7ee2c3c0da thermal: Use dev_fwnode()
irq_domain_create_simple() takes fwnode as the first argument. It can be
extracted from the struct device using dev_fwnode() helper instead of
using of_node with of_fwnode_handle().

So use the dev_fwnode() helper.

348e104715 thermal/drivers/qcom-spmi-temp-alarm: Add support for GEN2 rev 2 PMIC peripherals
Add support for TEMP_ALARM GEN2 PMIC peripherals with digital major

to set the threshold temperature for over-temperature stages 1 (warning),

In preparation to support newer temp alarm subtypes, add the "ops",

703f13285a thermal/drivers/qcom-spmi-temp-alarm: Add temp alarm data struct based on HW subtype
Currently multiple if/else statements are used in functions to decipher
between SPMI temp alarm Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 2 Rev 1 functionality. Instead
refactor the driver so that SPMI temp alarm chips will have reference to a
spmi_temp_alarm_data struct which defines data and function callbacks
based on the HW subtype.

f8e157ff2d thermal/drivers/qcom-spmi-temp-alarm: Enable stage 2 shutdown when required
Certain TEMP_ALARM GEN2 PMIC peripherals need over-temperature stage 2
automatic PMIC partial shutdown. This will ensure that in the event of
reaching the hotter stage 3 over-temperature threshold, repeated faults
will be avoided during the automatic PMIC hardware full shutdown.
Modify the stage 2 shutdown control logic to ensure that stage 2
shutdown is enabled on all affected PMICs. Read the digital major

29dea335e3 thermal: Switch to irq_domain_create_linear()
irq_domain_add_linear() is going away as being obsolete now. Switch to
the preferred irq_domain_create_linear(). That differs in the first
parameter: It takes more generic struct fwnode_handle instead of struct
device_node. Therefore, of_fwnode_handle() is added around the
parameter.

Note some of the users can likely use dev->fwnode directly instead of
indirect of_fwnode_handle(dev->of_node). But dev->fwnode is not
guaranteed to be set for all, so this has to be investigated on case to
case basis (by people who can actually test with the HW).

Adding generic support for SoCs with tsens v1.0 IP with no RPM.
Due to lack of RPM, tsens has to be reset and enabled in the driver
init. SoCs can have support for more sensors than those which will
actually be enabled. As such, init will only enable those explicitly
added to the hw_ids array.

e3f90f167a thermal/drivers/qcom/tsens: Update conditions to strictly evaluate for IP v2+
TSENS v2.0+ leverage features not available to prior versions such as
updated interrupts init routine, masked interrupts, and watchdog.
Currently, the checks in place evaluate whether the IP version is greater
than v1 which invalidates when updates to v1 or v1 minor versions are
implemented. As such, update the conditional statements to strictly
evaluate whether the version is greater than or equal to v2 (inclusive).

ff0cf0ab90 thermal/drivers/tsens: Add TSENS enable and calibration support for V2
SoCs without RPM need to enable sensors and calibrate them from the kernel.
The IPQ5332 and IPQ5424 use the tsens v2.3.3 IP and do not have RPM.
Therefore, add a new calibration function for V2, as the tsens.c calib
function only supports V1. Also add new feature_config, ops and data for

Rafael J. Wysocki
0728c81087 thermal: trip: Pass trip pointer to .set_trip_temp() thermal zone callback
Out of several drivers implementing the .set_trip_temp() thermal zone
operation, three don't actually use the trip ID argument passed to it,
two call __thermal_zone_get_trip() to get a struct thermal_trip
corresponding to the given trip ID, and the other use the trip ID as an
index into their own data structures with the assumption that it will
always match the ordering of entries in the trips table passed to the
core during thermal zone registration, which is fragile and not really
guaranteed.

Even though the trip IDs used by the core are in fact their indices in the
trips table passed to it by the thermal zone creator, that is purely a
matter of convenience and should not be relied on for correctness.

For this reason, modify trip_point_temp_store() to pass a (const) trip
pointer to .set_trip_temp() and adjust the drivers implementing it
accordingly.

This helps to simplify the drivers invoking __thermal_zone_get_trip()
from their .set_trip_temp() callback functions because they will not
need to do it now and the other drivers can store their internal
trip indices in the priv field in struct thermal_trip and their
.set_trip_temp() callback functions can get those indices from there.

The intel_quark_dts thermal driver can instead use the trip type to
determine the requisite trip index.

2128ba4639 thermal: tsens: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.

To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().

Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

b6f739da00 thermal/drivers/qcom/tsens-v0_1: Add mdm9607 correction offsets
According to the msm-3.18 vendor kernel from Qualcomm, mdm9607 needs
"correction factors" to adjust for additional offsets observed after the
factory calibration values in the fuses [1, 2].

The fixed offsets should be applied unless there is a special
calibration mode value that indicates that no offsets are needed [3].

Note that the new calibration mode values are called differently in this
patch compared to the vendor kernel:
  - TSENS_TWO_POINT_CALIB_N_WA        -> ONE_PT_CALIB2_NO_OFFSET
  - TSENS_TWO_POINT_CALIB_N_OFFSET_WA -> TWO_PT_CALIB_NO_OFFSET
This is because close inspection of the calibration function [3] reveals
that TSENS_TWO_POINT_CALIB_N_WA is actually a "one point" calibration
because the if statements skip all "point2" related code for it.

Fill it properly similar to the 8939 code added recently.

4a16c190f7 thermal/hwmon: Use the right device for devm_thermal_add_hwmon_sysfs()
The devres variant of thermal_add_hwmon_sysfs() only takes the thermal
zone structure pointer as parameter.

Actually, it uses the tz->device to add it in the devres list.

It is preferable to use the device registering the thermal zone
instead of the thermal zone device itself. That prevents the driver
accessing the thermal zone structure internals and it is from my POV
more correct regarding how devm_ is used.

5f68d0785e thermal/core: Use the thermal zone 'devdata' accessor in thermal located drivers
The thermal zone device structure is exposed to the different drivers
and obviously they access the internals while that should be
restricted to the core thermal code.

In order to self-encapsulate the thermal core code, we need to prevent
the drivers accessing directly the thermal zone structure and provide
accessor functions to deal with.

Use the devdata accessor introduced in the previous patch.

9272d2d43b thermal: Remove core header inclusion from drivers
As the name states "thermal_core.h" is the header file for the core
components of the thermal framework.

Too many drivers are including it. Hopefully the recent cleanups
helped to self encapsulate the code a bit more and prevented the
drivers to need this header.

Remove this inclusion in every place where it is possible.

Some other drivers did a confusion with the core header and the one
exported in linux/thermal.h. They include the former instead of the
latter. The changes also fix this.

The tegra/soctherm driver still remains as it uses an internal
function which need to be replaced.

The Intel HFI driver uses the netlink internal framework core and
should be changed to prevent to deal with the internals.

No functional changes intended.

df715f26cb thermal/drivers/qcom: Remove duplicate set next trip point interrupt code
The tsens driver reprogram the next trip points in the irq
handler. This function then call thermal_zone_device_update().

However, thermal_zone_device_update() calls thermal_zone_set_trips()
and from there it calls the backend 'set_trips' ops. This one in turn
reprogram the next trip points (low/high).

Consequently, the code setting the next trip points interrupt in the
interrupt handle is not needed and could be removed.
