8fa7292fee treewide: Switch/rename to timer_delete[_sync]()
timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree
over and remove the historical wrapper inlines.

Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary.

1eb2cded45 net: annotate writes on dev->mtu from ndo_change_mtu()
Simon reported that ndo_change_mtu() methods were never
updated to use WRITE_ONCE(dev->mtu, new_mtu) as hinted
in commit 501a90c945 ("inet: protect against too small
mtu values.")

We read dev->mtu without holding RTNL in many places,
with READ_ONCE() annotations.

It is time to take care of ndo_change_mtu() methods
to use corresponding WRITE_ONCE()

d0d8c54878 net: sxgbe: remove eee_enabled/eee_active in sxgbe_get_eee()
sxgbe_get_eee() sets edata->eee_active and edata->eee_enabled from its
own copy, and then calls phy_ethtool_get_eee() which in turn will call
genphy_c45_ethtool_get_eee().

genphy_c45_ethtool_get_eee() will overwrite eee_enabled and eee_active
with its own interpretation from the PHYs settings and negotiation
result.

Therefore, setting these members in sxgbe_get_eee() is redundant.
Remove this, and remove the priv->eee_active member which then becomes
a write-only variable.

15fa05bf41 ethernet: sxgbe: use eth_hw_addr_set()
Commit 406f42fa0d ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount
of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look
up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.

Read the address into an array on the stack, then call
eth_hw_addr_set().

a76053707d dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctl
Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement
the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware
timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP.

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to
implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find
their way through the implementation.

d0ea5cbdc2 drivers/net/ethernet: clean up mis-targeted comments
As part of the W=1 cleanups for ethernet, a million [*] driver
comments had to be cleaned up to get the W=1 compilation to
succeed. This change finally makes the drivers/net/ethernet tree
compile with W=1 set on the command line. NOTE: The kernel uses
kdoc style (see Documentation/process/kernel-doc.rst) when
documenting code, not doxygen or other styles.

After this patch the x86_64 build has no warnings from W=1, however
scripts/kernel-doc says there are 1545 more warnings in source files, that
I need to develop a script to fix in a followup patch.

The errors fixed here are all kdoc of a few classes, with a few outliers:

f3cc008bf6 sxgbe: Fix off by one in samsung driver strncpy size arg
This patch fixes an off-by-one error in strncpy size argument in
drivers/net/ethernet/samsung/sxgbe/sxgbe_main.c. The issue is that in:

        strncmp(opt, "eee_timer:", 6)

the passed string literal: "eee_timer:" has 10 bytes (without the NULL
byte) and the passed size argument is 6. As a result, the logic will
also accept other, malformed strings, e.g. "eee_tiXXX:".

This bug doesn't seem to have any security impact since its present in
module's cmdline parsing code.

980f140493 net: ethernet: sxgbe: remove private tx queue lock
The driver uses a private lock for synchronization of the xmit function and
the xmit completion handler, but since the NETIF_F_LLTX flag is not set,
the xmit function is also called with the xmit_lock held.

On the other hand the completion handler uses the reverse locking order by
first taking the private lock and (in case that the tx queue had been
stopped) then the xmit_lock.

Improve the locking by removing the private lock and using only the
xmit_lock for synchronization instead.

2ebc440a1f net: ethernet: sxgbe: use phydev from struct net_device
The private structure contain a pointer to phydev, but the structure
net_device already contain such pointer. So we can remove the pointer
phydev in the private structure, and update the driver to use the
one contained in struct net_device.

37c85c3498 net: sxgbe: fix error handling in init_rx_ring()
There are a couple bugs with the error handling in this function.

1) If we can't allocate "rx_ring->rx_skbuff" then we should call
   dma_free_coherent() but we don't.
2) free_rx_ring() frees "rx_ring->rx_skbuff_dma" and "rx_ring->rx_skbuff"
   so calling it in a loop causes a double free.

Also it was a bit confusing how we sometimes freed things before doing
the goto. I've cleaned it up so it does error handling in normal kernel
style.

Convert a call to init_timer and accompanying intializations of
the timer's data and function fields to a call to setup_timer.

A simplified version of the semantic match that fixes this problem is as
follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/)

// <smpl>

expression t,f,d;

-init_timer(&t);

	drivers/net/ethernet/altera/altera_sgdma.c
	net/netlink/af_netlink.c
	net/sched/cls_api.c
	net/sched/sch_api.c

The netlink conflict dealt with moving to netlink_capable() and
netlink_ns_capable() in the 'net' tree vs. supporting 'tc' operations
in non-init namespaces. These were simple transformations from
netlink_capable to netlink_ns_capable.

The Altera driver conflict was simply code removal overlapping some
void pointer cast cleanups in net-next.
