d5e3152037 ixgbe: add MDD support
Add malicious driver detection to ixgbe driver. The supported devices
are E610 and X550.

Handling MDD events is enabled while VFs are created and turned off
when they are disabled. There is no runtime command to enable or
disable MDD independently.

MDD event is logged when malicious VF driver is detected. For example VF
can try to send incorrect Tx descriptor (TSO on, but length field not
correct). It can be reproduced by manipulating the driver, or using
driver with incorrect descriptor values.

Example log:
"Malicious event on VF 0 tx:128 rx:128"

670678399e ixgbe: Fix typos and clarify comments in X550 driver code
Corrected spelling errors such as "simular" -> "similar",
"excepted" -> "accepted", and "Determime" -> "Determine".
Fixed including incorrect word usage ("to MAC" -> "two MAC")
and improved awkward phrasing.

Aligned function header descriptions with their actual functionality
(e.g., "Writes a value" -> "Reads a value").
Corrected typo in error code from -ENIVAL to -EINVAL.
Improved overall clarity and consistency in comment across various
functions.

These changes improve maintainability and readability of the code
without affecting functionality.

4b2c75ffea ixgbe: Break include dependency cycle
Header ixgbe_type.h includes ixgbe_mbx.h. Also, header
ixgbe_mbx.h included ixgbe_type.h, thus introducing a circular

- Remove ixgbe_mbx.h inclusion from ixgbe_type.h.

- ixgbe_mbx.h requires the definition of struct ixgbe_mbx_operations

- Add required forward structure declarations.

- Include ixgbe_mbx.h in the .c files that need it, for the

b35b1c0b4e Revert "ixgbe: Manual AN-37 for troublesome link partners for X550 SFI"
This reverts commit 565736048b.

According to the commit, it implements a manual AN-37 for some
"troublesome" Juniper MX5 switches. This appears to be a workaround for a
particular switch.

It has been reported that this causes a severe breakage for other switches,
including a Cisco 3560CX-12PD-S.

The code appears to be a workaround for a specific switch which fails to
link in SFI mode. It expects to see AN-37 auto negotiation in order to
link. The Cisco switch is not expecting AN-37 auto negotiation. When the
device starts the manual AN-37, the Cisco switch decides that the port is
confused and stops attempting to link with it. This persists until a power
cycle. A simple driver unload and reload does not resolve the issue, even
if loading with a version of the driver which lacks this workaround.

The authors of the workaround commit have not responded with
clarifications, and the result of the workaround is complete failure to
connect with other switches.

This appears to be a case where the driver can either "correctly" link with
the Juniper MX5 switch, at the cost of bricking the link with the Cisco
switch, or it can behave properly for the Cisco switch, but fail to link
with the Junipir MX5 switch. I do not know enough about the standards
involved to clearly determine whether either switch is at fault or behaving
incorrectly. Nor do I know whether there exists some alternative fix which
corrects behavior with both switches.

Revert the workaround for the Juniper switch.

bf0a375055 ixgbe: set X550 MDIO speed before talking to PHY
The MDIO bus speed must be initialized before talking to the PHY the first
time in order to avoid talking to it using a speed that the PHY doesn't
support.

This fixes HW initialization error -17 (IXGBE_ERR_PHY_ADDR_INVALID) on
Denverton CPUs (a.k.a. the Atom C3000 family) on ports with a 10Gb network
plugged in. On those devices, HLREG0[MDCSPD] resets to 1, which combined
with the 10Gb network results in a 24MHz MDIO speed, which is apparently
too fast for the connected PHY. PHY register reads over MDIO bus return
garbage, leading to initialization failure.

Reproduced with Linux kernel 4.19 and 5.15-rc7. Can be reproduced using
the following setup:

* Use an Atom C3000 family system with at least one X552 LAN on the SoC
* Disable PXE or other BIOS network initialization if possible
(the interface must not be initialized before Linux boots)
* Connect a live 10Gb Ethernet cable to an X550 port
* Power cycle (not reset, doesn't always work) the system and boot Linux
* Observe: ixgbe interfaces w/ 10GbE cables plugged in fail with error -17

48301cf22f ixgbe: Update NW_MNG_IF_SEL support for X553
The MAC register NW_MNG_IF_SEL fields have been redefined for
X553. These changes impact the iXFI driver code flow. Since iXFI is
only supported in X552, add MAC checks for iXFI flows.

72f740b101 ixgbe: Enable LASI interrupts for X552 devices
Enable LASI interrupts on X552 devices in order to receive notifications of
link configurations of the external PHY and support the configuration of
the internal iXFI link since iXFI does not support auto-negotiation. This
is not required for X553 devices; add a check to avoid enabling LASI
interrupts for X553 devices.

5e999fb43e ixgbe: Remove MAC X550EM_X 1Gbase-t led_[on|off] support
Since FW configures the PHY and MAC X550EM_X has no
PHY access, led_[on|off] is not supported with the 1Gbase-t design.

Removed MAC X550EM_X 1Gbase-t led_[on|off] support by setting
function pointers to NULL and added NULL pointer checks. Also set
init_led_link_act to NULL and added NULL pointer check.

6133406be1 ixgbe: Acquire PHY semaphore before device reset
A recent firmware change fixed an issue to acquire the PHY semaphore before
accessing PHY registers. This led to a case where SW can issue a device
reset clearing the MDIO registers. This patch makes SW acquire the PHY
semaphore before issuing a device reset.

f4a6374ba4 ixgbe: add check for VETO bit when configuring link for KR
We did not have a check in place for MMNGC.MNG_VETO when setting up link
on X550EM_X KR devices which resulted in link loss for the BMC when
loading the driver.

This patch adds a check for ixgbe_check_reset_blocked() in setup_link()
since in that case there is no PHY reset function.
