ASoC: Intel: avs: Fix theoretical infinite loop
While 'stack_dump_size' is a u32 bitfield of 16 bits, u32 has a bigger
upper bound than the type u16 of loop counter 'offset' what in theory
may lead to infinite loop condition.

Found out by Coverity static analyzer.

ASoC: Intel: avs: da7219: Remove suspend_pre() and resume_post()
The presence of a plugged jack is not detected after resuming the device
if the jack was plugged before the device was suspended. This problem is
caused by calling the
sound/soc/codecs/da7219-aad.c:da7219_aad_jack_det() function on resume,
which forces the jack insertion state to be unplugged.

I've observed KASAN on our setups and while patch itself is correct
regardless. Problem seems to be caused by recent changes to rates, as
this started happening after recent patchsets and doesn't reproduce with
those reverted

I've tested using Mark tree, where they are both applied and for some
reason snd_pcm_hw_constraint_minmax() started returning positive value,
while previously it returned 0. I'm bit worried if it signals some
potential deeper problem regarding constraints with above changes.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Update stream status in a separate thread
Function snd_pcm_period_elapsed() is part of sequence servicing HDAudio
stream IRQs. It's called under Global Interrupt Enable (GIE) disabled -
no HDAudio interrupts will be raised. At the same time, the function may
end up calling __snd_pcm_xrun() or snd_pcm_drain_done(). On the
avs-driver side, this translates to IPCs and as GIE is disabled, these
will never complete successfully.

Improve system stability by scheduling stream-IRQ handling in a separate
thread.

no_llseek had been defined to NULL two years ago, in commit 868941b144
("fs: remove no_llseek")

To quote that commit,

  At -rc1 we'll need do a mechanical removal of no_llseek -

	sed -i '/\<no_llseek\>/d' $i
  done

  would do it.

Unfortunately, that hadn't been done.  Linus, could you do that now, so
that we could finally put that thing to rest? All instances are of the
form
	.llseek = no_llseek,
so it's obviously safe.

9469cf57cd ASoC: Intel: avs: drop SNDRV_PCM_RATE_KNOT
The custom rate constraint list was necessary to support 12kHz, 24kHz and
128kHz. These rates are now available through SNDRV_PCM_RATE_12000,
SNDRV_PCM_RATE_24000 and SNDRV_PCM_RATE_128000.

Use them and drop the custom rate constraint rule.

Returned 'struct snd_soc_pcm_stream' by snd_soc_dai_get_pcm_stream() is
not modified by the users, so it can be changed as pointer to const.
This is a necessary step towards making the 'dai->driver' a pointer to
const.

2c92ca849f tracing/treewide: Remove second parameter of __assign_str()
With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it
saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the
assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper
value and does not need to be passed in again.

This means that with:

  __string(field, mystring)

Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer
needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str()
will now only get a single parameter.

There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not
handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script:

      mv /tmp/test-file $a;
  done

I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those
were multi line assignments that the sed script above would fail to catch.

Note, the same updates will need to be done for:

  __assign_str_len()
  __assign_rel_str()
  __assign_rel_str_len()

I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both).

ASoC: Intel: avs: PCM code cleanup
Merge series from Cezary Rojewski <cezary.rojewski@intel.com>:

A set of changes that aims to improve readability of cohesiveness of the
pcm code for the avs-driver.

Start off with a change that synchronizes DAI open/close - DAIs are
started up in ascending order yet their shutdown does not follow the
scheme - it is done in the ascending order too, rather than desceding
one. This patch is a dependency for the next one in line.

To align the HDAudio DAI startup/shutdown with the non-HDAudio
equivalents, relocate the code from component to DAI. The reason above
is a dependency stems from codec driver requirements - HDAudio code
found in sound/pci/hda/ expects substream->runtime->private_data to
point to a valid stream (HOST) pointer.

With the hard part done, the follow up changes update the existing code
to reduce it is complexity - removal of duplicates, renaming of
ambiguous functions and adding new fields to DAI-data object so that the
number of local variables and casts is reduced.

While the HDAudio codec driver expectations must be met - store valid
pointer to HDAudio LINK stream in substream->runtime->private_data - the
code is more readable and easier to maintain if dma_data stores pointers
to both HOST and LINK stream.

DAI BE operations can refer to the LINK stream with data->link_stream,
similarly to how DAI FE operations access the HOST stream with
data->host_stream.

The change is based on rafael/acpi-nhlt [1] immutable branch which
Rafael kindly prepared for me. Without the topmost changes to ACPI/NHLT,
the patches present will fail to compile.

Recent changes for the ACPI tree [2] refactored interfaces of the NHLT
table. Currently we have two implementations - one found in acpi
subsystem (unused) and one in sound/hda/. As NHLT is part of ACPI, idea
is to make the former useful and then switch all users of existing
sound/hda/intel-nhlt.c to this new interface over time and remove the
duplicate afterward.

The existing code can be both improved and simplified. To make this
change easier to manage, first add new implementation and then remove
deadcode in a separate patch.

Simplification achieved with:
- reduce the amount of resources requested by the driver i.e.: IPC and
  CLDMA request_irq() merged into one
- reduce the number of DSP ops from 2 to 1:
  irq_handler/thread() vs dsp_interrupt()
- drop ambiguity around CLDMA interrupt, let skl.c handle that
  explicitly as it is the only user

ASoC: Intel: avs: Set name of control as in topology
When creating controls attached to widgets, there are a lot of rules if
they get their name prefixed with widget name or not. Due to that
controls ended up with weirdly looking names like "ssp0_fe DSP Volume",
while topology set it to "DSP Volume".

Fix this by setting no_wname_in_kcontrol_name to true in avs topology
widgets which disables unwanted behaviour.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Rule invalid buffer and period sizes out
While HDAudio controller supports buffer packets up to 128 bytes low,
audio format shall be taken into consideration when calculating buffer
and period sizes to avoid undesired xruns.

As *_size in ALSA terms means frames (channels times bit-depth-bytes),
hw_rules can calculate minimal buffer and period sizes solely from
sample rate and the number of milliseconds commonly used on the
AudioDSP firmware side.

While stream_tag for CLDMA on SKL-based platforms is always 1, function
hda_cldma_setup() uses AZX_SD_CTL_STRM() macro which does:

HDMI codecs which are present and functional from audio perspective lack
i915 support on drm side what results in -ENODEV during the probing
sequence. There is no reason to perform recovery procedure e.g.: reset
the HDAudio controller if this is the case.

The avs-driver continues to be utilized on more recent Intel machines.
As TGL-based (cAVS 2.5) e.g.: RPL, inherit most of the functionality
from previous platforms:

SKL <- APL <- CNL <- ICL <- TGL

rather than putting everything into a single file, the platform-specific
bits are split into cnl/icl/tgl.c files instead. Makes the division clear
and code easier to maintain.

Layout of the patchset:

First are two changes combined together address the sound-clipping
problem, present when only one stream is running - specifically one
CAPTURE stream.

Follow up is naming-scheme adjustment for some of the existing functions
what improves code incohesiveness. As existing IPC/IRQ code operates
solely on cAVS 1.5 architecture, it needs no abstraction. The situation
changes when newer platforms come into the picture. Thus the next two
patches abstract the existing IPC/IRQ handlers so that majority of the
common code can be re-used.

The ICCMAX change stands out a bit - the AudioDSP firmware loading
procedure differs on ICL-based platforms (and onwards) and having a
separate commit makes the situation clear to the developers who are
going to support the solution from LTS perspective. For that reason
I decided not to merge it into the commit introducing the icl.c file.

For ICL+ platforms to avoid DMI/OPIO L1 entry during the base firmware
load procedure, HW recommends to set LTRP_GB to 95us and start an
additional CAPTURE stream in the background.

Once the load completes, original LTRP_GB value is restored and the
additional stream is released.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Fix sound clipping in single capture scenario
To avoid sound clipping when there just one, single CAPTURE stream
ongoing, disable L1SEN before it is started. Any PLAYBACK stream or
additional CAPTURE allows L1SEN to be re-enabled.

f8ccb133c9 ASoC: Intel: avs: Unhardcode HDAudio BE DAI drivers description
To not expose more than in fact is supported by the codec, update CPU
DAI initialization procedure to rely on codec capabilities instead of
hardcoding them. This includes subformat which is currently ignored.

As capabilities for HDMI streams are initialized on PCM open, leave it
as is for now.

In order to support Eve chromebooks add rt5514 configuration to board
lookup table. rt5514 is used for capture in DMIC configuration on SSP 0

2dddc514b6 ASoC: Intel: avs: Move snd_hdac_i915_init to before probe_work.
Now that we can use -EPROBE_DEFER, it's no longer required to spin off
the snd_hdac_i915_init into a workqueue. It's likely the whole workqueue
can be destroyed, but I don't have the means to test this.

Removing the workqueue would simplify init even further, but is left
as exercise for the reviewer.

32f4e921fe ALSA: hda: i915: Add an allow_modprobe argument to snd_hdac_i915_init
Xe is a new GPU driver that re-uses the display (and sound) code from
i915. It's no longer possible to load i915, as the GPU can be driven
by the xe driver instead.

The new behavior will return -EPROBE_DEFER, and wait for a compatible
driver to be loaded instead of modprobing i915.

Converting all drivers at the same time is a lot of work, instead we
will convert each user one by one.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Improve topology parsing of dynamic strings
Current mechanism replaces "%d" present in some routes and widget names
with SSP number. However there are also configurations which make use of
TDM number, in which case expected behavior would be to have string in
form of SSP:TDM - see implementation of avs_i2s_platform_register() in
sound/soc/intel/avs/pcm.c.

Implement custom function, which parses string and make use of it when
parsing topology. While at it make sure that we generate dynamic names
only if there is no multiple SSPs or TDMs defined.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Introduce helper functions for SSP and TDM handling
In quite a few places in code there are checks for number of SSPs
present on system, to reduce maintenance burden introduce helper
functions allowing to get SSP and TDM from machine board configuration.

Additionally in boards we use SSP and TDM to generate quite a few
strings, it could be done like:

	dl->name = devm_kasprintf(dev, GFP_KERNEL, "SSP%d:%d-Codec",
		ssp_port, tdm_slot);
else
	dl->name = devm_kasprintf(dev, GFP_KERNEL, "SSP%d-Codec",

but quite quickly code ends up with spaghetti of similar if elses.
Instead introduce macro which can be used to generate correct string,
allowing to minimize code to something like:

		ssp_port, tdm_slot));

5eb4ff884f ALSA: hda: Add code_loading parameter to stream setup
AudioDSP firmware is the one who kicks SDxFIFOS calculation when a
stream is decoupled mode. During firmware bring up procedure, there is
no firmware running and the code-loading stream is always a decoupled
one. So, there is none to trigger the calculation and we end up with
false-positive timeout (-110) messages.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Preallocate memory for module configuration
In order to instantiate modules on the firmware side, the driver sends
payload with module configuration. In some case size of this information
is not known before hand, so driver allocates temporary memory during
module creation and frees it after use. Optimize the flow a bit, by
preallocating maximum buffer. This removes the time spend on allocating
memory, as well as potential OOM errors during module initialization.

Handlers for modules, where configuration data fits on stack, are left
as is.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Use generic size defines
Instead of using PAGE_SIZE as base of definitions in headers, use
generic size defines. While x86 platforms use 4096 as page size, there
are platforms which use different page sizes. Two of changed defines are
for memory windows on DSP side, which have fixed size independent of
host side page size. Another one is for CLDMA buffer which also doesn't
need to change with page size.
