19abf996c7 Allow the daemon to request interactive action from the end user
The "return error and hope the client resubmits the firmware again"
pattern is clunky. There are two plugins doing this now, and about to
be one more.

This adds FwupdRequest which provides a structured way of asking the
user to perform an action, e.g. to replug the device or to press a
special key or button.

This replaces much of the UpdateMessage and UpdateImage API although
it is still used internally. Clients capable of processing the new
DeviceRequest signal should add REQUESTS to their feature flags.

Also, this allows us go back to the old meaning of _NEEDS_BOOTLOADER,
which was "needs rebooting into a bootloader mode" rather than the
slightly weird "user needs to do something and resubmit request".

b8dfaccce7 libfwupd: Add fwupd_release_add_location()
The metadata might want to pass more than one location URI to the client, for
instance if the file is available from more than one HTTP mirror.

Use the noun of location to match the AppStream <artifact> naming; this is the
last place where LVFS AppStream diverges from the official specification and
it would be good to bring fwupd back into line -- although the LVFS will have
to write both elements for a very long time.

See https://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/chap-Metadata.html

Also: we're not changing the format of the `Uri` GVariant key to preserve both
forward and backwards compatibility of the library. We can remove it when we
next break API.

7bcb8d4385 Export FwupdPlugin so we can convey enumerated system errors to the end user
For instance, we can tell the user that UEFI UpdateCapsule is disabled in the
system firmware, or that efivarfs is not mounted. This is much better than
creating "dummy" devices which are really just hacks around the problem because
no better API existed. THe dummy devices cause as many problems as they solve.

Plugins have to set FWUPD_PLUGIN_FLAG_USER_WARNING if a warning should be shown
to the user, and only one warning will be shown of each failure type.

It is expected that GUI clients like gnome-software and gnome-firmware would use
this API to notify the user the localized message for why firmware updates are
not being shown.

460c4b75fe Add the concept of firmware 'branches'
This allows a device to identify with different streams, for instance a Lenovo
laptop could have a coreboot firmware or a AMI firmware. The GUIDs would be the
same, but switching firmware would only be done rarely and very carefully.

Another example would be switching the Broadcom BCM57xx nework adaptors from the
vendor nonfree firmware with a signed PXE image, to the free software reverse
engineered driver with no PXE support (and thus no signed DXE) at all.

It is expected firmware would have additional metadata something like this:

    ...
    <branch>sdcc</branch>
    <description>
      <p>
        This is an alternate firmware built by the community using only free
        software tools.
      </p>
    </description>
    <requires>
      <id compare="ge" version="1.5.0">org.freedesktop.fwupd</id>
      <client>switch-branch</client>
    </requires>
    ...

Additionally, alternate branch firmware will not be returned for clients not
setting the FWUPD_FEATURE_FLAG_SWITCH_BRANCH before the GetReleases request.

4fd4b982ac Support LVFS::UpdateImage in GUI clients
The idea here is that we can show the user both a string and an optional
line-art image when the update has completed. The line art is often more well
understood for non-English speakers.

b246bcaecb Allow client tools to translate the HSI attributes and results
To do this, rely on the AppStream ID to map to a translated string (providing a
fallback for clients that do not care) and switch the free-form result string
into a set of enumerated values that can be translated.

This fixes some of the problems where some things have to be enabled to "pass"
and other attributes have to be some other state. For cases where we want the
user to "do" something, provide a URL to a wiki page that we update out-of-band
of fwupd releases.

868db4e1a8 Export the instructions for detaching the device
Somewhat embarrassingly we were not actually showing the 8bitdo manual detach
images because... we were not actually exporting them. I don't know how this
ever worked in GNOME Software, but it would also explain the low 'success' rate
of the 8bitdo firmware on the LVFS.

This will also be used by Logitech in the future for the C1 Unifying devices.

To work in gnome-softare, this also needs the matching functionality to call
gs_app_add_screenshot() with the new exported data.

02ac92c17c Add a component categories to express the firmware type
Some firmwares only update one part of the system, e.g. the EC or ME firmware.
Other updates include all the updates needed for the whole system, and vendors
have been doing different things with the component name due to this.

To fix, add an enumerated set of firmware 'categories' that can be set by the
uploader in the metainfo.xml file (or changed the LVFS) which automatically
set the name suffix.

Only append the translated version in the client when <categories> has
not been set, as the LVFS is still operating in compatibility mode and setting
the <name> with the prefix. Add the support to fwupd now so we can switch in
about 9 months time.

297055c9d8 Report the DeviceInstanceIDs to fwupdmgr get-updates
This makes it much easier to write metainfo files as we don't have to ask OEMs
or ODMs to run fwupdtool or fwupd with --verbose and then sort through hundreds
of debugging statements.

The fwupdmgr get-devices output also now prints output like this:

    20EQS64N0C System Firmware
      Guid:                 ddc0ee61-e7f0-4e7d-acc5-c070a398838e
      Guid:                 40ce5954-bfa8-5762-926b-f4848cb28bc8 <- UEFI\RES_{DDC0EE61-E7F0-4E7D-ACC5-C070A398838E}

We're deliberately not showing the InstanceId lines in the get-updates command
as the instance IDs are not useful in this case. It will also only show the
InstanceID lines when run as a trusted user, for instance root.

32241f4256 Add support for an UpdateMessage and display it in tools
The idea is that if the user should know something about the device update
"after" it's succesfully completed then the plugin can set `UpdateMessage`
for the device and a client can show it.

An example would be a device that doesn't reboot on its own and the user
needs to power cycle it manually.

5e447293fa Add the concept of logical mappings between different devices
This allows us to find out the logical parent device, for instance in composite

We also allow lazily specifying the device parent using a GUID and the engine
then automatically sets the parent object when the GUIDs match, which allows
children and parents to exist in different plugins.

30dbf0d7d0 Remove the UniqueID property
This was only ever added for gnome-software, and is too inflexible for anything
else. It turns out we don't even need it in GNOME, as we can construct a
suitable ID ourselves using the existing values.

It was also ambiguous whether the unique ID was in reference to the device
or release -- and for gnome-software we need both.

c1c2fec6f5 Add optional icons to each device
This allows us to show the devices in a GUI with a nice icon. Some of the icon
mappings are not perfect and I'll be asking the GNOME designers for some
additions to the icon specification.

Custom vendor icons can also be specified, and /usr/share/fwupd/icons would be
a good place to put them. If vendor icons are used they should show a physical
device with the branding, rather than just the vendor logo.
