a7bcffc673 Bluetooth: Add PA_LINK to distinguish BIG sync and PA sync connections
Currently, BIS_LINK is used for both BIG sync and PA sync connections,
which makes it impossible to distinguish them when searching for a PA
sync connection.

Adding PA_LINK will make the distinction clearer and simplify future
extensions for PA-related features.

b2a5f2e1c1 Bluetooth: hci_event: Add support for handling LE BIG Sync Lost event
When the BIS source stops, the controller sends an LE BIG Sync Lost
event (subevent 0x1E). Currently, this event is not handled, causing
the BIS stream to remain active in BlueZ and preventing recovery.

23205562ff Bluetooth: separate CIS_LINK and BIS_LINK link types
Use separate link type id for unicast and broadcast ISO connections.
These connection types are handled with separate HCI commands, socket
API is different, and hci_conn has union fields that are different in
the two cases, so they shall not be mixed up.

Currently in most places it is attempted to distinguish ucast by
bacmp(&c->dst, BDADDR_ANY) but it is wrong as dst is set for bcast sink
hci_conn in iso_conn_ready(). Additionally checking sync_handle might be
OK, but depends on details of bcast conn configuration flow.

To avoid complicating it, use separate link types.

dd0ccf8580 Bluetooth: add support for SIOCETHTOOL ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO
Bluetooth needs some way for user to get supported so_timestamping flags
for the different socket types.

Use SIOCETHTOOL API for this purpose. As hci_dev is not associated with
struct net_device, the existing implementation can't be reused, so we
add a small one here.

Add support (only) for ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO command. The API differs
slightly from netdev in that the result depends also on socket type.

Up until now it has been assumed that the application would be able to

no access to SID since the likes of MGMT_EV_DEVICE_FOUND cannot carry

c82b6357a5 Bluetooth: hci_event: Fix not using key encryption size when its known
This fixes the regression introduced by 50c1241e6a8a ("Bluetooth: l2cap:
Check encryption key size on incoming connection") introduced a check for
l2cap_check_enc_key_size which checks for hcon->enc_key_size which may
not be initialized if HCI_OP_READ_ENC_KEY_SIZE is still pending.

If the key encryption size is known, due previously reading it using
HCI_OP_READ_ENC_KEY_SIZE, then store it as part of link_key/smp_ltk
structures so the next time the encryption is changed their values are
used as conn->enc_key_size thus avoiding the racing against
HCI_OP_READ_ENC_KEY_SIZE.

Now that the enc_size is stored as part of key the information the code
then attempts to check that there is no downgrade of security if
HCI_OP_READ_ENC_KEY_SIZE returns a value smaller than what has been
previously stored.

BIG Create Sync requires the command to just generates a status so this
makes use of __hci_cmd_sync_status_sk to wait for
HCI_EVT_LE_BIG_SYNC_ESTABLISHED, also because of this chance it is not
longer necessary to use a custom method to serialize the process of

c174cd0945 Bluetooth: increment TX timestamping tskey always for stream sockets
Documentation/networking/timestamping.rst implies TX timestamping OPT_ID
tskey increments for each sendmsg. In practice: TCP socket increments
it for all sendmsg, timestamping on or off, but UDP only when
timestamping is on. The user-visible counter resets when OPT_ID is
turned on, so difference can be seen only if timestamping is enabled for
some packets only (eg. via SO_TIMESTAMPING CMSG).

Fix BT sockets to work in the same way: stream sockets increment tskey
for all sendmsg (seqpacket already increment for timestamped only).

134f4b39df Bluetooth: add support for skb TX SND/COMPLETION timestamping
Support enabling TX timestamping for some skbs, and track them until
packet completion. Generate software SCM_TSTAMP_COMPLETION when getting
completion report from hardware.

Generate software SCM_TSTAMP_SND before sending to driver. Sending from
driver requires changes in the driver API, and drivers mostly are going
to send the skb immediately.

Make the default situation with no COMPLETION TX timestamping more
efficient by only counting packets in the queue when there is nothing to
track. When there is something to track, we need to make clones, since
the driver may modify sent skbs.

The tx_q queue length is bounded by the hdev flow control, which will
not send new packets before it has got completion reports for old ones.

07a9342b94 Bluetooth: ISO: Send BIG Create Sync via hci_sync
Before issuing the LE BIG Create Sync command, an available BIG handle
is chosen by iterating through the conn_hash list and finding the first
unused value.

If a BIG is terminated, the associated hcons are removed from the list
and the LE BIG Terminate Sync command is sent via hci_sync queue.
However, a new LE BIG Create sync command might be issued via
hci_send_cmd, before the previous BIG sync was terminated. This
can cause the same BIG handle to be reused and the LE BIG Create Sync
to fail with Command Disallowed.

< HCI Command: LE Broadcast Isochronous Group Create Sync (0x08|0x006b)

This commit fixes the ordering of the LE BIG Create Sync/LE BIG Terminate
Sync commands, to make sure that either the previous BIG sync is
terminated before reusing the handle, or that a new handle is chosen
for a new sync.

1cc18c2ab2 bluetooth/hci: disallow setting handle bigger than HCI_CONN_HANDLE_MAX
Syzbot hit warning in hci_conn_del() caused by freeing handle that was
not allocated using ida allocator.

This is caused by handle bigger than HCI_CONN_HANDLE_MAX passed by
hci_le_big_sync_established_evt(), which makes code think it's unset
connection.

Add same check for handle upper bound as in hci_conn_set_handle() to
prevent warning.

l2cap_le_flowctl_init() can cause both div-by-zero and an integer

Move MTU from hci_dev to hci_conn to validate MTU and stop the connection
process earlier if MTU is invalid.
Also, add a missing validation in read_buffer_size() and make it return
an error value if the validation fails.
Now hci_conn_add() returns ERR_PTR() as it can fail due to the both a
kzalloc failure and invalid MTU value.

4aa42119d9 Bluetooth: Remove pending ACL connection attempts
With the last commit we moved to using the hci_sync queue for "Create
Connection" requests, removing the need for retrying the paging after
finished/failed "Create Connection" requests and after the end of
inquiries.

hci_conn_check_pending() was used to trigger this retry, we can remove it
now.

Note that we can also remove the special handling for COMMAND_DISALLOWED
errors in the completion handler of "Create Connection", because "Create
Connection" requests are now always serialized.

This is somewhat reverting commit 4c67bc74f0 ("[Bluetooth] Support
concurrent connect requests").

With this, the BT_CONNECT2 state of ACL hci_conn objects should now be
back to meaning only one thing: That we received a "Connection Request"
from another device (see hci_conn_request_evt), but the response to that
is going to be deferred.

45340097ce Bluetooth: hci_conn: Only do ACL connections sequentially
Pretty much all bluetooth chipsets only support paging a single device at
a time, and if they don't reject a secondary "Create Connection" request
while another is still ongoing, they'll most likely serialize those
requests in the firware.

With commit 4c67bc74f0 ("[Bluetooth] Support concurrent connect
requests") we started adding some serialization of our own in case the
adapter returns "Command Disallowed" HCI error.

This commit was using the BT_CONNECT2 state for the serialization, this
state is also used for a few more things (most notably to indicate we're
waiting for an inquiry to cancel) and therefore a bit unreliable. Also
not all BT firwares would respond with "Command Disallowed" on too many
connection requests, some will also respond with "Hardware Failure"
(BCM4378), and others will error out later and send a "Connect Complete"
event with error "Rejected Limited Resources" (Marvell 88W8897).

We can clean things up a bit and also make the serialization more reliable
by using our hci_sync machinery to always do "Create Connection" requests
in a sequential manner.

This is very similar to what we're already doing for establishing LE
connections, and it works well there.

Note that this causes a test failure in mgmt-tester (test "Pair Device
- Power off 1") because the hci_abort_conn_sync() changes the error we
return on timeout of the "Create Connection". We'll fix this on the
mgmt-tester side by adjusting the expected error for the test.

a85fb91e3d Bluetooth: Fix double free in hci_conn_cleanup
syzbot reports a slab use-after-free in hci_conn_hash_flush [1].
After releasing an object using hci_conn_del_sysfs in the
hci_conn_cleanup function, releasing the same object again
using the hci_dev_put and hci_conn_put functions causes a double free.
Here's a simplified flow:

hci_conn_del_sysfs:
  hci_dev_put
    put_device
      kobject_put
        kref_put
          kobject_release
            kobject_cleanup
              kfree_const
                kfree(name)

hci_dev_put:
  ...
    kfree(name)

hci_conn_put:
  put_device
    ...
      kfree(name)

This patch drop the hci_dev_put and hci_conn_put function
call in hci_conn_cleanup function, because the object is
freed in hci_conn_del_sysfs function.

This patch also fixes the refcounting in hci_conn_add_sysfs() and
hci_conn_del_sysfs() to take into account device_add() failures.

This fixes CVE-2023-28464.

Lee, Chun-Yi
1ffc6f8cc3 Bluetooth: Reject connection with the device which has same BD_ADDR
This change is used to relieve CVE-2020-26555. The description of
the CVE:

Bluetooth legacy BR/EDR PIN code pairing in Bluetooth Core Specification
1.0B through 5.2 may permit an unauthenticated nearby device to spoof
the BD_ADDR of the peer device to complete pairing without knowledge
of the PIN. [1]

The detail of this attack is in IEEE paper:
BlueMirror: Reflections on Bluetooth Pairing and Provisioning Protocols
[2]

It's a reflection attack. The paper mentioned that attacker can induce
the attacked target to generate null link key (zero key) without PIN
code. In BR/EDR, the key generation is actually handled in the controller
which is below HCI.

A condition of this attack is that attacker should change the
BR_ADDR of his hacking device (Host B) to equal to the BR_ADDR with
the target device being attacked (Host A).

Thus, we reject the connection with device which has same BD_ADDR
both on HCI_Create_Connection and HCI_Connection_Request to prevent
the attack. A similar implementation also shows in btstack project.
