There is no module namespace "SND_SOC_SOF_INTEL_HIFI_EP_IPC", so don't
import it. Historically there was such a namespace, but it was dropped
in commit 97e22cbd0d ("ASoC: SOF: Make Intel IPC stream ops generic").

After commit 0edb555a65 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.
Convert all drivers below sound/soc to use .remove(), with the eventual
goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and
.remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just
changing the structure member name in the driver initializer.

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().
The SOF platform drivers all use either sof_of_remove() or
sof_acpi_remove() which both return zero unconditionally. Change these
functions to return void and the drivers to use .remove_new(). There is
no semantical change.

The used firmware loader (snd_sof_load_firmware_memcpy) can use the generic
module loading, which is by default uses the same implementation as the
snd_sof_parse_module_memcpy.

Now that we start having multiple platforms with minor variants, the
use of the const qualifier for 'dsp_ops' is starting to be
sub-optimal: the structures are copied across platforms, with only a
couple of members that differ.
This patch removes the const qualifier without any functionality
changes, and adds an optional initialization callback. In follow-up
patches, the dsp_ops will revisited for Intel HDaudio platforms, with
the differences added programmatically over a common baseline.

This patch adds a default IPC type for each platform, along with file
paths to be used for each IPC type. To make reviews simpler, we only
modify platform descriptors in this table, the information will be
used in the next patch.
The Intel IPCv4 is only supported on Intel platforms after APL, and
not by default. In follow-up patches, support for SKL and KBL will be
added, and in those two cases the IPCv4 will be the default (and only
supported mode).

The snd_sof_get_status() is not the best name for a function which in fact
is tasked to print out DSP oops and stack. Rename it to
sof_print_oops_and_stack().
At the same time add a new parameter to specify the desired kernel log
level to be used for the prints.
When updating the users of the function, pass KERN_ERR for now to make sure
that there is no functional change happens.

Some platforms use retries during firmware boot to overcome DSP startup
issues.
In these cases we might receive a DSP panic message which should not be
treated as fatal if it happens during boot.
Pass this information to snd_sof_dsp_panic() and omit the panic print if
it is not fatal or the user does not want to see all dumps.

This operations should be generic as there is nothing Intel
specific. This works well for NXP i.MX8 stream IPC ops.
We start by moving sof/intel/intel-ipc.c into sof/stream-ipc.c and
rename the functions to be generic.
Notice that we use newly introduced snd_sof_dsp_mailbox_read
instead of sof_mailbox_read, to make sure that we are not
bound to existing MMIO memory access, and we allow platform
to implement their own memory access routines.

We need to introduce snd_sof_mailbox_{read/write} in order to provide
a generic way for mailbox access. These routines are optional, each
platform can implement their own specific routines.
So far, all platforms use mmapped I/O thus they can use custom made
routines sof_mailbox_read / sof_mailbox_write that use MMIO.

To align with other platforms, set only the sdev->dsp_box.offset in
bdw_probe().
The mailbox offset must be set in order to be able to receive the firmware
ready message.
The offsets and sizes will be re-configured after the FW ready message
based on the window information.

The SOF-ACPI driver is backwards from the normal Linux model, it has a
generic driver that knows about all the specific drivers, as opposed to
having hardware specific drivers that link against a common framework.
This requires ugly Kconfig magic and leads to missed dependencies as
seen in this link error:
arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: sound/soc/sof/sof-pci-dev.o: in function `sof_acpi_probe':
sof-pci-dev.c:(.text+0x1c): undefined reference to `snd_intel_dsp_driver_probe'
Change it to use the normal probe order of starting with a specific
device in a driver, turning the sof-acpi-dev.c driver into a
library (exported symbols are name-spaced to avoid symbol pollution).
For backwards-compatibility with previous Kconfigs, the default values
for platform drivers uses the top-level ACPI configurations. The
modules were also renamed to allow for gradual transitions in test
scripts.

Major regressions were detected by SOF CI on CherryTrail and Broadwell:
[ 25.705750] SSP2-Codec: ASoC: no backend playback stream
[ 27.923378] SSP2-Codec: ASoC: no users playback at close - state
This is root-caused to the introduction of the DAI capability checks
with snd_soc_dai_stream_valid(). Its use in soc-pcm.c makes it a
requirement for all DAIs to report at least a non-zero min_channels
field.
For some reason the SSP structures used for SKL+ did provide this
information but legacy platforms didn't.

The current structures are not well designed. We include Xtensa
information from the ACPI and PCI levels, but at the Kconfig/module
level everything Xtensa related is included at the sof/intel level.
Move the arch_ops under ops so that Xtensa is hidden in the DSP ops,
with a structure that follows the Kconfig/module partition.

Currently, SOF probes machine drivers by creating a platform device
and passing the machine description as private data.
This is driven by the ACPI restrictions. Ideally, ACPI tables
should contain the description for the machine driver. This is
not possible because ACPI tables are frozen and used on multiple
OS-es (e.g Windows).
In the case of Device Tree we don't have this restriction, so we
choose to probe the machine drivers by creating a DT node as is
the standard ALSA way.
This patch makes the probing of machine drivers from SOF
core optional allowing for Device Tree platforms to decouple
the SOF core from machine driver probing.
Along with this, it also consolidates the machine driver selection
for Intel platforms by defining optional ops for selecting the machine
driver based on the ACPI match for HDA and non-HDA platforms and
setting the mach params.

The current position update is not precise enough for PulseAudio to
work reliably with the timer-based scheduling on Baytrail,
Cherrytrail, Broadwell.
Disable the NO_PERIOD_WAKEUP capability and use BATCH to signal that
the position is only reliable and updated during period_elapsed
events.
This will be reverted when the firmware provides a more accurate
position for those platforms.

Currently the INFO_ flags such as PAUSE/NO_PERIOD_WAKEUP are defined
in the SOF PCM core, which doesn't scale. To account for platform
variations, these flags need to be set in DSP ops.
This patch only moves the definitions and does not change any
functionality.

bdw_get_windows / bdw_fw_ready is identical with the generic
implementation introduced in a previous patch.
So remove bdw_get_windows / bdw_fw_ready and use the generic
sof_get_windows version.
Do not forget to implement get_mailbox_offset/get_window_offset
so that we export the correct mailbox/memory window offset to
the outside world.

This is reserved for some historical reason, we didn't enable memory
windows for byt/bdw at the beginning, to make it compatible, we get
those mailbox offsets from fw_ready struct firstly, and then update them
if they existed in the following memory windows, to make sure the
mailbox still can be used if no memory windows are created.
With this change all platforms have the same implementation for
xxx_fw_ready function so that we can refactor it in a common file.
