8be4d31cb8 Networking changes for 6.17.
Core & protocols
 ----------------

  - Wrap datapath globals into net_aligned_data, to avoid false sharing.

  - Preserve MSG_ZEROCOPY in forwarding (e.g. out of a container).

  - Add SO_INQ and SCM_INQ support to AF_UNIX.

  - Add SIOCINQ support to AF_VSOCK.

  - Add TCP_MAXSEG sockopt to MPTCP.

  - Add IPv6 force_forwarding sysctl to enable forwarding per interface.

  - Make TCP validation of whether packet fully fits in the receive
window and the rcv_buf more strict. With increased use of HW
aggregation a single "packet" can be multiple 100s of kB.

  - Add MSG_MORE flag to optimize large TCP transmissions via sockmap,
improves latency up to 33% for sockmap users.

  - Convert TCP send queue handling from tasklet to BH workque.

  - Improve BPF iteration over TCP sockets to see each socket exactly once.

  - Remove obsolete and unused TCP RFC3517/RFC6675 loss recovery code.

  - Support enabling kernel threads for NAPI processing on per-NAPI
instance basis rather than a whole device. Fully stop the kernel NAPI
thread when threaded NAPI gets disabled. Previously thread would stick
around until ifdown due to tricky synchronization.

  - Allow multicast routing to take effect on locally-generated packets.

  - Add output interface argument for End.X in segment routing.

  - MCTP: add support for gateway routing, improve bind() handling.

  - Don't require rtnl_lock when fetching an IPv6 neighbor over Netlink.

  - Add a new neighbor flag ("extern_valid"), which cedes refresh
responsibilities to userspace. This is needed for EVPN multi-homing
where a neighbor entry for a multi-homed host needs to be synced
across all the VTEPs among which the host is multi-homed.

  - Support NUD_PERMANENT for proxy neighbor entries.

  - Add a new queuing discipline for IETF RFC9332 DualQ Coupled AQM.

  - Add sequence numbers to netconsole messages. Unregister netconsole's
console when all net targets are removed. Code refactoring.
    Add a number of selftests.

  - Align IPSec inbound SA lookup to RFC 4301. Only SPI and protocol
should be used for an inbound SA lookup.

  - Support inspecting ref_tracker state via DebugFS.

  - Don't force bonding advertisement frames tx to ~333 ms boundaries.
Add broadcast_neighbor option to send ARP/ND on all bonded links.

  - Allow providing upcall pid for the 'execute' command in openvswitch.

  - Remove DCCP support from Netfilter's conntrack.

  - Disallow multiple packet duplications in the queuing layer.

  - Prevent use of deprecated iptables code on PREEMPT_RT.

 Driver API
 ----------

  - Support RSS and hashing configuration over ethtool Netlink.

  - Add dedicated ethtool callbacks for getting and setting hashing fields.

  - Add support for power budget evaluation strategy in PSE /
Power-over-Ethernet. Generate Netlink events for overcurrent etc.

  - Support DPLL phase offset monitoring across all device inputs.
Support providing clock reference and SYNC over separate DPLL
    inputs.

  - Support traffic classes in devlink rate API for bandwidth management.

  - Remove rtnl_lock dependency from UDP tunnel port configuration.

fd72f265bb netfilter: conntrack: remove DCCP protocol support
The DCCP socket family has now been removed from this tree, see:

  8bb3212be4 ("Merge branch 'net-retire-dccp-socket'")

Remove connection tracking and NAT support for this protocol, this
should not pose a problem because no DCCP traffic is expected to be seen
on the wire.

As for the code for matching on dccp header for iptables and nftables,
mark it as deprecated and keep it in place. Ruleset restoration is an
atomic operation. Without dccp matching support, an astray match on dccp
could break this operation leaving your computer with no policy in
place, so let's follow a more conservative approach for matches.

Add CONFIG_NFT_EXTHDR_DCCP which is set to 'n' by default to deprecate
dccp extension support. Similarly, label CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_MATCH_DCCP
as deprecated too and also set it to 'n' by default.

Code to match on DCCP protocol from ebtables also remains in place, this
is just a few checks on IPPROTO_DCCP from _check() path which is
exercised when ruleset is loaded. There is another use of IPPROTO_DCCP
from the _check() path in the iptables multiport match. Another check
for IPPROTO_DCCP from the packet in the reject target is also removed.

So let's schedule removal of the dccp matching for a second stage, this
should not interfer with the dccp retirement since this is only matching
on the dccp header.

ca4477e41c crypto: arm/sha256 - implement library instead of shash
Instead of providing crypto_shash algorithms for the arch-optimized
SHA-256 code, instead implement the SHA-256 library. This is much
simpler, it makes the SHA-256 library functions be arch-optimized, and
it fixes the longstanding issue where the arch-optimized SHA-256 was
disabled by default. SHA-256 still remains available through
crypto_shash, but individual architectures no longer need to handle it.

To merge the scalar, NEON, and CE code all into one module cleanly, add
!CPU_V7M as a direct dependency of the CE code. Previously, !CPU_V7M
was only a direct dependency of the scalar and NEON code. The result is
still the same because CPU_V7M implies !KERNEL_MODE_NEON, so !CPU_V7M
was already an indirect dependency of the CE code.

To match sha256_blocks_arch(), change the type of the nblocks parameter
of the assembly functions from int to size_t. The assembly functions
actually already treated it as size_t.

While renaming the assembly files, also fix the naming quirk where
"sha2" meant sha256. (SHA-512 is also part of SHA-2.)

arm: defconfig: drop RT_GROUP_SCHED=y from bcm2835/tegra/omap2plus
Commit 673ce00c5d ("ARM: omap2plus_defconfig: Add support for distros
with systemd") said it's because of recommendation from systemd. But
systemd changed their recommendation later.[1]

For cgroup v1, if turned on, and there's any cgroup in the "cpu" hierarchy it
needs an RT budget assigned, otherwise the processes in it will not be able to
get RT at all. The problem with RT group scheduling is that it requires the
budget assigned but there's no way we could assign a default budget, since the
values to assign are both upper and lower time limits, are absolute, and need to
be sum up to < 1 for each individal cgroup. That means we cannot really come up
with values that would work by default in the general case.[2]

For cgroup v2, it's almost unusable as well. If it turned on, the cpu controller
can only be enabled when all RT processes are in the root cgroup. But it will
lose the benefits of cgroup v2 if all RT process were placed in the same cgroup.

Red Hat, Gentoo, Arch Linux and Debian all disable it. systemd also doesn't
support it.

5ce19a5016 media: rc: remove ir-rx51 in favour of generic pwm-ir-tx
The ir-rx51 is a pwm-based TX driver specific to the N900. This can be
handled entirely by the generic pwm-ir-tx driver, and in fact the
pwm-ir-tx driver has been compatible with ir-rx51 from the start.

Note that the suspend code in the ir-rx51 driver is unnecessary, since
during transmit, the process is not in interruptable sleep. The process
is not put to sleep until the transmit completes.

1f2190d6b7 arch/*/configs/*defconfig: Replace AUTOFS4_FS by AUTOFS_FS
Commit a2225d931f ("autofs: remove left-over autofs4 stubs")
promised the removal of the fs/autofs/Kconfig fragment for AUTOFS4_FS
within a couple of releases, but five years later this still has not
happened yet, and AUTOFS4_FS is still enabled in 63 defconfigs.

Get rid of it mechanically:

   git grep -l CONFIG_AUTOFS4_FS -- '*defconfig' |
       xargs sed -i 's/AUTOFS4_FS/AUTOFS_FS/'

Also just remove the AUTOFS4_FS config option stub. Anybody who hasn't
regenerated their config file in the last five years will need to just
get the new name right when they do.

eb07c4f39c mm/slab: rename CONFIG_SLAB to CONFIG_SLAB_DEPRECATED
As discussed at LSF/MM [1] [2] and with no objections raised there,
deprecate the SLAB allocator. Rename the user-visible option so that
users with CONFIG_SLAB=y get a new prompt with explanation during make
oldconfig, while make olddefconfig will just switch to SLUB.

In all defconfigs with CONFIG_SLAB=y remove the line so those also
switch to SLUB. Regressions due to the switch should be reported to
linux-mm and slab maintainers.

ddd366bf01 ARM: defconfig: address renamed CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=y
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO is now implicitly selected if one picks one of the
explicit options that could be DEBUG_INFO_DWARF_TOOLCHAIN_DEFAULT,
DEBUG_INFO_DWARF4, DEBUG_INFO_DWARF5.

This was actually not what I had in mind when I suggested making
it a 'choice' statement, but it's too late to change again now,
and the Kconfig logic is more sensible in the new form.

Change any defconfig file that had CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO enabled
but did not pick DWARF4 or DWARF5 explicitly to now pick the toolchain
default.

2002f39687 ARM: refresh defconfig files
A lot of Kconfig options have changed over the years, and we tend
to not do a blind 'make defconfig' to refresh the files, to ensure
we catch options that should not have gone away.

I used some a bit of scripting to only rework the bits where an
option moved around in any of the defconfig files, without also
dropping any of the other lines, to make it clearer which options
we no longer have.

95f05058b2 ARM: SoC fixes for v5.11
These are a small number of bug fixes that all came in before or during
the merge window, most for the omap platform:

  - One boot regression fix for Nokia N9 (OMAP3).

  - Two small defconfig changes for omap2, to reflect changes in drivers

  - Warning fixes for DT issues on omap2, picoxcell and bitmap SoCs.

first makes it easier to backport to the fix to stable kernels
and get a clean build with new dtc versions
