but the bspec does
document several new types of multicast register ranges. Fortunately,
most of the different MCR types all provide valid values at instance
(0,0) so there's no need to read fuse registers and calculate a
non-terminated instance. We'll lump all of those range types (BSLICE,
HALFBSLICE, TILEPSMI, CC, and L3BANK) into a single category called
"INSTANCE0" to keep things simple. We'll also perform explicit steering
for each of these multicast register types, even if the implicit
steering setup for COMPUTE/DSS ranges would have worked too; this is
based on guidance from our hardware architects who suggested that we
move away from implicit steering and start explicitly steer all MCR
register accesses on modern platforms (we'll work on transitioning
COMPUTE/DSS to explicit steering in the future).

Note that there's one additional MCR range type defined in the bspec
(SQIDI) that we don't handle here. Those ranges use a different
steering control register that we never touch; since instance 0 is also
always a valid setting there, we can just ignore those ranges.

Finally, we'll rename the HAS_MSLICES() macro to HAS_MSLICE_STEERING().
PVC hardware still has units referred to as mslices, but there's no
register steering based on mslice for this platform.

v2:

3cf0507625 drm/i915/bios: Split VBT data into per-panel vs. global parts
Move the panel specific VBT parsing to happen during the
output probing stage. Needs to be done because the VBT
parsing will need to look at the EDID to determine
the correct panel_type on some machines.

We split the parsed VBT data (i915->vbt) along the same
boundary. For the moment we just hoist all the panel
specific stuff into connector->panel.vbt since that seems
like the most convenient place for eg. the backlight code.

Note that we simply drop the drrs type check from
intel_drrs_frontbuffer_update() since that operates on the whole
device rather than a specific connector/encoder. But the check
was just a micro optimization so removing it doesn't actually
mattter for correctness.

TODO: Lot's of cleanup to be done in the future. Eg. most of
the DSI stuff could probably be eliminated entirely and just
parsed on demand during DSI init.

1e3dc1d862 drm/i915/gsc: add gsc as a mei auxiliary device

a chassis controller for graphics discrete cards.

There are two MEI interfaces in GSC: HECI1 and HECI2.

Both interfaces are on the BAR0 at offsets 0x00258000 and 0x00259000.
GSC is a GT Engine (class 4: instance 6). HECI1 interrupt is signaled
via bit 15 and HECI2 via bit 14 in the interrupt register.

This patch exports GSC as auxiliary device for mei driver to bind to
for HECI2 interface and prepares for HECI1 interface as
it will follow up soon.

b770bcfae9 drm/i915/gt: create per-tile sysfs interface
Now that we have tiles we want each of them to have its own

bec68cc9ea drm/i915: Prepare for multiple GTs
On a multi-tile platform, each tile has its own registers + GGTT
space, and BAR 0 is extended to cover all of them.

Up to four GTs are supported in i915->gt[], with slot zero
shadowing the existing i915->gt0 to enable source compatibility
with legacy driver paths. A for_each_gt macro is added to iterate
over the GTs and will be used by upcoming patches that convert
various parts of the driver to be multi-gt aware.

Only the primary/root tile is initialized for now; the other
tiles will be detected and plugged in by future patches once the
necessary infrastructure is in place to handle them.

b9ef89392c drm/i915/tgl: Simply subplatform detection
In the past we had a need to differentiate TGL U and TGL Y, there
was a different voltage swing table for each subplatform and some PCI
ids of this subplatforms are shared but it turned out that it was a
specification mistake and the voltage swing table was indeed the same
but we went ahead with that patch because we needed to differentiate
TGL U and Y from TGL H and by that time TGL H was embargoed so that
was the perfect way to land it upstream.

Now the embargo for TGL H is long past and now we even have
INTEL_TGL_12_GT1_IDS with all TGL H ids, so we can drop this PCI root
check and only rely in the PCI ids to differentiate TGL U and Y from
TGL H that actually has code differences.

Besides the simplification this will fix issues in virtualization
environments where the PCI root is virtualized and don't have the same
id as actual hardware.

In Xe HP and beyond (XEHPSDV, DG2, etc), there is a new feature introduced

14da21cc46 drm/i915: axe lots of unnecessary includes from i915_drv.h
It's fairly difficult to ensure these are actually not needed due to
indirect includes via other files. However, it's easier to add them back
as needed and, most importantly, where needed instead of exhaustively
proving they're unnecessary.

ce2fce2513 drm/i915: Only include i915_reg.h from .c files
Several of our i915 header files, have been including i915_reg.h. This
means that any change to i915_reg.h will trigger a full rebuild of
pretty much every file of the driver, even those that don't have any
kind of register access. Let's delete the i915_reg.h include from all
headers and add an explicit include from the .c files that truly
need the register definitions; those that need a definition of
i915_reg_t for a function definition can get it from i915_reg_defs.h
instead.

We also remove two non-register #define's (VLV_DISPLAY_BASE and
GEN12_SFC_DONE_MAX) into i915_reg_defs.h to allow us to drop the
i915_reg.h include from a couple of headers.

There's probably a lot more header dependency optimization possible, but
the changes here roughly cut the number of files compiled after 'touch
i915_reg.h' in half --- a good first step.

but the display steppings continue to use the same numbering scheme as
G10 and G11.

Some existing DG2 workarounds are starting to be extended to the DG2-G12
subplatform. So far only workarounds that were "permanent" for both
DG2-G10 and DG2-G11 have been tagged for DG2-G12, but more
stepping-specific workarounds are likely to show up in the future.

db3b3f3e62 drm/i915/wopcm: Handle pre-programmed WOPCM registers
Starting from DG2, some of the programming previously done by i915 and
the GuC has been moved to the GSC and the relevant registers are no
longer writable by either CPU or GuC. This is also referred to as GuC
deprivilege.
On the i915 side, this affects the WOPCM registers: these are no longer
programmed by the driver and we do instead expect to find them already
set. This can lead to verification failures because in i915 we cheat a bit
with the WOPCM size defines, to keep the code common across platforms, by
sometimes using a smaller WOPCM size that the actual HW support (which isn't
a problem because the extra size is not needed if the FW fits in the smaller
chunk), while the pre-programmed values can use the actual size.
Given tha the new programming entity is trusted, relax the amount of the
checks done on the pre-programmed values by not limiting the max
programmed size. In the extremely unlikely scenario that the registers
have been misprogrammed, we will still fail later at DMA time.

2f6b90da91 drm/i915: Use vma resources for async unbinding
Implement async (non-blocking) unbinding by not syncing the vma before
calling unbind on the vma_resource.
Add the resulting unbind fence to the object's dma_resv from where it is
picked up by the ttm migration code.
Ideally these unbind fences should be coalesced with the migration blit
fence to avoid stalling the migration blit waiting for unbind, as they
can certainly go on in parallel, but since we don't yet have a
reasonable data structure to use to coalesce fences and attach the
resulting fence to a timeline, we defer that for now.

Note that with async unbinding, even while the unbind waits for the
preceding bind to complete before unbinding, the vma itself might have been
destroyed in the process, clearing the vma pages. Therefore we can
only allow async unbinding if we have a refcounted sg-list and keep a
refcount on that for the vma resource pages to stay intact until
binding occurs. If this condition is not met, a request for an async
unbind is diverted to a sync unbind.

v2:
- Use a separate kmem_cache for vma resources for now to isolate their
  memory allocation and aid debugging.
- Move the check for vm closed to the actual unbinding thread. Regardless
of whether the vm is closed, we need the unbind fence to properly wait
  for capture.
- Clear vma_res::vm on unbind and update its documentation.
v4:
- Take cache coloring into account when searching for vma resources
  pending unbind. (Matthew Auld)
v5:
- Fix timeout and error check in i915_vma_resource_bind_dep_await().
- Avoid taking a reference on the object for async binding if
  async unbind capable.
- Fix braces around a single-line if statement.
v6:
- Fix up the cache coloring adjustment. (Kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com>)
- Don't allow async unbinding if the vma_res pages are not the same as
  the object pages. (Matthew Auld)
v7:
- s/unsigned long/u64/ in a number of places (Matthew Auld)

6cb12fbda1 drm/i915: Use trylock instead of blocking lock for __i915_gem_free_objects.
Convert free_work into delayed_work, similar to ttm to allow converting the
blocking lock in __i915_gem_free_objects to a trylock.

Unlike ttm, the object should already be idle, as it's kept alive
by a reference through struct i915_vma->active, which is dropped
after all vma's are idle.

Because of this, we can use a no wait by default, or when the lock
is contested, we use ttm's 10 ms.

The trylock should only fail when the object is sharing it's resv with
other objects, and typically objects are not kept locked for a long
time, so we can safely retry on failure.
