Now that the copy-firmware.sh script can create symlinks from the Link:
entries in the WHENCE file on the fly, remove the duplicate symlinks
from the filesystem.
One odd entry was intel/dsp_fw_cnl.bin which was listed both as symlink
and as a regular file. Both entries can be removed since the it's really
a symlink, so it will be recreated at installation time.
While at it, update the check_whence.py script to not look for the
existence of symlinks in the filesystem because they are created on the
fly at installation time by the copy_firmware.sh script.

The symbolic links in the filesystem sometimes don't match the Link:
tags in the WHENCE file. Update the WHENCE file to contain the right
symlinks.

The ice driver must load a package file to the firmware to utilize full
functionality; add the package file to /lib/firmware/intel/ice/ddp. Also
add a symlink, ice.pkg, so the driver can refer to the package by a
consistent name.

firmware to distribute resources before chip bring up. Chelsio NIC
driver, cxgb4 searches for firmware config file at /lib/firmware/cxgb4/
directory.
Two predefined configuration files are available – default and
hashfilter. Default configuration file equally distributes
resources across all features, such as iSCSI, iWARP, Crypto, etc.
On the other hand, hashfilter configuration file borrows some
resources by disabling the iSCSI, iWARP, Crypto, etc. features,
and redistributes them to increase offloading more number of flows
to hardware via tc-flower.

Add the firmwares for various video compression standards that are
required to decode video on Amlogic SoCs using hardware acceleration.
They are listed under a custom redistributable license provided by
Amlogic.
Although the filelist is not complete yet (there are a _lot_ of
different codec/SoC combinations), the firmwares added here are
supported and tested with the work-in-progress mainline driver.
The latest submission for the mainline driver can be found here[1], and
the development tree can be found here[2].

Add AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) firmware to allow for the
updating of the SEV firmware outside of BIOS releases. Naming convention
and directory structure follows the convention defined in the kernel
driver in drivers/crypto/ccp/psp-dev.c
SEV firmware files are to be placed in the "amd" directory and names
should follow the pattern: amd_sev_fam<FAMILY>h_model<MODEL>h.sbin
where FAMILY is the two-digit hexadecimal value of the target processor
family (e.g. 17)
where MODEL is the two-digit hexadecimal value of the target processor
model (e.g. 01) or where the least significant nibble of the two-digit
hexadecimal value can be an 'x' to indicate a range of models
(e.g. 0x for 00 to of).
The firmware provided is version 0.17 build 11 and is for AMD family
17h processors with models in the range 00h to 0fh.

Lemaker, the manufacturer of the Banana Pro board has always shipped
the NVRAM file from the Cubietech Cubietruck wifi for use with the
Ampak AP6181 43362 WiFi/BT module on the Banana Pro.
This commit adds a symlink from brcmfmac43362-sdio.lemaker,bananapro.txt
to brcm/brcmfmac43362-sdio.cubietech,cubietruck.txt to match this, making
the Wifi on the Banana Pro work OOTB.

These files come from the RealtekBluetoothUartPackage_2.17.119.0525 file
which can be downloaded from realtek.com. The download is marked as version
1.0.245.3 / 05/08/2017 on the download page.
The added rtl_bt/rtl8723bs_fw.bin file is called
rtl8723b_mp_bt40_fw_asic_rom_patch.bin in the download.
The added rtl_bt/rtl8723bs_config-OBDA8723.bin file is the
rtl8723b_config_internal.bin file with the UART baudrate changed to
1500000 bps.
I've examined aprox. 20 different Intel BYT/CHT boards, with an RTL8723BS
with the OBDA8723 ACPI ID for the bluetooth part. On these boards the
original firmware image uses either 1500000 or 3000000 bps, so 1500000 bps
is chosen as the safe option which should work everywhere.

Part of the code inside the lio_vsw_23xx.bin firmware image is under GPL,
but the LICENCE.cavium file neglects to indicate that. However,
LICENCE.cavium does correctly specify the license that covers the other
Cavium firmware images that do not contain any GPL code.
Fix the GPL compliance issue by adding a new file, LICENCE.cavium_liquidio,
which correctly shows the GPL boilerplate. This new file specifies the
licenses for all liquidio firmware, including the ones that do not have
GPL code.
Change the liquidio section of WHENCE to point to LICENCE.cavium_liquidio.

Netronome supports eBPF offload for XDP and cls_bpf on Agilio SmartNICs.
The upstream kernel driver allows for the translation of kernel eBPF
programs into microcode. This firmware supports the eBPF microcode
generated by the in-kernel Just-in-Time (JIT) compiler. Firmware
also provides support for driver to enable bpftool to inspect and
manage offloaded eBPF maps and programs.

This adds TIInit_6.2.31.bts and TIInit_6.6.15.bts for TI CC2560 and
CC2560A Bluetooth chips. These are found in LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3, which
has mainline kernel support now.
The versions listed are the ones given on the TI wiki[1] where the files
were obtained. The version in parentheses are the ones found in the
files themselves.
These files are redistributable under the same LICENCE.ti-connectivity that
is used by other TI firmwares.

Symlinks have been added because existing driver in mainline kernel is already
merged and expects the files there. For future version of the firmware (or newer
hardware) we will fixup the search path, but the symlinks are needed to work
with released kernels.

This new firmware for the qed* adapters fixes multiple issues:
- Prevent accidental drops in Tx-switching between VFs.
- Corrct VF cleanup for higher VFs.
- Better handling of RoCE error flows.
- MR registration/deregistration corrections.
- Prevent possible HW attention during offloaded TCP teardown.
- Corrections to iSCSI retransmit flows.
In addition, this firmware is a requirement for supporting the
QL41xxx series of adapters, as it contains the necessary init
and firmware logic for those.

This new firmware for the qed* adpaters fixes several issues:
- Better blocking of malicious VFs.
- After FLR, Tx-switching [internal routing] of packets might
be incorrect.
- Deletion of unicast MAC filters would sometime have side-effect
of corrupting the MAC filters configred for a device.
It also contains fixes for future qed* drivers that *hopefully* would be
sent for review in the near future.

1.26 is the stable and recommended firmware for Skylake.
However one conflict in i915 accidentally restored 1.23
making that the default in some kernel out there.

this patch fixes the firmware filename for WsP to align with
that patch.

i915 now loads the specific major/minor version of the firmware
instead of loading the symbolic links.
So this patch also removes symbolic links from the firmware
components that never had the firmware loaded directly and
let the symbolic links only for the cases where some versions
of i915 might load the symbolic link while new versions loads
the file directly.
I considered making copies but this would
increase this repository size in ~ 25%.
The symbolic links now on shall never be updated.

The new QED firmware contains several new additions;
As for bug-fixes, it fixes a couple of issues:
- Wrong classification of packets in 4-port devices.
- Anti-spoof interoperability with encapsulated packets.
- Tx-switching of encapsulated packets.
It also slightly improves Tx performance in several scenarios.
>From the driver's feature-set POV, this firmware would
allow us to add 2 major enhancements in the near future:
- It would allow us produce a register dump from the device,
as well as other debug-related information.
- It should be sufficient for our iscsi driver, which we [hopefully]
plan to push upstream soon.

This patch adds a firmware for the USB 3.0 host controllers of Renesas
R-Car M3-W SoC.
- This firmware is possible to be used on R-Car H2 and M2. However,
this version causes performance degradation on such SoCs.
- This firmware is impossible to be used on R-Car H3 because data
transfer might not work correctly.
So, we would like to keep the v1 and v2 firmware.

This patch pushes the next firmware for the QED module.
This fixes numerous bugs, most notably:
- FLR flow isn't properly working.
- Chip might become unrespronsive after closing a vport.
- Chip gets stuck when transmitting packet with length > mtu.
It would also allow us to push future features such as:
- Vlan filter offload.
- Encapsulation offload.
- Single Root IOV support.
- Timesync.
- Non-L2 protocols.
>From L2 perspecitve, it's also note-worthy to state that it:
- Changes fastpath HSI - fastpath will be moved to into using
Jumbo-over-BD.
- Improves throughput on single connection traffic.

The code points to the major version that is a link to the most
recent one, so we can remove the old firmware blobs.
For tests and validation purposes we will let few minor versions
available, but we need to let linux-firmware repo as

The code points to the major version that is a link to the most
recent one, so we can remove the old firmware blobs.
For tests and validation purposes we will let at least 3 latest
minor available, but we need to let linux-firmware repo as
clean as possible, so let's remove old and unused ones.

The new FW will allow us to utilize some new features in our driver,
mainly adding vlan stripping offload and vxlan offload support.
In addition, this fixes several issues:
- Packets from a VF with pvid configured which were sent with a
different vlan were transmitted instead of being discarded.
- FCoE traffic might not recover after a failue while there's traffic
to another function.

The atusb kernel driver is sitting in the bluetooth-next tree waiting for the
merge window to open. It's scheduled for 4.2.
Flashing goes into permanent storage and the GPLv2+ firmware allows for further

1. The DE_RRMR and DE_GUCRMR register bits are set before the restore of
the registers to mask the flip done, etc. Once all the registers are
restored, these registers are restored.
2. The pipe interrupt registers are restored only after the plane has
been enabled.

points for increased number of versions that can be supported.

capability to save and restore display registers across these
low-power states independently from the OS/Kernel.

GuC is designed to perform graphics workload scheduling on the various
graphics parallel engines. In this scheduling model, host software
submits work through one of the 256 graphics doorbells and this invokes
the scheduling operation on the appropriate graphics engine. Scheduling
operations include determining which workload to run next, submitting a
workload to a command streamer, pre-empting existing workloads running
on an engine, monitoring progress and notifying host SW when work is
done.
This is the first release of GuC firmware for Skylake platforms.

By uploading these firmware files to the Realtek Bluetooth HCD
(on the USB bus), the HCD becomes compliant with standard btusb
interfaces. The code to automatically upload the firmware has
been already upstreamed and it is currently in linux-next.

Newer devices use xc5000c, and require a different firmware.
Add firmware file for for it. The licensing company is different,
because Xceive was bougth by Cresta. So, while the license terms
are the same, the Copyright owner is different.

This firmware includes many fixes such as:
- (L2) In some multi-function configurations, inter-PF and inter-VF
Tx switching is incorrectly enabled.
- (L2) Wrong assert code in FLR final cleanup in case it is sent not
after FLR.
- (L2) Chip may stall in very rare cases under heavy traffic with FW GRO
enabled.
- (L2) VF malicious notification error fixes.
- (L2) Default gre tunnel to IPGRE which allows proper RSS for IPGRE packets,
L2GRE traffic will reach single queue.
- (FCoE) Fix data being placed in wrong buffer when corrupt FCoE frame is
received.
- (FCoE) Burst of FIP packets with destination MAC of ALL-FCF_MACs
causes FCoE traffic to stop.

This is the newer version of mfc-v6 firmware which can
be used in exynos5250 based boards. This has many bug fixes
and enhancements. To maintain backward compatibility, the older
firmware file is still retained and the new file is added with
the name s5p-mfc-v6-v2.fw. This new firmware handling is supported
with the below patches in s5p-mfc driver:

This new firmware fixes several bugs:
1. HW attention appears and traffic stops when iSCSI firmware tries to
retransmit iSCSI login command when the iSCSI login is carrying data
not aligned to 4-bytes.
2. FCoE traffic fails to run when running in switch-independent multi-function
mode and there's more than one interface supporting FCoE on a given port.
3. While two ports are running FCoE with at least one of them has a function
number (>1) on the same engine in a 4-port device a zeroed CQE is given,
causing FCoE traffic to stop.

The firmware name used in brcmfmac for SDIO devices was named
generically as brcmfmac-sdio.bin. To use the brcmfmac SDIO driver
the user had to copy the appropriate firmware to brcmfmac-sdio.bin.
This turned out to be inconvenient for developers switching different
devices on their system so brcmfmac was changed to use chip specific
filenames according format brcmfmac<chipid>-sdio.bin. This patch renames
the existing SDIO firmware files to match this format.

calibration and initialization tables for for their WLAN modules.
Please note that the cw1200 driver still requires firmware files, which

The go7007 staging driver has been substantially overhauled for kernel 3.10.
As part of that process the firmware situation has been improved as well.
While Micronas allowed the firmware to be redistributed, it was never made
part of linux-firmware. Only the firmwares for the Sensoray S2250 were added
in the past, but those need the go7007*.bin firmwares as well to work.
This pull request collects all the firmwares necessary to support all the
go7007 devices into the go7007 directory. With this change the go7007 driver
will work out-of-the-box starting with kernel 3.10.
This is used by drivers/tty/serial/rp2.c.

The go7007 staging driver has been overhauled and is now in decent shape. As
part of that work all related firmware files were collected into one place
(the /lib/firmware/go7007 directory) and the .hex firmwares were converted
into a binary format to make it easy to load for the kernel. It's now time
to add the firmware files here to get full support for this driver.
The original firmware came from Micronas. The initial driver package from
them can be found here:

The s2250 firmware is from Sensoray and was already part of linux-firmware.
That firmware has just been renamed.

They are (unlike rest of sd8xxx images from libertas/ and mrvl/) not Libertas
WiFi specific and are used for the bluetooth controller (btmrvl) which does not
look for them in libertas/.
Provide a compatibility symbolic link to avoid breaking libertas_sdio drivers
that are already in use.

This new firmware fixes several minor bugs:
1. In switch dependent mode, DCB priority was used to override inner vlan
priority.
2. In switch dependent mode, inner vlan was added in case of DCB priority
even if outer vlan was present.
3. In switch dependent mode, outer vlan was overridden by DCB priority when
working in STATIC COS mode while inner vlan was present.
4. iSCSI - under heavy iSCSI traffic, when TCP out-of-order condition
occurred, it was possible for the connection to close and recover.
5. iSCSI - connections on-chip TCP establishment might have failed.
6. iSCSI - out-of-order isles might have caused on-chip TCP connections
to fail in their graceful termination.
7. iSCSI - there was a theoretical race in which an RST packet sent from
pure-ack queue in specific timing could cause a credit-return overflow.
8. iSCSI - not all packets were completed on a forward channel.
9. DCB - fixed for 4-port devices; Until now, wrong credit counters were
used, causing dcb to fail.
10. Fixed false parity reported in CAM memories when operating near -5% on
the 1.0V core supply.
11. ETS default settings are set to fairness between traffic classes (rather
than strict priority), and uses the same chip receive buffer configuration
for both PFC and pause.

Although the newest firmware for the RTL8192SU, which is found in vendor
driver rtl8188C_8192C_8192D_usb_linux_v3.4.2_3727.20120404, works with most
devices, it causes drops of the wireless connection for the ASUS WL-167G V3
(USB ID 0b05:1791), the D-Link DWA131 (07d1:3303), and probably others.
Tests show that the firmware from vendor driver
rtl8712_8188_8191_8192SU_usb_linux_v7_0.20100831 works better.
This commerts reverts to that older firmware.

There are some changes in the newer firmware versions that are not
backwards compatible with older versions of the driver. Starting on
Linux 3.6, we will need these new versions.
The new versions are X.3.10.2.115 for single-role and X.5.7.0.27 for
multi-role.

This new FW adds support in AFEX mode (multifunction using vntag
header).
It also fixes following issues:
1. Theoretical bug in GRO acceleration (only if the GRO Segment Length
is a multiple of the SGE Size). This will allow removing the
workaround from the driver.
2. When a TPA aggregation is open and a packet is accepted with
timestamp OOO, the new packet begins a new aggregation instead of
being indicated separately.

bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-5.0.0.j15.fw and cxgb3/t3fw-7.10.0.bin were
added by the respective maintainers, so assume the same licence
as for other versions of the firmware.
mts_mt9234mu.fw and mts_mt9234zba.fw were added by a user,
apparently with permission from the vendor but without any licence
specified, so treat them as unknown for now.

The latest wl12xx driver version now requires a new firmware type with
a different ABI. This patch adds the corresponding 6 firmware
binaries. Three for wl127x and three for wl128x. Each set contains
one firmware for single-role, one firmware for multi-role and one
firmware for production testing and calibration.

This new FW adds the ability to aggregate packets for GRO (and not just LRO) and
also fixes some bugs. Please consider adding it to the FW tree:
1. Added new aggregation mode: GRO. In this mode packets are aggregated such
that the original packets can be reconstructed by the O/S.
2. 57712 HW bug workaround - initialized all CAM TM registers to 0x32.
3. Adding the FCoE statistics structures to the BNX2X HSI.
4. Wrong configuration of TX HW input buffer size may cause theoretical
performance effect. Performed configuration fix.
5. FCOE - Arrival of packets beyond task IO size can lead to crash.
Fix firmware data-in flow.
6. iSCSI - In rare cases of on-chip termination the graceful termination timer
hangs, and the termination doesn't complete. Firmware fix to MSL timer
tolerance.
7. iSCSI - Chip hangs when target sends FIN out-of-order or with isles open at
the initiator side. Firmware implementation corrected to drop FIN received
out-of-order or with isles still open.
8. iSCSI - Chip hangs when in case of retransmission not aligned to 4-bytes from
the beginning of iSCSI PDU. Firmware implementation corrected to support
arbitrary aligned retransmissions.
9. iSCSI - Arrival of target-initiated NOP-IN during intense ISCSI traffic might
lead to crash. Firmware fix to relevant flow.

The nvram file contains configuration info for firmware which varies
with different hardware designs. The version currently in the
repository is for a Broadcom-internal development board that is not
available on the market. This file is not applicable for any exsisting
end-user product. Users should use the nvram file that was
shipped with their device to avoid unexpected or incorrect behavior.
Remove the file from repository to avoid confusion.

isci requires a parameter blob which is usually found in NVRAM, but it
can fall back to loading with request_firmware(). These files are
taken from the Linux source tree where they were wrongly added in
Linux 3.0.

New firmware fixes iSCSI problems with some LeftHand targets that don't
set TTT=0xffffffff for Data-In according to spec. Firmware generates
exception warnings for this condition and becomes very slow. This is
fixed by suppressing these warnings when using default error mask.
