- Wrap datapath globals into net_aligned_data, to avoid false sharing.

time/timecounter: Fix the lie that struct cyclecounter is const
In both the read callback for struct cyclecounter, and in struct timecounter, struct cyclecounter is declared as a const pointer. Unfortunatly, a number of users of this pointer treat it as a non-const pointer as it is burried in a larger structure that is heavily modified by the callback function when accessed. This lie had been hidden by the fact that container_of() "casts away" a const attribute of a pointer without any compiler warning happening at all. Fix this all up by removing the const attribute in the needed places so that everyone can see that the structure really isn't const, but can, and is, modified by the users of it. udp_tunnel: remove rtnl_lock dependency
Drivers that are using ops lock and don't depend on RTNL lock
still need to manage it because udp_tunnel's RTNL dependency.
Introduce new udp_tunnel_nic_lock and use it instead of
rtnl_lock. Drop non-UDP_TUNNEL_NIC_INFO_MAY_SLEEP mode from
udp_tunnel infra (udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync_work needs to
grab udp_tunnel_nic_lock mutex and might sleep).

cnic,bnx2,bnx2x: use UIO_MEM_DMA_COHERENT
Use the UIO_MEM_DMA_COHERENT type to properly handle mmap for dma_alloc_coherent buffers. The cnic l2_ring and l2_buf mmaps have caused page refcount issues as the dma_alloc_coherent no longer provide __GFP_COMP allocation as per commit "dma-mapping: reject __GFP_COMP in dma_alloc_attrs". Fix this by having the uio device use dma_mmap_coherent. The bnx2 and bnx2x status block allocations are also dma_alloc_coherent, and should use dma_mmap_coherent. They don't allocate multiple pages, but this interface does not work correctly with an iommu enabled unless dma_mmap_coherent is used. bnx2x: new flag for track HW resource allocation
While injecting PCIe errors to the upstream PCIe switch of a BCM57810 NIC, system hangs/crashes were observed. After several calls to bnx2x_tx_timout() complete, bnx2x_nic_unload() is called to free up HW resources and bnx2x_napi_disable() is called to release NAPI objects. Later, when the EEH driver calls bnx2x_io_slot_reset() to complete the recovery process, bnx2x attempts to disable NAPI again by calling bnx2x_napi_disable() and freeing resources which have already been freed, resulting in a hang or crash. Introduce a new flag to track the HW resource and NAPI allocation state, refactor duplicated code into a single function, check page pool allocation status before freeing, and reduces debug output when a TX timeout event occurs. bnx2x: fix page fault following EEH recovery
In the last step of the EEH recovery process, the EEH driver calls into bnx2x_io_resume() to re-initialize the NIC hardware via the function bnx2x_nic_load(). If an error occurs during bnx2x_nic_load(), OS and hardware resources are released and an error code is returned to the caller. When called from bnx2x_io_resume(), the return code is ignored and the network interface is brought up unconditionally. Later attempts to send a packet via this interface result in a page fault due to a null pointer reference. This patch checks the return code of bnx2x_nic_load(), prints an error message if necessary, and does not enable the interface. The summary of the changes for this pull requests is:
* Song Liu's new struct module_memory replacement
* Nick Alcock's MODULE_LICENSE() removal for non-modules
* My cleanups and enhancements to reduce the areas where we vmalloc
module memory for duplicates, and the respective debug code which
proves the remaining vmalloc pressure comes from userspace.
Most of the changes have been in linux-next for quite some time except
the minor fixes I made to check if a module was already loaded
prior to allocating the final module memory with vmalloc and the
respective debug code it introduces to help clarify the issue. Although
the functional change is small it is rather safe as it can only *help*
reduce vmalloc space for duplicates and is confirmed to fix a bootup
issue with over 400 CPUs with KASAN enabled. I don't expect stable
kernels to pick up that fix as the cleanups would have also had to have
been picked up. Folks on larger CPU systems with modules will want to
just upgrade if vmalloc space has been an issue on bootup.
Given the size of this request, here's some more elaborate details
on this pull request.
The functional change change in this pull request is the very first
patch from Song Liu which replaces the struct module_layout with a new
struct module memory. The old data structure tried to put together all
types of supported module memory types in one data structure, the new
one abstracts the differences in memory types in a module to allow each
one to provide their own set of details. This paves the way in the
future so we can deal with them in a cleaner way. If you look at changes
they also provide a nice cleanup of how we handle these different memory
areas in a module. This change has been in linux-next since before the
merge window opened for v6.3 so to provide more than a full kernel cycle
of testing. It's a good thing as quite a bit of fixes have been found
for it.
Jason Baron then made dynamic debug a first class citizen module user by
using module notifier callbacks to allocate / remove module specific
dynamic debug information.
Nick Alcock has done quite a bit of work cross-tree to remove module
license tags from things which cannot possibly be module at my request
so to:
a) help him with his longer term tooling goals which require a
deterministic evaluation if a piece a symbol code could ever be
part of a module or not. But quite recently it is has been made
clear that tooling is not the only one that would benefit.
Disambiguating symbols also helps efforts such as live patching,
kprobes and BPF, but for other reasons and R&D on this area
is active with no clear solution in sight.
b) help us inch closer to the now generally accepted long term goal
of automating all the MODULE_LICENSE() tags from SPDX license tags
In so far as a) is concerned, although module license tags are a no-op
for non-modules, tools which would want create a mapping of possible

bnx2x: Remove useless DMA-32 fallback configuration
As stated in [1], dma_set_mask() with a 64-bit mask never fails if dev->dma_mask is non-NULL. So, if it fails, the 32 bits case will also fail for the same reason. Moreover, dma_set_mask_and_coherent() returns 0 or -EIO, so the return code of the function can be used directly. Finally, inline bnx2x_set_coherency_mask() because it is now only a wrapper for a single dma_set_mask_and_coherent() call. Simplify code and remove some dead code accordingly. drivers/net/ethernet: clean up mis-targeted comments
As part of the W=1 cleanups for ethernet, a million [*] driver
comments had to be cleaned up to get the W=1 compilation to
succeed. This change finally makes the drivers/net/ethernet tree
compile with W=1 set on the command line. NOTE: The kernel uses
kdoc style (see Documentation/process/kernel-doc.rst) when
documenting code, not doxygen or other styles.
After this patch the x86_64 build has no warnings from W=1, however
scripts/kernel-doc says there are 1545 more warnings in source files, that
I need to develop a script to fix in a followup patch.
The errors fixed here are all kdoc of a few classes, with a few outliers:

bnx2x: use generic power management
With legacy PM, drivers themselves were responsible for managing the device's power states and takes care of register states. After upgrading to the generic structure, PCI core will take care of required tasks and drivers should do only device-specific operations. The driver was also calling bnx2x_set_power_state() to set the power state of the device by changing the device's registers' value. It is no more needed. Compile-tested only. net: Introduce peer to peer one step PTP time stamping.
The 1588 standard defines one step operation for both Sync and PDelay_Resp messages. Up until now, hardware with P2P one step has been rare, and kernel support was lacking. bnx2x: Do not handle requests from VFs after parity
Parity error from the hardware will cause PF to lose the state of their VFs due to PF's internal reload and hardware reset following the parity error. Restrict any configuration request from the VFs after the parity as it could cause unexpected hardware behavior, only way for VFs to recover would be to trigger FLR on VFs and reload them.
