355e30ca1a s390/mm: remove redundant check against VMEM_MAX_PHYS
The value of ident_map_size could never exceed the value of
vmemmap as secured by setup_kernel_memory_layout() function:

	/* make sure identity map doesn't overlay with vmemmap */
	ident_map_size = min(ident_map_size, vmemmap_start);

Since VMEM_MAX_PHYS macro is set to vmemmap and a newly added
range is checked against ident_map_size in add_memory_merged()
function anyway, the check against VMEM_MAX_PHYS is redundant.

8cf57d7217 s390: add support for user-defined certificates
Enable receiving the user-defined certificates from the s390x
hypervisor via new diagnose 0x320 calls, and make them available to the
Linux root user as 'cert_store_key' type keys in a so-called
'cert_store' keyring.

New user-space interfaces:

  /sys/firmware/cert_store/refresh

    Writing to this attribute re-fetches certificates via DIAG 0x320

  /sys/firmware/cert_store/cs_status

    Reading from this attribute returns either of:

	  "uninitialized"
	    If no certificate has been retrieved yet
	  "ok"
	    If certificates have been successfully retrieved
	  "failed (<number>)"
	    If certificate retrieval failed with reason code <number>

New debug trace areas:

  /sys/kernel/debug/s390dbf/cert_store_msg

  /sys/kernel/debug/s390dbf/cert_store_hexdump

Usage example:

To initiate request for certificates available to the system as root:

  $ echo 1 > /sys/firmware/cert_store/refresh

Upon success the '/sys/firmware/cert_store/cs_status' contains
the value 'ok'.

  $ cat /sys/firmware/cert_store/cs_status
  ok

Get the ID of the keyring 'cert_store':

  $ keyctl search @us keyring cert_store
OR
  $ keyctl link @us @s; keyctl request keyring cert_store

Obtain list of IDs of certificates:

  $ keyctl rlist <cert_store keyring ID>

Display certificate content as hex-dump:

  $ keyctl read <certificate ID>

Read certificate contents as binary data:

  $ keyctl pipe <certificate ID> >cert_data

Display certificate description:

  $ keyctl describe <certificate ID>

The certificate description has the following format:

  <64 bytes certificate name in EBCDIC> ':'
  <certificate index as obtained from hypervisor> ':'
  <certificate store token obtained from hypervisor>

The certificate description in /proc/keys has certificate name
represented in ASCII.

Users can read but cannot update the content of the certificate.

54372cf043 Revert "s390/mm: get rid of VMEM_MAX_PHYS macro"
This reverts commit 456be42aa7.

The assumption VMEM_MAX_PHYS should match ident_map_size
is wrong. At least discontiguous saved segments (DCSS)
could be loaded at addresses beyond ident_map_size and
dcssblk device driver might fail as result.

b378a98261 s390: include linux/io.h instead of asm/io.h
Include linux/io.h instead of asm/io.h everywhere. linux/io.h includes
asm/io.h, so this shouldn't cause any problems. Instead this might help for
some randconfig build errors which were reported due to some undefined io
related functions.

Also move the changed include so it stays grouped together with other
includes from the same directory.

For ctcm_mpc.c also remove not needed comments (actually questions).

456be42aa7 s390/mm: get rid of VMEM_MAX_PHYS macro
VMEM_MAX_PHYS is supposed to be the highest physical
address that can be added to the identity mapping.
It should match ident_map_size, which has the same
meaning. However, unlike ident_map_size it is not
adjusted against various limiting factors (see the
comment to setup_ident_map_size() function). That
renders all checks against VMEM_MAX_PHYS invalid.

Further, VMEM_MAX_PHYS is currently set to vmemmap,
which is an address in virtual memory space. However,
it gets compared against physical addresses in various
locations. That works, because both address spaces
are the same on s390, but otherwise it is wrong.

Instead of fixing VMEM_MAX_PHYS misuse and semantics
just remove it.

2d8a26acaf s390/uvdevice: Add 'Lock Secret Store' UVC
Userspace can call the Lock Secret Store Ultravisor Call
using IOCTLs on the uvdevice. The Lock Secret Store UV call
disables all additions of secrets for the future.

The uvdevice is merely transporting the request from userspace to the
Ultravisor.

Userspace can call the List Secrets Ultravisor Call
using IOCTLs on the uvdevice. The List Secrets UV call lists the
identifier of the secrets in the UV secret store.

The uvdevice is merely transporting the request from userspace to
Ultravisor. It's neither checking nor manipulating the request or
response data.

Userspace can call the Add Secret Ultravisor Call using IOCTLs on the

cryptographically verified request to the Ultravisor. The request
inserts a protected guest's secret into the Ultravisor for later use.

9f70bc890a s390/zcore: conditionally clear memory on reipl
Currently zcore_reipl_write() always use DIAG308_LOAD_CLEAR to ipl the
system (used by ngdump and zfcpdump to ipl the original kernel after
dumping).
Instead of 'always clear' check OS_INFO_FLAG_REIPL_CLEAR flag and use
either LOAD_CLEAR or LOAD_NORMAL diag308 subcode accordingly.
For that read os_info and check for the valid os_info flags entry
in zcore_reipl_init(). Do not return error on failure (e.g. os_info
checksum error) in order to continue dump processing, considering
that os_info could be corrupted on the panicked system.

The module pointer in class_create() never actually did anything, and it

639886b71d s390/early: fix sclp_early_sccb variable lifetime
Commit ada1da31ce ("s390/sclp: sort out physical vs
virtual pointers usage") fixed the notion of virtual
address for sclp_early_sccb pointer. However, it did
not take into account that kasan_early_init() can also
output messages and sclp_early_sccb should be adjusted
by the time kasan_early_init() is called.

Currently it is not a problem, since virtual and physical
addresses on s390 are the same. Nevertheless, should they
ever differ, this would cause an invalid pointer access.

ba5c2e2ae4 s390/con3270: add special output handling when oops_in_progress is set
Normally a user can scroll back with PF7/PF8 if printed messages are
outside of the visible screen area. This doesn't work when the kernel
crashes, because the scrollback handling is done by the kernel, which
is no longer alive after the kernel crash. Add code to always print
all dirty lines in the screen buffer, so the user can scroll back with
the terminal scrollback keys (Page Up/Down).

fs3270 uses EWRITEA to clear the screen when a user opens /dev/3270/tub.
However it misses the attribute byte after the EWRITEA, so (at least)

9c138af9b7 s390/tty3270: convert lines during output
The length of the screen line is variable with the 3270 protocol.
For each attribute (foreground, background color, highlighting etc)
we need 3 bytes: the set attribute order, the attribute number, and
the value of the attribute. This means that depending on screen content,
we might end up 3*3 bytes addtional data for a single character.

Allocating the maximum possible amount of memory is quite a lot, and
we cannot easily extend the lines by allocating memory because we
might get called from atomic context. Failing to extend the memory
would also be bad as that would mean that we could miss kernel messages
in oom conditions. Therefore move the conversion to a 3270 datastream
to tty3270_update(), and use only single line buffer.

from some x/y coordinates. Move that calculation inside of the
function, so user can pass the x/y values directly. Note that

3270 terminals support 8 background colors. Add the code to utilize
them. Unfortunately the line erase code need to be adjusted: Without
background colors, it was sufficient to just set the line length to

fbaee7464f s390/tty3270: add support for diag 8c
The current code uses diag210 to infer the 3270 geometry from the
model number when running on z/VM. This doesn't work well as almost
all 3270 software clients report as 3279-2 with a custom resolution.
tty3270 assumes it has a 80x24 terminal connected because of the -2
suffix. Use diag 8c to fetch the realy geometry from z/VM.

Note that this doesn't allow dynamic resizing, i.e. reconnecting to
a z/VM session with a different geometry.

c17fe081ac s390/3270: unify con3270 + tty3270
There were two flavours of 3270 drivers: con3270, which provides a
console driver, and tty3270 providing a tty driver. A user could switch
with PF3 between the two views. While this sounds nice, it's a bit
annoying: If the user enters a command which triggers a kernel message,
he always has to switch back and forth to see the message. Unify both
views to have kernel messages and tty in one screen, like it is on almost
all other platforms. This also has the nice side effect of removing a lot
of duplicate code.

Here is the set of driver core and kernfs changes for 6.2-rc1.
 
 The "big" change in here is the addition of a new macro,
 container_of_const() that will preserve the "const-ness" of a pointer
 passed into it.
 
 The "problem" of the current container_of() macro is that if you pass in
 a "const *", out of it can comes a non-const pointer unless you
 specifically ask for it.  For many usages, we want to preserve the
 "const" attribute by using the same call.  For a specific example, this
 series changes the kobj_to_dev() macro to use it, allowing it to be used
 no matter what the const value is.  This prevents every subsystem from
 having to declare 2 different individual macros (i.e.
 kobj_const_to_dev() and kobj_to_dev()) and having the compiler enforce
 the const value at build time, which having 2 macros would not do
 either.
 
 The driver for all of this have been discussions with the Rust kernel
 developers as to how to properly mark driver core, and kobject, objects
 as being "non-mutable".  The changes to the kobject and driver core in
 this pull request are the result of that, as there are lots of paths
 where kobjects and device pointers are not modified at all, so marking
 them as "const" allows the compiler to enforce this.
 
 So, a nice side affect of the Rust development effort has been already
 to clean up the driver core code to be more obvious about object rules.
 
 All of this has been bike-shedded in quite a lot of detail on lkml with
 different names and implementations resulting in the tiny version we
 have in here, much better than my original proposal.  Lots of subsystem
 maintainers have acked the changes as well.

Introduce sclp_emergency_printk() which can be used to emit a message
in emergency cases. sclp_emergency_printk() is only supposed to be
used in cases where it can be assumed that regular console device
drivers may not work anymore.
For example this may be the case for unrecoverable machine checks.

This adds support to IPL from ECKD DASDs to linux.
It introduces a few sysfs files in /sys/firmware/reipl/eckd:

bootprog: the boot program selector
clear:    whether to issue a diag308 LOAD_NORMAL or LOAD_CLEAR
device:   the device to ipl from
br_chr:   Cylinder/Head/Record number to read the bootrecord from.
          Might be '0' or 'auto' if it should be read from the
	  volume label.
scpdata:  data to be passed to the ipl'd program.

The new ipl type is called 'eckd'.

de4eda9de2 use less confusing names for iov_iter direction initializers
READ/WRITE proved to be actively confusing - the meanings are
"data destination, as used with read(2)" and "data source, as
used with write(2)", but people keep interpreting those as
"we read data from it" and "we write data to it", i.e. exactly
the wrong way.

Call them ITER_DEST and ITER_SOURCE - at least that is harder
to misinterpret...

1f3307cf3a s390/con3215: Drop console data printout when buffer full
Using z/VM the 3270 terminal emulator also emulates an IBM 3215 console
which outputs line by line. When the screen is full, the console enters
the MORE... state and waits for the operator to confirm the data
on the screen by pressing a clear key. If this does not happen in the
default time frame (currently 50 seconds) the console enters the HOLDING
state.
It then waits another time frame (currently 10 seconds) before the output
continues on the next screen. When the operator presses the clear key
during these wait times, the output continues immediately.

This may lead to a very long boot time when the console
has to print many messages, also the system may hang because of the
console's limited buffer space and the system waits for the console
output to drain and finally to finish. This problem can only occur
when a terminal emulator is actually connected to the 3215 console
driver. If not z/VM simply drops console output.

Remedy this rare situation and add a kernel boot command line parameter
con3215_drop. It can be set to 0 (do not drop) or 1 (do drop) which is
the default. This instructs the kernel drop console data when the
console buffer is full. This speeds up the boot time considerable and
also does not hang the system anymore.

Add a sysfs attribute file for console IBM 3215 named con_drop.
This allows for changing the behavior after the boot, for example when
during interactive debugging a panic/crash is expected.

Here is a test of the new behavior using the following test program:

Details:
Enable function raw3215_write() to handle tab expansion and newlines
and feed it with input not larger than the console buffer of 65536
bytes. Function raw3125_putchar() just forwards its character for
output to raw3215_write().

This moves tab to blank conversion to one function raw3215_write()
which also does call raw3215_make_room() to wait for enough free
buffer space.

Function handle_write() loops over all its input and segments input
into chunks of console buffer size (should the input be larger).

Rework tab expansion handling logic to avoid code duplication.

bf18140d30 s390/vmur: generate uevent on unsolicited device end
When a traditional channel-attached device transitions from not-ready to
ready state, an unsolicited DEVICE END I/O interrupt is raised. This
happens for example when a new file arrives in the z/VM virtual reader
device.

Change the Linux kernel to generate a change uevent when such an
interrupt occurs for any online unit record devices supported by the
vmur driver. This can be useful to automatically trigger processing of
files as they arrive in the reader device.

A sample udev rule for running a program when this event occurs looks as
follows:

  ENV{DRIVER}=="vmur", ACTION=="change", ENV{EVENT}=="unsol_de", \

The rule can be tested using the following steps:

1. Set reader device online (assuming default reader device number 000c)

f3e59ff348 s390/vmur: remove unnecessary BUG statement
An existing BUG statement in vmur's interrupt handler triggers if:

  1. An online vmur device is removed (e.g. due to driver unload, manual
     unbind or channel-report words indicating hypervisor-side device
     removal)
  2. Device deactivation fails due to firmware/hypervisor error, leaving
     subchannel enabled for interrupts + drvdata=NULL
  3. Interrupt occurs

This situation is highly unlikely and not a clear indication of a
general system error that would warrant stopping the full Linux system.
Also it can be prevented completely by clearing the interrupt handler
when unsetting a vmur device's drvdata.

Replace the BUG statement in vmur's interrupt handler by clearing the
interrupt handler callback during device removal. Also move the initial
setting of the interrupt handler callback under lock for consistency
reasons.

2f0e8aae26 s390/mm: rework memcpy_real() to avoid DAT-off mode
Function memcpy_real() is an univeral data mover that does not
require DAT mode to be able reading from a physical address.
Its advantage is an ability to read from any address, even
those for which no kernel virtual mapping exists.

Although memcpy_real() is interrupt-safe, there are no handlers
that make use of this function. The compiler instrumentation
have to be disabled and separate no-DAT stack used to allow
execution of the function once DAT mode is disabled.

Rework memcpy_real() to overcome these shortcomings. As result,
data copying (which is primarily reading out a crashed system
memory by a user process) is executed on a regular stack with
enabled interrupts. Also, use of memcpy_real_buf swap buffer
becomes unnecessary and the swapping is eliminated.

The above is achieved by using a fixed virtual address range
that spans a single page and remaps that page repeatedly when
memcpy_real() is called for a particular physical address.

semantics of called functions to match the iterator model -
instead of an error code the exact number of bytes copied is

4689752c79 drivers/s390/char: Add Ultravisor io device
This patch adds a new miscdevice to expose some Ultravisor functions
to userspace. Userspace can send IOCTLs to the uvdevice that will then
emit a corresponding Ultravisor Call and hands the result over to
userspace. The uvdevice is available if the Ultravisor Call facility is
present.
Userspace can call the Retrieve Attestation Measurement
Ultravisor Call using IOCTLs on the uvdevice.

The uvdevice will do some sanity checks first.
Then, copy the request data to kernel space, build the UVCB,
perform the UV call, and copy the result back to userspace.

4ae46db99c s390/consoles: improve panic notifiers reliability
Currently many console drivers for s390 rely on panic/reboot notifiers
to invoke callbacks on these events. The panic() function disables local
IRQs, secondary CPUs and preemption, so callbacks invoked on panic are
effectively running in atomic context.

Happens that most of these console callbacks from s390 doesn't take the
proper care with regards to atomic context, like taking spinlocks that
might be taken in other function/CPU and hence will cause a lockup
situation.

The goal for this patch is to improve the notifiers reliability, acting
on 4 console drivers, as detailed below:

(1) con3215: changed a regular spinlock to the trylock alternative.

(2) con3270: also changed a regular spinlock to its trylock counterpart,
but here we also have another problem: raw3270_activate_view() takes a
different spinlock. So, we worked a helper to validate if this other lock
is safe to acquire, and if so, raw3270_activate_view() should be safe.

Notice though that there is a functional change here: it's now possible
to continue the notifier code [reaching con3270_wait_write() and
con3270_rebuild_update()] without executing raw3270_activate_view().

(3) sclp: a global lock is used heavily in the functions called from
the notifier, so we added a check here - if the lock is taken already,
we just bail-out, preventing the lockup.

(4) sclp_vt220: same as (3), a lock validation was added to prevent the
potential lockup problem.

Besides (1)-(4), we also removed useless void functions, adding the
code called from the notifier inside its own body, and changed the
priority of such notifiers to execute late, since they are "heavyweight"
for the panic environment, so we aim to reduce risks here.
Changed return values to NOTIFY_DONE as well, the standard one.

- del_timer() contains timer_pending() condition
- mod_timer(timer, expires) is equivalent to:

condition !timer_pending(&private->timer) is redundant.

which is a lot less generic than the current linkage.h.

303fd988ed s390/maccess: fix semantics of memcpy_real() and its callers
There is a confusion with regard to the source address of
memcpy_real() and calling functions. While the declared
type for a source assumes a virtual address, in fact it
always called with physical address of the source.

This confusion led to bugs in copy_oldmem_kernel() and
copy_oldmem_user() functions, where __pa() macro applied
mistakenly to physical addresses. It does not lead to a
real issue, since virtual and physical addresses are
currently the same.

Fix both the bugs and memcpy_real() prototype by making
type of source address consistent to the function name
and the way it actually used.

1350f36d38 s390/sclp_sd: use default_groups in kobj_type
There are currently 2 ways to create a set of sysfs files for a
kobj_type, through the default_attrs field, and the default_groups
field.  Move the sclp_sd sysfs code to use default_groups field which
has been the preferred way since commit aa30f47cf6 ("kobject: Add
support for default attribute groups to kobj_type") so that we can
soon get rid of the obsolete default_attrs field.

ada1da31ce s390/sclp: sort out physical vs virtual pointers usage
Provide physical addresses whenever the hardware interface
expects it or a 32-bit value used for tracking.

Variable sclp_early_sccb gets initialized in the decompressor
and points to an address in physcal memory. Yet, it is used
as virtual memory pointer and therefore should be converted.

Note, the other two __bootdata variables sclp_info_sccb and
sclp_info_sccb_valid contain plain data, but no pointers and
do need any special care.

70aa5d3982 s390/sclp: add tracing of SCLP interactions
Add tracing of interactions between the SCLP base driver, firmware and
other drivers to support problem determination in case of SCLP-related
issues.

For that purpose this patch introduces two new s390dbf debug areas:

  - sclp: An abbreviated log of all common interactions
  - sclp_err: A full log of failed or abnormal interactions

Tracing of full SCCB contents can be enabled for the sclp area by
setting its debug level to maximum (6).

Overview of added trace events:

  * Firmware interaction:
    - SRV1: Service call about to be issued
    - SRV2: Service call was issued
    - INT:  Interrupt received

  * Driver interaction:
    - RQAD: Request was added
    - RQOK: Request success
    - RQAB: Request aborted
    - RQTM: Request timed out
    - REG:  Event listener registered
    - UREG: Event listener unregistered
    - EVNT: Event callback
    - STCG: State-change callback

  * Abnormal events:
    - TMO:  A timeout occurred
    - UNEX: Unexpected SCCB completion

  * Other (not traced at default level):
    - SYN1: Synchronous wait start
    - SYN2: Synchronous wait end

Since the SCLP interface is used by console drivers this patch also
moves s390dbf printks outside the critical section protected by debug
area locks to prevent a potential deadlock that would otherwise be
introduced between console_owner --> sclp_lock --> sclp_debug.lock.

7c0eaa78b9 s390/sclp: reserve memory occupied by sclp early buffer
The memory block occupied by the SCLP early buffer that is allocated
by the decompressor and then handed over to the decompressed kernel,
must be reserved to prevent it from being reused for other purposes.
This is necessary because the SCLP early buffer is still in use
during kernel initialization.

52b6defae7 s390/sclp: replace deprecated CPU-hotplug functions
The functions get_online_cpus() and put_online_cpus() have been
deprecated during the CPU hotplug rework. They map directly to
cpus_read_lock() and cpus_read_unlock().

Replace deprecated CPU-hotplug functions with the official version.
The behavior remains unchanged.

9f90a4ddef tty: drop put_tty_driver
put_tty_driver() is an alias for tty_driver_kref_put(). There is no need
for two exported identical functions, therefore switch all users of
old put_tty_driver() to new tty_driver_kref_put() and remove the former
for good.

39b7b42be4 tty: stop using alloc_tty_driver
alloc_tty_driver was deprecated by tty_alloc_driver in commit
7f0bc6a68e (TTY: pass flags to alloc_tty_driver) in 2012.

I never got into eliminating alloc_tty_driver until now. So we still
have two functions for allocating drivers which might be confusing. So
get rid of alloc_tty_driver uses to eliminate it for good in the next
patch.

Note we need to switch return value checking as tty_alloc_driver uses
ERR_PTR. And flags are now a parameter of tty_alloc_driver.

e9e7870f90 s390/dump: introduce boot data 'oldmem_data'
The new boot data struct shall replace global variables OLDMEM_BASE and
OLDMEM_SIZE. It is initialized in the decompressor and passed
to the decompressed kernel. In comparison to the old solution, this one
doesn't access data at fixed physical addresses which will become important
when the decompressor becomes relocatable.

f1d3c53237 s390/boot: move sclp early buffer from fixed address in asm to C
To make the decompressor relocatable, the early SCLP buffer with a fixed
address must be replaced with a relocatable C buffer of the according size
and alignment as required by SCLP.

Introduce a new function sclp_early_set_buffer() into the SCLP driver
which enables the decompressor to change the SCLP early buffer at any time.
This will be useful when the decompressor becomes fully relocatable and
might need to change the SCLP early buffer to one with an address < 2G
as required by SCLP because it was loaded at an address >= 2G.
