11cf998c20 loader/bsd: Check for NULL arg up-front 
The code in the next block suggests that it is possible for .set to be
true but .arg may still be NULL.

This code assumes that it is never NULL, yet later is testing if it is
NULL - that is inconsistent.

So we should check first if .arg is not NULL, and remove this check that
is being flagged by Coverity since it is no longer required.

d84e89f473 malloc: Use overflow checking primitives where we do complex allocations 
This attempts to fix the places where we do the following where
arithmetic_expr may include unvalidated data:

  X = grub_malloc(arithmetic_expr);

It accomplishes this by doing the arithmetic ahead of time using grub_add(),
grub_sub(), grub_mul() and testing for overflow before proceeding.

Among other issues, this fixes:
  - allocation of integer overflow in grub_video_bitmap_create()
    reported by Chris Coulson,
  - allocation of integer overflow in grub_png_decode_image_header()
    reported by Chris Coulson,
  - allocation of integer overflow in grub_squash_read_symlink()
    reported by Chris Coulson,
  - allocation of integer overflow in grub_ext2_read_symlink()
    reported by Chris Coulson,
  - allocation of integer overflow in read_section_as_string()
    reported by Chris Coulson.

ca0a4f689a verifiers: File type for fine-grained signature-verification controlling 
Let's provide file type info to the I/O layer. This way verifiers
framework and its users will be able to differentiate files and verify
only required ones.

This is preparatory patch.

2ebef43cf6 bsd: Ensure that kernel is loaded before loading module. 
kernel_type may be set to the type of failed kernel. This patching-up is
easier than to reflow kernel loading routines.
