Instead of listing directly properties typical for SPI peripherals,
reference the spi-peripheral-props.yaml schema. This allows using all
properties typical for SPI-connected devices, even these which device
bindings author did not tried yet.
Remove the spi-* properties which now come via spi-peripheral-props.yaml
schema, except for the cases when device schema adds some constraints
like maximum frequency.
While changing additionalProperties->unevaluatedProperties, put it in
typical place, just before example DTS.a
The binding references also input.yaml and lists explicitly allowed
properties, thus here reference only spi-peripheral-props.yaml for
purpose of documenting the SPI slave device and bringing
spi-max-frequency type validation.

The gpio-keys DT schema matches all properties with a wide pattern and
applies specific schema to children. This has drawback - all regular
properties are also matched and are silently ignored, even if they are
not described in schema. Basically this allows any non-object property
to be present.
Enforce specific naming pattern for children (keys) to narrow the
pattern thus do not match other properties. This will require all
children to be properly prefixed or suffixed (button, event, switch or
key).
Removal of "if:" within patternProperties causes drop of one indentation
level, but there are no other changes in the affected block.

Like many i2c-hid touchscreen controllers, the Elan eKTH6915
controller has a reset gpio. For the Goodix GT7375P touchscreen the
decision was to add a new binding rather than trying to add a new GPIO
to the existing i2c-hid binding. We'll follow the lead and do it here,
too.
SIDE NOTE: the Elan eKTH6915 is a touchscreen _controller_ that's
included as a part on some touchscreens. The reset line isn't truly
necessary for the functioning of the touchscreen, so it's possible
that some designs won't have it hooked up and will just guarantee the
power sequencing requirements with RLC circuits. Thus, we'll mark the
reset gpio as optional.
Note that if the reset GPIO isn't used there's actually no true need
to use the "elan,ekth6915" compatible instead of the "hid-over-i2c" on
Linux. However:
- Officially using just "hid-over-i2c" for this device violates the
existing "hid-over-i2c" bindings. The bindings say that you're not
supposed to use "post-power-on-delay-ms" without specifying a more
specific compatible. Currently the Linux driver doesn't enforce
this, but it violates the bindings to just use
"hid-over-i2c". ...and if you're going to add a more specific
compatible anyway, might as well do it right.
- Using this compatible means we don't need to specify
"hid-descr-addr" since it's inferred from the compatible.
- Using this compatible means that the regulator names match the names
on the Elan datasheet (vcc33 / vccio) vs the generic hid-over-i2c
(vdd / vddl).

Now that the schema tools can extract type information for all
properties (in order to decode dtb files), finding properties missing
any type definition is fairly trivial though not yet automated.
Fix the various property schemas which are missing a type. Most of these
tend to be device specific properties which don't have a vendor prefix.
A vendor prefix is how we normally ensure a type is defined.

If the ChromeOS board is a detachable, this cros-ec-keyb device won't
have a matrix keyboard but it may have some button switches, e.g. volume
buttons and power buttons. The driver still registers a keyboard though
and that leads to userspace confusion around where the keyboard is.
We tried to work around this by only registering the keyboard device when
rows/columns properties were specified for the device, but that led to
another problem where removing the rows/columns properties breaks the
existing binding. Technically before that commit the rows/columns
properties were required, otherwise the driver would fail to probe.
Removing the properties from devicetrees makes the driver fail to probe
unless the corresponding driver patch is present. Furthermore, this makes
requiring matrix keyboard properties for devices that really have a
keyboard impossible because the compatible drives the schema and now the
properties are optional.
Add a more specific compatible for this type of device that indicates to
the OS that there are only switches and no matrix keyboard present.

The R329 and D1 SoCs each contain an LRADC with a programming interface
compatible to earlier LRADCs. However, the LRADC now has its own clock
gate and reset line, instead of being always active.
To support this, add clock/reset properties to the binding, and require
them for the variant in the new SoCs.

Another pass at removing unnecessary use of 'allOf' with a '$ref'.
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that
any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct
form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed
in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other
keywords.

This converts the Zinitix BT4xx and BT5xx touchscreen bindings to YAML,
fix them up a bit and extends them.
We list all the existing BT4xx and BT5xx components with compatible
strings. These are all similar, use the same bindings and work in
similar ways.
We rename the supplies from the erroneous vdd/vddo to the actual supply
names vcca/vdd as specified on the actual component. It is long
established that supplies shall be named after the supply pin names of a
component. The confusion probably stems from that in a certain product
the rails to the component were named vdd/vddo. Drop some notes on how OS
implementations should avoid confusion by first looking for vddo, and if
that exists assume the legacy binding pair and otherwise use vcca/vdd.
Add reset-gpios as sometimes manufacturers pulls a GPIO line to the reset
line on the chip.
Add optional touchscreen-fuzz-x and touchscreen-fuzz-y properties.

The "interrupts" property in the example looks weird:
- The type is not in the last cell,
- Level interrupts don't work well with gpio-keys, as they keep the
interrupt asserted as long as the key is pressed, causing an
interrupt storm.
Use a more realistic falling-edge interrupt instead.

At the moment, the edt-ft5x06 driver can control a single regulator
("vcc"). However, some FocalTech touch controllers have an additional
IOVCC pin that should be supplied with the digital I/O voltage.
The I/O voltage might be provided by another regulator that should also
be kept on. Otherwise, the touchscreen can randomly stop functioning if
the regulator is turned off because no other components still require it.

This converts the CYTTSP "Cypress TrueTouch Standard Product"
to YAML bindings and fixes and adds some things in the process:
- Rename the bindings file to cypress,cy8ctma340 after the main
product in the series.
- Add proper compatibles for the two known products:
CY8CTMA340 and CY8CTST341.
- Deprecate "cypress,cyttsp-spi" and "cypress,cyttsp-i2c"
because device compatibles should be named after the
hardware and not after which bus they are connected to.
The topology implicitly tells us which bus it is and what
interface to used.
- Add VCPIN and VDD supplies, these are present just like
on the CY8CTMA140.

DT properties which can have multiple entries need to specify what the
entries are and define how many entries there can be. In the case of
only a single entry, just 'maxItems: 1' is sufficient.
Add the missing entry constraints. These were found with a modified
meta-schema. Unfortunately, there are a few cases where the size
constraints are not defined such as common bindings, so the meta-schema
can't be part of the normal checks.

The current description of ADC keys is not precise enough.
"when this key is pressed" leaves it open if a key is considered pressed
below or above the threshold. This has led to confusion:
drivers/input/keyboard/adc-keys.c ignores the meaning of thresholds and
sets the key that is closest to press-threshold-microvolt.
This patch nails down the definitions and provides an interpretation of the
supplied example.

The correct syntax for JSON pointers begins with a '/' after the '#'.
Without a '/', the string should be interpreted as a subschema
identifier. The jsonschema module currently doesn't handle subschema
identifiers and incorrectly allows JSON pointers to begin without a '/'.
Let's fix this before it becomes a problem when jsonschema module is
fixed.

for the interrupt line and the I2C lines, so we might need to enable
a regulator to bring the lines into usable state. Otherwise, this might
cause spurious interrupts and reading from I2C will fail.

While we're at it, clarify the descriptions a bit to make it clear that

a similar I2C protocol. Depending on the MCU the voltage requirements
may be different, on some devices the controller uses 2.2V, 2.8V or

Another round of 'allOf' removals that came in this cycle.
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that
any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct
form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed
in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other
keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the
tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works.
This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this
treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax.

Convert the gpio-keys and gpio-keys-polled bindings to a DT schema. As
both bindings are almost the same, combine them into a single schema.
The binding said 'interrupts' was required, but testing on dts files
showed that it isn't required.
'linux,input-value' was only documented for gpio-keys-polled, but there
doesn't seem to be any reason for it to be specific to that. It can work
for gpio-keys too if the GPIO line(s) are available.

Setting 'additionalProperties: false' is frequently omitted, but is
important in order to check that there aren't extra undocumented
properties in a binding.
Ideally, we'd just add this automatically and make this the default, but
there's some cases where it doesn't work. For example, if a common
schema is referenced, then properties in the common schema aren't part
of what's considered for 'additionalProperties'. Also, sometimes there
are bus specific properties such as 'spi-max-frequency' that go into
bus child nodes, but aren't defined in the child node's schema.
So let's stick with the json-schema defined default and add
'additionalProperties: false' where needed. This will be a continual
review comment and game of wack-a-mole.

The current driver behaviour was to enable the wakeup-source everytime.
After discussion [1] we decided to change that behaviour so the device
will act as wakeup-source only if the "wakeup-source" dt-property is
present.
The patch adds the binding documentation to enable the wakeup-source

Pull ARM Devicetree updates from Olof Johansson:
"We continue to see a lot of new material. I've highlighted some of it
below, but there's been more beyond that as well.
One of the sweeping changes is that many boards have seen their ARM
Mali GPU devices added to device trees, since the DRM drivers have now
been merged.
So, with the caveat that I have surely missed several great
contributions, here's a collection of the material this time around:
New SoCs:
- Mediatek mt8183 (4x Cortex-A73 + 4x Cortex-A53)
- TI J721E (2x Cortex-A72 + 3x Cortex-R5F + 3 DSPs + MMA)
- Amlogic G12B (4x Cortex-A73 + 2x Cortex-A53)
New Boards / platforms:
- Aspeed BMC support for a number of new server platforms
- Kontron SMARC SoM (several i.MX6 versions)
- Novtech's Meerkat96 (i.MX7)
- ST Micro Avenger96 board
- Hardkernel ODROID-N2 (Amlogic G12B)
- Purism Librem5 devkit (i.MX8MQ)
- Google Cheza (Qualcomm SDM845)
- Qualcomm Dragonboard 845c (Qualcomm SDM845)
- Hugsun X99 TV Box (Rockchip RK3399)
- Khadas Edge/Edge-V/Captain (Rockchip RK3399)
Updated / expanded boards and platforms:
- Renesas r7s9210 has a lot of new peripherals added
- Fixes and polish for Rockchip-based Chromebooks
- Amlogic G12A has a lot of peripherals added
- Nvidia Jetson Nano sees various fixes and improvements, and is now
at feature parity with TX1"

This adds the devicetree bindings for the STMPE ADC. This also corrects
a typo in st,sample-time it is rather "6 -> 124 clocks" according
to the datasheet and not 144.
We need to use the naming stmpe_adc in devicetree because this is given
by the mfd device.

Some touchscreens, depending on the firmware and/or the digitizer, report
coordinates which never reach 0 along one or both of their axis.
This has been seen for example on the Silead touchscreens on a Onda V891w
and a Point of View mobii TAB-P800w(v2.0).
This commit adds support for touchscreen-min-x and touchscreen-min-y
device-properties which can be set to communicate the actual start
coordinates (rather then 0,0) to userspace.
This commit also drop the "(in pixels)" comment from the documentation
of the touchscreen-size-x and touchscreen-size-y properties. The comment
suggested that there is a relation between the range of reported
coordinates and the display resolution, which is only true for some
devices. The "(in pixels)" comment is replaced with "(maximum x coordinate
reported + 1)" to mirror the language describing the new touchscreen-min-x
and -min-y properties.
When set this fixes e.g. not being able to click things in the GNOME3
top-bar on the 2 example tablets.

Here are the big staging/iio patches for 4.19-rc1.
Lots of churn here, with tons of cleanups happening in staging drivers,
a removal of an old crypto driver that no one was using (skein), and the
addition of some new IIO drivers. Also added was a "gasket" driver from
Google that needs loads of work and the erofs filesystem.
Even with adding all of the new drivers and a new filesystem, we are
only adding about 1000 lines overall to the kernel linecount, which
shows just how much cleanup happened, and how big the unused crypto
driver was.
All of these have been in the linux-next tree for a while now with no
reported issues.
Note, you will have a merge problem with a device tree IIO file and the
MAINTAINERS file, both resolutions are easy, just take all changed.
There will be a skein file merge issue as well, but that file got
deleted so just drop that.

'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but
it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required
in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can
be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So
remove it from all the binding files.
