2453753f39 power: supply: bq24190: Remove redundant pm_runtime_mark_last_busy() calls
pm_runtime_put_autosuspend(), pm_runtime_put_sync_autosuspend(),
pm_runtime_autosuspend() and pm_request_autosuspend() now include a call
to pm_runtime_mark_last_busy(). Remove the now-reduntant explicit call to
pm_runtime_mark_last_busy().

6aa1c3a72b power: supply: bq24190: Free battery_info
Call power_supply_put_battery_info() when bq24190_get_config() is done with
it. The "struct power_supply_battery_info *info" pointer runs out of scope
at the end of bq24190_get_config() so there is no need to keep it around
after this.

Note technically this is not a memleak fix, since all battery_info data is
devm_alloc()-ed so it would still be free-ed when the driver is unbound.
This just frees it as soon as the driver is done with it.

afe5301bfb power: bq24190: Add BQ24193 support
The BQ24193 is most similar to the BQ24192. This is used in many Nvidia
Tegra devices such as the SHIELD Portable. This variant works as-is with
the existing BQ24192 code, but cannot be probed with a simple fallback
compatible to ti,bq24192. So add it same as how BQ24196 is handled.

b3ded6072c power: supply: bq24190: Fix BQ24296 Vbus regulator support
There are 2 issues with bq24296_set_otg_vbus():

1. When writing the OTG_CONFIG bit it uses POC_CHG_CONFIG_SHIFT which
   should be POC_OTG_CONFIG_SHIFT.

2. When turning the regulator off it never turns charging back on. Note
   this must be done through bq24190_charger_set_charge_type(), to ensure
   that the charge_type property value of none/trickle/fast is honored.

Resolve both issues to fix BQ24296 Vbus regulator support not working.

3c7c176b10 power: supply: bq24190: Add BQ24297 support
The BQ24297 is identical to the BQ24296 except that it uses USB D+ / D-
data-lines for charger-type (max. input-current) detection instead of
a PSEL input pin.

This is the same difference as between the already supported BQ24190
(D+ / D-) and the BQ24192 (PSEL).

Note just like with the BQ24190 vs BQ24192 there is no difference how
the charger-IC works at the register-level. The only difference is in
the external hardware interface.

The bq24190 power_supply class device has a writeable "charge_type"
property, add support for the new "charge_types" property. Reading this
returns a list of supported charge-types with the currently active type
surrounded by square brackets, allowing userspace to find out which
enum power_supply_charge_type values are supported.

This has been tested on a GPD win gaming-handheld.

Clang versions prior to 17.x show a similar error:

  drivers/power/supply/bq24190_charger.c:1978:16: error: initializer element is not a compile-time constant
                  .vbus_desc = bq24190_vbus_desc,

Newer compilers have decided to accept these structures as compile time
constants as an extension. To resolve this issue for all supported
compilers, change the vbus_desc member in 'struct bq24190_chip_info' to
a pointer, as it is only ever passed by reference anyways, and adjust
the assignments accordingly.

b0009b8bed power: supply: bq24190_charger: replace deprecated strncpy with strscpy
strncpy() is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings
[1] and as such we should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string
interfaces.

We expect bdi->model_name to be NUL-terminated based on its usage with
sysfs_emit and format strings:

val->strval is assigned to bdi->model_name in
bq24190_charger_get_property():
1186 | val->strval = bdi->model_name;

... then in power_supply_sysfs.c we use value.strval with a format string:
311  | ret = sysfs_emit(buf, "%s\n", value.strval);

we assigned value.strval via:
285  | ret = power_supply_get_property(psy, psp, &value);
... which invokes psy->desc->get_property():
1210 | return psy->desc->get_property(psy, psp, val);

with bq24190_charger_get_property():
1320 | static const struct power_supply_desc bq24190_charger_desc = {
...
1325 | 	.get_property		= bq24190_charger_get_property,

Moreover, no NUL-padding is required as bdi is zero-allocated in
bq24190_charger.c:
1798 | bdi = devm_kzalloc(dev, sizeof(*bdi), GFP_KERNEL);

Considering the above, a suitable replacement is `strscpy` [2] due to
the fact that it guarantees NUL-termination on the destination buffer
without unnecessarily NUL-padding.

77c2a3097d power: supply: bq24190: Call power_supply_changed() after updating input current
The bq24192 model relies on external charger-type detection and once
that is done the bq24190_charger code will update the input current.

In this case, when the initial power_supply_changed() call is made
from the interrupt handler, the input settings are 5V/0.5A which
on many devices is not enough power to charge (while the device is on).

On many devices the fuel-gauge relies in its external_power_changed
callback to timely signal userspace about charging <-> discharging
status changes. Add a power_supply_changed() call after updating
the input current. This allows the fuel-gauge driver to timely recheck
if the battery is charging after the new input current has been applied
and then it can immediately notify userspace about this.

ed5c2f5fd1 i2c: Make remove callback return void
The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)

So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

d69fc86aca power: supply: bq24190_charger: Delay applying charge_type changes when OTG 5V Vbus boost is on
Recently userspace has started switching power_supply class devices with
a charge_type psy-property between fast and trickle charge mode, see:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/hadess/power-profiles-daemon/-/issues/85

Before this patch bq24190_charger_set_charge_type() would unconditionally
write charging or none to the BQ24190_REG_POC_CHG_CONFIG bits, replacing
the otg setting of those bits when the OTG 5V Vbus boost converter was on,
turning the 5V Vbus off, removing the power from any attached peripherals.

This fixes this by keeping track of otg_vbus_enabled and the requested
charger_type settings and when otg_vbus_enabled is true, delay applying
the charger_type until the 5V boost converter is turned off.

2220af8ca6 power: supply: core: Refactor power_supply_set_input_current_limit_from_supplier()
Some (USB) charger ICs have variants with USB D+ and D- pins to do their
own builtin charger-type detection, like e.g. the bq24190 and bq25890 and
also variants which lack this functionality, e.g. the bq24192 and bq25892.

In case the charger-type; and thus the input-current-limit detection is
done outside the charger IC then we need some way to communicate this to
the charger IC. In the past extcon was used for this, but if the external
detection does e.g. full USB PD negotiation then the extcon cable-types do
not convey enough information.

For these setups it was decided to model the external charging "brick"
and the parameters negotiated with it as a power_supply class-device
itself; and power_supply_set_input_current_limit_from_supplier() was
introduced to allow drivers to get the input-current-limit this way.

But in some cases psy drivers may want to know other properties, e.g. the
bq25892 can do "quick-charge" negotiation by pulsing its current draw,
but this should only be done if the usb_type psy-property of its supplier
is set to DCP (and device-properties indicate the board allows higher
voltages).

Instead of adding extra helper functions for each property which
a psy-driver wants to query from its supplier, refactor
power_supply_set_input_current_limit_from_supplier() into a
more generic power_supply_get_property_from_supplier() function.

25fd330370 power: supply_core: Pass pointer to battery info
The function to retrieve battery info (from the device tree) assumes
we have a static info struct that gets populated by calling into
power_supply_get_battery_info().

This is awkward since I want to support tables of static battery
info by just assigning a pointer to all info based on e.g. a
compatible value in the device tree.

We also have a mixture of static and dynamically allocated
variables here.

Bite the bullet and let power_supply_get_battery_info() allocate
also the memory used for the very top level
struct power_supply_battery_info container. Pass pointers
around and lifecycle this with the psy device just like the
stuff we allocate inside it.

Change all current users over.

As part of the change, initializers need to be added to some
previously uninitialized fields in struct
power_supply_battery_info.

348a3c079b power: supply: bq24190_charger: fix race-condition in sysfs registration
This registers custom sysfs properties using the native functionality
of the power-supply framework, which cleans up the code a bit and
fixes a race-condition. Before this patch the sysfs attributes were
not properly registered to udev.

18f8e6f695 power: supply: bq24190_charger: Get input_current_limit from our supplier
On some devices the USB Type-C port power (USB PD 2.0) negotiation is
done by a separate port-controller IC, while the current limit is
controlled through another (charger) IC.

It has been decided to model this by modelling the external Type-C
power brick (adapter/charger) as a power-supply class device which
supplies the charger-IC, with its voltage-now and current-max representing
the negotiated voltage and max current draw.

This commit adds support for this to the bq24190_charger driver by adding
an external_power_changed callback and calling
power_supply_set_input_current_limit_from_supplier from this callback.
This callback will only get called if the bq24190 has a parent-supply.

Note this replaces the functionality to get the current-limit from an
extcon device, which will be removed in a follow-up commit.
