'devid' is an enum, thus cast of pointer on 64-bit compile test with
clang and W=1 causes:

One of the discussions in 2023 on LKML suggested warning is not suitable
for kernel. Nothing changed in this regard for more than a year, so
assume the warning will stay and we want to have warnings-free builds.

TAS2764 contains an ADC that reports the chip's die temperature.
The temperature in degrees Celsius is yielded by subtracting 93
from the raw value reported by the ADC.
Expose the codec die temperature to the hwmon interface.
The chip will initialise the temperature register to 2.6 *C
to avoid triggering over temp protection. As the ADC is powered
down during software shutdown, this value will persist until the
chip is fully powered up (e.g. when the PCM it's attached to is
opened). When the chip is powered back down, the last value sampled
will persist in the register.

Apple's SN012776 driver has some peculiar aspects to its behavior that
are suspected to work around issues in the codec part. Add a module
parameter for enabling individual quirks that should be imitated after
the Apple driver.
Setting some of these by default seems to be required. For example,
setting 0xf fixes an issue with transient overcurrent errors which
can crash the chip until the next system reboot. To be safe, let's
enable all of them by default.

TAS2764 has a number of undocumented registers between
page 0xf0 and 0xff. These are used to apply in-silicon
quirks and workarounds at runtime.
Raise the regmap max register to 0xffff to cover any
quirks registers.

IRQ handling was added in commit dae191fb95 ("ASoC: tas2764: Add IRQ
handling") however that same commit masks all interrupts coming from
the chip. Unmask the "main" interrupts so that we can see and
deal with a number of errors including clock, voltage, and current.

When the part is reset in component_probe, do not forget to reinit the
regcache, otherwise the cache can get out of sync with the part's
actual state. This fix is similar to commit 0a0342ede3
("ASoC: tas2770: Reinit regcache on reset") which concerned the
tas2770 driver.

SN012776 is a speaker amp chip found in Apple's 2021 laptops. It appears
similar and more-or-less compatible to TAS2764. Extend the TAS2764
driver with some SN012776 specifics and configure the chip assuming
it's in one of the Apple machines.

When we shut down the amp, we need to wait for the built-in ramp-down
before we can remove the TDM clocks. There is no documented status
regiter to poll, so the best we can do is a delay. Datasheet says 5.9ms
for ramp-down and 1.5ms between shutdown and next startup, so let's do
6ms after mute and 2ms after shutdown. That gives us a cumulative 8ms
for ramp-down and guaratees the required minimum shutdown time.

The ASoC convention is that clocks are removed after codec mute, and
power up/down is more about top level power management. For these chips,
the "mute" state still expects a TDM clock, and yanking the clock in
this state will trigger clock errors. So, do the full
shutdown<->mute<->active transition on the mute operation, so the amp is
in software shutdown by the time the clocks are removed.
This fixes TDM clock errors when streams are stopped.

These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id,
so don't explicitly initialize this member.
This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires
either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice
cleanup on its own.

call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then
03c835f498 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert
back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from

There's a special branch in the set_tdm_slot op for the case of nslots
being 1, but:
(1) That branch can never work (there's a check for tx_mask being
non-zero, later there's another check for it *being* zero; one or
the other always throws -EINVAL).
(2) The intention of the branch seems to be what the general other
branch reduces to in case of nslots being 1.
For those reasons remove the 'nslots being 1' special case.

Because the PWR_CTRL field is modeled as the power state of the DAC
widget, and at the same time it is used to implement mute/unmute, we
need some additional book-keeping to have the right end result no matter
the sequence of calls. Without this fix, one permanently mutes an
ongoing stream by toggling the associated speaker pin control.
(This mirrors commit 1e5907bcb3 ("ASoC: tas2770: Fix handling of
mute/unmute") which was a fix to the tas2770 driver.)

The driver is setting the PWR_CTRL field in both the set_bias_level
callback and on DAPM events of the DAC widget (and also in the
mute_stream method). Drop the set_bias_level callback altogether as the
power setting it does is in conflict with the other code paths.
(This mirrors commit c8a6ae3fe1c8 ("ASoC: tas2770: Drop conflicting
set_bias_level power setting") which was a fix to the tas2770 driver.)

The register default is 0x28 per the datasheet, and the amp gain field
is supposed to be shifted left by one. With the wrong default, the ALSA
controls lie about the power-up state. With the wrong shift, we get only
half the gain we expect.

DVC value 0xc8 is -100dB and 0xc9 is mute; this needs to map to
-100.5dB as far as the dB scale is concerned. Fix that and enable
the mute flag, so alsamixer correctly shows the control as
<0 dB .. -100 dB, mute>.

Fix setting of FSYNC polarity in case of LEFT_J and DSP_A/B formats.
Do NOT set the SCFG field as was previously done, because that is not
correct and is also in conflict with the "ASI1 Source" control which
sets the same SCFG field!
Also add support for explicit polarity inversion.

The i2c probe functions here don't use the id information provided in
their second argument, so the single-parameter i2c probe function
("probe_new") can be used instead.
This avoids scanning the identifier tables during probes.
