drm: bridge: dw_hdmi: default enable workaround to clear the overflow
i.MX8MPlus (v2.13a) has verified need the workaround to clear the
overflow with one iteration.
Only i.MX6Q(v1.30a) need the workaround with 4 iterations,
the others versions later than v1.3a have been identified as needing
the workaround with a single iteration.

Default enable the workaround with one iteration for all versions
later than v1.30a.

drm: bridge: panel: Register connector if DRM device is already registered
If panel_bridge_attach() happens after DRM device registration, the
created connector will not be registered by the DRM core anymore. Fix
this by registering it explicitly in such case.

This fixes the following issue observed on Samsung Exynos4210-based Trats
board with a DSI panel (the panel driver is registered after the Exynos DRM
component device is bound):

$ ./modetest -c -Mexynos
could not get connector 56: No such file or directory
Segmentation fault

While touching this, move the connector reset() call also under the DRM
device registered check, because otherwise it is not really needed.

drm/bridge: lt9211: Add Lontium LT9211 bridge driver
Add driver for Lontium LT9211 Single/Dual-Link DSI/LVDS or Single DPI to
Single-link/Dual-Link DSI/LVDS or Single DPI bridge. This chip is highly
capable at converting formats, but sadly it is also highly undocumented.

This driver is written without any documentation from Lontium and based
only on shreds of information available in various obscure example codes,
hence long runs of unknown register patches and lengthy delays in various
places. Whichever register meaning could be divined from its behavior has
at least a comment around it.

Currently the only mode tested is Single-link DSI to Single-link LVDS.
Dual-link LVDS might work as well, the register programming is in place,
but is untested.

drm/bridge: display-connector: add ddc-en gpio support
"hdmi-connector.yaml" bindings defines an optional property
"ddc-en-gpios" for a single gpio to enable DDC operation.

Usually this controls +5V power on the HDMI connector.
This +5V may also be needed for HPD.

This was not reflected in code but is needed to make the CI20
board work.

Now, the driver activates the ddc gpio after probe and
deactivates after remove so it is "almost on".

But only if this driver is loaded (and not e.g. blacklisted
as module).

21d139a956 drm: bridge: icn6211: Fix DSI-to-DPI PLL configuration
The datasheet for this bridge is not available, the PLL behavior has been
inferred from [1] and [2] and by analyzing the DPI pixel clock with scope.
After further testing with other displays and different DSI data lane count,
it turns out the P-factor is not 1/2^N divider, but rather only 1/N divider.
It also turns out the input into the PLL seem to be ByteClock instead of DSI
HS clock.

Rework the P-factor calculation such that the PLL calculation code handles
P-factor from 1..32 with P-factors above 16 must be even. In case P-factor
is even, enable built-in 1:2 divider and program P-factor/2 to PLL_REF_DIV,
otherwise configure only the P-factor into PLL_REF_DIV register.

Switch the PLL factor calculation from kHz to Hz to maintain precision.

Revert "drm/bridge: dw-mipi-dsi: Find the possible DSI devices"
This reverts commit c206c7faeb.

In order to avoid any probe ordering issues, the I2C based downstream
bridge drivers now register and attach the DSI devices at the probe
instead of doing it on drm_bridge_function.attach().

Examples of those commits are:

commit <6ef7ee48765f> ("drm/bridge: sn65dsi83: Register and attach our
DSI device at probe")
commit <d89078c37b10> ("drm/bridge: lt8912b: Register and attach our DSI
device at probe")
commit <864c49a31d6b> ("drm/bridge: adv7511: Register and attach our DSI
device at probe")

dw-mipi-dsi has panel or bridge finding code based on previous downstream
bridges, so revert the same and make the panel or bridge funding in host
attach as before.

drm: bridge: icn6211: Add generic DSI-to-DPI PLL configuration
The chip contains fractional PLL, however the driver currently hard-codes
one specific PLL setting. Implement generic PLL parameter calculation code,
so any DPI panel with arbitrary pixel clock can be attached to this bridge.

The datasheet for this bridge is not available, the PLL behavior has been
inferred from [1] and [2] and by analyzing the DPI pixel clock with scope.
The PLL limits might be wrong, but at least the calculated values match all
the example code available. This is better than one hard-coded pixel clock
value anyway.

drm: bridge: icn6211: Fix HFP_HSW_HBP_HI and HFP_MIN handling
The HFP_HSW_HBP_HI register must be programmed with 2 LSbits of each

The HFP_MIN register must be set to the same value as HFP_LI, otherwise

Fix this by correctly programming the HFP_HSW_HBP_HI and HFP_MIN registers.

So reset the atomic state for a given connector by freeing the state pointer
and allocate a new empty state object. This can be done using connector
funcs->reset helper and has to be done before the hotplug even calls.

This patch calls the connector->funcs->reset in panel_bridge_attach.

drm: bridge: tc358764: Use drm panel_bridge API
Replace the manual panel handling code by a drm panel_bridge via

Adding panel_bridge handling,

- Drops panel pointer and panel healpers.

This simplifies the driver and allows all components in the display

drm/bridge: tc358767: Add DSI-to-DPI mode support
The TC358767/TC358867/TC9595 are all capable of operating in multiple
modes, DPI-to-(e)DP, DSI-to-(e)DP, DSI-to-DPI. Add support for the
DSI-to-DPI mode.

This requires skipping most of the (e)DP initialization code, which is
currently a large part of this driver, hence it is better to have far
simpler separate tc_dpi_bridge_funcs and their implementation.

The configuration of DPI output is also much simpler. The configuration
of the DSI input is rather similar to the other TC bridge chips.

The Pixel PLL in DPI output mode does not have the 65..150 MHz limitation
imposed on the (e)DP output mode, so this limitation is skipped to permit
operating panels with far slower pixel clock, even below 9 MHz. This mode
of operation of the PLL is valid and tested.

The detection of bridge mode is now added into tc_probe_bridge_mode(),
where in case a DPI panel is found on port@1 endpoint@1, the mode is
assumed to be DSI-to-DPI. If (e)DP is detected on port@2, the mode is
assumed to be DPI-to-(e)DP.

The DSI-to-(e)DP mode is not supported due to lack of proper hardware,
but this would be some sort of mix between the two aforementioned modes.

3c3384050d drm: Don't make DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE dependent on DRM_KMS_HELPERS
Fix a number of undefined references to drm_kms_helper.ko in
drm_dp_helper.ko:

  arm-suse-linux-gnueabi-ld: drivers/gpu/drm/dp/drm_dp_mst_topology.o: in function `drm_dp_mst_duplicate_state':
  drm_dp_mst_topology.c:(.text+0x2df0): undefined reference to `__drm_atomic_helper_private_obj_duplicate_state'

  arm-suse-linux-gnueabi-ld: drivers/gpu/drm/dp/drm_dp_mst_topology.o: in function `drm_dp_mst_link_probe_work':
  drm_dp_mst_topology.c:(.text+0x82e0): undefined reference to `drm_kms_helper_hotplug_event'

This happens if panel-edp.ko has been configured with

  DRM_PANEL_EDP=y
  DRM_DP_HELPER=y
  DRM_KMS_HELPER=m

which builds DP helpers into the kernel and KMS helpers sa a module.
Making DRM_PANEL_EDP select DRM_KMS_HELPER resolves this problem.

To avoid a resulting cyclic dependency with DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE, don't
make the latter depend on DRM_KMS_HELPER and fix the one DRM bridge
drivers that doesn't already select DRM_KMS_HELPER. As KMS helpers
cannot be selected directly by the user, config symbols should avoid
depending on it anyway.

d008bc331f drm/bridge: Use drm_mode_copy()
struct drm_display_mode embeds a list head, so overwriting
the full struct with another one will corrupt the list
(if the destination mode is on a list). Use drm_mode_copy()
instead which explicitly preserves the list head of
the destination mode.

Even if we know the destination mode is not on any list
using drm_mode_copy() seems decent as it sets a good
example. Bad examples of not using it might eventually
get copied into code where preserving the list head
actually matters.

Obviously one case not covered here is when the mode
itself is embedded in a larger structure and the whole
structure is copied. But if we are careful when copying
into modes embedded in structures I think we can be a
little more reassured that bogus list heads haven't been
propagated in.

8fb6c44fe8 drm/bridge: analogix_dp: Grab runtime PM reference for DP-AUX
If the display is not enable()d, then we aren't holding a runtime PM

Let's get a runtime PM reference, and check that we "see" the panel.
Don't force any panel power-up, etc., because that can be intrusive, and
that's not what other drivers do (see

2509969a98 drm: Plumb debugfs_init through to panels
We'd like panels to be able to add things to debugfs underneath the
connector's directory. Let's plumb it through. A panel will be able to
put things in a "panel" directory under the connector's
directory. Note that debugfs is not ABI and so it's always possible
that the location that the panel gets for its debugfs could change in
the future.

NOTE: this currently only works if you're using a modern
architecture. Specifically the plumbing relies on _both_
drm_bridge_connector and drm_panel_bridge. If you're not using one or
both of these things then things won't be plumbed through.

As a side effect of this change, drm_bridges can also get callbacks to
put stuff underneath the connector's debugfs directory. At the moment
all bridges in the chain have their debugfs_init() called with the
connector's root directory.

e283820cbf drm/bridge: ti-sn65dsi86: Use drm_bridge_connector
The ti-sn65dsi86 driver shouldn't hand-roll its own bridge
connector. It should use the normal drm_bridge_connector. Let's switch
to do that, removing all of the custom code.

NOTE: this still _doesn't_ implement DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR
support for ti-sn65dsi86 and that would still be a useful thing to do
in the future. It was attempted in the past [1] but put on the back
burner. However, unless we instantly change ti-sn65dsi86 fully from
not supporting DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR at all to _only_
supporting DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR then we'll still need a bit
of time when we support both. This is a better way to support the old
way where the driver hand rolls things itself.

A new notes about the implementation here:
* When using the drm_bridge_connector the connector should be created
after all the bridges, so we change the ordering a bit.
* I'm reasonably certain that we don't need to do anything to "free"
the new drm_bridge_connector. If drm_bridge_connector_init() returns
success then we know drm_connector_init() was called with the
  `drm_bridge_connector_funcs`. The `drm_bridge_connector_funcs` has a
.destroy() that does all the cleanup. drm_connector_init() calls
  __drm_mode_object_add() with a drm_connector_free() that will call
  the .destroy().
* I'm also reasonably certain that I don't need to "undo" the
  drm_bridge_attach() if drm_bridge_connector_init() fails. The
"detach" function is private and other similar code doesn't try to
undo the drm_bridge_attach() in error cases. There's also a comment
indicating the lack of balance at the top of drm_bridge_attach().

1. panel is populated in devm_of_dp_aux_populate_ep_devices(), so move
   anx7625_parse_dt() after.
2. Use pm runtime autosuspend since aux transfer function is called
   multiple times when reading edid.

1528038385 drm/bridge: dw-hdmi: use safe format when first in bridge chain
When the dw-hdmi bridge is in first place of the bridge chain, this
means there is no way to select an input format of the dw-hdmi HW
component.

Since introduction of display-connector, negotiation was broken since
the dw-hdmi negotiation code only worked when the dw-hdmi bridge was
in last position of the bridge chain or behind another bridge also
supporting input & output format negotiation.

Commit 7cd70656d1 ("drm/bridge: display-connector: implement bus fmts callbacks")
was introduced to make negotiation work again by making display-connector
act as a pass-through concerning input & output format negotiation.

But in the case where the dw-hdmi is single in the bridge chain, for
example on Renesas SoCs, with the display-connector bridge the dw-hdmi
is no more single, breaking output format.

9a8406ba1a phy: dphy: Correct clk_pre parameter
The D-PHY specification (v1.2) explicitly mentions that the T-CLK-PRE
parameter's unit is Unit Interval(UI) and the minimum value is 8. Also,
kernel doc of the 'clk_pre' member of struct phy_configure_opts_mipi_dphy
mentions that it should be in UI. However, the dphy core driver wrongly
sets 'clk_pre' to 8000, which seems to hint that it's in picoseconds.

So, let's fix the dphy core driver to correctly reflect the T-CLK-PRE
parameter's minimum value according to the D-PHY specification.

I'm assuming that all impacted custom drivers shall program values in
TxByteClkHS cycles into hardware for the T-CLK-PRE parameter. The D-PHY
specification mentions that the frequency of TxByteClkHS is exactly 1/8
the High-Speed(HS) bit rate(each HS bit consumes one UI). So, relevant
custom driver code is changed to program those values as
DIV_ROUND_UP(cfg->clk_pre, BITS_PER_BYTE), then.

Note that I've only tested the patch with RM67191 DSI panel on i.MX8mq EVK.
Help is needed to test with other i.MX8mq, Meson and Rockchip platforms,
as I don't have the hardwares.

Move DisplayPort functions into a separate module to reduce the size

This change can help to reduce the size of the kernel binary. Some
numbers from a x86-64 test build:

Before:
	drm_kms_helper.ko:	447480 bytes

After:
	drm_dp_helper.ko:	216632 bytes
	drm_kms_helper.ko:	239424 bytes

For early-boot graphics, generic DRM drivers, such as simpledrm,
require DRM KMS helpers to be built into the kernel. Generic helper
functions for DisplayPort take up a significant portion of DRM KMS
helper library. These functions are not used by generic drivers and
can be loaded as a module.

aa70a0996b drm/bridge: parade-ps8640: Fix additional suspend/resume at bootup
Through log and waveform, we can see that there will be additional
suspend/resume when booting. This timing does not meet the ps8640 spec.
It seems that the delay of 500ms does not satisfied drm_panel_get_modes.
I increased it to 900ms and it seems that this problem can be solved.
To be safe, I'd just round up to a full 1000.

7cd70656d1 drm/bridge: display-connector: implement bus fmts callbacks
Since this bridge is tied to the connector, it acts like a passthrough,
so concerning the output & input bus formats, either pass the bus formats from the
previous bridge or return fallback data like done in the bridge function:
drm_atomic_bridge_chain_select_bus_fmts() & select_bus_fmt_recursive.

This permits avoiding skipping the negociation if the remaining bridge chain has
all the bits in place.

Without this bus fmt negociation breaks on drm/meson HDMI pipeline when attaching
dw-hdmi with DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR, because the last bridge of the
display-connector doesn't implement buf fmt callbacks and MEDIA_BUS_FMT_FIXED
is used leading to select an unsupported default bus format from dw-hdmi.

3f2532d65a drm/bridge: dw-hdmi: handle ELD when DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR
The current ELD handling takes the internal connector ELD buffer and
shares it to the I2S and AHB sub-driver.

But with DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR, the connector is created
elsewhere (or not), and an eventual connector is known only
if the bridge chain up to a connector is enabled.

The current dw-hdmi code gets the current connector from
atomic_enable() so use the already stored connector pointer and
replace the buffer pointer with a callback returning the current
connector ELD buffer.

Since a connector is not always available, either pass an empty
ELD to the alsa HDMI driver or don't call snd_pcm_hw_constraint_eld()
in AHB driver.

e9d9f9582c drm/bridge: parade-ps8640: Populate devices on aux-bus
Conventionally, panel is listed under the root of the device tree.
When userland asks for display mode, ps8640 bridge is responsible
for returning EDID when ps8640_bridge_get_edid() is called.

Now enable a new option of listing panel under "aux-bus" of ps8640
bridge node in the device tree. In this case, panel driver can retrieve
EDID by triggering AUX transactions, without ps8640_bridge_get_edid()
calls at all.

To prevent the "old" and "new" options from interfering with each
other's logic flow, disable DRM_BRIDGE_OP_EDID when the new option
is taken.

proxied by GPIO9) (3) the other configs. As runtime_resume() can be
called before panel is powered, we only add (1) to _resume() and leave
(2)(3) to _pre_enable(). We also add (2) to _aux_transfer() as we want
to ensure panel HPD is asserted before we start AUX CH transactions.

Second, the original driver has a mysterious delay of 50 ms between (2)
and (3). Since Parade's support can't explain what the delay is for,
and we don't see removing the delay break any boards at hand, remove
the delay to fit into this driver change.

In addition, rename "powered" to "pre_enabled" and don't check for it
in the pm_runtime calls. The pm_runtime calls are already refcounted
so there's no reason to check there. The other user of "powered",
_get_edid(), only cares if pre_enable() has already been called.

Lastly, change some existing DRM_...() logging to dev_...() along the
way, since DRM_...() seem to be deprecated in [1].

drm/bridge: analogix_dp: Make PSR-exit block less
Prior to commit 6c836d965b ("drm/rockchip: Use the helpers for PSR"),
"PSR exit" used non-blocking analogix_dp_send_psr_spd(). The refactor
started using the blocking variant, for a variety of reasons -- quoting
Sean Paul's potentially-faulty memory:

"""
 - To avoid racing a subsequent PSR entry (if exit takes a long time)
 - To avoid racing disable/modeset
 - We're not displaying new content while exiting PSR anyways, so there
is minimal utility in allowing frames to be submitted
 - We're lying to userspace telling them frames are on the screen when
we're just dropping them on the floor
"""

However, I'm finding that this blocking transition is causing upwards of
60+ ms of unneeded latency on PSR-exit, to the point that initial cursor
movements when leaving PSR are unbearably jumpy.

It turns out that we need to meet in the middle somewhere: Sean is right
that we were "lying to userspace" with a non-blocking PSR-exit, but the
new blocking behavior is also waiting too long:

According to the eDP specification, the sink device must support PSR
entry transitions from both state 4 (ACTIVE_RESYNC) and state 0
(INACTIVE). It also states that in ACTIVE_RESYNC, "the Sink device must
display the incoming active frames from the Source device with no
visible glitches and/or artifacts."

Thus, for our purposes, we only need to wait for ACTIVE_RESYNC before
moving on; we are ready to display video, and subsequent PSR-entry is
safe.

Tested on a Samsung Chromebook Plus (i.e., Rockchip RK3399 Gru Kevin),
where this saves about 60ms of latency, for PSR-exit that used to
take about 80ms.
