since 6.11, unistd.h includes header file unistd_64.h directly on
some platforms, here add unistd_64.h on these platforms. Affected
platforms are ARM64, LoongArch64 and Riscv. Otherwise there will
be compiling error such as:

libcbor dependecy is necessary for adding virtio-nsm and nitro-enclave
machine support in the following commits. libvirt-ci has already been
updated with the dependency upstream and this commit updates libvirt-ci
submodule in QEMU to latest upstream. Also the libcbor dependency has
been added to tests/lcitool/projects/qemu.yml.

Although we're not enabling rust by default yet, we can still add
rust and bindgen to the CI package list.
This demonstrates that we're not accidentally triggering unexpected
build behaviour merely from Rust being present. When we do dev work
to enable rust by default, this will show we're building correctly
on all platforms we target.

The arguments in MESONINTROSPECT are quoted with shlex.quote() so it
must be parsed with shlex.split(). Otherwise the script will fail if
the build directory has a character like "~" in it.
Note: this fix cannot be backported directly to any stable branch
that doesn't require Meson version 1.4.0 or better; otherwise it will
work OK on Linux but will break on Windows hosts.
(Unfortunately, Meson prior to version 1.4.0 was inconsistent between
host OSes about how it quoted arguments, and used a different quoting
process on Windows hosts. Our current git trunk already requires
1.5.0 as of commit 07f0d32641 ("Require meson version 1.5.0"), but
the stable branches are still on older Meson.)

This commit adds a helper crate library, qemu-api-macros for derive (and
other procedural) macros to be used along qemu-api.
It needs to be a separate library because in Rust, procedural macros, or
macros that can generate arbitrary code, need to be special separate
compilation units.
Only one macro is introduced in this patch, #[derive(Object)]. It
generates a constructor to register a QOM TypeInfo on init and it must
be used on types that implement qemu_api::definitions::ObjectImpl trait.

Rust subprojects have the semantic version (followed by -rs) in the subproject
name, but the full version (without -rs) is used by crates.io for the root
directory of the tarball. Teach scripts/archive-source.sh to look for the
root directory name in wrap files.

Add bindings_rs target for generating rust bindings to target-independent
qemu C APIs.
The bindings need be created before any rust crate that uses them is
compiled.
The bindings.rs file will end up in BUILDDIR/bindings.rs and have the
same name as a target:

While debugging an invalid configuration, I noticed that the clauses debug
ends up on stderr but the header ("The following clauses were found..."
ends up on stdout. This makes the contents of meson-logs/meson-log.txt
a bit confusing.

GitLab lets a CI job create its own collapsible log sections by
emitting special escape codes, as documented here:
https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/ci/yaml/script.html#expand-and-collapse-job-log-sections
Use these to make "configure", "build" and "test" separate
collapsible stages.
As recommended by the GitLab docs, we use some shell which is
sourced in the CI job to define functions to emit the magic
lines that start and end sections, to hide the ugliness of
the printf lines from the log.

Define a device_class_set_legacy_reset() function which
sets the DeviceClass::reset field. This serves two purposes:
* it makes it clearer to the person writing code that
DeviceClass::reset is now legacy and they should look for
the new alternative (which is Resettable)
* it makes it easier to rename the reset field (which in turn
makes it easier to find places that call it)
The Coccinelle script can be used to automatically convert code that
was doing an open-coded assignment to DeviceClass::reset to call
device_class_set_legacy_reset() instead.

We do not always want both address and undefined behavior
sanitizers running at the same time.
For the gitlab custom-runners, drop to only --enable-ubsan.
These jobs are not run by default, but as will be obvious in the
next patch, we don't run ASan on x86 either, and it seems wrong
to hold aarch64 and s390x to a different standard.

camel_to_upper() converts its argument from camel case to upper case
with '_' between words. Used for generated enumeration constant
prefixes.
When some of the words are spelled all caps, where exactly to insert
'_' is guesswork. camel_to_upper()'s guesses are bad enough in places
to make people override them with a 'prefix' in the schema.
Rewrite it to guess better:
1. Insert '_' after a non-upper case character followed by an upper
case character:
OneTwo -> ONE_TWO
One2Three -> ONE2_THREE
2. Insert '_' before the last upper case character followed by a
non-upper case character:
ACRONYMWord -> ACRONYM_Word
Except at the beginning (as in OneTwo above), or when there is

This runs replay-dump.py after recording a trace, and fails the test if
the script fails.
replay-dump.py is modified to exit with non-zero if an error is
encountered while parsing, to support this.

The v12 format support for replay-dump has a few issues still. This
fixes async decoding; adds event, shutdown, and end decoding; fixes
audio in / out events, fixes checkpoint checking of following async

If a file imported from Linux is touched, emit a warning and suggest
using scripts/update-linux-headers.sh.
Also check that updating imported files from Linux are not mixed with
other changes, in which case emit an error.

Fully eliminate the "Example" sections in QAPI doc blocks now that they
have all been converted to arbitrary rST syntax using the
".. qmp-example::" directive. Update tests to match.
Migrating to the new syntax
---------------------------
The old "Example:" or "Examples:" section syntax is now caught as an
error, but "Example::" is stil permitted as explicit rST syntax for an
un-lexed, generic preformatted text block.
('Example' is not special in this case, any sentence that ends with "::"
will start an indented code block in rST.)
Arbitrary rST for Examples is now possible, but it's strongly
recommended that documentation authors use the ".. qmp-example::"
directive for consistent visual formatting in rendered HTML docs. The
":title:" directive option may be used to add extra information into the
title bar for the example. The ":annotated:" option can be used to write
arbitrary rST instead, with nested "::" blocks applying QMP formatting
where desired.
Other choices available are ".. code-block:: QMP" which will not create
an "Example:" box, or the short-form "::" code-block syntax which will
not apply QMP highlighting when used outside of the qmp-example
directive.
Why?
----
This patch has several benefits:
1. Example sections can now be written more arbitrarily, mixing
explanatory paragraphs and code blocks however desired.
2. Example sections can now use fully arbitrary rST.
3. All code blocks are now lexed and validated as QMP; increasing
usability of the docs and ensuring validity of example snippets.
(To some extent - This patch only gaurantees it lexes correctly, not
that it's valid under the JSON or QMP grammars. It will catch most
small mistakes, however.)
4. Each qmp-example can be titled or annotated independently without
bypassing the QMP lexer/validator.
(i.e. code blocks are now for *code* only, so we don't have to
sacrifice exposition for having lexically valid examples.)
NOTE: As with the "Notes" conversion (d461c27973), this patch (and the
three preceding) may change the rendering order for Examples in
the current generator. The forthcoming qapidoc rewrite will fix
this by always generating documentation in source order.

The double-colon synax is rST formatting that precedes a literal code
block. We do not want to capture these as QAPI-specific sections.
Coerce blocks that start with e.g. "Example::" to be parsed as untagged
paragraphs instead of special tagged sections.

We do not need a dedicated section for notes. By eliminating a specially
parsed section, these notes can be treated as normal rST paragraphs in
the new QMP reference manual, and can be placed and styled much more
flexibly.
Convert all existing "Note" and "Notes" sections to pure rST. As part of
the conversion, capitalize the first letter of each sentence and add
trailing punctuation where appropriate to ensure notes look sensible and
consistent in rendered HTML documentation. Markup is also re-aligned to
the de-facto standard of 3 spaces for directives.
Update docs/devel/qapi-code-gen.rst to reflect the new paradigm, and
update the QAPI parser to prohibit "Note" sections while suggesting a
new syntax. The exact formatting to use is a matter of taste, but a good
candidate is simply:

... dolor sit amet ...
... consectetur adipiscing elit ...
... but there are other choices, too. The Sphinx readthedocs theme
offers theming for the following forms (capitalization unimportant); all
are adorned with a (!) symbol () in the title bar for rendered HTML
docs.

This patch uses ".. note::" almost everywhere, with just two "caution"
directives. Several instances of "Notes:" have been converted to
merely ".. note::", or multiple ".. note::" where appropriate.
".. admonition:: notes" is used in a few places where we had an
ordered list of multiple notes that would not make sense as
standalone/separate admonitions. Two "Note:" following "Example:"
have been turned into ordinary paragraphs within the example.
NOTE: Because qapidoc.py does not attempt to preserve source ordering of
sections, the conversion of Notes from a "tagged section" to an
"untagged section" means that rendering order for some notes *may
change* as a result of this patch. The forthcoming qapidoc.py rewrite
strictly preserves source ordering in the rendered documentation, so
this issue will be rectified in the new generator.

If a comment immediately follows a doc block, the parser doesn't ignore
that token appropriately. Fix that.
e.g.

will break the parser, because it does not properly ignore the comment
token if it immediately follows a doc block.

Change get_doc_indented() to preserve indentation on all subsequent text
lines, and create a compatibility dedent() function for qapidoc.py that
removes indentation the same way get_doc_indented() did.
This is being done for the benefit of a new qapidoc generator which
requires that indentation in argument and features sections are
preserved.
Prior to this patch, a section like this:

would have its body text be parsed into:

lorem ipsum
dolor sit amet
consectetur adipiscing elit
```
We want to preserve the indentation for even the first body line so that
the entire block can be parsed directly as rST. This patch would now
parse that segment into:

lorem ipsum
dolor sit amet
consectetur adipiscing elit
```
This is helpful for formatting arguments and features as field lists in
rST, where the new generator will format this information as:
```
:arg type name: lorem ipsum
dolor sit amet
consectetur apidiscing elit
```
...and can be formed by the simple concatenation of the field list
construct and the body text. The indents help preserve the continuation
of a block-level element, and further allow the use of additional rST
block-level constructs such as code blocks, lists, and other such
markup.
This understandably breaks the existing qapidoc.py; so a new function is
added there to dedent the text for compatibility. Once the new generator
is merged, this function will not be needed any longer and can be
dropped.
I verified this patch changes absolutely nothing by comparing the
md5sums of the QMP ref html pages both before and after the change, so
it's certified inert. QAPI test output has been updated to reflect the
new strategy of preserving indents for rST.

Add a Meson option to configure which x86-64 instruction
set to use. QEMU will now default to x86-64-v1 + cmpxchg16b for
64-bit builds (that corresponds to a Pentium 4 for 32-bit builds).
The baseline can be tuned down to Pentium Pro for 32-bit builds (with
-Dx86_version=0), or up as desired.

Since commit 83aa1baa06 we have been running the build for Coverity
Scan as a Gitlab CI job, rather than the old setup where it was run
on a local developer's machine. This is working well, but the
absolute paths of files are different for the Gitlab CI job, which
means that the regexes we use to identify Coverity components no
longer work. With Gitlab CI builds the file paths are of the form
/builds/qemu-project/qemu/accel/kvm/kvm-all.c
rather than the old
/qemu/accel/kvm/kvm-all.c
and our regexes all don't match.
Update all the regexes to start with .*/qemu/ . This will hopefully
avoid the need to change them again in future if the build path
changes again.

to .*/qemu .

The Query Processing Library (QPL) is an open-source library
that supports data compression and decompression features. It
is based on the deflate compression algorithm and use Intel
In-Memory Analytics Accelerator(IAA) hardware for compression
and decompression acceleration.

This broke since eef0bae3a7 (migration: Remove block migration) but
even after that was addressed it still fails to complete. As it will
shortly be EOL lets to remove the runner definition and the related
ansible setup bits.
We still have centos9 docker images build and test.

Right now QEMU is importing arch/x86/include/uapi/asm/kvm_para.h
because it includes definitions for kvmclock and for KVM CPUID
bits. However, other definitions for KVM hypercall values and return
codes are included in include/uapi/linux/kvm_para.h and they will be
used by SEV-SNP.
To ensure that it is possible to include both <linux/kvm_para.h> and
"standard-headers/asm-x86/kvm_para.h" without conflicts, provide
linux/kvm_para.h as a portable header too, and forward linux-headers/
files to those in include/standard-headers. Note that <linux/kvm_para.h>
will include architecture-specific definitions as well, but
"standard-headers/linux/kvm_para.h" will not because it can be used in
architecture-independent files.
This could easily be extended to other architectures, but right now
they do not need any symbol in their specific kvm_para.h files.

Afer commit 3efc75ad9d ("scripts/update-linux-headers.sh: Remove
temporary directory inbetween", 2024-05-29), updating linux-headers/
results in errors such as
cp: cannot stat '/tmp/tmp.1A1Eejh1UE/headers/include/asm/bitsperlong.h': No such file or directory
because Loongarch does not have an asm/bitsperlong.h file and uses the
generic version. Before commit 3efc75ad9d, the missing file would
incorrectly cause stale files to be included in linux-headers/. The files
were never committed to qemu.git, but were wrong nevertheless. The build
would just use the system version of the files, which is opposite to
the idea of importing Linux header files into QEMU's tree.
Create forwarding headers, resembling the ones that are generated during a
kernel build by scripts/Makefile.asm-generic, if a file is only installed
under include/asm-generic/.

We are reusing the same temporary directory for installing the headers
of all targets, so there could be stale files here when switching from
one target to another. Make sure to delete the folder before installing
a new set of target headers into it.

When we are building for OSS-Fuzz, we want to ensure that the fuzzer
targets are actually created, regardless of leaks. Leaks will be
detected by the subsequent tests of the individual fuzz-targets.

Running "install_headers" in the Linux source tree is fairly
unfriendly as out-of-tree builds will start complaining about the
kernel source being non-pristine. As we have a temporary directory for
the install we should also do the build step here. So now we have:

The block migration has been considered obsolete since QEMU 8.2 in
favor of the more flexible storage migration provided by the
blockdev-mirror driver. Two releases have passed so now it's time to
remove it.

For union types, the tag member is known only after .check().
We used to code this in a simple way: QAPISchemaVariants attribute
.tag_member was None for union types until .check().
Since this complicated typing, recent commit "qapi/schema: fix typing
for QAPISchemaVariants.tag_member" hid it behind a property.
The previous commit lets us treat .tag_member just like the other
attributes that become known only in .check(): declare, but don't
initialize it in .__init__().

QAPISchemaVariants.check()'s code is almost entirely conditional on
union vs. alternate type.
Move the conditional code to QAPISchemaBranches.check() and
QAPISchemaAlternatives.check(), where the conditions are always
satisfied.
Attribute QAPISchemaVariants.tag_name is now only used by
QAPISchemaBranches. Move it there.
Refactor the three types' .__init__() to make them a bit simpler.

QAPISchemaVariants represents either a union type's branches, or an
alternate type's alternatives. Much of its code is conditional on
which one it actually is.
Create QAPISchemaBranches for branches, and QAPISchemaAlternatives for
alternatives, both subtypes of QAPISchemaVariants.
Replace QAPISchemaVariants by one of them where possible. Keep it
only where we actually deal with either of them.
QAPISchemaVariants.__init__() takes @tag_name and @tag_member, where
exactly one must be None: @tag_name for alternatives, @tag_member for
branches. Let QAPISchemaBranches.__init__() take just @tag_name, and
QAPISchemaAlternatives.__init__() take just @tag_member.
A later patch will move the conditional code to the subtypes.

Commit d424db2354 removed an instance of strerrorname_np() because it
was breaking building with musl libc. A recent RISC-V patch ended up
re-introducing it again by accident.
Put this function in the baddies list in checkpatch.pl to avoid this
situation again. This is what it will look like next time:

'NEED_CPU_H' guard target-specific code; it is defined by meson
altogether with the 'CONFIG_TARGET' definition. Rename NEED_CPU_H
as COMPILING_PER_TARGET to clarify its meaning.
Mechanical change running:

We pass a ResetType argument to the Resettable class enter phase
method, but we don't pass it to hold and exit, even though the
callsites have it readily available. This means that if a device
cared about the ResetType it would need to record it in the enter
phase method to use later on. We should pass the type to all three
of the phase methods to avoid having to do that.
This coccinelle script adds the ResetType argument to the hold and
exit phases of the Resettable interface.
The first part of the script (rules holdfn_assigned, holdfn_defined,
exitfn_assigned, exitfn_defined) update implementations of the
interface within device models, both to change the signature of their
method implementations and to pass on the reset type when they invoke
reset on some other device.
The second part of the script is various special cases:
* method callsites in resettable_phase_hold(), resettable_phase_exit()
and device_phases_reset()
* updating the typedefs for the methods
* isl_pmbus_vr.c has some code where one device's reset method directly
calls the implementation of a different device's method

This script runs QEMU to obtain compat_props of machines and default
values of different types of drivers to produce comparison table. This
table can be used to compare machine types to choose the most suitable
machine or compare binaries to be sure that migration to the newer version
will save all device properties. Also the json or csv format of this
table can be used to check does a new machine affect the previous ones by
comparing tables with and without the new machine.
Default values (that will be used without machine compat_props) of
properties are needed to fill "holes" in the table (one machine has
the property but another machine not. For instance, 2.12 machine has
`{ "EPYC-" TYPE_X86_CPU, "xlevel", "0x8000000a" }`, but compat_pros of
3.1 machine doesn't have it. Thus, to compare these machines we need to
get unknown value of "EPYC-x86_64-cpu-xlevel" for 3.1 machine. These
unknown values in the table are called "holes". To get values for these
"holes" the script uses list of appropriate methods.)
Notes:
* Some init values from the devices can't be available like properties
from virtio-9p when configure has --disable-virtfs. This situations will
be seen in the table as "unavailable driver".
* Default values can be obtained in an unobvious way, like x86 features.
If the script doesn't know how to get property default value to compare
one machine with another it fills "holes" with "unavailable method". This
is done because script uses whitelist model to get default values of
different types. It means that the method that can't be applied to a new
type that can crash this script. It is better to get an "unavailable
driver" when creating a new machine with new compatible properties than
to break this script. So it turns out a more stable and generic script.
* If the default value can't be obtained because this property doesn't
exist or because this property can't have default value, appropriate
"hole" will be filled by "unknown property" or "no default value"
* If the property is applied to the abstract class, the script collects
default values from all child classes and prints all these classes
* Raw table (--raw flag) should be used with json/csv parameters for
scripts and etc. Human-readable (default) format contains transformed
and simplified values and it doesn't contain lines with the same values
in columns

Currently DEBUG_REMAP is a macro that needs to be manually #defined to
be activated, which makes it hard to have separate build directories
dedicated to testing the code with it. Promote it to a meson option.

QAPISchema.lookup_entity() takes an optional type argument, a subtype
of QAPISchemaDefinition, and returns that type or None. Callers can
use this to save themselves an isinstance() test.
The only remaining user of this convenience feature is .lookup_type().
But we don't actually save anything anymore there: we still need the
isinstance() to help mypy over the hump.
Drop the .lookup_entity() argument, and adjust .lookup_type().

This patch only adds type hints, which aren't utilized at runtime and
don't change the behavior of this module in any way.
In a scant few locations, type hints are removed where no longer
necessary due to inference power from typing all of the rest of
creation; and any type hints that no longer need string quotes are
changed.

Dict[str, object] is a stricter type, but with the way that code is
currently arranged, it is infeasible to enforce this strictness.
In particular, although expr.py's entire raison d'être is normalization
and type-checking of QAPI Expressions, that type information is not
"remembered" in any meaningful way by mypy because each individual
expression is not downcast to a specific expression type that holds all
the details of each expression's unique form.
As a result, all of the code in schema.py that deals with actually
creating type-safe specialized structures has no guarantee (myopically)
that the data it is being passed is correct.
There are two ways to solve this:
(1) Re-assert that the incoming data is in the shape we expect it to be, or
(2) Disable type checking for this data.
(1) is appealing to my sense of strictness, but I gotta concede that it
is asinine to re-check the shape of a QAPIExpression in schema.py when
expr.py has just completed that work at length. The duplication of code
and the nightmare thought of needing to update both locations if and
when we change the shape of these structures makes me extremely
reluctant to go down this route.
(2) allows us the chance to miss updating types in the case that types
are updated in expr.py, but it *is* an awful lot simpler and,
importantly, gets us closer to type checking schema.py *at
all*. Something is better than nothing, I'd argue.
So, do the simpler dumber thing and worry about future strictness
improvements later.

QAPISchemaVariant's "variants" field is typed as
List[QAPISchemaVariant], where the typing for QAPISchemaVariant allows
its type field to be any QAPISchemaType.
However, QAPISchemaVariant expects that all of its variants contain the
narrower QAPISchemaObjectType. This relationship is enforced at runtime
in QAPISchemaVariants.check(). This relationship is not embedded in the
type system though, so QAPISchemaVariants.check_clash() needs to
re-assert this property in order to call
QAPISchemaVariant.type.check_clash().

There are two related changes here:
(1) We need to perform type narrowing for resolving the type of
tag_member during check(), and
(2) tag_member is a delayed initialization field, but we can hide it
behind a property that raises an Exception if it's called too
early. This simplifies the typing in quite a few places and avoids
needing to assert that the "tag_member is not None" at a dozen
callsites, which can be confusing and suggest the wrong thing to a
drive-by contributor.

Declare, but don't initialize the "members" field with type
List[QAPISchemaObjectTypeMember].
This simplifies the typing from what would otherwise be
Optional[List[T]] to merely List[T]. This removes the need to add
assertions to several callsites that this value is not None - which it
never will be after the delayed initialization in check() anyway.
The type declaration without initialization trick will cause accidental
uses of this field prior to full initialization to raise an
AttributeError.
(Note that it is valid to have an empty members list, see the internal
q_empty object as an example. For this reason, we cannot use the empty
list as a replacement test for full initialization and instead rely on
the _checked/_check_complete fields.)

Instead of using the None value for the members field, use a dedicated
flag to detect recursive misconfigurations.
This is intended to assist with subsequent patches that seek to remove
the "None" value from the members field (which can never hold that value
after the final call to check()) in order to simplify the static typing
of that field; avoiding the need of assertions littered at many
callsites to eliminate the possibility of the None value.

QAPISchemaInfo arguments can often be None because built-in definitions
don't have such information. The type hint can only be
Optional[QAPISchemaInfo] then. But, mypy gets upset about all the
places where we exploit that it can't actually be None there. Add
assertions that will help mypy over the hump, to enable adding type
hints in a forthcoming commit.

Adjust the expression at the callsite to work around mypy's weak type
introspection that believes this expression can resolve to
QAPISourceInfo; it cannot.
(Fundamentally: self.info only resolves to false in a boolean expression
when it is None; therefore this expression may only ever produce
Optional[str]. mypy does not know that 'info', when it is a
QAPISourceInfo object, cannot ever be false.)

QAPISchema.lookup_type('FOO') returns a QAPISchemaType when type 'FOO'
exists, else None. It won't return None for built-in types like
'int'.
Since mypy can't see that, it'll complain that we assign the

resolve_type() is generally used to resolve configuration-provided type
names into type objects, and generally requires valid 'info' and 'what'
parameters.
In some cases, such as with QAPISchemaArrayType.check(), resolve_type
may be used to resolve built-in types and as such will not have an
'info' argument, but also must not fail in this scenario.
Use an assertion to sate mypy that we will indeed have 'info' and 'what'
parameters for the error pathway in resolve_type.
Note: there are only three callsites to resolve_type at present where
"info" is perceived by mypy to be possibly None:
1) QAPISchemaArrayType.check()
2) QAPISchemaObjectTypeMember.check()
3) QAPISchemaEvent.check()
Of those three, only the first actually ever passes None; the other two
are limited by their base class initializers which accept info=None, but
neither subclass actually use a None value in practice, currently.

We already take care to perform some type narrowing for arg_type and
ret_type, but not in a way where mypy can utilize the result once we add
type hints, e.g.:

We have QAPISchemaArrayType.__init__() initialize self.element_type =
None, and .check() assign the actual type. Using .element_type before
.check() is wrong, and hopefully crashes due to the value being None.
Works.
However, it makes for awkward typing. With .element_type:
Optional[QAPISchemaType], mypy is of course unable to see that it's None
before .check(), and a QAPISchemaType after. To help it over the hump,
we'd have to assert self.element_type is not None before all the (valid)
uses. The assertion catches invalid uses, but only at run time; mypy
can't flag them.
Instead, declare .element_type in .__init__() as QAPISchemaType
*without* initializing it. Using .element_type before .check() now
certainly crashes, which is an improvement. Mypy still can't flag
invalid uses, but that's okay.

Include entities don't have names, but we generally expect "entities" to
have names. Reclassify all entities with names as *definitions*, leaving
the nameless include entities as QAPISchemaEntity instances.
This is primarily to help simplify typing around expectations of what
callers expect for properties of an "entity".

Data structures like struct setup_data have been moved to a separate
setup_data.h header which bootparam.h relies on. Add setup_data.h to
the cp_portable() list and sync it along with the other header files.
Note that currently struct setup_data is stripped away as part of
generating bootparam.h, but that handling is no currently needed for
setup_data.h since it doesn't pull in many external
headers/dependencies. However, QEMU currently redefines struct
setup_data in hw/i386/x86.c, so that will need to be removed as part of
any header update that pulls in the new setup_data.h to avoid build
bisect breakage.
Because <asm/setup_data.h> is the first architecture specific #include
in include/standard-headers/, add a new sed substitution to rewrite
asm/ include to the standard-headers/asm-* subdirectory for the current
architecture.
And while at it, remove asm-generic/kvm_para.h from the list of
allowed includes: it does not have a matching substitution, and therefore
it would not be possible to use it on non-Linux systems where there is
no /usr/include/asm-generic/ directory.

For a long time, we provide two compression formats in the
download area, .bz2 and .xz. There's absolutely no reason
to provide two in parallel, .xz compresses better, and all
the links we use points to .xz. Downstream distributions
mostly use .xz too.
For the release maintenance providing two formats is definitely
extra burden too.

Add an option to check if upload is permitted without actually
attempting a build. This can be useful to add a third outcome
beyond success and failure---namely, a CI job can self-cancel
if the uploading quota has been reached.
There is a small change here in that a failure to do the upload
check changes the exit code from 1 to 99. 99 was chosen because
it is what Autotools and Meson use to represent a problem in the
setup (as opposed to a failure in the test).

QAPIDoc stores a reference to QAPIParser just to pass it to
QAPIParseError. The resulting error position depends on the state of
the parser. It happens to be the current comment line. Servicable,
but action at a distance.
The commit before previous moved most uses of QAPIParseError from
QAPIDoc to QAPIParser. There are just three left. Convert them to
QAPISemError. This involves passing info to a few methods. Then drop
the reference to QAPIParser.
The three errors lose the column number. Not really interesting here:
it's the comment line's indentation.

The parser recognizes only the first "Features:" line. Any subsequent
ones are treated as ordinary text, as visible in test case
doc-duplicate-features. Recognize "Features:" lines anywhere. A
second one is an error.
A 'Features:' line without any features is useless, but not an error.
Make it an error. This makes detecting a second "Features:" line
easier.
qapi/run-state.json actually has an instance of this since commit
fe17522d85 (qapi: Remove deprecated 'singlestep' member of
StatusInfo). Clean it up.

QAPISchemaParser is a conventional recursive descent parser. Except
QAPISchemaParser.get_doc() delegates most of the doc comment parsing
work to a state machine in QAPIDoc. The state machine doesn't get
tokens like a recursive descent parser, it is fed tokens.
I find this state machine rather opaque and hard to maintain.
Replace it by a conventional parser, all in QAPISchemaParser. Less
code, and (at least in my opinion) easier to understand.

The parser mostly doesn't create adjacent untagged sections, and
merging the ones it does create is hardly worth the bother. I'm doing
it to avoid behavioral change in the next commit.

We currently call QAPIDoc.check() only for definition documentation.
Calling it for free-form documentation as well is simpler. No change,
because it doesn't actually do anything there.

descriptions and tagged sections, except for examples.
Turn this into a hard rule, and apply it to examples, too.

[Straightforward conflicts in qapi/migration.json resolved]
docs/devel/qapi-code-gen.txt claims "A heading line must be the first
line of the documentation comment block" since commit
55ec69f8b1 (docs/devel/qapi-code-gen.txt: Update to new rST backend
conventions). Not true, we have code to make it work anywhere in a
free-form doc comment: commit dcdc07a97c (qapi: Make section headings
start a new doc comment block).
Make it true, for simplicity's sake.
