d9265e8a87 Input: of_touchscreen - add support for touchscreen-min-x|y
Some touchscreens, depending on the firmware and/or the digitizer, report
coordinates which never reach 0 along one or both of their axis.

This has been seen for example on the Silead touchscreens on a Onda V891w
and a Point of View mobii TAB-P800w(v2.0).

This commit adds support for touchscreen-min-x and touchscreen-min-y
device-properties which can be set to communicate the actual start
coordinates (rather then 0,0) to userspace.

This commit also drop the "(in pixels)" comment from the documentation
of the touchscreen-size-x and touchscreen-size-y properties. The comment
suggested that there is a relation between the range of reported
coordinates and the display resolution, which is only true for some
devices. The "(in pixels)" comment is replaced with "(maximum x coordinate
reported + 1)" to mirror the language describing the new touchscreen-min-x
and -min-y properties.

When set this fixes e.g. not being able to click things in the GNOME3
top-bar on the 2 example tablets.

In the example for the pwm-vibrator bindings, pwm8 is the direction pin,
and pwm9 is the enable pin. The pwms on the vibrator node has these two
values swapped so this patch corrects it.

2475c515d4 Staging/IIO patches for 4.19-rc1
Here are the big staging/iio patches for 4.19-rc1.

 Lots of churn here, with tons of cleanups happening in staging drivers,
 a removal of an old crypto driver that no one was using (skein), and the
 addition of some new IIO drivers. Also added was a "gasket" driver from
 Google that needs loads of work and the erofs filesystem.

 Even with adding all of the new drivers and a new filesystem, we are
 only adding about 1000 lines overall to the kernel linecount, which
 shows just how much cleanup happened, and how big the unused crypto
 driver was.

 All of these have been in the linux-next tree for a while now with no
 reported issues.

 Note, you will have a merge problem with a device tree IIO file and the
 MAINTAINERS file, both resolutions are easy, just take all changed.
 There will be a skein file merge issue as well, but that file got
 deleted so just drop that.

2049a9e56a Input: pm8941-pwrkey - abstract register offsets and event code
In order to support resin thru the pwrkey driver (they are very
similar in nature) we need to abstract the handling in this driver.

First we abstract pull_up_bit and status_bit along in driver data.
The event code sent for key events is quiried from DT.

Since the device can be child of pon lookup regmap and reg from
parent if lookup fails (we are child).

791d3ef2e1 dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindings
'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but
it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required
in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can
be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So
remove it from all the binding files.

f62252bf39 First set of IIO new device support, features and cleanups in the 4.19 cycle
The usual mixed bunch. Particular good to see is the generic
 touch screen driver. Will be interesting to see if this works
 for other ADCs without major changes.

 Core features
 * Channel types
   - New position relative channel type primarily for touch screen
     sensors to feed the generic touchscreen driver.

 New device support
 * ad5586
   - Add support for the AD5311R DAC.

 * Generic touch screen driver as an IIO consumer.
   - Note this is in input, but due to dependencies is coming through
     the IIO tree.
   - Specific support for this added to the at91-sama5d2 ADC.
   - Various necessary DT bindings added.

 Staging Drops
 * ADIS16060 gyro
   - A device with a very odd interface that was never cleanly supported.
     It's now very difficult to get, so unlikely it'll ever be fixed up.

 Cleanups and minor features and fixes
 * core
   - Fix y2038 timestamp issues now the core support is in place.
 * 104-quad-8
   - Provide some defines for magic numbers to help readability.
   - Fix an off by one error in register selection
 * ad7606
   - Put in a missing function parameter name in a prototype.
 * adis16023
   - Use generic sign_extend function rather than local version.
 * adis16240
   - Use generic sign_extend funciton rather than local version.
 * at91-sama5d2
   - Drop dependency on HAS_DMA now this is handled elsewhere. Will
     improve build test coverage.

Merge tag 'iio-for-4.19a' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jic23/iio into staging-next

Jonathan writes:

First set of IIO new device support, features and cleanups in the 4.19 cycle

The usual mixed bunch. Particular good to see is the generic
touch screen driver. Will be interesting to see if this works
for other ADCs without major changes.

Core features
* Channel types
  - New position relative channel type primarily for touch screen
    sensors to feed the generic touchscreen driver.

New device support
* ad5586

* ADIS16060 gyro
  - A device with a very odd interface that was never cleanly supported.
    It's now very difficult to get, so unlikely it'll ever be fixed up.

Cleanups and minor features and fixes
* core
  - Fix y2038 timestamp issues now the core support is in place.
* 104-quad-8
  - Provide some defines for magic numbers to help readability.
  - Fix an off by one error in register selection
* ad7606
  - Put in a missing function parameter name in a prototype.
* adis16023
  - Use generic sign_extend function rather than local version.
* adis16240
  - Use generic sign_extend funciton rather than local version.
* at91-sama5d2
  - Drop dependency on HAS_DMA now this is handled elsewhere. Will
    improve build test coverage.
  - Add oversampling ratio control. Note there is a minor ABI change
    here to increase the apparent depth to 14 bits so as to allow
    for transparent provision of different oversampling ratios that
    drop the actual bit depth to 13 or 12 bits.
* hx711

    handling.

  - Fix an unaligned access that didn't seem to be causing any trouble.

The Elan touchpads over I2C/SMBus also can handle a trackstick.
Unfortunately, nothing tells us if the device supports trackstick (the

f6eeb9e548 Input: atmel_mxt_ts - add missing compatible strings to OF device table
Commit af503716ac ("i2c: core: report OF style module alias for devices
registered via OF") fixed how the I2C core reports the module alias when
devices are registered via OF.

But the atmel_mxt_ts driver only has an "atmel,maxtouch" compatible in its
OF device ID table, so if a Device Tree is using a different one, autoload
won't be working for the module (the matching works because the I2C device
ID table is used as a fallback).

So add compatible strings for each of the entries in the I2C device table.

eca3be9b95 Input: silead - add support for capactive home button found on some x86 tablets
On some x86 tablets with a silead touchscreen the windows logo on the
front is a capacitive home button. Touching this button results in a touch
with bits 12-15 of the Y coordinates set, while normally only the lower 12
are used.

Detect this and report a KEY_LEFTMETA press when this happens. Note for
now we only respond to the Y coordinate bits 12-15 containing 0x01, on some
tablets *without* a capacative button I've noticed these bits containing
0x04 when crossing the edges of the screen.

7e577a17f2 Input: add I2C attached EETI EXC3000 multi touch driver
The 3000 series have a new protocol which allows to report up to 5 points
in a single 66 byte frame. One must always read in 66 byte frames.
To support up to 10 points, two consecutive frames need to be read:
The first frame says how many points until sync.
The second frame must say zero points or both frames must be discarded.

To be able to work with the higher 400KHz I2C bus rate, one must
successfully send a special package prior _each_ read or the controller
will refuse to cooperate.

This is a minimal implementation based on egalax_i2c.c (which can be found

power management support.

Support was added based on Goodix GitHub repo [1]. There are two major
differences between gt1151 and currently supported devices (gt9x):
 * CONFIG_DATA register has 0x8050 address instead of 0x8047,
 * config data checksum has 16-bit width instead of 8-bit.

Also update goodix_i2c_test() function, so it reads ID register (which
has the same address for all devices) instead of CONFIG_DATA (because
its address is known only after reading ID of the device).

78bcac7b2a Input: add support for the STMicroelectronics FingerTip touchscreen
The stmfts (ST-Microelectronics FingerTip S) touchscreen device is a
capacitive multi-touch controller mainly for mobile use. It's connected
through i2c bus at the address 0x49 and it interfaces with userspace
through input event interface.

At the current state it provides a touchscreen multitouch functionality up
to 10 fingers. Each finger is enumerated with a distinctive id (from 0 to
9).

If enabled the device can support single "touch" hovering, by providing
three coordinates, x, y and distance.

It is possible to select the touchkey functionality which provides a basic
two keys interface for "home" and "back" menu, typical in mobile phones.

aa3d4409b6 Input: edt-ft5x06 - increase allowed data range for threshold parameter
The datasheet and application note does not mention an allowed range for
the M09_REGISTER_THRESHOLD parameter. One of our customers needs to set
lower values than 20 and they seem to work just fine on EDT EP0xx0M09 with
T5x06 touch.

So, lacking a known lower limit, we increase the range for thresholds,
and set the lower limit to 0. The documentation is updated accordingly.

The i.MX6UL internal touchscreen controller contains an option to
average upon samples. This feature reduces noise from the produced
touch locations.

This patch adds sample averaging support to the imx6ul_tsc device
driver.

406d5a2de0 Input: da9062 - update bindings docs to account for da9061
Add binding information for DA9061 onkey.

This patch updates the compatible string "dlg,da9061-onkey" to support
DA9061, removes the reference to KEY_SLEEP (which the driver no longer
supports) and fixes a typo in the example for DA9063.

Supporting KEY_SLEEP was not the general convention and the typical
solution should have been for KEY_POWER to support both cases of suspend
and S/W power off. This change was sent to the DA9063 ONKEY device
driver in a separate patch, but the documentation was not updated at
that time.
- f889bea Report KEY_POWER instead of KEY_SLEEP during power key-press

This patch also adds two new examples, one for DA9062 and one for DA9061.
The DA9061 examples uses a fall-back compatible string for the DA9062
onkey driver.

43ba588346 Input: silead_gsl1680 - document firmware-name, fix implementation
The driver has supported touchscreen-fw-name to specify the firmware to
load since it has been merged, but this was omitted from the dt-binding
documentation.

During review of adding touchscreen-fw-name to the binding documentation
it was brought up that there is a standard property name called
"firmware-name" for this, which should be used.

Since there are no users of touchscreen-fw-name yet, this commit
adds documentation of "firmware-name" to the dt-binding documentation
and switches the driver over to use this.

This commit also makes the driver add a "silead/" prefix to the
firmware name from dt before calling request_firmware. That the
firmware files are stored under /lib/firmware/silead under Linux
is an implementation detail and does not belong in devicetree.

The change corrects an example in device tree documentation section,
because button/key device nodes don't contain reg property there is

are also redundant.

At the moment a compilation of the hypothetical original example
should produce W=1 level warnings, and it is better to stop spreading
misusage of the polled gpio keys device tree binding through this

6946416164 Input: add generic input driver to read encoded GPIO lines
Add a driver to read group of GPIO lines and provide its status as a
numerical value as input event to the system. This will help in
interfacing devices, that can be connected over GPIOs, that provide
input to the system by driving GPIO lines connected to them like a
rotary dial or a switch.

For example, a rotary switch can be connected to four GPIO lines. The
status of the GPIO lines reflect the actual position of the rotary
switch dial. For example, if dial points to 9, then the four GPIO lines
connected to the switch will read HLLH(0b'1001 = 9). This value
can be reported as an ABS_* event to the input subsystem.
