Because of a poorly constructed test, only one of the two test vectors
ran. The test also failed to cover the authentication error that occurs
when the server's certificate is not trusted.
Both issues are fixed.

This helps to prevent issues where a failed test can keep a bound
socket open long enough to cause other tests to fail with EADDRINUSE
because the same port number is used.
