454f4b0f59 hw/display: Allow injection of virtio-gpu EDID name
Thanks to 72d277a7, 1ed2cb32, and others, EDID (Extended Display
Identification Data) is propagated by QEMU such that a virtual display
presents legitimate metadata (e.g., name, serial number, preferred
resolutions, etc.) to its connected guest.

This change adds the ability to specify the EDID name for a particular
virtio-vga display. Previously, every virtual display would have the same
name: "QEMU Monitor". Now, we can inject names of displays in order to test
guest behavior that is specific to display names. We provide the ability to
inject the display name from the frontend since this is guest visible
data. Furthermore, this makes it clear where N potential display outputs
would get their name from (which will be added in a future change).

Note that we have elected to use a struct here for output data for
extensibility - we intend to add per-output fields like resolution in a
future change.

It should be noted that EDID names longer than 12 bytes will be truncated
per spec (I think?).

Testing: verified that when I specified 2 outputs for a virtio-gpu with
edid_name set, the names matched those that I configured with my vnc
display.

  -display vnc=localhost:0,id=aaa,display=vga,head=0 \
  -display vnc=localhost:1,id=bbb,display=vga,head=1 \
  -device '{"driver":"virtio-vga",
            "max_outputs":2,
            "id":"vga",
            "outputs":[
              {
                 "name":"AAA"
              },
              {
                 "name":"BBB"
              }
            ]}'

0462da9d6b qapi: remove trivial "Returns:" sections
The new qapidoc.py can generate "Returns" statements with type
information just fine, so we can remove it from the source where it
doesn't add anything particularly novel or helpful and just repeats the
type info.

This patch is fairly "gentle" and doesn't aggressively touch other
"Returns" lines that could be rephrased to omit repeating type
information; it only removes lines that appear appropriate to wholly
remove.

To help facilitate auto-generated placement, a few doc blocks have a
"TODO:" line inserted to help the placement algorithm differentiate the
introductory paragraph(s) from the rest of the documentation.

The auto-generated returns are in the exact same spot, except for
query-migrationthreads, query-machines, and
x-query-virtio-queue-element.  These auto-generation moves to a better
spot.

6c10778826 docs/sphinx: remove special parsing for freeform sections
Remove the QAPI doc section heading syntax, use plain rST section
headings instead.

Tests and documentation are updated to match.

Interestingly, Plain rST headings work fine before this patch, except
for over- and underlining with '=', which the doc parser rejected as
invalid QAPI doc section heading in free-form comments.

ee241d79bb hw/vmapple/virtio-blk: Add support for apple virtio-blk
Apple has its own virtio-blk PCI device ID where it deviates from the
official virtio-pci spec slightly: It puts a new "apple type"
field at a static offset in config space and introduces a new barrier
command.

This patch first creates a mechanism for virtio-blk downstream classes to
handle unknown commands. It then creates such a downstream class and a new
vmapple-virtio-blk-pci class which support the additional apple type config
identifier as well as the barrier command.

The 'aux' or 'root' device type are selected using the 'variant' property.

6f07c59fb1 qapi: convert "Example" sections with longer prose
These examples require longer explanations or have explanations that
require markup to look reasonable when rendered and so use the longer
form of the ".. qmp-example::" directive.

By using the :annotated: option, the content in the example block is
assumed *not* to be a code block literal and is instead parsed as normal
rST - with the exception that any code literal blocks after `::` will
assumed to be a QMP code literal block.

Note: There's one title-less conversion in this patch that comes along
for the ride because it's part of a larger "Examples" block that was
better to convert all at once.

See commit-5: "docs/qapidoc: create qmp-example directive", for a
              detailed explanation of this custom directive syntax.

a9eab6e2e6 qapi: convert "Example" sections with titles
When an Example section has a brief explanation, convert it to a
qmp-example:: section using the :title: option.

Rule of thumb: If the title can fit on a single line and requires no rST
markup, it's a good candidate for using the :title: option of
qmp-example.

In this patch, trailing punctuation is removed from the title section
for consistent headline aesthetics. In just one case, specifics of the
example are removed to make the title read better.

See commit-4: "docs/qapidoc: create qmp-example directive", for a
              detailed explanation of this custom directive syntax.

14b48aaab9 qapi: convert "Example" sections without titles
Use the no-option form of ".. qmp-example::" to convert any Examples
that do not have any form of caption or explanation whatsoever. Note
that in a few cases, example sections are split into two or more
separate example blocks. This is only done stylistically to create a
delineation between two or more logically independent examples.

See commit-3: "docs/qapidoc: create qmp-example directive", for a
              detailed explanation of this custom directive syntax.

See commit+3: "qapi: remove "Example" doc section" for a detailed
              explanation of why.

Note: an empty "TODO" line was added to announce-self to keep the
example from floating up into the body; this will be addressed more
rigorously in the new qapidoc generator.

d461c27973 qapi: convert "Note" sections to plain rST
We do not need a dedicated section for notes. By eliminating a specially
parsed section, these notes can be treated as normal rST paragraphs in
the new QMP reference manual, and can be placed and styled much more
flexibly.

Convert all existing "Note" and "Notes" sections to pure rST. As part of
the conversion, capitalize the first letter of each sentence and add
trailing punctuation where appropriate to ensure notes look sensible and
consistent in rendered HTML documentation. Markup is also re-aligned to
the de-facto standard of 3 spaces for directives.

Update docs/devel/qapi-code-gen.rst to reflect the new paradigm, and
update the QAPI parser to prohibit "Note" sections while suggesting a
new syntax. The exact formatting to use is a matter of taste, but a good
candidate is simply:

.. note:: lorem ipsum ...
   ... dolor sit amet ...
   ... consectetur adipiscing elit ...

... but there are other choices, too. The Sphinx readthedocs theme
offers theming for the following forms (capitalization unimportant); all
are adorned with a (!) symbol () in the title bar for rendered HTML
docs.

See
https://sphinx-rtd-theme.readthedocs.io/en/stable/demo/demo.html#admonitions
for examples of each directive/admonition in use.

These are rendered in orange:

.. Attention:: ...
.. Caution:: ...
.. WARNING:: ...

These are rendered in red:

.. DANGER:: ...
.. Error:: ...

These are rendered in green:

.. Hint:: ...
.. Important:: ...
.. Tip:: ...

These are rendered in blue:

.. Note:: ...
.. admonition:: custom title

   admonition body text

This patch uses ".. note::" almost everywhere, with just two "caution"
directives. Several instances of "Notes:" have been converted to
merely ".. note::", or multiple ".. note::" where appropriate.
".. admonition:: notes" is used in a few places where we had an
ordered list of multiple notes that would not make sense as
standalone/separate admonitions. Two "Note:" following "Example:"
have been turned into ordinary paragraphs within the example.

NOTE: Because qapidoc.py does not attempt to preserve source ordering of
sections, the conversion of Notes from a "tagged section" to an
"untagged section" means that rendering order for some notes *may
change* as a result of this patch. The forthcoming qapidoc.py rewrite
strictly preserves source ordering in the rendered documentation, so
this issue will be rectified in the new generator.

cf03a152c5 qdev: add IOThreadVirtQueueMappingList property type
virtio-blk and virtio-scsi devices will need a way to specify the
mapping between IOThreads and virtqueues. At the moment all virtqueues
are assigned to a single IOThread or the main loop. This single thread
can be a CPU bottleneck, so it is necessary to allow finer-grained
assignment to spread the load.

Introduce DEFINE_PROP_IOTHREAD_VQ_MAPPING_LIST() so devices can take a
parameter that maps virtqueues to IOThreads. The command-line syntax for
this new property is as follows:

  --device '{"driver":"foo","iothread-vq-mapping":[{"iothread":"iothread0","vqs":[0,1,2]},...]}'

IOThreads are specified by name and virtqueues are specified by 0-based
index.

It will be common to simply assign virtqueues round-robin across a set
of IOThreads. A convenient syntax that does not require specifying
individual virtqueue indices is available:

  --device '{"driver":"foo","iothread-vq-mapping":[{"iothread":"iothread0"},{"iothread":"iothread1"},...]}'

1ee7bb5bef qmp: add QMP command x-query-virtio-queue-element
This new command shows the information of a VirtQueue element.

[Note: Up until v10 of this patch series, virtio.json had many (15+)
 enums defined (e.g. decoded device features, statuses, etc.). In v10
 most of these enums were removed and replaced with string literals.
 By doing this we get (1) simpler schema, (2) smaller generated code,
 and (3) less maintenance burden for when new things are added (e.g.
 devices, device features, etc.).]

f3034ad71f qmp: decode feature & status bits in virtio-status
Display feature names instead of bitmaps for host, guest, and
backend for VirtIODevices.

Display status names instead of bitmaps for VirtIODevices.

Display feature names instead of bitmaps for backend, protocol,
acked, and features (hdev->features) for vhost devices.

Decode features according to device ID. Decode statuses
according to configuration status bitmap (config_status_map).
Decode vhost user protocol features according to vhost user
protocol bitmap (vhost_user_protocol_map).

Transport features are on the first line. Undecoded bits (if
any) are stored in a separate field.

[Jonah: Several changes made to this patch from prev. version (v14):
 - Moved all device features mappings to hw/virtio/virtio.c
 - Renamed device features mappings (less generic)
 - Generalized @FEATURE_ENTRY macro for all device mappings
 - Virtio device feature map definitions include descriptions of
   feature bits
 - Moved @VHOST_USER_F_PROTOCOL_FEATURES feature bit from transport
   feature map to vhost-user-supported device feature mappings
   (blk, fs, i2c, rng, net, gpu, input, scsi, vsock)
 - New feature bit added for virtio-vsock: @VIRTIO_VSOCK_F_SEQPACKET
 - New feature bit added for virtio-iommu: @VIRTIO_IOMMU_F_BYPASS_CONFIG
 - New feature bit added for virtio-mem: @VIRTIO_MEM_F_UNPLUGGED_INACCESSIBLE
 - New virtio transport feature bit added: @VIRTIO_F_IN_ORDER
 - Added device feature map definition for virtio-rng

90c066cd68 qmp: add QMP command x-query-virtio-status
This new command shows the status of a VirtIODevice, including
its corresponding vhost device's status (if active).

Next patch will improve output by decoding feature bits, including
vhost device's feature bits (backend, protocol, acked, and features).
Also will decode status bits of a VirtIODevice.

[Jonah: From patch v12; added a check to @virtio_device_find to ensure
 synchronicity between @virtio_list and the devices in the QOM
 composition tree.]

a5ebce3857 qmp: add QMP command x-query-virtio
This new command lists all the instances of VirtIODevices with
their canonical QOM path and name.

[Jonah: @virtio_list duplicates information that already exists in
 the QOM composition tree. However, extracting necessary information
 from this tree seems to be a bit convoluted.

 Instead, we still create our own list of realized virtio devices
 but use @qmp_qom_get with the device's canonical QOM path to confirm
 that the device exists and is realized. If the device exists but
 is actually not realized, then we remove it from our list (for
 synchronicity to the QOM composition tree).

 Also, the QMP command @x-query-virtio is redundant as @qom-list
 and @qom-get are sufficient to search '/machine/' for realized
 virtio devices. However, @x-query-virtio is much more convenient
 in listing realized virtio devices.]
