498365e52b wifi: mwifiex: Fix memcpy() field-spanning write warning in mwifiex_cmd_802_11_scan_ext()
Replace one-element array with a flexible-array member in

67a72043aa wifi: mwifiex: remove unnecessary checks for valid priv
The pointers in adapter->priv[] are allocated in mwifiex_register().
With an allocation failed the function will return an error and
driver initialization is aborted. This makes all checks for valid
priv pointers unnecessary throughout the driver. In many places
the pointers are assumed to be valid without checks, this patch
removes the remaining checks.

14ddc470ba wifi: mwifiex: Refactor 1-element array into flexible array in struct mwifiex_ie_types_chan_list_param_set
struct mwifiex_ie_types_chan_list_param_set::chan_scan_param is treated
as a flexible array, so convert it into one so that it doesn't trip
the array bounds sanitizer[1]. Only a few places were using sizeof()
on the whole struct, so adjust those to follow the calculation pattern
to avoid including the trailing single element.

Examining binary output differences doesn't appear to show any literal
size values changing, though it is obfuscated a bit by the compiler
adjusting register usage and stack spill slots, etc.

d2ab7f00f4 mwifiex: Do not use GFP_KERNEL in atomic context

df612421fe mwifiex: fix 802.11n/WPA detection
Commit 63d7ef3610 ("mwifiex: Don't abort on small, spec-compliant
vendor IEs") adjusted the ieee_types_vendor_header struct, which
inadvertently messed up the offsets used in
mwifiex_is_wpa_oui_present(). Add that offset back in, mirroring
mwifiex_is_rsn_oui_present().

As it stands, commit 63d7ef3610 breaks compatibility with WPA (not
WPA2) 802.11n networks, since we hit the "info: Disable 11n if AES is
not supported by AP" case in mwifiex_is_network_compatible().

8a7f9fd8a3 mwifiex: don't disable hardirqs; just softirqs
main_proc_lock and int_lock (in mwifiex_adapter) are the only spinlocks
used in hardirq contexts. The rest are only in task or softirq contexts.

Convert every other lock from *_irq{save,restore}() variants to _bh()
variants.

This is a mechanical transformation of all spinlock usage in mwifiex
using the following:

Step 1:
I ran this nasty sed script:

    sed -i -E '/spin_lock_irqsave|spin_unlock_irqrestore/ {
      /main_proc_lock|int_lock/! {
        s:(spin_(un|)lock)_irq(save|restore):\1_bh: ;
        # Join broken lines.
        :a /;$/! {
          N;
          s/\s*\n\s*//;
          ba
        }
        /,.*\);$/ s:,.*\):\):
      }
    }' drivers/net/wireless/marvell/mwifiex/*

Step 2:
Manually delete the flags / ra_list_flags args from:

  mwifiex_send_single_packet()
  mwifiex_11n_aggregate_pkt()
  mwifiex_send_processed_packet()

which are now unused.

Step 3:
Apply this semantic patch (coccinelle) to remove the unused 'flags'
variables:

// <smpl>
@@
type T;
identifier i;
@@

(
extern T i;
|
- T i;
  ... when != i
)
// </smpl>

(Usage is something like this:

  make coccicheck COCCI=./patch.cocci MODE=patch M=drivers/net/wireless/marvell/mwifiex/

although this skips *.h files for some reasons, so I had to massage
stuff.)

Testing: I've played with a variety of stress tests, including download
stress tests on the same APs which caught regressions with commit
5188d5453b ("mwifiex: restructure rx_reorder_tbl_lock usage"). I've
primarily tested on Marvell 8997 / PCIe, although I've given 8897 / SDIO
a quick spin as well.

63d7ef3610 mwifiex: Don't abort on small, spec-compliant vendor IEs
Per the 802.11 specification, vendor IEs are (at minimum) only required
to contain an OUI. A type field is also included in ieee80211.h (struct
ieee80211_vendor_ie) but doesn't appear in the specification. The
remaining fields (subtype, version) are a convention used in WMM
headers.

Thus, we should not reject vendor-specific IEs that have only the
minimum length (3 bytes) -- we should skip over them (since we only want
to match longer IEs, that match either WMM or WPA formats). We can
reject elements that don't have the minimum-required 3 byte OUI.

While we're at it, move the non-standard subtype and version fields into
the WMM structs, to avoid this confusion in the future about generic
"vendor header" attributes.

4b5dde2d62 mwifiex: correct channel stat buffer overflows
mwifiex records information about various channels as it receives scan
information. It does this by appending to a buffer that was sized
to the max number of supported channels on any band, but there are
numerous problems:

(a) scans can return info from more than one band (e.g., both 2.4 and 5
    GHz), so the determined "max" is not large enough
(b) some firmware appears to return multiple results for a given
    channel, so the max *really* isn't large enough
(c) there is no bounds checking when stashing these stats, so problems
    (a) and (b) can easily lead to buffer overflows

Let's patch this by setting a slightly-more-correct max (that accounts
for a combination of both 2.4G and 5G bands) and adding a bounds check
when writing to our statistics buffer.

Due to problem (b), we still might not properly report all known survey
information (e.g., with "iw <dev> survey dump"), since duplicate results
(or otherwise "larger than expected" results) will cause some
truncation. But that's a problem for a future bugfix.

(And because of this known deficiency, only log the excess at the WARN
level, since that isn't visible by default in this driver and would
otherwise be a bit too noisy.)

1d76250bd3 nl80211: support beacon report scanning
Beacon report radio measurement requires reporting observed BSSs
on the channels specified in the beacon request. If the measurement
mode is set to passive or active, it requires actually performing a
scan (passive or active, accordingly), and reporting the time that
the scan was started and the time each beacon/probe was received
(both in terms of TSF of the BSS of the requesting AP). If the
request mode is table, this information is optional.
In addition, the radio measurement request specifies the channel
dwell time for the measurement.

In order to use scan for beacon report when the mode is active or
passive, add a parameter to scan request that specifies the
channel dwell time, and add scan start time and beacon received time
to scan results information.

Supporting beacon report is required for Multi Band Operation (MBO).

c70ca8cb9a mwifiex: factor out mwifiex_cancel_pending_scan_cmd
Releasing the scan_pending lock in mwifiex_check_next_scan_command
introduces a short window where pending scan commands can be removed
or added before removing them all in mwifiex_cancel_pending_scan_cmd.
I think this is safe, since the worst thing to happen is that a
pending scan cmd is removed by the command handler. Adding new scan
commands is not possible while one is pending, see scan_processing flag.
Since all commands are removed from the queue anyway, we don't care if
some commands are removed by a different code path earlier, the final
state remains the same.
I assume, that the critical section needed for the check has been
extended over clearing the pending scan queue out of convenience. The
lock was already held and releasing it and grab it again was just
more work. It doesn't seem to be necessary because of concurrency.
