580a98b798 lib: zapi PBR common encode/decode
bgpd, pbrd: use common pbr encoder
    zebra: use common pbr decoder
    tests: pbr_topo1: check more filter fields

    Purpose:
	1. Reduce likelihood of zapi format mismatches when adding
	   PBR fields due to multiple parallel encoder implementations
	2. Encourage common PBR structure usage among various daemons
	3. Reduce coding errors via explicit per-field enable flags

bfd3e8e012 pbrd: add vlan filters pcp/vlan-id/vlan-flags; ip-protocol any (pbr feature)
Subset: feature in PBR

    New PBR rule fields:

    match ip-protocol (was only tcp|udp, now any value in /etc/protocols)
    match pcp (0-7)
    match vlan (1-4094)
    match vlan (tagged|untagged|untagged-or-zero)

    Filter flags
	Add filter_bm (flags) field internally to indicate which
	filter fields should be considered active. Bit definitions
	as in lib/pbr.h.

	This commit uses only the PBR_FILTER_PCP bit, but other
	fields will be added in future commits. (Fixes bug related
	to determining set/not-set state of pcp filter)

	Shift vlan filter flags to lib/pbr.h

07035ce954 vtysh: track and fix file-lock use in the workaround from 2004
There's a workaround in the code from a bug from back in 2004, it ends
and re-enters config mode anytime an `exit` is done from a level below
the top-level config node (e.g., from a `router isis` node). We need to
re-enter config mode with or without a lock according to how we actually
entered it to begin with.

76835fd558 lib: mgmtd: only clear pending for the in-progress command
The lock/unlocks are being done short-circuit so they are never pending;
however, the handling of the unlock notification was always resuming the command
if pending was set. In all cases pending is set for another command. For example
implicit commit locks then when notified its done unlocks which was clearing the
set-config pending flag and resuming that command incorrectly.

633eb6ee77 lib: fix on-match when added to existing route-map entry
Currently, "on-match (next|goto)" only works if already present in a
route-map entry when the route-map is applied to the routes. However, if
the command is added to an existing route-map entry, the route-map is
not reapplied to the routes in order to accommodate the changes. And
service restart is needed. The problem is that setting the command
doesn't signal about the change to the listener (i.e. to a routing
daemon).

With this fix, signal to the listener about addition of "on-match
(next|goto)" to a route-map entry.

e72549c8f6 ospfd: Configurable interface-level 'capability opaque' support
Add support for "[no] ip ospf capbility opaque" at the interface
    level with the default being capability opaque enabled. The command
    "no ip ospf capability opaque" will disable opaque LSA database
    exchange and flooding on the interface. A change in configuration
    will result in the interface being flapped to update our options
    for neighbors but no attempt will be made to purge existing LSAs
    as in dense topologies, these may received by neighbors through
    different interfaces.

    Topotests are added to test both the configuration and the LSA
    opaque flooding suppression.

161972c9fe *: Rearrange vrf_bitmap_X api to reduce memory footprint
When running all daemons with config for most of them, FRR has
sharpd@janelle:~/frr$ vtysh -c "show debug hashtable" | grep "VRF BIT HASH" | wc -l
3570

3570 hashes for bitmaps associated with the vrf. This is a very
large number of hashes. Let's do two things:

a) Reduce the created size of the actually created hashes to 2
instead of 32.

b) Delay generation of the hash *until* a set operation happens.
As that no hash directly implies a unset value if/when checked.

This reduces the number of hashes to 61 in my setup for normal
operation.

df0173ceeb mgmtd: KISS the locking code
Move away from things like "lock if not locked" type code, require the
user has locked prior to geting to that point.

For now we warn if we are taking a lock we already had; however, this
should really be a failure point.

New requirements:

SETCFG -
  not implicit commit - requires user has locked candidate DS and they
    must unlock after

  implicit commit - requires user has locked candidate and running DS
    both locks will be unlocked on reply to the SETCFG

COMMITCFG -
  requires user has locked candidate and running DS and they must unlock
  after

  rollback - this code now get both locks and then does an unlock and
  early return thing on the adapter side. It needs to be un-special
  cased in follow up work that would also include tests for this
  functionality.

When issue vtysh command with ?, the initial buf size for the

by doubling the current buf size regardless of the actual size
that's needed. This would cause vtysh core when the doubled size

394ed767e7 lib : fix duplicate prefix list delete
Problem statement:
Step-1:
pl1 - 10.10.10.10/24 with deny sequence 1
Step-2:
pl1 - 10.10.10.10/24 with permit sequence 2
Step-3:
pl1 - 20.20.20.20/24 with deny sequence 1

Now we end up deleting permit sequence 2,
which might blackhole the traffic.

RCA:
Whenever we have multiple prefix lists,
having same prefix and different subnet range,
delete or replace of prefix list
would result in delete of entry in route-map
prefix table.

Fix:
We will skip deleting prefix list entry
from routemap prefix table, if we have
the multiple prefix lists having same prefix.

5bb87732f6 zebra: re-install nhg on interface up
Intermittently zebra and kernel are out of sync
when interface flaps and the add's/dels are in
same processing queue and zebra assumes no change in nexthop.
Hence we need to bring in a reinstall to kernel
of the nexthops and routes to sync their states.

Upon interface flap kernel would have deleted NHGs
associated to a interface (the one flapped),
zebra retains NHGs for 3 mins even though upper
layer protocol removes the nexthops (associated NHG).
As part of interface address add ,
re-add singleton NHGs associated to interface.

3f55b8c621 isisd: fix disabled flex-algo on race condition
A particular flex-algo algorithm may remain in disabled state after
configuring it if its flex-algo definition is being spread in the area.

It happens sometimes that, in isis_sr_flex_algo_topo1 topotest, r3
flex-algo 203 is disabled on test8. It depends on the following
sequence on r3:
 1. a LSP containing the flex-algo 203 definition is received from
    either r1 or r2 (or both).
 2. the local LSP is rebuilt by lsp_build() because of the flex-algo 203
    configuration
 3. isis_run_spf() recomputes the algo 203 SPF tree

A 1. 2. 3. sequence results in a working test whereas 2. 1. 3. is not
working. The second case issue is because of an inconsistent flex-algo
definition state between the following:
 - in lsp_build(), isis_flex_algo_elected_supported_local_fad() returns
   false because no flex-algo definition is known.
 - in isis_run_spf(), isis_flex_algo_elected_supported() returns true
   because a flex-algo definition is found.

Set a flex-algo state lsp_build() depending on flex-algo definition
existence that is used later in isis_run_spf().

30584b6f6a lib: Fix memory leak in in Link State
When using ls_stream2ted() function to parse Opaque Link State message to local
TED, in case of vertex or subnet deletion, the function return a pointer to the
deleted ls_element instead of NULL. This could lead into a potential pointer
corruption when caller try to access to the deleted ls_element.

This patch ensure that the ls_element pointer return by ls_stream2ted()
function is NULL when the message event is a delete operation for vertex and
subnet. Note that edge deletion was correctly handled.

c37812dd2a lib: fix handle seg6local routes on default vrf
An L3VPN network can be configured on the main BGP instance,
with an SRv6 SID. By declaring a network, a seg6local route
is created but remains invalid.

The below BGP VPN configuration the default VRF has been
used:
> router bgp 1
>  address-family ipv6 unicast
>   sid vpn export auto
>   rd vpn export 1:30
>   rt vpn both 77:77
>   import vpn
>   export vpn
>   network 2001:7::/64
>  exit-address-family

The below seg6local route has been added:

> # show ipv6 route
> [..]
> B   2001:db8:2:2:300::/128 [20/0] is directly connected, unknown inactive, seg6local End.DT6 table 254, seg6 ::, weight 1, 00:00:07
>

When creating the seg6local route, an interface is used as nexthop.
The interface index is obtained from the vrf identifier. This is
true when using VRF interfaces, but is wrong when using the lo
interface which usually has the '1' ifindex whereas the vrf id for
the default VRF is 0.

Get the appropriate index from the vrf identifier.
The below seg6local route is visible:

> # show ipv6 route
> [..]
> B>* 2001:db8:1:1:300::/128 [20/0] is directly connected, lo, seg6local End.DT6 table 254, seg6 ::, weight 1, 00:00:15

9a9f0b893e lib: Update Edge Key in link_state
The original uin64_t for the edge key in link state is not always appropriate
with IPv6 addresses. In some cases, 2 different edge with 2 different IPv6
addresses could conduct to the same key. The resulting TED is wrong in this
case.

This patch replace the uint64_t edge key by a dedicated structure. The
resulting key of the edge is:
 - the local IPv4 address of the corresponding link
 - the local IPv6 address if no IPv4 address is configured on the link
 - the local + remote link ID for unnumbered address

ff0fa00c7d ripd: Fix malformed route-map
Currently the process of the `route-map` configuration for `per-vrf-rip`
is wrong.

There are two problems:
1. `ctx->name` for `if_rmap_ctx`  is not initialized in `if_rmap_ctx_create()`.
2. The global `if_rmap_ctx_list` is wrongly used for `per-vrf-rip`.

So, two changes for it:
1. Correctly initializes `ctx->name`.
2. Use specific `if_rmap_ctx` for `per-vrf-rip`, not global one.

Note, this related implementation for `route-map` is only for `ripd`.

Before:
```
anlan(config)# route rip vrf vrf1
anlan(config-router)# route-map aa in lan
anlan(config-router)# do show run
!
router rip
 route-map aa in lan
exit
!
```

After:
```
anlan(config)# route rip vrf vrf1
anlan(config-router)# route-map aa in lan
anlan(config-router)# do show run
!
router rip vrf vrf1
 route-map aa in lan
exit
d1e85e3600 mgmtd: Enroll Staticd as a backend client for MGMTD
This commmit introduces Staticd as a backend client for the MGMTd
framework. All the static commands will be diverted to the MGMT
daemon and will use the transactional model to make changes to the
internal state. Similar mechanism can be used by other daemons to use
the MGMT framework in the future.
This commit includes the following functionalities in the changeset:
1. Diverts all the staticd (config only) commands to MGMTd.
2. Enrolls staticd as a backend client to use the MGMT framework.
3. Modify the staticd NB config handlers so that they can be compiled
   into a library and loaded in the MGMTd process context.
involved in the request.
This commit includes the following functionalities in the changeset:
1. Introduces the actual Transaction module. Commands added related to
   transaction are:
   a. show mgmt transaction all
2. Adds support for commit rollback feature which stores upto the 10
   commit buffers. Each commit has a commit-id which can be used to
   rollback to the exact configuration state.
   Commands supported for this feature are:
   a. show mgmt commit-history
   b. mgmt rollback commit-id COMMIT_ID
3. Add hidden commands to enable record various performance metrics:
   a. mgmt performance-measurement
7d65b7b7f4 mgmtd: Add MGMT Backend Interface Framework
This commit introduces the MGMT Backend Interface which can be used
by back-end management client daemons like BGPd, Staticd, Zebra to
connect with new FRR Management daemon (MGMTd) and utilize the new
FRR Management Framework to let any Frontend clients to retrieve any
operational data or manipulate any configuration data owned by the
individual Backend daemon component.
This commit includes the following functionalities in the changeset:
1. Add new Backend server for Backend daemons connect to.
2. Add a C-based Backend client library which can be used by daemons
   to communicate with MGMTd via the Backend interface.
3. Maintain a backend adapter for each connection from an appropriate
   Backend client to facilitate client requests and track one or more
   transactions initiated from Frontend client sessions that involves
   the backend client component.
4. Add the following commands to inspect various Backend client
ef43a6329b mgmtd: Add MGMT Frontend Interface Framework
This commit introduces the Frontend Interface which can be used
by front-end management clients like Netconf server, Restconf
Server and CLI to interact with new FRR Management daemon (MGMTd)
to access and sometimes modify FRR management data.
This commit includes the following functionalities in the changeset:
1. Add new Frontend server for clients connect to.
2. Add a C-based Frontend client library which can be used by Frontend
   clients to communicate with MGMTd via the Frontend interface.
3. Maintain a frontend adapter for each connection from an appropriate
   Frontend client to facilitate client requests and track one or more
   client sessions across it.
4. Define the protobuf message format for messages to be exchanged
   between MGMTd Frontend module and the Frontend client.
5. This changeset also introduces an instance of MGMT Frontend client
   embedded within the lib/vty module that can be leveraged by any FRR
   daemon to connect to MGMTd's Frontend interface. The same has been
   integrated with and initialized within the MGMTd daemon's process
   context to implement a bunch of 'set-config', 'commit-apply',
   'get-config' and 'get-data' commands via VTYSH
Due to the wrong input argv id, "argv[idx_word]->arg"
fetched in-correctly and it clears all the route-maps instead of
specific one.
Now correct argv id is passed to clear the given route-map counters.
Also, use RMAP_NAME which allows to show list of configured
route-maps in the system.
tl;dr -> Effectively, in this test setup we have 300 dynamic bgp
sessions all of which are using bfd.  When a peer collision is detected
or we remove the peers, if an event has been scheduled but not actually
executed yet the event event was not actually being stopped, leaving
the bsp pointer on the thread->arg and causing a crash when it is
executed.
Before this patch, if we destroy `any` flag for a prefix-list entry, we always
set destination as 0.0.0.0/0 and/or ::/0.
This means that, if we switch from `ip prefix-list r1-2 seq 5 deny any` to
`ip prefix-list r1-2 seq 5 permit 10.10.10.10/32` we will have
`permit any` eventually, which broke ACLs.
Reading in prefix-lists was looking for duplicate prefixes
41ef7327e3 lib: fix init. use of nb_context to be by value not by reference
Pass context argument by value on initialization to be clear that the
value is used/saved but not a pointer to the value. Previously the
northbound code was incorrectly holding a pointer to stack allocated
context structs.
However, the structure definition also had some musings (ifdef'd out
code) and a comment that might be taken to imply that user data could
follow the structure and thus be maintained by the code; it won't; so it
can't; so get rid of the disabled misleading code/text from the
structure definition.
The common use case worked b/c the transaction which cached the pointer
was created and freed inside a single function
call (`nb_condidate_commit`) that executed below the stack allocation.
All other use cases (grpc, confd, sysrepo, and -- coming soon -- mgmtd)
were bugs.
366a19fe38 lib: skip route-map optimization if !AF_INET(6)
Currently we unconditionally send a prefix through the optimized
route-map codepath if the v4 and v6 LPM tables have been allocated and
optimization has not been disabled.
However prefixes from address-families that are not IPv4/IPv6 unicast
always fail the optimized route-map index lookup, because they occur on
an LPM tree that is IPv4 or IPv6 specific.
e.g.
Even if you have an empty permit route-map clause, Type-3 EVPN routes
are always denied:
```
--config
route-map soo-foo permit 10

--logs
2023/02/17 19:38:42 BGP: [KZK58-6T4Y6] No best match sequence for pfx: [3]:[0]:[32]:[2.2.2.2] in route-map: soo-foo, result: no match
2023/02/17 19:38:42 BGP: [H5AW4-JFYQC] Route-map: soo-foo, prefix: [3]:[0]:[32]:[2.2.2.2], result: deny
```
There is some existing code that creates an AF_INET/AF_INET6 prefix
using the IP/prefix information from a Type-2/5 EVPN route, which
allowed only these two route-types to successfully attempt an LPM lookup
in the route-map optimization trees via the converted prefix.
This commit does 3 things:
1) Reverts to non-optimized route-map lookup for prefixes that are not
   AF_INET or AF_INET6.
2) Cleans up the route-map code so that the AF check is part of the
   index lookup + the EVPN RT-2/5 -> AF_INET/6 prefix conversion occurs
   outside the index lookup.
3) Adds "debug route-map detail" logs to indicate when we attempt to
   convert an AF_EVPN prefix into an AF_INET/6 prefix + when we fallback
   to a non-optimized lookup.
Additional functionality for optimized lookups of prefixes from other
address-families can be added prior to the index lookup, similar to how
the existing EVPN conversion works today.
New behavior:
4a8cd6ad7f bgpd: support for as notation format for route distinguisher
RD may be built based on an AS number. Like for the AS, the RD
may use the AS notation. The two below examples can illustrate:
RD 1.1:20 stands for an AS4B:NN RD with AS4B=65536 in dot format.
RD 0.1:20 stands for an AS2B:NNNN RD with AS2B=0.1 in dot+ format.
This commit adds the asnotation mode to prefix_rd2str() API so as
to pick up the relevant display.
Two new printfrr extensions are available to display the RD with
the two above display methods.
- The pRDD extension stands for dot asnotation format
- The pRDE extension stands for dot+ asnotation format.
- The pRD extension has been renamed to pRDP extension
The code is changed each time '%pRD' printf extension is called.
Possibly, the asnotation may change the output, then a macro defines
the asnotation mode to use. A side effect of forging the mode to
use is that the string could not be concatenated with other strings
in vty_out and snprintfrr. Those functions have been called multiple
times. When zlog_debug needs to display the RD with some other string,
the prefix_rd2str() old API is used instead of the printf extension.
Some code has been kept untouched:
- code related to running-config. Actually, wherever an RD is displayed,
its configured name should be dumped.
- bgp rfapi code
- bgp evpn multihoming code (partially done), since the logic is
missing to get the asnotation of 'struct bgp_evpn_es'.
e84c7c12f2 bgpd: modify bgp as number output
A json AS number API is created in order to output a
given AS number. In order to keep backward compatibility,
if the as-notation uses a number, then the json is encoded
as an integer, otherwise the encoding will be a string.
For what is not relevant to running-configuration, the
as-notation mode is the one used for the BGP instance.
Also, the vty completion gets the configured 'as_pretty'
string value, when an user wants to get the available
BGP instances.
17571c4ae7 bgpd: aspath list format binds on as-notation format
Each BGP prefix may have an as-path list attached. A forged
string is stored in the BGP attribute and shows the as-path
list output.
Before this commit, the as-path list output was expressed as
a list of AS values in plain format. Now, if a given BGP instance
uses a specific asnotation, then the output is changed:
new output:
e55b088399 bgpd: add as-notation keyword to 'router bgp' vty command
A new keyword permits changing the BGP as-notation output:
- [no] router bgp <> [vrf BLABLA] [as-notation [<dot|plain|dot+>]]
At the BGP instance creation, the output will inherit the way the
BGP instance is declared. For instance, the 'router bgp 1.1'
command will configure the output in the dot format. However, if
the client wants to choose an alternate output, he will have to
add the extra command: 'router bgp 1.1 as-notation dot+'.
Also, if the user wants to have plain format, even if the BGP
instance is declared in dot format, the keyword can also be used
for that.
The as-notation output is only taken into account at the BGP
instance creation. In the case where VPN instances are used,
a separate instance may be dynamically created. In that case,
the real as-notation format will be taken into acccount at the
first configuration.
Linking the as-notation format with the BGP instance makes sense,
as the operators want to keep consistency of what they configure.
One technical reason why to link the as-notation output with the
BGP instance creation is that the as-path segment lists stored
in the BGP updates use a string representation to handle aspath
operations (by using regexp for instance). Changing on the fly
the output needs to regenerate this string representation to the
correct format. Linking the configuration to the BGP instance
creation avoids refreshing the BGP updates. A similar mechanism
is put in place in junos too.
8079a4138d lib, bgp: add initial support for asdot format
AS number can be defined as an unsigned long number, or
two uint16 values separated by a period (.). The possible
valus are:
- usual 32 bit values : [1;2^32 -1]
- <1.65535>.<0.65535> for dot notation
- <0.65535>.<0.65535> for dot+ notation.
The 0.0 value is forbidden when configuring BGP instances
or peer configurations.
A new ASN type is added for parsing in the vty.
The following commands use that new identifier:
- router bgp ..
- bgp confederation ..
- neighbor <> remote-as <>
- neighbor <> local-as <>
- clear ip bgp <>
- route-map / set as-path <>
An asn library is available in lib/ and provides some
services:
- convert an as string into an as number.
- parse an as path list string and extract a number.
- convert an as number into a string.
Also, the bgp tests forge an as_zero_path, and to do that,
an API to relax the possibility to have a 0 as value is
specifically called from the tests.
RFC7471 and RFC8570 have defined the Extended Traffic Engineering
metrics, excepting bandwidth ones, use the following format:
>     0                   1                   2                   3
>    |A|  RESERVED   |                   Value                       |
>    +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Data contains a flag/reserved of 8 bits and a 24 bits value.
The TE_EXT_MASK mask macro extracts a 28 bits value from a 32 bits
variable instead of 24 bits. It works in most of the case because
RESERVED bits are generally set to 0.
Fix the TE_EXT_MASK mask.
a77ea81ef3 lib: do not reopen a zclient socket for bfd
b7ca809d1c ("lib: BFD automatic source selection") has added a dedicated
zclient socket for nht tracking. Since the bfd lib is used by daemons
that already has a zclient socket, those daemons has now a second
zclient socket. However, zebra does not distinguish the two zclient
sessions. For example, the interfaces are asked a second via
zebra_message_send(zclient, ZEBRA_INTERFACE_ADD, VRF_DEFAULT) in
zclient_start(). As a result, callbacks functions like bgp_ifp_create()
are called a second time, which causes some processing overhead and
might cause bugs.
Re-use the existing zclient socket for nht tracking.
Note that BFD automatic source selection is only currently implemented
in staticd. Other daemons will require to add the following in their
ZEBRA_NEXTHOP_UPDATE callback function:
> 	if (zclient->bfd_integration)
>		bfd_nht_update(&matched, &nhr);
0839d0c742 lib: fix gmtime_assafe potential issues
Changes:
- Convert `unsigned int` to `time_t` to satisfy time truncation warnings
  even though at this point we had already used the modulus operator.
- Avoid trying to access outside the bounds of the array
  `months` array has a size of 13 elements, but the code inside the loop
  uses `i + 1` to peek on the next month.
efa354a978 lib: fix wrong returned value for filter
When setting rule for access-list ( and prefix-list ) without sequence, it
will automatically get a sequence by `acl_get_seq()`, and return
`CMD_SUCCESS` for command even this sequence value is wrong.
In this scene, `CMD_WARNING_CONFIG_FAILED` should be returned with a
warning.
So, add the check in `acl_get_seq()` and move `nb_cli_enqueue_change()`
after the check of wrong sequence.
Both `plist_remove_if_empty()` and `acl_remove_if_empty()` should ignore
this check, there is no change on them.
Before:
```
anlan(config)# access-list aa seq 4294967295 deny 6.6.6.6/32
anlan(config)# access-list aa deny 6.6.6.7/32  <- Return CMD_SUCCESS

Additionally, fixed the overflow issue on `acl_get_seq()` on **32bit** platforms.
Just change the returned type of `acl_get_seq()` from `long` to `int64_t`.

Before:
```
1fec35c3c7 lib: Fix free function
The list delete function on creation was set to srv6_locator_chunk_free
Which takes a double pointer and dereferences it to free the data.
When list_delete is called it calls the delete function like this:
                if (*list->del)
                        (*list->del)(node->data);
The data is not passed in by reference and as such we do not have
a double pointer.  Fortunately this list_delete is only really
called on shutdown when the locator was deleted and we do not
have a fun situation where we were suddenly freeing 'something'.
2. ANVL: Listen (for up to 2 * <RxmtInterval> seconds) on DIface-0.
3. DUT: Send <OSPF-LSU> packet.
4. ANVL: Verify that the received <OSPF-LSU> packet contains a Network- LSA for network N1
5. ANVL: Establish full adjacency with DUT for neighbor Rtr-0-B on DIface-0 with DUT as DR.
6. ANVL: Listen (for up to 2 * <RxmtInterval> seconds) on DIface-0.
7. DUT: Send <OSPF-LSU> packet.
8. ANVL: Verify that the received <OSPF-LSU> packet contains a new instance of the
   Network-LSA for network N1 originated by DUT, and the LS Sequence Number
   is set to (<InitialSequenceNumber> + 1).
Both the test cases were failing while verifying the initial sequence number for network LSA.
This is because currently OSPF does not reset its LSA sequence number when it is going down.
Seems that if using PCRE2, we need to escape outer `()` chars and `|`. Sounds
But this is only with some older PCRE2 versions. With >= 10.36, I wasn't able
Adding _FRR_PCRE2_POSIX definition because pcre2posix.h does not have
FRR does not use the NLM_F_APPEND semantics ( in fact I would argue that
the NLM_F_APPEND semantics just introduce pain for all parties involved )
I would also argue that most people who use the kernel netlink api
have recognized that NLM_F_APPEND for a route is a recipe for disaster
that is well documented and as such it is not used as anything other
than a curiousity by operators.
See:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1337855
https://github.com/thom311/libnl/issues/226
Are 2 great examples of how confusing it is for anyone in user
space to know what the correct thing to do is.  Given that
new fields can be added with no semantics to allow us to know
what has resulted in a change or not.
In an attempt to recognize this, let's note that FRR
believes it has gotten out of sync with the kernel.
Future commits will react to the desynchronized route
and request from the kernel a reload of that specific
route if possible.
bgpd: Enhance the `srv6_locator_chunk_free()` API by automatically setting the pointer to the freed memory to `NULL`
2022-10-29 19:56:07 -04:00
Carmine Scarpitta
6946731314 lib, bgpd: Enhance srv6_locator_chunk_free() API
A programmer can use the `srv6_locator_chunk_free()` function to free
the memory allocated for a `struct srv6_locator_chunk`.
The programmer invokes `srv6_locator_chunk_free()` by passing a single
pointer to the `struct srv6_locator_chunk` to be freed.
`srv6_locator_chunk_free()` uses `XFREE()` to free the memory.
It is the responsibility of the programmer to set the
`struct srv6_locator_chunk` pointer to NULL after freeing memory with
`srv6_locator_chunk_free()`.
This commit modifies the `srv6_locator_chunk_free()` function to take a
double pointer instead of a single pointer. In this way, setting the
`struct srv6_locator_chunk` pointer to NULL is no longer the
programmer's responsibility but is the responsibility of
`srv6_locator_chunk_free()`. This prevents programmers from making
mistakes such as forgetting to set the pointer to NULL after invoking
`srv6_locator_chunk_free()`.
02b1544a5c lib: Add SRV6_LOCATOR_USID flag to SRv6 locator
In this commit, we add support for a new flag called
`SRV6_LOCATOR_USID`. When the `SRV6_LOCATOR_USID` flag is set, the
routing protocols will install SRv6 behaviors with the uSID in the
dataplane.
This flag is used to specify a locator as a uSID locator. When a locator
is specified as a uSID locator, all the SRv6 SIDs allocated from the
locator by the routing protocols (like BGP) are bound to the SRv6 uSID
behaviors and use the SRv6 uSID codepoints in the BGP update message.
We extend the SRv6 locator implementation to add support for a `usid`
flag. When the `usid` flag is set, the bgpd will install SRv6 behaviors
with the uSID in the dataplane and use the proper SRv6 Endpoint Behavior
codepoint in the BGP advertisement.
failures due to nonexistent header files, but is also much faster.
Where extract.pl would take 5s, this now finishes in 0.2s.  And since
this is a non-parallelizable build step towards the end of the build
(dependent on a lot of other things being done already), the speedup is
actually noticeable.
Also files containing CLI no longer need to be listed in `vtysh_scan`
since the .xref data covers everything.  `#ifndef VTYSH_EXTRACT_PL`
checks are equally obsolete.
fe0a129687 lib,zebra: link-params are not flushed after no enable
Daemons like isisd continue to use the previous link-params after they
are removed from zebra.
For example,
>r0# sh run zebra
> (...)
> interface eth-rt1
>  link-params
>   enable
>   metric 100
>  exit-link-params
> r0# conf
> r0(config)# interface eth-rt1
> r0(config-if)#  link-params
> r0(config-link-params)#   no enable
After "no enable", "sh run zebra" displays no more link-params context.
The "no enable" causes the release of the "link_params" pointer within
the "interface" structure. The zebra function to update daemons with
a ZEBRA_INTERFACE_LINK_PARAMS zapi message is called but the function
returns without doing anything because the "link_params" pointer is
NULL. Therefore, the "link_params" pointers are kept in daemons.
When the zebra "link_params" pointer is NULL:
- Send a zapi link param message that contains no link parameters
  instead of sending no message.
- At reception in daemons, the absence of link parameters causes the
  release of the "link_params" pointer.
2e2dc4f024 lib,zebra: do not enable link-params when a link-params command fails
A given interface has no enabled link-params context. If a link-params
configuration command fails, the link-params is wrongly enabled:
> r4(config-link-params)# no enable
> r4(config-link-params)# delay
>   (0-16777215)  Average delay in micro-second as decimal (0...16777215)
> r4(config-link-params)# delay 50 min 300 max 500
> Average delay should be comprise between Min (300) and Max (500) delay
> r4(config-link-params)# do sh run zebra
> (...)
> interface eth-rt1
> link-params
>  enable
> exit-link-params
link-params are enabled if and only if the interface structure has a
valid link_params pointer. Before checking the command validity,
if_link_params_get() is called to retrieve the link-params pointer.
However, this function initializes the pointer if it is NULL.
Only use if_link_params_get() to retrieve the pointer to avoid
confusion. In command setting functions, initialize the link_params
pointer if needed only after the validation of the command.
852d9f9757 bgpd,zebra,lib: bgp evpn vni macip into two tables
Re-work the bgp vni table to use separately keyed tables for type2
routes.
So, with type2 routes, we have the main table keyed off of the IP and a
new MAC table keyed off of MACs.
By separating out the two, we are able to run path selection separately
for the neigh and mac. Keeping the two separate is also more in-line
with what happens in zebra (they are managed comptletely seperate).
With this change type2 routes go into each table like so:
```
Remote MAC-IP -> IP Table & MAC Table
Remote MAC -> MAC Table

Local MAC-IP -> IP Table
Local MAC -> MAC Table
```
The difference for local is necessary because we should not ever allow
multiple paths for a local MAC.
Also cleaned up the commands for querying the vni tables:
```
show bgp vni all type ...
show bgp vni VNI type ...

```
Old commands will be deprecated in a separate commit.
5e0136c94f lib: fix typesafe hash add with hash collision
The typesafe hash data structure enforces items to be unique, but their
hash values may still collide.  To this extent, when two items have the
same hash value, the compare function is called to see if it returns 0
(aka "equal").
While the _find() function handles this correctly, the _add() function
mistakenly only checked the first item with a colliding hash value for
equality, and if it was inequal proceeded to add the new item.  There
may however be additional items with the same hash value collision, one
of which could still compare as equal.  In that case, _add() would
mistakenly add the new element, failing to notice the already added
item.  Breakage ensues.
Fix by looking for an equal element among *all* existing items with the
same hash value, not just the first.
1bb550b63c bgpd: add resolution for l3vpn traffic over gre interfaces
When a route imported from l3vpn is analysed, the nexthop from default
VRF is looked up against a valid MPLS path. Generally, this is done on
backbones with a MPLS signalisation transport layer like LDP. Generally,
the BGP connection is multiple hops away. That scenario is already
working.
There is case where it is possible to run L3VPN over GRE interfaces, and
where there is no LSP path over that GRE interface: GRE is just here to
tunnel MPLS traffic. On that case, the nexthop given in the path does not
have MPLS path, but should be authorized to convey MPLS traffic provided
that the user permits it via a configuration command.
That commit introduces a new command that can be activated in route-map:
 > set l3vpn next-hop encapsulation gre
That command authorizes the nexthop tracking engine to accept paths that
o have a GRE interface as output, independently of the presence of an LSP
path or not.
A configuration example is given below. When bgp incoming vpnv4 updates
are received, the nexthop of NLRI is 192.168.0.2. Based on nexthop
tracking service from zebra, BGP knows that the output interface to reach
192.168.0.2 is r1-gre0. Because that interface is not MPLS based, but is
a GRE tunnel, then the update will be using that nexthop to be installed.
d0c775e3eb lib: Fix memory leak in zclient_send_localsid()
Running `bgp_srv6l3vpn_to_bgp_vrf` and `bgp_srv6l3vpn_to_bgp_vrf2`
topotests with `--valgrind-memleaks` gives several memory leak errors.
This is due to the way FRR daemons pass local SIDs to zebra: to send a
local SID to zebra, FRR daemons call the `zclient_send_localsid()`
function.
The `zclient_send_localsid()` function performs the following sequence
of operations:
* create a temporary `struct nexthop`;
* call `nexthop_add_srv6_seg6local()` to fill the `struct nexthop` with
the proper local SID information;
* create a `struct zapi_route` and call `zapi_nexthop_from_nexthop()` to
copy the information from the `struct nexthop` to the
`struct zapi_route`;
* send the `struct zapi_route` to zebra through the ZAPI.
The `nexthop_add_srv6_seg6local()` function uses `XCALLOC()` to allocate
memory for the SRv6 nexthop. This memory is never freed.
Creating a temporary `struct nexthop` is unnecessary, as the local SID
information can be pushed directly to the `struct zapi_route`. This
patch simplifies the implementation of `zclient_send_localsid()` by
avoiding using the temporary `struct nexthop`. This eliminates the need
to use `nexthop_add_srv6_seg6local()` to fill the `struct nexthop` and
consequently fixes the memory leak.
6eb8350586 bgpd,lib: route-map/plist matching via type-2/5 routes
Implement the ability to match type-2 and type-5 routes
via a route-map and a prefix-list.
Add some library code to convert an evpn prefix into
evpn prefix is really just another subtype of prefix so all
the info needed can be extracted right there.
Add a special handler to bgp_routemap for evpn type routes
when applying the outbound route-map. This calls the library
code to convert the evpn_prefix to a ipv4/ipv6 prefix and
run it through the plist code. In this we assume type-2 routes
are a /32.
9bf9bd1a0b lib: Correct valgrind errors
In CSPF topo test, valgrind detects uninitialized bytes when exporting TE
Opaque information through ZEBRA. This is due to C pragma compilation directive
__attribute__(aligned(8)) in struct ls_node_id in link_state.h. Valgrind
consideris that struct ls_node_id nid = {} doesn't initialized the padding
bytes introduced by gcc.
This patch simply removes the C pragma compilation directive and also takes
opportunity to remove the transmission of remote node id for vertices and
subnets which is not known. Indeed, remote node id is only pertinent for
edges.
a633fb579e bgpd: Fix insonsistencies with default-originate route-map
Description:
- When there are multiple policies configured with
  route-map then the first matching policy is not
  getting applied on default route originated with
  default-originate.
- In BGP we first run through the BGP RIB and then
  pass it to the route-map to find if its permit or
  deny. Due to this behaviour the first route in
  BGP RIB that passes the route-map will be applied.
Fix:
- Passing extra parameter to routemap_apply so that
  we can get the preference of the matching policy,
  keep comparing it with the old preference and finally
  consider the policy with less preference.
d864dd9eb1 bgpd: Add RFC9234 implementation
RFC9234 is a way to establish correct connection roles (Customer/
Provider, Peer or with RS) between bgp speakers. This patch:
- Add a new configuration/terminal option to set the appropriate local
role;
- Add a mechanism for checking used roles, implemented by exchanging
the corresponding capabilities in OPEN messages;
- Add strict mode to force other party to use this feature;
- Add basic support for a new transitive optional bgp attribute - OTC
(Only to Customer);
- Add logic for default setting OTC attribute and filtering routes with
this attribute by the edge speakers, if the appropriate conditions are
met;
- Add two test stands to check role negotiation and route filtering
during role usage.
