6de0600428 net: hns3: create new set of common rss set APIs for PF and VF module
Currently, hns3 PF and VF rss module have two sets of rss set APIs to
configure rss. There is no need to keep two sets of these same APIs.

So this patch creates new set of common rss set APIs for PF and VF reuse.
These new APIs will be used to unify old APIs in next patches.

This patch firstly uses new rss parameter struct(hclge_comm_rss_cfg) as
child member of hclgevf_dev and deletes the original child rss parameter
member(hclgevf_rss_cfg). All the rss parameter members used in VF rss
module is modified according to the new hclge_comm_rss_cfg.

Secondly VF rss get APIs are refactored to use new common rss get APIs. The
old rss get APIs in VF are deleted.

So this patch creates new common rss get APIs for PF and VF rss module.

9970308fe6 net: hns3: refactor hclge_comm_send function in PF/VF drivers
Currently, there are two different sets of special command codes in PF and
VF cmdq modules, this is because VF driver only uses small part of all the
command codes. In other words, these not used command codes in VF are also
sepcial command codes theoretically.

So this patch unifes the special command codes and deletes the bool param
is_pf of hclge_comm_send. All the related functions are refactored
according to the new hclge_comm_send function prototype.

9667b81438 net: hns3: create new rss common structure hclge_comm_rss_cfg
Currently PF stores its rss parameters in vport structure. VF stores rss
configurations in hclgevf_rss_cfg structure. Actually hns3 rss parameters
are same beween PF and VF. The two set of rss parameters are redundent and
may add extra bugfix work.

So this patch creates new common rss parameter struct(hclge_comm_rss_cfg)
to unify PF and VF rss configurations.

These new structures will be used to unify rss configurations in PF and VF

aab8d1c6a5 net: hns3: delete the hclge_cmd.c and hclgevf_cmd.c
currently most cmdq APIs are unified in hclge_comm_cmd.c. Newly developed
cmdq APIs should also be placed in hclge_comm_cmd.c. So there is no need to
keep hclge_cmd.c and hclgevf_cmd.c.

This patch moves the hclge(vf)_cmd_send to hclge(vf)_main.c and deletes
the source files and makefile scripts.

0a7b6d2218 net: hns3: create new cmdq hardware description structure hclge_comm_hw
Currently PF and VF cmdq APIs use struct hclge(vf)_hw to describe cmdq
hardware information needed by hclge(vf)_cmd_send. There are a little
differences between its child struct hclge_cmq_ring and hclgevf_cmq_ring.
It is redundent to use two sets of structures to support same functions.

So this patch creates new set of common cmdq hardware description
structures(hclge_comm_hw) to unify PF and VF cmdq functions. The struct
hclge_desc is still kept to avoid too many meaningless replacement.

These new structures will be used to unify hclge(vf)_hw structures in PF

5f20be4e90 net: hns3: refactor hns3 makefile to support hns3_common module
Currently we plan to refactor PF and VF cmdq module. A new file folder
hns3_common will be created to store new common APIs used by PF and VF
cmdq module. Thus the PF and VF compilation process will both depends on
the hns3_common. This may cause parallel building problems if we add a new
makefile building unit.

So this patch combined the PF and VF makefile scripts to the top level
makefile to support the new hns3_common which will be created in the next
patch.

3b6db4a049 net: hns3: sync rx ring head in echo common pull
When the driver processes rx packets, the head pointer is updated only
after the number of received packets reaches 16. However, hardware
relies on the head pointer to calculate the number of FBDs. As a result,
the hardware calculates the FBD incorrectly. Therefore, the driver
proactively updates the head pointer in each common poll to ensure that
the number of FBDs calculated by the hardware is correct.

0b653a81a2 net: hns3: fix pfc packet number incorrect after querying pfc parameters
Currently, driver will send command to firmware to query pfc packet number
when user uses dcb tool to get pfc parameters. However, the periodic
service task will also periodically query and record MAC statistics,
including pfc packet number.

As the hardware registers of statistics is cleared after reading, it will
cause pfc packet number of MAC statistics are not correct after using dcb
tool to get pfc parameters.

To fix this problem, when user uses dcb tool to get pfc parameters, driver
updates MAC statistics firstly and then get pfc packet number from MAC
statistics.

beb27ca451 net: hns3: fix ROCE base interrupt vector initialization bug
Currently, NIC init ROCE interrupt vector with MSIX interrupt. But ROCE use
pci_irq_vector() to get interrupt vector, which adds the relative interrupt
vector again and gets wrong interrupt vector.

So fixes it by assign relative interrupt vector to ROCE instead of MSIX
interrupt vector and delete the unused struct member base_msi_vector
declaration of hclgevf_dev.

3b4c6566c1 net: hns3: fix failed to add reuse multicast mac addr to hardware when mc mac table is full
Currently, when driver is failed to add a new multicast mac address to
hardware due to the multicast mac table is full, it will directly return.
In this case, if the multicast mac list has some reuse addresses after the
new address, those reuse addresses will never be added to hardware.

To fix this problem, if function hclge_add_mc_addr_common() returns
-ENOSPC, hclge_sync_vport_mac_list() should judge whether continue or
stop to add next address.

As function hclge_sync_vport_mac_list() needs parameter mac_type to know
whether is uc or mc, refine this function to add parameter mac_type and
remove parameter sync. So does function hclge_unsync_vport_mac_list().

f29da4088f net: hns3: change hclge/hclgevf workqueue to WQ_UNBOUND mode
Currently, the workqueue of hclge/hclgevf is executed on
the CPU that initiates scheduling requests by default. In
stress scenarios, the CPU may be busy and workqueue scheduling
is completed after a long period of time. To avoid this
situation and implement proper scheduling, use the WQ_UNBOUND
mode instead. In this way, the workqueue can be performed on

3bda2e5df4 net: hns3: fix pause config problem after autoneg disabled
If a TP port is configured by follow steps:
1.ethtool -s ethx autoneg off speed 100 duplex full
2.ethtool -A ethx rx on tx on
3.ethtool -s ethx autoneg on(rx&tx negotiated pause results are off)
4.ethtool -s ethx autoneg off speed 100 duplex full

In step 3, driver will set rx&tx pause parameters of hardware to off as
pause parameters negotiated with link partner are off.

After step 4, the "ethtool -a ethx" command shows both rx and tx pause
parameters are on. However, pause parameters of hardware are still off
and port has no flow control function actually.

To fix this problem, if autoneg is disabled, driver uses its saved
parameters to restore pause of hardware. If the speed is not changed in
this case, there is no link state changed for phy, it will cause the pause
parameter is not taken effect, so we need to force phy to go down and up.

The mac statistics add pause/pfc durations in device version V3, we can

As driver gets register number from firmware to calculate desc number to
query mac statistics, it needs to set mac statistics extended enable bit
in firmware command 0x701A to tell firmware that driver supports extended
mac statistics, otherwise firmware only returns register number of

As pause/pfc durations are not supported by hardware of old version, they
should not been shown in command "ethtool -S ethX" in this case, so add

0bd7e894df net: hns3: modify mac statistics update process for compatibility
After querying mac statistics from firmware, driver copies data from
descriptors to struct mac_stats of hdev, and the number of copied data
is just according to the register number queried from firmware. There is
a problem that if the register number queried from firmware is larger
than data number of struct mac_stats, it will cause a copy overflow.

So if the firmware adds more mac statistics in later version, it is not
compatible with driver of old version.

To fix this problem, the number of copied data needs to be used the
minimum value between the register number queried from firmware and
data number of struct mac_stats.

The first descriptor has three data and there is one reserved, to
optimize the copy process, add this reserverd data to struct mac_stats.

766607570b ethernet: constify references to netdev->dev_addr in drivers
This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and
function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr.

Commit 406f42fa0d ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount
of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look
up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.

Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const
is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing.
It seems like it's still better to add the const in case
the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled
for the build.

No functional changes.

Commit a0c76345e3 ("devlink: disallow reload operation during device

operation from racing with device probe/dismantle.

After recent changes to move devlink_register() to the end of device
probe and devlink_unregister() to the beginning of device dismantle,
these races can no longer happen. Reload operations will be denied if

0178839ccc net: hns3: disable firmware compatible features when uninstall PF
Currently, the firmware compatible features are enabled in PF driver

deinitialization process and firmware keeps these features in enabled

In this case, if load an old PF driver (for example, in VM) which not

e435a6b531 net: hns3: PF support get unicast MAC address space assigned by firmware
Currently, there are two ways for PF to set the unicast MAC address space
size: specified by config parameters in firmware or set to default value.

That's mean if the config parameters in firmware is zero, driver will
divide the whole unicast MAC address space equally to 8 PFs. However, in
this case, the unicast MAC address space will be wasted a lot when the
hardware actually has less then 8 PFs. And in the other hand, if one PF has
much more VFs than other PFs, then each function of this PF will has much
less address space than other PFs.

In order to ameliorate the above two situations, introduce the third way
of unicast MAC address space assignment: firmware divides the whole unicast
MAC address space equally to functions of all PFs, and calculates the space
size of each PF according to its function number. PF queries the space size
by the querying device specification command when in initialization
process.

The third way assignment is lower priority than specified by config
parameters, only if the config parameters is zero can be used, and if
firmware does not support the third way assignment, then driver still
divides the whole unicast MAC address space equally to 8 PFs.

Currently, the VF does not clear the interrupt source immediately after

Clearing it immediately after executing check_evt_cause ensures that:
1. Even if two interrupt tasks are triggered at the same time, they can
be processed.
2. If the second task is triggered during the processing of the first

a76053707d dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctl
Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement
the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find

4671042f1e net: hns3: add match_id to check mailbox response from PF to VF
When VF need response from PF, VF will wait (1us - 1s) to receive
the response, or it will wait timeout and the VF action fails.
If VF do not receive response in 1st action because timeout,
the 2nd action may receive response for the 1st action, and get
incorrect response data.VF must reciveve the right response from
PF,or it will cause unexpected error.

This patch adds match_id to check mailbox response from PF to VF,
to make sure VF get the right response:
1. The message sent from VF was labelled with match_id which was a
unique 16-bit non-zero value.
2. The response sent from PF will label with match_id which got from
the request.
3. The VF uses the match_id to match request and response message.

This scheme depends on PF driver supports match_id, if PF driver doesn't
support then VF will uses the original scheme.

1b713d14dc net: hns3: fix possible mismatches resp of mailbox
Currently, the mailbox synchronous communication between VF and PF use
the following fields to maintain communication:
1. Origin_mbx_msg which was combined by message code and subcode, used
to match request and response.
2. Received_resp which means whether received response.

There may possible mismatches of the following situation:
1. VF sends message A with code=1 subcode=1.
2. PF was blocked about 500ms when processing the message A.
3. VF will detect message A timeout because it can't get the response
within 500ms.
4. VF sends message B with code=1 subcode=1 which equal message A.
5. PF processes the first message A and send the response message to
VF.
6. VF will identify the response matched the message B because the
code/subcode is the same. This will lead to mismatch of request and
response.

To fix the above bug, we use the following scheme:
1. The message sent from VF was labelled with match_id which was a
unique 16-bit non-zero value.
2. The response sent from PF will label with match_id which got from
the request.
3. The VF uses the match_id to match request and response message.

As for PF driver, it only needs to copy the match_id from request to
response.

99f6b5fb5f net: hns3: use bounce buffer when rx page can not be reused
Currently rx page will be reused to receive future packet when
the stack releases the previous skb quickly. If the old page
can not be reused, a new page will be allocated and mapped,
which comsumes a lot of cpu when IOMMU is in the strict mode,
especially when the application and irq/NAPI happens to run on
the same cpu.

So allocate a new frag to memcpy the data to avoid the costly
IOMMU unmapping/mapping operation, and add "frag_alloc_err"
and "frag_alloc" stats in "ethtool -S ethX" cmd.

The throughput improves above 50% when running single thread of
iperf using TCP when IOMMU is in strict mode and iperf shares the
same cpu with irq/NAPI(rx_copybreak = 2048 and mtu = 1500).

fa7711b888 net: hns3: optimize the rx page reuse handling process
Current rx page offset only reset to zero when all the below
conditions are satisfied:
1. rx page is only owned by driver.
2. rx page is reusable.
3. the page offset that is above to be given to the stack has
reached the end of the page.

If the page offset is over the hns3_buf_size(), it means the
buffer below the offset of the page is usable when the above
condition 1 & 2 are satisfied, so page offset can be reset to
zero instead of increasing the offset. We may be able to always
reuse the first 4K buffer of a 64K page, which means we can
limit the hot buffer size as much as possible.

The above optimization is a side effect when refacting the
rx page reuse handling in order to support the rx copybreak.

7459775e9f net: hns3: support dma_map_sg() for multi frags skb
Using the queue based tx buffer, it is also possible to allocate a
sgl buffer, and use skb_to_sgvec() to convert the skb to the sgvec
in order to support the dma_map_sg() to decreases the overhead of
IOMMU mapping and unmapping.

Firstly, it reduces the number of buffers. For example, a tcp skb
may have a 66-byte header and 3 fragments of 4328, 32768, and 28064
bytes. With this patch, dma_map_sg() will combine them into two
buffers, 66-bytes header and one 65160-bytes fragment by using IOMMU.

Secondly, it reduces the number of dma mapping and unmapping. All the
original 4 buffers are mapped only once rather than 4 times.

The throughput improves above 10% when running single thread of iperf
using TCP when IOMMU is in strict mode.

Currently, hardware errors can be reported through AER or MSI-X mode.
However, the AER mode is intended to handle only bus errors, but not
hardware errors. On the other hand, virtual machines cannot handle
AER errors. When an AER error is reported, virtual machines will be
suspended. So add support for handling all these hardware errors
through MSI-X mode which depends on a newer version of firmware,
and reserve the handler of the AER mode for compatibility.

d991452dd7 net: hns3: add a separate error handling task
Error handling and recovery logic are intertwined. Error handling (i.e.
error identification, clearing error sources and initiation of recovery)
is done in context of reset task. If certain hardware errors get
delivered during driver init time, which can cause driver init/loading
to fail.

Introduce a separate error handling task to ensure below:

1. Reset logic remains independent of the error handling logic.
2. Add the hclge_errhand_task_schedule to schedule error recovery
tasks, This will ensure that common misellaneous MSI-X interrupt are
re-enabled quickly.

2ba306627f net: hns3: add support for modify VLAN filter state
Previously, with hardware limitation, the port VLAN filter are
effective for both PF and its VFs simultaneously, so a single
function is not able to enable/disable separately, and the VLAN
filter state is default enabled. Now some device supports each
function to bypass port VLAN filter, then each function can
switch VLAN filter separately. Add capability flag to check
whether the device supports modify VLAN filter state. If flag

Furtherly, the default VLAN filter state is also changed

73a13d8dbe net: hns3: fix user's coalesce configuration lost issue
Currently, when adaptive is on, the user's coalesce configuration
may be overwritten by the dynamic one. The reason is that user's
configurations are saved in struct hns3_enet_tqp_vector whose
value maybe changed by the dynamic algorithm. To fix it, use
struct hns3_nic_priv instead of struct hns3_enet_tqp_vector to
save and get the user's configuration.

BTW, operations of storing and restoring coalesce info in the reset
process are unnecessary now, so remove them as well.

796640778c net: hns3: support RXD advanced layout
Currently, the driver gets packet type by parsing the
L3_ID/L4_ID/OL3_ID/OL4_ID from RX descriptor, it's
time-consuming.

Now some new devices support RXD advanced layout, which combines
previous OL3_ID/OL4_ID to 8bit ptype field, so the driver gets
packet type by looking up only one table, and L3_ID/L4_ID become
reserved fields.

Considering compatibility, the firmware will report capability of
RXD advanced layout, the driver will identify and enable it by
default. This patch provides basic function: identify and enable
the RXD advanced layout, and refactor out hns3_rx_checksum() by
using ptype table to handle RX checksum if supported.

715c58e94f net: hns3: add suspend and resume pm_ops
To implement the system suspend/resume functions, the NIC driver needs
to support:
1. When the system enters the suspend mode, the driver needs to
implement the suspend callback function of the NIC device. The driver
needs to mute the device, stop all RX/TX activities of the device, and
unmap the interrupt.
2. When the system enters the resume mode, the driver needs to
implement the resume callback function of the NIC device and restore
the device to the state before suspension.

When the system enters the suspend and resume mode, the NIC driver
actually executes the PF function reset process.

When the PFs are suspending/resuming, VFs also enter the suspend/resume
state because the PFs trigger the VFs to reset, therefore no operation
is required when the VF pci_driver is suspending or resuming.

When new rule state is TO_ADD or ACTIVE, and there is already a
rule with same location in the fd_rule_list, the new rule will
be freed after modifying the old rule. It may cause user-after-free
issue when access rule again in hclge_add_fd_entry_common().
