dc913385dd mmc: block: Support alternative_gpt_sector() operation
Support generic alternative_gpt_sector() block device operation.
It calculates location of GPT entry for eMMC of NVIDIA Tegra Android
devices. Add new MMC_CAP2_ALT_GPT_TEGRA flag that enables scanning of
alternative GPT sector and add raw_boot_mult field to mmc_ext_csd
which allows to get size of the boot partitions that is needed for
the calculation.

fe72d08a96 mmc: core: Issue HPI in case the BKOPS timed out
If the BKOPS timed out, the card is probably still busy in the
R1_STATE_PRG. Rather than continue as nothing has happened and hitting and
error for the next command being sent, let's try to abort the running BKOPS
by sending a HPI command to get back into R1_STATE_TRAN.

e285b3e064 mmc: sdio: Print contents of unknown CIS tuples
Print out the contents of the offending tuples when we do print them.
This can make it easier to debug, since these tuples are not exposed to
userspace anywhere else. We are limited to 64 bytes, so keep printing
out the full length in case the tuple is truncated.

4b5e37b8fd mmc: sdio: Don't warn about vendor CIS tuples
CIS tuples in the range 0x80-0x8F are reserved for vendors. Some devices
have tuples in this range which get warned about every boot. Since this
is normal behavior, don't print these tuples unless debug is enabled.

Unfortunately, we cannot use a variable for the format string since it
gets pasted by pr_*_ratelimited.

86c639ce08 mmc: core: Store pointer to bio_crypt_ctx in mmc_request
Make 'struct mmc_request' contain a pointer to the request's
'struct bio_crypt_ctx' directly, instead of extracting a 32-bit DUN from
it which is a cqhci-crypto specific detail.

This keeps the cqhci crypto specific details in the cqhci module, and it
makes mmc_core and mmc_block ready for MMC crypto hardware that accepts
the DUN and/or key in a way that is more flexible than that which will
be specified by the eMMC v5.2 standard.  Exynos SoCs are an example of
such hardware, as their inline encryption hardware takes keys directly
(it has no concept of keyslots) and supports 128-bit DUNs.

Note that the 32-bit DUN length specified by the standard is very
restrictive, so it is likely that more hardware will support longer DUNs
despite it not following the standard.  Thus, limiting the scope of the
32-bit DUN assumption to the place that actually needs it is warranted.

state with CMD13, this is done without any delays in between the commands
being sent.

Rather than fixing card_busy_detect() in this regards, let's instead
convert into using the common __mmc_poll_for_busy(), which also helps us to
avoid open-coding.

39b7b42be4 tty: stop using alloc_tty_driver
alloc_tty_driver was deprecated by tty_alloc_driver in commit
7f0bc6a68e (TTY: pass flags to alloc_tty_driver) in 2012.

I never got into eliminating alloc_tty_driver until now. So we still
have two functions for allocating drivers which might be confusing. So
get rid of alloc_tty_driver uses to eliminate it for good in the next
patch.

Note we need to switch return value checking as tty_alloc_driver uses
ERR_PTR. And flags are now a parameter of tty_alloc_driver.

fc7a6209d5 bus: Make remove callback return void
The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there
is only little it can do when a device disappears.

This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several
buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback.
Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers
returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go
away.

With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly
implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate
wrong expectations for driver authors.

10252bae86 mmc: core: Don't allocate IDA for OF aliases
There's a chance that the IDA allocated in mmc_alloc_host() is not freed
for some time because it's freed as part of a class' release function
(see mmc_host_classdev_release() where the IDA is freed). If another
thread is holding a reference to the class, then only once all balancing
device_put() calls (in turn calling kobject_put()) have been made will
the IDA be released and usable again.

Normally this isn't a problem because the kobject is released before
anything else that may want to use the same number tries to again, but
with CONFIG_DEBUG_KOBJECT_RELEASE=y and OF aliases it becomes pretty
easy to try to allocate an alias from the IDA twice while the first time
it was allocated is still pending a call to ida_simple_remove(). It's
also possible to trigger it by using CONFIG_DEBUG_KOBJECT_RELEASE and
probe defering a driver at boot that calls mmc_alloc_host() before
trying to get resources that may defer likes clks or regulators.

Instead of allocating from the IDA in this scenario, let's just skip it
if we know this is an OF alias. The number is already "claimed" and
devices that aren't using OF aliases won't try to use the claimed
numbers anyway (see mmc_first_nonreserved_index()). This should avoid
any issues with mmc_alloc_host() returning failures from the
ida_simple_get() in the case that we're using an OF alias.

Looking closer at the problem, it looks like a classic dangling pointer
bug. The 'struct mmc_blk_data' that is used after being freed in
mmc_blk_put() is stashed away in 'md->disk->private_data' via
mmc_blk_alloc_req() but used in mmc_blk_get() because the 'usage' count
isn't properly aligned with the lifetime of the pointer. You'd expect
the 'usage' member to be in sync with the kfree(), and it mostly is,
except that mmc_blk_get() needs to dereference the potentially freed
memory storage for the 'struct mmc_blk_data' stashed away in the
private_data member to look at 'usage' before it actually figures out if
it wants to consider it a valid pointer or not. That's not going to work
if the freed memory has been overwritten by something else after the
free, and KASAN rightly complains here.

To fix the immediate problem, let's set the private_data member to NULL
in mmc_blk_put() so that mmc_blk_get() can consider the object "on the
way out" if the pointer is NULL and not even try to look at 'usage' if
the object isn't going to be around much longer. With that set to NULL
on the last mmc_blk_put(), optimize the get path further and use a kref
underneath the 'open_lock' mutex to only up the reference count if it's
non-zero, i.e.  alive, and otherwise make mmc_blk_get() return NULL,
without actually testing the reference count if we're in the process of
removing the object from the system.

Finally, tighten the locking region on the put side to only be around
the parts that are removing the 'mmc_blk_data' from the system and
publishing that fact to the gendisk and then drop the lock as soon as we
can to avoid holding the lock around code that doesn't need it. This
fixes the KASAN issue.

77347eda64 mmc: core: clear flags before allowing to retune
It might be that something goes wrong during tuning so the MMC core will
immediately trigger a retune. In our case it was:

 - we sent a tuning block
 - there was an error so we need to send an abort cmd to the eMMC
 - the abort cmd had a CRC error
 - retune was set by the MMC core

This lead to a vicious circle causing a performance regression of 75%.
So, clear retuning flags before we enable retuning to start with a known
cleared state.

09247e110b mmc: core: Allow UHS-I voltage switch for SDSC cards if supported
While initializing an UHS-I SD card, the mmc core first tries to switch to
1.8V I/O voltage, before it continues to change the settings for the bus
speed mode.

However, the current behaviour in the mmc core is inconsistent and doesn't
conform to the SD spec. More precisely, an SD card that supports UHS-I must
set both the SD_OCR_CCS bit and the SD_OCR_S18R bit in the OCR register
response. When switching to 1.8V I/O the mmc core correctly checks both of
the bits, but only the SD_OCR_S18R bit when changing the settings for bus
speed mode.

Rather than actually fixing the code to confirm to the SD spec, let's
deliberately deviate from it by requiring only the SD_OCR_S18R bit for both
parts. This enables us to support UHS-I for SDSC cards (outside spec),
which is actually being supported by some existing SDSC cards. Moreover,
this fixes the inconsistent behaviour.

130206a615 mmc: core: Add support for cache ctrl for SD cards
In SD spec v6.x the SD function extension registers for performance
enhancements were introduced. As a part of this an optional internal cache
on the SD card, can be used to improve performance.

The let the SD card use the cache, the host needs to enable it and manage
flushing of the cache, so let's add support for this.

Note that for an SD card supporting the cache it's mandatory for it, to
also support the poweroff notification feature. According to the SD spec,
if the cache has been enabled and a poweroff notification is sent to the
card, that implicitly also means that the card should flush its internal
cache. Therefore, dealing with cache flushing for REQ_OP_FLUSH block
requests is sufficient.

command queuing is enabled."
which means if CMDQ is enabled, the FFU commands will not be supported.
To fix this issue, just simply disable CMDQ on the ioctl path, and
re-enable CMDQ once ioctl request is completed.

it at system suspend, at runtime suspend or at shutdown, let's add support
for a graceful power off sequence via enabling the SD Power Off
Notification feature.

Note that, the Power Off Notification feature was added in the SD spec
v4.x, which is several years ago. However, it's still a bit unclear how

In SD spec v6.x the SD function extension registers for performance
enhancements were introduced. These registers let the SD card announce
supports for various performance related features, like "self-maintenance",
"cache" and "command queuing".

Let's extend the parsing of SD function extension registers and store the
information in the struct mmc_card. This prepares for subsequent changes to
implement the complete support for new the performance enhancement
features.

c784f92769 mmc: core: Read the SD function extension registers for power management
In the SD spec v4.0 the CMD48/49 and CMD58/59 were introduced as optional
commands. In the SD spec v4.1 the SD function extension registers were
introduced, which requires support for CMD48/49/58/59 to be read/written
from/to.

Moreover, a specific function extension register were added to let the card
announce support for optional features in regards to power management. The
features that were added are "Power Off Notification", "Power Down Mode"
and "Power Sustenance".

As a first step to support this, let's read and parse the register for
power management during the SD card initialization and store the
information about the supported features in the struct mmc_card. In this
way, we prepare for subsequent changes to implement the complete support
for the new features.

6fa79651cc mmc: core: Enable eMMC sleep commands to use HW busy polling
After the eMMC sleep command (CMD5) has been sent, the card start signals
busy on the DAT0 line, which can be monitored to understand when it's
allowed to proceed to power off the VCC regulator.

When MMC_CAP_WAIT_WHILE_BUSY isn't supported by the host the DAT0 line
isn't being monitored for busy completion, but instead we are waiting a
fixed period of time. The time corresponds to the sleep timeout that is
specified in the EXT_CSD register of the eMMC card. This is many cases
suboptimal, as the timeout corresponds to the worst case scenario.

To improve the situation add support for HW busy polling through the
->card_busy() host ops, when the host supports this.

04f967ad28 mmc: core: Extend re-use of __mmc_poll_for_busy()
Via __mmc_poll_for_busy() we end up polling with the ->card_busy() host ops
or by sending the CMD13. To allow polling of different types, which is
needed to support a few new SD card features, let's rework the code around
__mmc_poll_for_busy() to make it more generic.

More precisely, let __mmc_poll_for_busy() take a pointer to a callback
function as in-parameter, which it calls to poll for busy state completion.
Additionally, let's share __mmc_poll_for_busy() to allow it to be re-used
outside of mmc_ops.c. Subsequent changes will make use of it.

c7bedef053 mmc: core: Take into account MMC_CAP_NEED_RSP_BUSY for eMMC HPI commands
In mmc_send_hpi_cmd() the host->max_busy_timeout is being validated towards
the timeout for the eMMC HPI command, as to decide whether an R1 or R1B
response should be used.

Although, it has turned out the some host can't cope with that conversion,
but needs R1B, which means MMC_CAP_NEED_RSP_BUSY is set for them. Let's
take this into account, via using the common mmc_prepare_busy_cmd() when
doing the validation, which also avoids some open coding.

6e94dbc7a4 tty: cumulate and document tty_struct::flow* members
Group the flow flags under a single struct called flow. The new struct
contains 'stopped' and 'tco_stopped' bools which used to be bits in a
bitfield. The struct also contains the lock protecting them to
potentially share the same cache line.

Note that commit c545b66c69 (tty: Serialize tcflow() with other tty
flow control changes) added a padding to the original bitfield. It was
for the bitfield to occupy a whole 64b word to avoid interferring stores
on Alpha (cannot we evaporate this arch with weird implications to C
code yet?). But it doesn't work as expected as the padding
(tty_struct::unused) is aligned to a 8B boundary too and occupies some
bytes from the next word.

So make it reliable by:
1) setting __aligned of the struct -- that aligns the start, and
2) making 'unsigned long unused[0]' as the last member of the struct --
   pads the end.

This is also the perfect time to start the documentation of tty_struct
where all this lives. So we start by documenting what these bools
actually serve for. And why we do all the alignment dances. Only the few
up-to-date information from the Theodore's comment made it into this new
Kerneldoc comment.

97fce126e2 mmc: block: Issue a cache flush only when it's enabled
In command queueing mode, the cache isn't flushed via the mmc_flush_cache()
function, but instead by issuing a CMDQ_TASK_MGMT (CMD48) with a
FLUSH_CACHE opcode. In this path, we need to check if cache has been
enabled, before deciding to flush the cache, along the lines of what's
being done in mmc_flush_cache().

To fix this problem, let's add a new bus ops callback ->cache_enabled() and
implement it for the mmc bus type. In this way, the mmc block device driver
can call it to know whether cache flushing should be done.

17a17bf506 mmc: core: Fix hanging on I/O during system suspend for removable cards
The mmc core uses a PM notifier to temporarily during system suspend, turn
off the card detection mechanism for removal/insertion of (e)MMC/SD/SDIO
cards. Additionally, the notifier may be used to remove an SDIO card
entirely, if a corresponding SDIO functional driver don't have the system
suspend/resume callbacks assigned. This behaviour has been around for a
very long time.

However, a recent bug report tells us there are problems with this
approach. More precisely, when receiving the PM_SUSPEND_PREPARE
notification, we may end up hanging on I/O to be completed, thus also
preventing the system from getting suspended.

In the end what happens, is that the cancel_delayed_work_sync() in
mmc_pm_notify() ends up waiting for mmc_rescan() to complete - and since
mmc_rescan() wants to claim the host, it needs to wait for the I/O to be
completed first.

Typically, this problem is triggered in Android, if there is ongoing I/O
while the user decides to suspend, resume and then suspend the system
again. This due to that after the resume, an mmc_rescan() work gets punted
to the workqueue, which job is to verify that the card remains inserted
after the system has resumed.

To fix this problem, userspace needs to become frozen to suspend the I/O,
prior to turning off the card detection mechanism. Therefore, let's drop
the PM notifiers for mmc subsystem altogether and rely on the card
detection to be turned off/on as a part of the system_freezable_wq, that we
are already using.

Moreover, to allow and SDIO card to be removed during system suspend, let's
manage this from a ->prepare() callback, assigned at the mmc_host_class
level. In this way, we can use the parent device (the mmc_host_class
device), to remove the card device that is the child, in the
device_prepare() phase.

6f1d324766 mmc: block: Fix error path in mmc_blk_probe()
Returning zero to indicate success, when we actually have failed to probe
is wrong. As a matter of fact, it leads to that mmc_blk_remove() gets
called at a card removal and then triggers "NULL pointer dereference"
splats. This is because mmc_blk_remove() relies on data structures and
pointers to be setup from mmc_blk_probe(), of course.

There have been no errors reported about this, which is most likely because
mmc_blk_probe() never fails like this. Nevertheless, let's fix the code by
propagating the error codes correctly and prevent us from leaking memory by

Some of SD cards sets permanent write protection bit in their CSD register,

e9ce2ce17d mmc: core: Drop reference counting of the bus_ops
When the mmc_rescan work is enabled for execution (host->rescan_disable),
it's the only instance per mmc host that is allowed to set/clear the
host->bus_ops pointer.

Besides the mmc_rescan work, there are a couple of scenarios when the
host->bus_ops pointer may be accessed. Typically, those can be described as
as below:

Upper mmc driver layers (like the mmc block device driver or an SDIO
functional driver) needs to execute a host->bus_ops callback. This can be
considered as safe without having to use some special locking mechanism,
because they operate on top of the struct mmc_card. As long as there is a
card to operate upon, the mmc core guarantees that there is a host->bus_ops
assigned as well. Note that, upper layer mmc drivers are of course
responsible to clean up from themselves from their ->remove() callbacks,
otherwise things would fall apart anyways.

Via the mmc host instance, we may need to force a removal of an inserted
mmc card. This happens when a mmc host driver gets unbind, for example. In
this case, we protect the host->bus_ops pointer from concurrent accesses,
by disabling the mmc_rescan work upfront (host->rescan_disable). See
mmc_stop_host() for example.

This said, it seems like the reference counting of the host->bus_ops
pointer at some point have become superfluous. As this is an old mechanism
of the mmc core, it a bit difficult to digest the history of when that
could have happened. However, let's drop the reference counting to avoid
unnecessary code-paths and lockings.

fefdd3c91e mmc: core: Drop superfluous validations in mmc_hw|sw_reset()
The mmc_hw|sw_reset() APIs are designed to be called solely from upper
layers, which means drivers that operates on top of the struct mmc_card,
like the mmc block device driver and an SDIO functional driver.

Additionally, as long as the struct mmc_host has a valid pointer to a
struct mmc_card, the corresponding host->bus_ops pointer stays valid and
assigned.

For these reasons, let's drop the superfluous reference counting and the
redundant validations in mmc_hw|sw_reset().

147186f531 mmc: core: Do a power cycle when the CMD11 fails
A CMD11 is sent to the SD/SDIO card to start the voltage switch procedure
into 1.8V I/O. According to the SD spec a power cycle is needed of the
card, if it turns out that the CMD11 fails. Let's fix this, to allow a
retry of the initialization without the voltage switch, to succeed.

Note that, whether it makes sense to also retry with the voltage switch
after the power cycle is a bit more difficult to know. At this point, we
treat it like the CMD11 isn't supported and therefore we skip it when
retrying.

3f957dec6d mmc: mmc_test: use erase_arg for mmc_erase command
Since [1], the erase argument for mmc_erase() function is saved in
erase_arg field of card structure. It is preferable to use it instead of
hard-coded MMC_SECURE_ERASE_ARG, which from eMMC 4.51 spec is not
recommended:

NOTE Secure Erase is included for backwards compatibility. New system
level implementations (based on v4.51 devices and beyond) should use
Erase combined with Sanitize instead of secure erase."

On STM32MP157C-EV1 board, embedding a THGBMDG5D1LBAIL eMMC, using
MMC_ERASE command with MMC_SECURE_ERASE_ARG may stuck the STM32 SDMMC IP,
if test 37 or test 38 are launched just after a write test, e.g. test 36.
Using the default MMC_ERASE argument from framework with erase_arg,
which default in our case to MMC_DISCARD_ARG does no more trig the
issue.

93f1c150cb mmc: core: Add basic support for inline encryption
In preparation for adding CQHCI crypto engine (inline encryption)
support, add the code required to make mmc_core and mmc_block aware of
inline encryption.  Specifically:

- Add a capability flag MMC_CAP2_CRYPTO to struct mmc_host.  Drivers
  will set this if the host and driver support inline encryption.

- Embed a blk_keyslot_manager in struct mmc_host.  Drivers will
  initialize this (as a device-managed resource) if the host and driver
  support inline encryption.  mmc_block registers this keyslot manager
  with the request_queue of any MMC card attached to the host.

- Make mmc_block copy the crypto keyslot and crypto data unit number
  from struct request to struct mmc_request, so that drivers will have
  access to them.

- If the MMC host is reset, reprogram all the keyslots to ensure that
  the software state stays in sync with the hardware state.

Drivers for MMC hosts that accept phase corrections can take advantage
of the helper by embedding an instance of struct mmc_clk_phase_map in
their private data and invoking mmc_of_parse_clk_phase() to extract
phase parameters. It is the responsibility of the host driver to
translate and apply the extracted values to hardware as required.

b503087445 mmc: core: don't initialize block size from ext_csd if not present
If extended CSD was not available, the eMMC driver would incorrectly
set the block size to 0, as the data_sector_size field of ext_csd
was never initialized. This issue was exposed by commit 817046ecdd
("block: Align max_hw_sectors to logical blocksize") which caused
max_sectors and max_hw_sectors to be set to 0 after setting the block
size to 0, resulting in a kernel panic in bio_split when attempting
to read from the device. Fix it by only reading the block size from
ext_csd if it is available.

ead49373d2 mmc: core: Initial support for SD express card/host
In the SD specification v7.10 the SD express card has been added. This new
type of removable SD card, can be managed via a PCIe/NVMe based interface,
while also allowing backwards compatibility towards the legacy SD
interface.

To keep the backwards compatibility, it's required to start the
initialization through the legacy SD interface. If it turns out that the
mmc host and the SD card, both supports the PCIe/NVMe interface, then a
switch should be allowed.

Therefore, let's introduce some basic support for this type of SD cards to
the mmc core. The mmc host, should set MMC_CAP2_SD_EXP if it supports this
interface and MMC_CAP2_SD_EXP_1_2V, if also 1.2V is supported, as to inform
the core about it.

To deal with the switch to the PCIe/NVMe interface, the mmc host is
required to implement a new host ops, ->init_sd_express(). Based on the
initial communication between the host and the card, host->ios.timing is
set to either MMC_TIMING_SD_EXP or MMC_TIMING_SD_EXP_1_2V, depending on if
1.2V is supported or not. In this way, the mmc host can check these values
in its ->init_sd_express() ops, to know how to proceed with the handover.

Note that, to manage card insert/removal, the mmc core sticks with using
the ->get_cd() callback, which means it's the host's responsibility to make
sure it provides valid data, even if the card may be managed by PCIe/NVMe
at the moment. As long as the card seems to be present, the mmc core keeps
the card powered on.

This patch fixes the issue by setting discard_granularity as SECTOR_SIZE
instead of 0 when (card->pref_erase > max_discard) is true. Now no more
complain from __blkdev_issue_discard() for the improper value of discard
granularity.

This issue is exposed after commit b35fd7422c ("block: check queue's
limits.discard_granularity in __blkdev_issue_discard()"), a "Fixes:" tag
is also added for the commit to make sure people won't miss this patch

1cb039f3dc bdi: replace BDI_CAP_STABLE_WRITES with a queue and a sb flag
The BDI_CAP_STABLE_WRITES is one of the few bits of information in the
backing_dev_info shared between the block drivers and the writeback code.
To help untangling the dependency replace it with a queue flag and a
superblock flag derived from it.  This also helps with the case of e.g.
a file system requiring stable writes due to its own checksumming, but
not forcing it on other users of the block device like the swap code.

One downside is that we an't support the stable_pages_required bdi
attribute in sysfs anymore.  It is replaced with a queue attribute which
also is writable for easier testing.

Our driver needs to know when tuning is in progress. 'doing_retune' only
covers re-tuning, not the initial tuning. Add another flag to detect the
initial tuning state and add a helper which tells us if any kind of
tuning is going on. Only implemented for MMC currently because that's
where we need it. SD can be added later if it becomes necessary.

As with GPIO, UART and others, allow specifying the device index via the
aliases node in the device tree.

On embedded devices, there is often a combination of removable (e.g.
SD card) and non-removable MMC devices (e.g. eMMC).

This makes it difficult to hardcode the root device, if it is on the
non-removable device. E.g. if SD card is present eMMC will be mmcblk1,
if SD card is not present at boot, eMMC will be mmcblk0.

Alternative solutions like PARTUUIDs do not cover the case where multiple
mmcblk devices contain the same image. This is a common issue on devices
that can boot both from eMMC (for regular boot) and SD cards (as a
temporary boot medium for development). When a firmware image is
installed to eMMC after a test boot via SD card, there will be no
reliable way to refer to a specific device using (PART)UUIDs oder
LABELs.

The demand for this feature has led to multiple attempts to implement
it, dating back at least to 2012 (see
https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-mmc/msg26586.html for a previous
discussion from 2014).

All indices defined in the aliases node will be reserved for use by the
respective MMC device, moving the indices of devices that don't have an
alias up into the non-reserved range. If the aliases node is not found,
the driver will act as before.

b698f6abb7 mmc: sdio: Export SDIO revision and info strings to userspace
For SDIO functions, SDIO cards and SD COMBO cards are exported revision
number and info strings from CISTPL_VERS_1 structure. Revision number
should indicate compliance of standard and info strings should contain
product information in same format as product information for PCMCIA cards.

Product information for PCMCIA cards should contain following strings in
this order: Manufacturer, Product Name, Lot number, Programming Conditions.

Note that not all SDIO cards export all those info strings in that order as
described in PCMCIA Metaformat Specification.

f0c393e210 mmc: sdio: Use mmc_pre_req() / mmc_post_req()
SDHCI changed from using a tasklet to finish requests, to using an IRQ
thread i.e. commit c07a48c265 ("mmc: sdhci: Remove finish_tasklet").
Because this increased the latency to complete requests, a preparatory
change was made to complete the request from the IRQ handler if
possible i.e. commit 19d2f695f4 ("mmc: sdhci: Call mmc_request_done()
from IRQ handler if possible").  That alleviated the situation for MMC
block devices because the MMC block driver makes use of mmc_pre_req()
and mmc_post_req() so that successful requests are completed in the IRQ
handler and any DMA unmapping is handled separately in mmc_post_req().
However SDIO was still affected, and an example has been reported with
up to 20% degradation in performance.

Looking at SDIO I/O helper functions, sdio_io_rw_ext_helper() appeared
to be a possible candidate for making use of asynchronous requests
within its I/O loops, but analysis revealed that these loops almost
never iterate more than once, so the complexity of the change would not
be warrented.

Instead, mmc_pre_req() and mmc_post_req() are added before and after I/O
submission (mmc_wait_for_req) in mmc_io_rw_extended().  This still has
the potential benefit of reducing the duration of interrupt handlers, as
well as addressing the latency issue for SDHCI.  It also seems a more
reasonable solution than forcing drivers to do everything in the IRQ
handler.

ec02760b63 mmc: core: Add MMC_CAP2_FULL_PWR_CYCLE_IN_SUSPEND
The commit 5a36d6bcdf ("mmc: core: Add DT-bindings for
MMC_CAP2_FULL_PWR_CYCLE") added the "full-pwr-cycle" property which
is possible to perform a full power cycle of the card at any time.

However, some environment (like r8a77951-salvator-xs) is possible
to perform a full power cycle of the card in suspend via firmware
(PSCI on arm-trusted-firmware). So, in worst case, since we are
not doing a graceful shutdown of the eMMC device (just cut VCCQ
while the eMMC is "sleeping") in suspend, it could lead to internal
data corruptions. So, add MMC_CAP2_FULL_PWR_CYCLE_IN_SUSPEND
to do a graceful shutdown which issues Power Off notification
before entering system suspend.

In current code logic, when work in SDR12/SDR25 mode, the final clock
rate is incorrect, just the legancy 400KHz, because the
card->sw_caps.sd3_bus_mode do not has the flag SD_MODE_UHS_SDR12 or
SD_MODE_UHS_SDR25. Besides, SDIO_SPEED_SDR12 is actually value 0, and
every mode need to config the timing and clock rate, so remove the
‘if’ operator.

Commit 6b5eda369a ("sdio: put active devices into 1-bit mode during
suspend") disabled 4-bit mode during system suspend. After this patch,
commit 7310ece86a ("mmc: implement SD-combo (IO+mem) support") used
new sdio_enable_4bit_bus() instead of sdio_enable_wide() to support
SD-combo cards, also for card resume. However, no corresponding support
added during suspend. That is not correct. Let's fix it.

ec97863cac mmc: sdio: Enable SDIO 4-bit bus if not support SD_SCR_BUS_WIDTH_4 for SD combo card
If the card type is SD combo(MMC_TYPE_SD_COMBO) and the memory part does
not support wider bus(SD_SCR_BUS_WIDTH_4), nothing will be done except
return 0. However, we should check whether IO part support wider bus or
not. We should use available IO ability if supported.

In addition, there's a duplicated check to MMC_CAP_4_BIT_DATA since
sdio_enable_wide() will include that check. And we can also save one
call site to sdio_enable_wide() after this change.

b52fb259df mmc: core: Always allow the card detect uevent to be consumed
The approach to allow userspace ~5s to consume the uevent, which is
triggered when a new card is inserted/initialized, currently requires the
mmc host to support system wakeup.

This is unnecessary limiting, especially for an mmc host that relies on a
GPIO IRQ for card detect. More precisely, the mmc host may not support
system wakeup for its corresponding struct device, while the GPIO IRQ still
could be configured as a wakeup IRQ via enable_irq_wake().

To support all various cases, let's simply drop the need for the wakeup
support. Instead let's always register a wakeup source and activate it for
all card detect IRQs by calling __pm_wakeup_event().

15f73f5b3e blk-mq: move failure injection out of blk_mq_complete_request
Move the call to blk_should_fake_timeout out of blk_mq_complete_request
and into the drivers, skipping call sites that are obvious error
handlers, and remove the now superflous blk_mq_force_complete_rq helper.
This ensures we don't keep injecting errors into completions that just
terminate the Linux request after the hardware has been reset or the
command has been aborted.

254e175448 mmc: core: Export device/vendor ids from Common CIS for SDIO cards
Device/vendor ids from Common CIS (Card Information Structure) may be
different as device/vendor ids from CIS on particular SDIO function.

Kernel currently exports only device/vendor ids from SDIO functions and not
"main" device/vendor ids from Common CIS.

This patch exports "main" device/vendor ids for SDIO and SD combo cards at
top level mmc device in sysfs hierarchy.

Userspace can use e.g. udev rules to correctly match whole SDIO card based
on Common CIS device/vendor id and not only one particular SDIO function.
Having this information in userspace also helps developers to debug whole
SDIO card as e.g. kernel mmc quirks use device/vendor ids from Common CIS
and not from particular SDIO function. Also it allows to write userspace
applications which list all connected SDIO cards based on CIS ids.

4bc90f4922 mmc: sdio: Fix macro name for Marvell device with ID 0x9134
Marvell SDIO device ID 0x9134 is used in SDIO Common CIS (Card Information
Structure) and not in SDIO wlan function (with ID 1). SDIO Common CIS is
accessed by function ID 0.

So change this misleading macro name to SDIO_DEVICE_ID_MARVELL_8887_F0 as
it does not refer to wlan function. It refers to function 0.

Wlan module on this SDIO card is available at function ID 1 and is
identified by different SDIO device ID 0x9135. Kernel quirks for SDIO
devices are matched against device ID from SDIO Common CIS. Therefore
device ID used in quirk is correct, just has misleading name.

064f7e58ee mmc: core: expose info about enhanced rpmb support
Following eMMC JEDEC JESD84-B51 standard, an enhanced form of
rpmb is supported. What this enhanced mode supports is in addition
to be able to write one rpmb or two rpmb frames at a time,
32 frames can be written at a time.

Expose this information present in ext csd field so that the
user space application that wants to make use of this can do so.

According to the comment in mmc_sdio_reinit_card(), some SDIO cards may
require a "[CMD5,5,3,7] init sequence", which isn't always obeyed in
mmc_sdio_init_card(). Especially, when we end up retrying the UHS-I
specific initialization, there is a missing CMD5.

Let's update the code to make the behaviour consistent and let's also take
the opportunity to clean up the code a bit, to avoid open coding.

fa1e319192 mmc: sdio: Re-use negotiated OCR mask when re-sending CMD8
While initializing an SDIO card in mmc_sdio_init_card(), we may need to
retry the UHS-I specific initialization, in case the first attempt fails.

This leads to resending a CMD8, but also to restart from scratch with the
so called OCR mask negotiations. This is unnecessary as we already have a
negotiated OCR mask, so let's use that instead. In this way, the behaviour
also becomes more consistent with other similar paths.

a94a59f437 mmc: sdio: Fix several potential memory leaks in mmc_sdio_init_card()
Over the years, the code in mmc_sdio_init_card() has grown to become quite
messy. Unfortunate this has also lead to that several paths are leaking
memory in form of an allocated struct mmc_card, which includes additional
data, such as initialized struct device for example.

Unfortunate, it's a too complex task find each offending commit. Therefore,
this change fixes all memory leaks at once.

During some scenarios mmc_sdio_init_card() runs a retry path for the UHS-I
specific initialization, which leads to removal of the previously allocated

c077dc5e06 mmc: block: Fix request completion in the CQE timeout path
First, it should be noted that the CQE timeout (60 seconds) is substantial
so a CQE request that times out is really stuck, and the race between
timeout and completion is extremely unlikely. Nevertheless this patch
fixes an issue with it.

Commit ad73d6fead ("mmc: complete requests from ->timeout")
preserved the existing functionality, to complete the request.
However that had only been necessary because the block layer
timeout handler had been marking the request to prevent it from being
completed normally. That restriction was removed at the same time, the
result being that a request that has gone will have been completed anyway.
That is, the completion was unnecessary.

At the time, the unnecessary completion was harmless because the block
layer would ignore it, although that changed in kernel v5.0.

Note for stable, this patch will not apply cleanly without patch "mmc:
core: Fix recursive locking issue in CQE recovery path"

mmc_mq_timed_out acquires the queue_lock for the first
time. The mmc_blk_cqe_complete_rq function also tries to acquire
the same queue lock resulting in recursive locking where the task
is spinning for the same lock which it has already acquired leading
to watchdog bark.

Fix this issue with the lock only for the required critical section.

e6bfb1bf00 mmc: core: Check request type before completing the request
In the request completion path with CQE, request type is being checked
after the request is getting completed. This is resulting in returning
the wrong request type and leading to the IO hang issue.

ASYNC request type is getting returned for DCMD type requests.
Because of this mismatch, mq->cqe_busy flag is never getting cleared
and the driver is not invoking blk_mq_hw_run_queue. So requests are not
getting dispatched to the LLD from the block layer.

All these eventually leading to IO hang issues.
So, get the request type before completing the request.

55c2b8b9a3 mmc: core: Re-work the code for eMMC sanitize
The error path for sanitize operations that completes with -ETIMEDOUT, is
tightly coupled with the internal request handling code of the core. More
precisely, mmc_wait_for_req_done() checks for specific sanitize errors.
This is not only inefficient as it affects all types of requests, but also
hackish.

Therefore, let's improve the behaviour by moving the error path out of the
mmc core. To do that, retuning needs to be held while running the sanitize
operation.

Moreover, to avoid exporting unnecessary symbols to the mmc block module,
let's move the code into the mmc_ops.c file. While updating the actual
code, let's also take the opportunity to clean up some of the mess around
it.

892bf10014 mmc: core: Fixup support for HW busy detection for HPI commands
In case the host specify a max_busy_timeout, we need to validate that the
needed timeout for the HPI command conforms to that requirement. If that's
not the case, let's convert from a R1B response to a R1 response, as to
instruct the host to avoid HW busy detection.

Additionally, when R1B is used we must also inform the host about the busy
timeout for the command, so let's do that via updating cmd.busy_timeout.

Finally, when R1B is used and in case the host supports HW busy detection,
there should be no need for doing polling, so then skip that.
