797f080c46 selftests: net: prevent Python from buffering the output
Make sure Python doesn't buffer the output, otherwise for some
tests we may see false positive timeouts in NIPA. NIPA thinks that
a machine has hung if the test doesn't print anything for 3min.
This is also nice to heave for running the tests manually,
especially in vng.

fd2aadcefb selftests: drv-net: Strip '@' prefix from bpftrace map keys
The '@' prefix in bpftrace map keys is specific to bpftrace and can be
safely removed when processing results. This patch modifies the bpftrace
utility to strip the '@' from map keys before storing them in the result
dictionary, making the keys more consistent with Python conventions.

3c561c547c selftests: drv-net: add helper/wrapper for bpftrace
bpftrace is very useful for low level driver testing. perf or trace-cmd
would also do for collecting data from tracepoints, but they require
much more post-processing.

Add a wrapper for running bpftrace and sanitizing its output.
bpftrace has JSON output, which is great, but it prints loose objects
and in a slightly inconvenient format. We have to read the objects
line by line, and while at it return them indexed by the map name.

23ca32e4ea selftests: drv-net: Add test for devlink-rate traffic class bandwidth distribution
This test suite validates the functionality of the devlink-rate API for
traffic class (TC) bandwidth allocation. It ensures that bandwidth can
be distributed between different traffic classes as configured, and
verifies that explicit TC-to-queue mapping is required for the
allocation to be effective.

The first test (test_no_tc_mapping_bandwidth) is marked as expected
failure on mlx5, since the hardware automatically enforces traffic
class separation by dynamically moving queues to the correct TC
scheduler, even without explicit TC-to-queue mapping configuration.

8f0ae19346 selftests: net: exit cleanly on SIGTERM / timeout
ksft runner sends 2 SIGTERMs in a row if a test runs out of time.
Handle this in a similar way we handle SIGINT - cleanup and stop
running further tests.

Because we get 2 signals we need a bit of logic to ignore
the subsequent one, they come immediately one after the other
(due to commit 9616cb34b0 ("kselftest/runner.sh: Propagate SIGTERM
to runner child")).

This change makes sure we run cleanup (scheduled defer()s)
and also print a stack trace on SIGTERM, which doesn't happen
by default. Tests occasionally hang in NIPA and it's impossible
to tell what they are waiting from or doing.

cd5e64fb95 netlink: specs: rename rtnetlink specs in accordance with family name
The rtnetlink family names are set to rt-$name within the YAML
but the files are called rt_$name. C codegen assumes that the
generated file name will match the family. The use of dashes
is in line with our general expectation that name properties
in the spec use dashes not underscores (even tho, as Donald
points out most genl families use underscores in the name).

We have 3 un-ideal options to choose from:

 - accept the slight inconsistency with old families using _, or
 - accept the slight annoyance with all languages having to do s/-/_/
   when looking up family ID, or
 - accept the inconsistency with all name properties in new YAML spec
   being separated with - and just the family name always using _.

Pick option 1 and rename the rtnl spec files.

d110dbf149 selftests: net: report output format as TAP 13 in Python tests
The Python lib based tests report that they are producing
"KTAP version 1", but really we aren't making use of any
KTAP features, like subtests. Our output is plain TAP.

Report TAP 13 instead of KTAP 1, this is what mptcp tests do,
and what NIPA knows how to parse best. For HW testing we need
precise subtest result tracking.

7147713799 selftests: drv-net: add a way to wait for a local process
We use wait_port_listen() extensively to wait for a process
we spawned to be ready. Not all processes will open listening
sockets. Add a method of explicitly waiting for a child to
be ready. Pass a FD to the spawned process and wait for it
to write a message to us. FD number is passed via KSFT_READY_FD
env variable.

Similarly use KSFT_WAIT_FD to let the child process for a sign
that we are done and child should exit. Sending a signal to
a child with shell=True can get tricky.

Make use of this method in the queues test to make it less flaky.

846742f7e3 selftests: drv-net: add a warning for bkg + shell + terminate
Joe Damato reports that some shells will fork before running
the command when python does "sh -c $cmd", while bash on my
machine does an exec of $cmd directly.

This will have implications for our ability to terminate
the child process on various configurations of bash and
other shells. Warn about using

	bkg(... shell=True, termininate=True)

most background commands can hopefully exit cleanly (exit_wait).

4f280376e5 selftests/net: Add selftest for IPv4 RTM_GETMULTICAST support
This change introduces a new selftest case to verify the functionality
of dumping IPv4 multicast addresses using the RTM_GETMULTICAST netlink
message. The test utilizes the ynl library to interact with the
netlink interface and validate that the kernel correctly reports the
joined IPv4 multicast addresses.

To run the test, execute the following command:

ab88c2b373 tools: ynl: move python code to separate sub-directory
Move python code to a separate directory so it can be
packaged as a python module. Updates existing references
in selftests and docs.

Also rename ynl-gen-[c|rst] to ynl_gen_[c|rst], avoid
dashes as these prevent easy imports for entrypoints.

31eae6d995 selftests: drv-net: test drivers sleeping in ndo_get_stats64
Most of our tests use rtnetlink to read device stats, so they
don't expose the drivers much to paths in which device stats
are read under RCU. Add tests which hammer profcs reads to
make sure drivers:
 - don't sleep while reporting stats,
 - can handle parallel reads,
 - can handle device going down while reading.

Set ifname on the env class in NetDrvEnv, we already do that
in NetDrvEpEnv.

0518863407 selftests: net: support setting recv_size in YNL
recv_size parameter allows constraining the buffer size for dumps.
It's useful in testing kernel handling of dump continuation,
IOW testing dumps which span multiple skbs.

Let the tests set this parameter when initializing the YNL family.
Keep the normal default, we don't want tests to unintentionally
behave very differently than normal code.

This fix solves this error, when calling kselftest with targets
"drivers/net":

File "tools/testing/selftests/net/lib/py/nsim.py", line 64, in __init__
  if e.errno == errno.ENOSPC:
NameError: name 'errno' is not defined

The error was found by running tests manually with the command:
make kselftest TARGETS="drivers/net"

The module errno makes available standard error system symbols.

f879306834 selftests: net: ksft: support marking tests as disruptive
Add new @ksft_disruptive decorator to mark the tests that might
be disruptive to the system. Depending on how well the previous
test works in the CI we might want to disable disruptive tests
by default and only let the developers run them manually.

KSFT framework runs disruptive tests by default. DISRUPTIVE=False
environment (or config file) can be used to disable these tests.
ksft_setup should be called by the test cases that want to use
new decorator (ksft_setup is only called via NetDrvEnv/NetDrvEpEnv for now).

In the future we can add similar decorators to, for example, avoid
running slow tests all the time. And/or have some option to run
only 'fast' tests for some sort of smoke test scenario.

8510801a9d selftests: drv-net: add ability to schedule cleanup with defer()
This implements what I was describing in [1]. When writing a test
author can schedule cleanup / undo actions right after the creation
completes, eg:

  cmd("touch /tmp/file")
  defer(cmd, "rm /tmp/file")

defer() takes the function name as first argument, and the rest are
arguments for that function. defer()red functions are called in
inverse order after test exits. It's also possible to capture them
and execute earlier (in which case they get automatically de-queued).

  undo = defer(cmd, "rm /tmp/file")
  # ... some unsafe code ...
  undo.exec()

As a nice safety all exceptions from defer()ed calls are captured,
printed, and ignored (they do make the test fail, however).
This addresses the common problem of exceptions in cleanup paths
often being unhandled, leading to potential leaks.

There is a global action queue, flushed by ksft_run(). We could support
function level defers too, I guess, but there's no immediate need..

1cf2704242 net: selftest: add test for netdev netlink queue-get API
Add a selftest for netdev generic netlink. For now there is only a
single test that exercises the `queue-get` API.

The test works with netdevsim by default or with a real device by
setting NETIF.

Add a timeout param to cmd() since ethtool -L can take a long time on
real devices.

e1bb5e65de selftests: net: py: check process exit code in bkg() and background cmd()
We're a bit too loose with error checking for background
processes. cmd() completely ignores the fail argument
passed to the constructor if background is True.
Default to checking for errors if process is not terminated
explicitly. Caller can override with True / False.

For bkg() the processing step is called magically by __exit__
so record the value passed in the constructor.

Bugs in memory allocation failure paths are quite common.
Add a test exercising those paths based on qstat and page pool
failure hook.

Running on bnxt:

still doesn't have qstat. So I run it on bnxt, and while bnxt survives
I found the problem fixed in commit 7301177307 ("eth: bnxt: fix counting
packets discarded due to OOM and netpoll").

The main use of the ip() wrapper over cmd() is that it can parse JSON.
cmd("ip -j link show") will return stdout as a string, and test has
to call json.loads(). With ip("link show", json=True) the return value
will be already parsed.

More tools (ethtool, bpftool etc.) support the --json switch.
To avoid having to wrap all of them individually create a tool()
helper.

Switch from -j to --json (for ethtool).
While at it consume the netns attribute at the ip() level.

31611cea8f selftests: drv-net: add a TCP ping test case (and useful helpers)
More complex tests often have to spawn a background process,
like a server which will respond to requests or tcpdump.

Add support for creating such processes using the with keyword:

  with bkg("my-daemon", ..):
     # my-daemon is alive in this block

My initial thought was to add this support to cmd() directly
but it runs the command in the constructor, so by the time
we __enter__ it's too late to make sure we used "background=True".

Second useful helper transplanted from net_helper.sh is
wait_port_listen().

The test itself uses socat, which insists on v6 addresses
being wrapped in [], it's not the only command which requires
this format, so add the wrapped address to env. The hope
is to save test code from checking if address is v6.

01b431641c selftests: net: support matching cases by name prefix
While writing tests with a lot more cases I got tired of having
to jump back and forth to add the name of the test to the ksft_run()
list. Most unittest frameworks do some name matching, e.g. assume
that functions with names starting with test_ are test cases.

Support similar flow in ksft_run(). Let the author list the desired
prefixes. globals() need to be passed explicitly, IDK how to work
around that.

1a20a9a0dd selftests: drv-net: define endpoint structures
Define the remote endpoint "model". To execute most meaningful device
driver tests we need to be able to communicate with a remote system,
and have it send traffic to the device under test.

Various test environments will have different requirements.

0) "Local" netdevsim-based testing can simply use net namespaces.
netdevsim supports connecting two devices now, to form a veth-like
construct.

1) Similarly on hosts with multiple NICs, the NICs may be connected
together with a loopback cable or internal device loopback.
One interface may be placed into separate netns, and tests
would proceed much like in the netdevsim case. Note that
the loopback config or the moving of one interface
into a netns is not expected to be part of selftest code.

2) Some systems may need to communicate with the remote endpoint
via SSH.

3) Last but not least environment may have its own custom communication
method.

Fundamentally we only need two operations:
 - run a command remotely
 - deploy a binary (if some tool we need is built as part of kselftests)

Wrap these two in a class. Use dynamic loading to load the Remote
class. This will allow very easy definition of other communication
methods without bothering upstream code base.

Stick to the "simple" / "no unnecessary abstractions" model for
referring to the remote endpoints. The host / remote object are
passed as an argument to the usual cmd() or ip() invocation.
For example:

b4db9f8402 selftests: drivers: add scaffolding for Netlink tests in Python
Add drivers/net as a target for mixed-use tests.
The setup is expected to work similarly to the forwarding tests.
Since we only need one interface (unlike forwarding tests)
read the target device name from NETIF. If not present we'll
