fc788c4068 misc: fastrpc: Add meaningful labels for exit paths
In the fastrpc_rpmsg_probe function, the exit path labels are not
intuitive and do not clearly indicate the purpose of the goto
statements. Rename goto labels to make it more intuitive and to
align with labels of other functions.

8fa7292fee treewide: Switch/rename to timer_delete[_sync]()
timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree
over and remove the historical wrapper inlines.

Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary.

92b71befc3 These are objtool fixes and updates by Josh Poimboeuf, centered
around the fallout from the new CONFIG_OBJTOOL_WERROR=y feature,
which, despite its default-off nature, increased the profile/impact
 of objtool warnings:

  - Improve error handling and the presentation of warnings/errors.

  - Revert the new summary warning line that some test-bot tools
    interpreted as new regressions.

  - Fix a number of objtool warnings in various drivers, core kernel
code and architecture code. About half of them are potential
problems related to out-of-bounds accesses or potential undefined
behavior, the other half are additional objtool annotations.

  - Update objtool to latest (known) compiler quirks and
objtool bugs triggered by compiler code generation

  - Misc fixes

Pull pci updates from Bjorn Helgaas:
 "Enumeration:

   - Enable Configuration RRS SV, which makes device readiness visible,
early instead of during child bus scanning (Bjorn Helgaas)

   - Log debug messages about reset methods being used (Bjorn Helgaas)

   - Avoid reset when it has been disabled via sysfs (Nishanth
     Aravamudan)

   - Add common pci-ep-bus.yaml schema for exporting several peripherals
of a single PCI function via devicetree (Andrea della Porta)

   - Create DT nodes for PCI host bridges to enable loading device tree
overlays to create platform devices for PCI devices that have
several features that require multiple drivers (Herve Codina)

  Resource management:

   - Enlarge devres table[] to accommodate bridge windows, ROM, IOV
BARs, etc., and validate BAR index in devres interfaces (Philipp
     Stanner)

   - Fix typo that repeatedly distributed resources to a bridge instead
of iterating over subordinate bridges, which resulted in too little
space to assign some BARs (Kai-Heng Feng)

   - Relax bridge window tail sizing for optional resources, e.g., IOV
BARs, to avoid failures when removing and re-adding devices (Ilpo
     Järvinen)

   - Allow drivers to enable devices even if we haven't assigned
optional IOV resources to them (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Rework handling of optional resources (IOV BARs, ROMs) to reduce
failures if we can't allocate them (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Fix a NULL dereference in the SR-IOV VF creation error path (Shay
     Drory)

   - Fix s390 mmio_read/write syscalls, which didn't cause page faults
in some cases, which broke vfio-pci lazy mapping on first access
     (Niklas Schnelle)

   - Add pdev->non_mappable_bars to replace CONFIG_VFIO_PCI_MMAP, which
was disabled only for s390 (Niklas Schnelle)

   - Support mmap of PCI resources on s390 except for ISM devices
     (Niklas Schnelle)

  ASPM:

   - Delay pcie_link_state deallocation to avoid dangling pointers that
cause invalid references during hot-unplug (Daniel Stodden)

  Power management:

   - Allow PCI bridges to go to D3Hot when suspending on all non-x86
     systems (Manivannan Sadhasivam)

  Power control:

   - Create pwrctrl devices in pci_scan_device() to make it more
symmetric with pci_pwrctrl_unregister() and make pwrctrl devices
for PCI bridges possible (Manivannan Sadhasivam)

   - Unregister pwrctrl devices in pci_destroy_dev() so DOE, ASPM, etc.
can still access devices after pci_stop_dev() (Manivannan
     Sadhasivam)

   - If there's a pwrctrl device for a PCI device, skip scanning it
because the pwrctrl core will rescan the bus after the device is
     powered on (Manivannan Sadhasivam)

   - Add a pwrctrl driver for PCI slots based on voltage regulators
     described via devicetree (Manivannan Sadhasivam)

  Bandwidth control:

   - Add set_pcie_speed.sh to TEST_PROGS to fix issue when executing the
     set_pcie_cooling_state.sh test case (Yi Lai)

   - Avoid a NULL pointer dereference when we run out of bus numbers to
assign for a bridge secondary bus (Lukas Wunner)

  Hotplug:

   - Drop superfluous pci_hotplug_slot_list, try_module_get() calls, and
     NULL pointer checks (Lukas Wunner)

   - Drop shpchp module init/exit logging, replace shpchp dbg() with
ctrl_dbg(), and remove unused dbg(), err(), info(), warn() wrappers
     (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Drop 'shpchp_debug' module parameter in favor of standard dynamic
     debugging (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Drop unused cpcihp .get_power(), .set_power() function pointers
     (Guilherme Giacomo Simoes)

   - Disable hotplug interrupts in portdrv only when pciehp is not
enabled to avoid issuing two hotplug commands too close together
     (Feng Tang)

   - Skip pciehp 'device replaced' check if the device has been removed
to address a deadlock when resuming after a device was removed
     during system sleep (Lukas Wunner)

   - Don't enable pciehp hotplug interupt when resuming in poll mode
     (Ilpo Järvinen)

  Virtualization:

   - Fix bugs in 'pci=config_acs=' kernel command line parameter (Tushar
     Dave)

  DOE:

   - Expose supported DOE features via sysfs (Alistair Francis)

   - Allow DOE support to be enabled even if CXL isn't enabled (Alistair
     Francis)

  Endpoint framework:

   - Convert PCI device data so pci-epf-test works correctly on
     big-endian endpoint systems (Niklas Cassel)

   - Add BAR_RESIZABLE type to endpoint framework and add DWC core
support for EPF drivers to set BAR_RESIZABLE type and size (Niklas
     Cassel)

   - Fix pci-epf-test double free that causes an oops if the host
reboots and PERST# deassertion restarts endpoint BAR allocation
     (Christian Bruel)

   - Fix endpoint BAR testing so tests can skip disabled BARs instead of
reporting them as failures (Niklas Cassel)

   - Widen endpoint test BAR size variable to accommodate BARs larger
     than INT_MAX (Niklas Cassel)

   - Remove unused tools 'pci' build target left over after moving tests
     to tools/testing/selftests/pci_endpoint (Jianfeng Liu)

  Altera PCIe controller driver:

   - Add DT binding and driver support for Agilex family (P-Tile,
     F-Tile, R-Tile) (Matthew Gerlach and D M, Sharath Kumar)

  AMD MDB PCIe controller driver:

   - Add DT binding and driver for AMD MDB (Multimedia DMA Bridge)
     (Thippeswamy Havalige)

  Broadcom STB PCIe controller driver:

   - Add BCM2712 MSI-X DT binding and interrupt controller drivers and
add softdep on irq_bcm2712_mip driver to ensure that it is loaded
     first (Stanimir Varbanov)

   - Expand inbound window map to 64GB so it can accommodate BCM2712
     (Stanimir Varbanov)

   - Add BCM2712 support and DT updates (Stanimir Varbanov)

   - Apply link speed restriction before bringing link up, not after
     (Jim Quinlan)

   - Update Max Link Speed in Link Capabilities via the internal
writable register, not the read-only config register (Jim Quinlan)

   - Handle regulator_bulk_get() error to avoid panic when we call
     regulator_bulk_free() later (Jim Quinlan)

   - Disable regulators only when removing the bus immediately below a
Root Port because we don't support regulators deeper in the
     hierarchy (Jim Quinlan)

   - Make const read-only arrays static (Colin Ian King)

05026ea01e objtool, lkdtm: Obfuscate the do_nothing() pointer
If execute_location()'s memcpy of do_nothing() gets inlined and unrolled
by the compiler, it copies one word at a time:

    mov 0x0(%rip),%rax R_X86_64_PC32 .text+0x1374
    mov %rax,0x38(%rbx)

    mov %rax,0x30(%rbx)
    ...

Those .text references point to the middle of the function, causing
objtool to complain about their lack of ENDBR.

Prevent that by resolving the function pointer at runtime rather than
build time. This fixes the following warning:

drivers/misc/lkdtm/lkdtm.o: warning: objtool: execute_location+0x23: relocation to !ENDBR: .text+0x1378

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Add support for PCITEST_IRQ_TYPE_AUTO
For PCITEST_MSI we really want to set PCITEST_SET_IRQTYPE explicitly
to PCITEST_IRQ_TYPE_MSI, since we want to test if MSI works.

For PCITEST_MSIX we really want to set PCITEST_SET_IRQTYPE explicitly
to PCITEST_IRQ_TYPE_MSIX, since we want to test if MSI works.

For PCITEST_LEGACY_IRQ we really want to set PCITEST_SET_IRQTYPE
explicitly to PCITEST_IRQ_TYPE_INTX, since we want to test if INTx
works.

However, for PCITEST_WRITE, PCITEST_READ, PCITEST_COPY, we really don't
care which IRQ type that is used, we just want to use a IRQ type that is
supported by the EPC.

The old behavior was to always use MSI for PCITEST_WRITE, PCITEST_READ,
PCITEST_COPY, was to always set IRQ type to MSI before doing the actual
test, however, there are EPC drivers that do not support MSI.

Add a new PCITEST_IRQ_TYPE_AUTO, that will use the CAPS register to see
which IRQ types the endpoint supports, and use one of the supported IRQ
types.

For backwards compatibility, if the endpoint does not expose any supported
IRQ type in the CAPS register, simply fallback to using MSI, as it was
unconditionally done before.

a50b4fe095 A treewide hrtimer timer cleanup
hrtimers are initialized with hrtimer_init() and a subsequent store to

The conversion was done with Coccinelle and a few manual fixups.

Once the conversion has completely landed in mainline, hrtimer_init()

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Remove global 'irq_type' and 'no_msi'
The global variable "irq_type" preserves the current value of
ioctl(GET_IRQTYPE).

However, all tests that use interrupts first call ioctl(SET_IRQTYPE)
to set "test->irq_type", then write the value of test->irq_type into
the register pointed by test_reg_bar, and request the interrupt to the
endpoint. The endpoint function driver, pci-epf-test, refers to the
register, and determine which type of interrupt to raise.

The global variable "irq_type" is never used in the actual test,
so remove the variable and replace it with "test->irq_type".

Also, for the same reason, the variable "no_msi" can be removed.

Initially, "test->irq_type" has IRQ_TYPE_UNDEFINED, and the
ioctl(GET_IRQTYPE) before calling ioctl(SET_IRQTYPE) will return
an error.

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Fix 'irq_type' to convey the correct type
There are two variables that indicate the interrupt type to be used
in the next test execution, "irq_type" as global and "test->irq_type".

The global is referenced from pci_endpoint_test_get_irq() to preserve
the current type for ioctl(PCITEST_GET_IRQTYPE).

The type set in this function isn't reflected in the global "irq_type",
so ioctl(PCITEST_GET_IRQTYPE) returns the previous type.

As a result, the wrong type is displayed in old version of "pcitest"
as follows:

  - Result of running "pcitest -i 0"

SET IRQ TYPE TO LEGACY: OKAY

  - Result of running "pcitest -I"

      GET IRQ TYPE: MSI

Whereas running the new version of "pcitest" in kselftest results in an
error as follows:

  # RUN pci_ep_basic.LEGACY_IRQ_TEST ...
  # pci_endpoint_test.c:104:LEGACY_IRQ_TEST:Expected 0 (0) == ret (1)
  # pci_endpoint_test.c:104:LEGACY_IRQ_TEST:Can't get Legacy IRQ type

Fix this issue by propagating the current type to the global "irq_type".

to hang some device-specific attributes. Change it over to use the faux
device instead as this is NOT a real platform device, and it makes the
code even smaller than before.

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Fix displaying 'irq_type' after 'request_irq' error
There are two variables that indicate the interrupt type to be used
in the next test execution, global "irq_type" and "test->irq_type".

The former is referenced from pci_endpoint_test_get_irq() to preserve
the current type for ioctl(PCITEST_GET_IRQTYPE).

In the pci_endpoint_test_request_irq(), since this global variable
is referenced when an error occurs, the unintended error message is
displayed.

For example, after running "pcitest -i 2", the following message
shows "MSI 3" even if the current IRQ type becomes "MSI-X":

pci-endpoint-test 0000:01:00.0: Failed to request IRQ 30 for MSI 3
SET IRQ TYPE TO MSI-X: NOT OKAY

Fix this issue by using "test->irq_type" instead of global "irq_type".

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Avoid issue of interrupts remaining after request_irq error
After devm_request_irq() fails with error in pci_endpoint_test_request_irq(),
the pci_endpoint_test_free_irq_vectors() is called assuming that all IRQs

However, some requested IRQs remain unreleased, so there are still

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Handle BAR sizes larger than INT_MAX
Running 'pcitest -b 0' fails with "TEST FAILED" when the BAR0 size
is e.g. 8 GB.

The return value of the pci_resource_len() macro can be larger than that
of a signed integer type. Thus, when using 'pcitest' with an 8 GB BAR,
the bar_size of the integer type will overflow.

Change bar_size from integer to resource_size_t to prevent integer
overflow for large BAR sizes with 32-bit compilers.

In order to handle 64-bit resource_type_t on 32-bit platforms, we would
have needed to use a function like div_u64() or similar. Instead, change
the code to use addition instead of division. This avoids the need for
div_u64() or similar, while also simplifying the code.

misc: pci_endpoint_test: Give disabled BARs a distinct error code
The current code returns -ENOMEM if test->bar[barno] is NULL.

There can be two reasons why test->bar[barno] is NULL:

  1) The pci_ioremap_bar() call in pci_endpoint_test_probe() failed.
  2) The BAR was skipped, because it is disabled by the endpoint.

Many PCI endpoint controller drivers will disable all BARs in their
init function. A disabled BAR will have a size of 0.

A PCI endpoint function driver will be able to enable any BAR that
is not marked as BAR_RESERVED (which means that the BAR should not
be touched by the EPF driver).

Thus, perform check if the size is 0, before checking if
test->bar[barno] is NULL, such that we can return different errors.

This will allow the selftests to return SKIP instead of FAIL for
disabled BARs.

f388f60ca9 x86/cpu: Drop configuration options for early 64-bit CPUs
The x86 CPU selection menu is confusing for a number of reasons:

When configuring 32-bit kernels, it shows a small number of early 64-bit
microarchitectures (K8, Core 2) but not the regular generic 64-bit target
that is the normal default. There is no longer a reason to run 32-bit
kernels on production 64-bit systems, so only actual 32-bit CPUs need
to be shown here.

When configuring 64-bit kernels, the options also pointless as there is
no way to pick any CPU from the past 15 years, leaving GENERIC_CPU as
the only sensible choice.

Address both of the above by removing the obsolete options and making
all 64-bit kernels run on both Intel and AMD CPUs from any generation.
Testing generic 32-bit kernels on 64-bit hardware remains possible,
just not building a 32-bit kernel that requires a 64-bit CPU.

fdb1ada57c mei: vsc: Use "wakeuphostint" when getting the host wakeup GPIO
The _CRS ACPI resources table has 2 entries for the host wakeup GPIO,
the first one being a regular GpioIo () resource while the second one
is a GpioInt () resource for the same pin.

The acpi_gpio_mapping table used by vsc-tp.c maps the first Gpio ()
resource to "wakeuphost-gpios" where as the second GpioInt () entry
is mapped to "wakeuphostint-gpios".

Using "wakeuphost" to request the GPIO as was done until now, means
that the gpiolib-acpi code does not know that the GPIO is active-low
as that info is only available in the GpioInt () entry.

Things were still working before due to the following happening:

1. Since the 2 entries point to the same pin they share a struct gpio_desc
2. The SPI core creates the SPI device vsc-tp.c binds to and calls
acpi_dev_gpio_irq_get(). This does use the second entry and sets
   FLAG_ACTIVE_LOW in gpio_desc.flags .
3. vsc_tp_probe() requests the "wakeuphost" GPIO and inherits the
   active-low flag set by acpi_dev_gpio_irq_get()

But there is a possible scenario where things do not work:

1. - 3. happen as above
4. After requesting the "wakeuphost" GPIO, the "resetfw" GPIO is requested
next, but its USB GPIO controller is not available yet, so this call
   returns -EPROBE_DEFER.
5. The gpio_desc for "wakeuphost" is put() and during this the active-low
flag is cleared from gpio_desc.flags .
6. Later on vsc_tp_probe() requests the "wakeuphost" GPIO again, but now it
   is not marked active-low.

The difference can also be seen in /sys/kernel/debug/gpio, which contains
the following line for this GPIO:

 gpio-535 ( |wakeuphost ) in hi IRQ ACTIVE LOW

If the second scenario is hit the "ACTIVE LOW" at the end disappears and
things do not work.

Fix this by requesting the GPIO through the "wakeuphostint" mapping instead
which provides active-low info without relying on acpi_dev_gpio_irq_get()
pre-populating this info in the gpio_desc.

Pull pci updates from Bjorn Helgaas:
 "Enumeration:

   - Batch sizing of multiple BARs while memory decoding is disabled
     instead of disabling/enabling decoding for each BAR individually;
this optimizes virtualized environments where toggling decoding
     enable is expensive (Alex Williamson)

   - Add host bridge .enable_device() and .disable_device() hooks for
bridges that need to configure things like Requester ID to StreamID
mapping when enabling devices (Frank Li)

   - Extend struct pci_ecam_ops with .enable_device() and
.disable_device() hooks so drivers that use pci_host_common_probe()
instead of their own .probe() have a way to set the
     .enable_device() callbacks (Marc Zyngier)

   - Drop 'No bus range found' message so we don't complain when DTs
     don't specify the default 'bus-range = <0x00 0xff>' (Bjorn Helgaas)

   - Rename the drivers/pci/of_property.c struct of_pci_range to
of_pci_range_entry to avoid confusion with the global of_pci_range
     in include/linux/of_address.h (Bjorn Helgaas)

  Driver binding:

   - Update resource request API documentation to encourage callers to
supply a driver name when requesting resources (Philipp Stanner)

   - Export pci_intx_unmanaged() and pcim_intx() (always managed) so
callers of pci_intx() (which is sometimes managed) can explicitly
choose the one they need (Philipp Stanner)

   - Convert drivers from pci_intx() to always-managed pcim_intx() or
     never-managed pci_intx_unmanaged(): amd_sfh, ata (ahci, ata_piix,
     pata_rdc, sata_sil24, sata_sis, sata_uli, sata_vsc), bnx2x, bna,
ntb, qtnfmac, rtsx, tifm_7xx1, vfio, xen-pciback (Philipp Stanner)

   - Remove pci_intx_unmanaged() since pci_intx() is now always
unmanaged and pcim_intx() is always managed (Philipp Stanner)

  Error handling:

   - Unexport pcie_read_tlp_log() to encourage drivers to use PCI core
logging rather than building their own (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Move TLP Log handling to its own file (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Store number of supported End-End TLP Prefixes always so we can
read the correct number of DWORDs from the TLP Prefix Log (Ilpo
     Järvinen)

   - Read TLP Prefixes in addition to the Header Log in
     pcie_read_tlp_log() (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Add pcie_print_tlp_log() to consolidate printing of TLP Header and
     Prefix Log (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Quirk the Intel Raptor Lake-P PIO log size to accommodate vendor
BIOSes that don't configure it correctly (Takashi Iwai)

  ASPM:

   - Save parent L1 PM Substates config so when we restore it along with
an endpoint's config, the parent info isn't junk (Jian-Hong Pan)

  Power management:

   - Avoid D3 for Root Ports on TUXEDO Sirius Gen1 with old BIOS because
the system can't wake up from suspend (Werner Sembach)

  Endpoint framework:

   - Destroy the EPC device in devm_pci_epc_destroy(), which previously
     didn't call devres_release() (Zijun Hu)

   - Finish virtual EP removal in pci_epf_remove_vepf(), which
previously caused a subsequent pci_epf_add_vepf() to fail with
     -EBUSY (Zijun Hu)

   - Write BAR_MASK before iATU registers in pci_epc_set_bar() so we
don't depend on the BAR_MASK reset value being larger than the
     requested BAR size (Niklas Cassel)

   - Prevent changing BAR size/flags in pci_epc_set_bar() to prevent
reads from bypassing the iATU if we reduced the BAR size (Niklas
     Cassel)

   - Verify address alignment when programming iATU so we don't attempt
to write bits that are read-only because of the BAR size, which
could lead to directing accesses to the wrong address (Niklas
     Cassel)

   - Implement artpec6 pci_epc_features so we can rely on all drivers
supporting it so we can use it in EPC core code (Niklas Cassel)

   - Check for BARs of fixed size to prevent endpoint drivers from
trying to change their size (Niklas Cassel)

   - Verify that requested BAR size is a power of two when endpoint
driver sets the BAR (Niklas Cassel)

  Endpoint framework tests:

   - Clear pci-epf-test dma_chan_rx, not dma_chan_tx, after freeing
     dma_chan_rx (Mohamed Khalfella)

   - Correct the DMA MEMCPY test so it doesn't fail if the Endpoint
supports both DMA_PRIVATE and DMA_MEMCPY (Manivannan Sadhasivam)

   - Add pci-epf-test and pci_endpoint_test support for capabilities
     (Niklas Cassel)

   - Add Endpoint test for consecutive BARs (Niklas Cassel)

   - Remove redundant comparison from Endpoint BAR test because a > 1MB
BAR can always be exactly covered by iterating with a 1MB buffer
     (Hans Zhang)

   - Move and convert PCI Endpoint tests from tools/pci to Kselftests
     (Manivannan Sadhasivam)

  Apple PCIe controller driver:

   - Convert StreamID mapping configuration from a bus notifier to the
.enable_device() and .disable_device() callbacks (Marc Zyngier)

  Freescale i.MX6 PCIe controller driver:

   - Add Requester ID to StreamID mapping configuration when enabling
     devices (Frank Li)

   - Use DWC core suspend/resume functions for imx6 (Frank Li)

   - Add suspend/resume support for i.MX8MQ, i.MX8Q, and i.MX95 (Richard
     Zhu)

   - Add DT compatible string 'fsl,imx8q-pcie-ep' and driver support for
     i.MX8Q series (i.MX8QM, i.MX8QXP, and i.MX8DXL) Endpoints (Frank
     Li)

   - Add DT binding for optional i.MX95 Refclk and driver support to
enable it if the platform hasn't enabled it (Richard Zhu)

   - Configure PHY based on controller being in Root Complex or Endpoint
     mode (Frank Li)

   - Rely on dbi2 and iATU base addresses from DT via
dw_pcie_get_resources() instead of hardcoding them (Richard Zhu)

   - Deassert apps_reset in imx_pcie_deassert_core_reset() since it is
     asserted in imx_pcie_assert_core_reset() (Richard Zhu)

   - Add missing reference clock enable or disable logic for IMX6SX,
     IMX7D, IMX8MM (Richard Zhu)

   - Remove redundant imx7d_pcie_init_phy() since
imx7d_pcie_enable_ref_clk() does the same thing (Richard Zhu)

  Freescale Layerscape PCIe controller driver:

   - Simplify by using syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle_args() instead
     of syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle() followed by
     of_property_read_u32_array() (Krzysztof Kozlowski)

  Marvell MVEBU PCIe controller driver:

   - Add MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() to enable module autoloading (Liao Chen)

  MediaTek PCIe Gen3 controller driver:

   - Use clk_bulk_prepare_enable() instead of separate
     clk_bulk_prepare() and clk_bulk_enable() (Lorenzo Bianconi)

   - Rearrange reset assert/deassert so they're both done in the
     *_power_up() callbacks (Lorenzo Bianconi)

   - Document that Airoha EN7581 requires PHY init and power-on before
PHY reset deassert, unlike other MediaTek Gen3 controllers (Lorenzo
     Bianconi)

   - Move Airoha EN7581 post-reset delay from the en7581 clock .enable()
     method to mtk_pcie_en7581_power_up() (Lorenzo Bianconi)

   - Sleep instead of delay during Airoha EN7581 power-up, since this is
     a non-atomic context (Lorenzo Bianconi)

   - Skip PERST# assertion on Airoha EN7581 during probe and
suspend/resume to avoid a hardware defect (Lorenzo Bianconi)

   - Enable async probe to reduce system startup time (Douglas Anderson)

  Microchip PolarFlare PCIe controller driver:

   - Set up the inbound address translation based on whether the
platform allows coherent or non-coherent DMA (Daire McNamara)

   - Convert mobiveil-pcie.txt to YAML and update 'interrupt-names'
     and 'reg-names' (Frank Li)

  Qualcomm PCIe controller driver:

   - Add DT SM8550 and SM8650 optional 'global' interrupt for link
     events (Neil Armstrong)

   - Add DT 'compatible' strings for IPQ5424 PCIe controller (Manikanta
     Mylavarapu)

   - If 'global' IRQ is supported for detection of Link Up events, tell
DWC core not to wait for link up (Krishna chaitanya chundru)

  Renesas R-Car PCIe controller driver:

   - Avoid passing stack buffer as resource name (King Dix)

  Rockchip PCIe controller driver:

   - Simplify clock and reset handling by using bulk interfaces (Anand
     Moon)

   - Pass typed rockchip_pcie (not void) pointer to
     rockchip_pcie_disable_clocks() (Anand Moon)

   - Return -ENOMEM, not success, when pci_epc_mem_alloc_addr() fails
     (Dan Carpenter)

  Rockchip DesignWare PCIe controller driver:

   - Use dll_link_up IRQ to detect Link Up and enumerate devices so
users don't have to manually rescan (Niklas Cassel)

   - Tell DWC core not to wait for link up since the 'sys' interrupt is
required and detects Link Up events (Niklas Cassel)

  Synopsys DesignWare PCIe controller driver:

   - Don't wait for link up in DWC core if driver can detect Link Up
     event (Krishna chaitanya chundru)

   - Update ICC and OPP votes after Link Up events (Krishna chaitanya
     chundru)

   - Always stop link in dw_pcie_suspend_noirq(), which is required at
least for i.MX8QM to re-establish link on resume (Richard Zhu)

   - Drop racy and unnecessary LTSSM state check before sending
PME_TURN_OFF message in dw_pcie_suspend_noirq() (Richard Zhu)

   - Add struct of_pci_range.parent_bus_addr for devices that need their
immediate parent bus address, not the CPU address, e.g., to program
an internal Address Translation Unit (iATU) (Frank Li)

  TI DRA7xx PCIe controller driver:

   - Simplify by using syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle_args() instead of
     syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle() followed by
     of_parse_phandle_with_fixed_args() or of_property_read_u32_index()
     (Krzysztof Kozlowski)

Xilinx Versal CPM PCIe controller driver:

   - Add DT binding and driver support for Xilinx Versal CPM5
     (Thippeswamy Havalige)

  MicroSemi Switchtec management driver:

   - Add Microchip PCI100X device IDs (Rakesh Babu Saladi)

  Miscellaneous:

   - Move reset related sysfs code from pci.c to pci-sysfs.c where other
     similar code lives (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Simplify reset_method_store() memory management by using __free()
instead of explicit kfree() cleanup (Ilpo Järvinen)

   - Constify struct bin_attribute for sysfs, VPD, P2PDMA, and the IBM
     ACPI hotplug driver (Thomas Weißschuh)

   - Remove redundant PCI_VSEC_HDR and PCI_VSEC_HDR_LEN_SHIFT (Dongdong
     Zhang)

   - Correct documentation of the 'config_acs=' kernel parameter
     (Akihiko Odaki)"

4644db8364 misc: pci_endpoint_test: Remove redundant 'remainder' test
A BAR size is always a power of two. buf_size = min(SZ_1M, bar_size).
If the BAR size is <= 1MB, there will be one iteration, no remainder.
If the BAR size is > 1MB, there will be more than one iteration, but the
size will always be evenly divisible by 1MB, so no remainder.

d6658d3338 misc: pci_endpoint_test: Add consecutive BAR test
Add a more advanced BAR test that writes all BARs in one go, and then reads
them back and verifies that the value matches the BAR number bitwise OR'ed
with offset, this allows us to verify:

  - The BAR number was what we intended to read
  - The offset was what we intended to read

This allows us to detect potential address translation issues on the EP.

Reading back the BAR directly after writing will not allow us to detect the
case where inbound address translation on the endpoint incorrectly causes
multiple BARs to be redirected to the same memory region (within the EP).

0d292a1e6d misc: pci_endpoint_test: Add support for capabilities
The test BAR is on the EP side is allocated using pci_epf_alloc_space(),
which allocates the backing memory using dma_alloc_coherent(), which will
return zeroed memory regardless of __GFP_ZERO was set or not.

This means that running a new version of pci-endpoint-test.c (host side)
with an old version of pci-epf-test.c (EP side) will not see any
capabilities being set (as intended), so this is backwards compatible.

Additionally, the EP side always allocates at least 128 bytes for the test
BAR (excluding the MSI-X table), this means that adding another register at
offset 0x30 is still within the 128 available bytes.

For now, we only add the CAP_UNALIGNED_ACCESS capability.

If CAP_UNALIGNED_ACCESS is set, that means that the EP side supports
reading/writing to an address without any alignment requirements.

Thus, if CAP_UNALIGNED_ACCESS is set, make sure that the host side does
not add any extra padding to the buffers that we allocate (which was only
done in order to get the buffers to satisfy certain alignment requirements
by the endpoint controller).

0e7d523b5f ntsync: fix a file reference leak in drivers/misc/ntsync.c
struct ntsync_obj contains a reference to struct file
and that reference contributes to refcount - ntsync_alloc_obj()
grabs it. Normally the object is destroyed (and reference
to obj->file dropped) in ntsync_obj_release(). However, in
case of ntsync_obj_get_fd() failure the object is destroyed
directly by its creator.

That case should also drop obj->file; plain kfree(obj)
is not enough there - it ends up leaking struct file * reference.

Take that logics into a helper (ntsync_free_obj()) and
use it in both codepaths that destroy ntsync_obj instances.

6ca4ea1f88 misc: fastrpc: Fix registered buffer page address
For registered buffers, fastrpc driver sends the buffer information
to remote subsystem. There is a problem with current implementation
where the page address is being sent with an offset leading to
improper buffer address on DSP. This is leads to functional failures
as DSP expects base address in page information and extracts offset
information from remote arguments. Mask the offset and pass the base
page address to DSP.

This issue is observed is a corner case when some buffer which is registered
with fastrpc framework is passed with some offset by user and then the DSP
implementation tried to read the data. As DSP expects base address and takes
care of offsetting with remote arguments, passing an offsetted address will
result in some unexpected data read in DSP.

All generic usecases usually pass the buffer as it is hence is problem is
not usually observed. If someone tries to pass offsetted buffer and then
tries to compare data at HLOS and DSP end, then the ambiguity will be observed.

37d56e0fb0 misc: fastrpc: Add support for multiple PD from one process
Memory intensive applications(which requires more tha 4GB) that wants
to offload tasks to DSP might have to split the tasks to multiple
user PD to make the resources available.

For every call to DSP, fastrpc driver passes the process tgid which
works as an identifier for the DSP to enqueue the tasks to specific PD.
With current design, if any process opens device node more than once
and makes PD init request, same tgid will be passed to DSP which will
be considered a bad request and this will result in failure as the same
identifier cannot be used for multiple DSP PD.

Assign and pass a client ID to DSP which would be assigned during device
open and will be dependent on the index of session allocated for the PD.
This will allow the same process to open the device more than once and
spawn multiple dynamic PD for ease of processing.

a138179a59 ntsync: Introduce alertable waits.
NT waits can optionally be made "alertable". This is a special channel for
thread wakeup that is mildly similar to SIGIO. A thread has an internal single
bit of "alerted" state, and if a thread is alerted while an alertable wait, the
wait will return a special value, consume the "alerted" state, and will not
consume any of its objects.

Alerts are implemented using events; the user-space NT emulator is expected to
create an internal ntsync event for each thread and pass that event to wait
functions.

cdbb997822 ntsync: Introduce NTSYNC_IOC_WAIT_ALL.
This is similar to NTSYNC_IOC_WAIT_ANY, but waits until all of the objects are
simultaneously signaled, and then acquires all of them as a single atomic
operation.

Because acquisition of multiple objects is atomic, some complex locking is
required. We cannot simply spin-lock multiple objects simultaneously, as that
may disable preëmption for a problematically long time.

Instead, modifying any object which may be involved in a wait-all operation takes
a device-wide sleeping mutex, "wait_all_lock", instead of the normal object
spinlock.

Because wait-for-all is a rare operation, in order to optimize wait-for-any,
this lock is only taken when necessary. "all_hint" is used to mark objects which
are involved in a wait-for-all operation, and if an object is not, only its
spinlock is taken.

The locking scheme used here was written by Peter Zijlstra.

b4a7b5fe3f ntsync: Introduce NTSYNC_IOC_WAIT_ANY.
This corresponds to part of the functionality of the NT syscall
NtWaitForMultipleObjects(). Specifically, it implements the behaviour where
the third argument (wait_any) is TRUE, and it does not handle alertable waits.
Those features have been split out into separate patches to ease review.

This patch therefore implements the wait/wake infrastructure which comprises the
core of ntsync's functionality.

NTSYNC_IOC_WAIT_ANY is a vectored wait function similar to poll(). Unlike
poll(), it "consumes" objects when they are signaled. For semaphores, this means
decreasing one from the internal counter. At most one object can be consumed by
this function.

This wait/wake model is fundamentally different from that used anywhere else in
the kernel, and for that reason ntsync does not use any existing infrastructure,
such as futexes, kernel mutexes or semaphores, or wait_event().

Up to 64 objects can be waited on at once. As soon as one is signaled, the
object with the lowest index is consumed, and that index is returned via the
"index" field.

A timeout is supported. The timeout is passed as a u64 nanosecond value, which
represents absolute time measured against either the MONOTONIC or REALTIME clock
(controlled by the flags argument). If U64_MAX is passed, the ioctl waits
indefinitely.

This ioctl validates that all objects belong to the relevant device. This is not
necessary for any technical reason related to NTSYNC_IOC_WAIT_ANY, but will be
necessary for NTSYNC_IOC_WAIT_ALL introduced in the following patch.

Some padding fields are added for alignment and for fields which will be added
in future patches (split out to ease review).

Modifying the size of the global bin_attribute instance can be racy.
Instead use the new .bin_size callback to do so safely.

For this to work move the initialization of c2dev->ops before the call

cxl has received minimal maintenance for several years, and is not

Change its MAINTAINERS status to obsolete, update the sysfs ABI

e70140ba0d Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct
The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

  /*
   * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
   * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
   * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
   */

This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.

I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.

Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

2eff01ee28 Char/Misc/IIO/Whatever driver subsystem updates for 6.13-rc1
Here is the "big and hairy" char/misc/iio and other small driver
subsystem updates for 6.13-rc1. Sorry for doing this at the end of the
merge window, conference and holiday travel got in the way on my side
(hence the 5am pull request emails...)

Loads of things in here, and even a fun merge conflict!
   - rust misc driver bindings and other rust changes to make misc
drivers actually possible. I think this is the tipping point,
expect to see way more rust drivers going forward now that these
bindings are present. Next merge window hopefully we will have pci
and platform drivers working, which will fully enable almost all
driver subsystems to start accepting (or at least getting) rust
drivers. This is the end result of a lot of work from a lot of
people, congrats to all of them for getting this far, you've proved
many of us wrong in the best way possible, working code :)
   - IIO driver updates, too many to list individually, that subsystem
     keeps growing and growing...
   - Interconnect driver updates
   - nvmem driver updates
   - pwm driver updates
   - platform_driver::remove() fixups, loads of them
   - counter driver updates
   - misc driver updates (keba?)
   - binder driver updates and fixes
   - loads of other small char/misc/etc driver updates and additions,
     full details in the shortlog.

Note, there is a semi-hairy rust merge conflict when pulling this. The
resolution has been in linux-next for a while and can be seen here:

Here is a small set of driver core changes for 6.13-rc1.

 Included in here are:
   - sysfs core changes and preparations for more sysfs api cleanups that
can come through all driver trees after -rc1 is out
   - fw_devlink fixes based on many reports and debugging sessions
   - list_for_each_reverse() removal, no one was using it!
   - last-minute seq_printf() format string bug found and fixed in many
     drivers all at once.
   - minor bugfixes and changes full details in the shortlog

As mentioned above, there is 2 merge conflicts with your tree, one is
where the file is removed (easy enough to resolve), the second is a
build time error, that has been found in linux-next and the fix can be
 seen here:

f06e108a3d Compiler Attributes: disable __counted_by for clang < 19.1.3
This patch disables __counted_by for clang versions < 19.1.3 because
of the two issues listed below. It does this by introducing
CONFIG_CC_HAS_COUNTED_BY.

1. clang < 19.1.2 has a bug that can lead to __bdos returning 0:
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/110497

2. clang < 19.1.3 has a bug that can lead to __bdos being off by 4:
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/112636

7d6f7cfc34 Reset controller updates for v6.13
* Split the Amlogic reset-meson driver into platform and auxiliary
bus drivers. Add support for the reset controller in the G12 and
   SM1 audio clock controllers.
 * Replace the list of boolean parameters to the internal
reset_control_get functions with an enum reset_flags bitfield,
to make the code more self-descriptive.
 * Add devres helpers to request pre-deasserted (and automatically
re-asserting during cleanup) reset controls. This allows reducing
boilerplate in drivers that deassert resets for the lifetime of a
   device.
 * Use the new auto-deasserting devres helpers in reset-uniphier-glue
   as an example.
 * Add support for the LAN966x PCI device in drivers/misc, as a
dependency for the following reset-microchip-sparx5 patches.
 * Add support for being used on the LAN966x PCI device to the
   reset-microchip-sparx5 driver.

Commit 86f134941a ("MAINTAINERS: Add the Microchip LAN966x PCI driver
entry") introduces a trivial merge conflict with commit 7280f01e79
("net: lan969x: add match data for lan969x") from the net-next tree [1].

Reset controller updates for v6.13

49988a7975 mei: vsc: Do not re-enable interrupt from vsc_tp_reset()
The only 2 callers of vsc_tp_reset() are:

1. mei_vsc_hw_reset(), which immediataly calls vsc_tp_intr_disable()
   afterwards.

2. vsc_tp_shutdown() which immediately calls free_irq() afterwards.

So neither actually wants the interrupt to be enabled after resetting
the chip and having the interrupt enabled for a short time afer
the reset is undesirable.

Drop the enable_irq() call from vsc_tp_reset(), so that the interrupt
is left disabled after vsc_tp_reset().

cf3e10cc0e misc: lan966x_pci: Fix dtc warn 'Missing interrupt-parent'

overlay (lan966x_pci.dtso):
  Warning (interrupts_property): /fragment@0/__overlay__/pci-ep-bus@0/oic@e00c0120: Missing interrupt-parent

The oic interrupt parent is the PCI device itself. The PCI device node
is the node on which the dtbo will be applied and this node already has
properties needed.

In order to remove the warning, add the missing properties in the
overlay fragment node. Properties in this node will not be added when
the overlay is applied (which is what we expect) but makes dtc happy.

185686beb4 misc: Add support for LAN966x PCI device
Add a PCI driver that handles the LAN966x PCI device using a device-tree
overlay. This overlay is applied to the PCI device DT node and allows to
describe components that are present in the device.

The memory from the device-tree is remapped to the BAR memory thanks to
"ranges" properties computed at runtime by the PCI core during the PCI
enumeration.

The PCI device itself acts as an interrupt controller and is used as the
parent of the internal LAN966x interrupt controller to route the
interrupts to the assigned PCI INTx interrupt.

339cb28b9e eeprom: at24: add ST M24256E Additional Write lockable page support
The ST M24256E behaves as a regular M24C256, except for the E variant
which uses up another I2C address for Additional Write lockable page.
This page is 64 Bytes long and can contain additional data. Add entry
for it, so users can describe that page in DT. Note that users still
have to describe the main M24C256 area separately as that is on separate
I2C address from this page.

Unlike M24C32-D and M24C64-D, this part is specifically ST and does not
have any comparable M24* counterparts from other vendors, hence the st,
vendor prefix. Furthermore, the part name is M24256E without C between
the 24 and 256, this is not a typo. Finally, there is M24C256-D part,
which does contain 32 Bytes long Additional Write lockable page, which
is a different part and not supported by this patch.

c6576d9195 misc: keba: Support EEPROM sections as separate devices
The main EEPROM of KEBA CP500 devices is divided into two sections. One
section for type label data like device name, order number, serial
number and so on. The second section is reserved for arbitrary data
stored by the user.

The two sections have a defined range. The first 3 kB for the type label
and the remaining 1 kB for user data. The type label is written during
production and can fill up the whole 3 kB. Thus, the range is fixed and
cannot be changed dynamically.

The two sections cannot be presented as NVMEM cells. A NVMEM cell is
always read and written at once, because the data presented to the user
can differ from the data stored in the physical NVMEM cell. Thus, NVMEM
cells would lead to reading 3 kB for every type label access, even if
only the device name is read. So performance would suffer. But it is
also an indication that NVMEM cells are designed for small data cells
within NVMEM devices.

Register separate NVMEM devices for every section. This enables safe
access to every section. Also different access rights are then possible.

7738a7ab9d misc: eeprom: eeprom_93cx6: Add quirk for extra read clock cycle
Add a quirk similar to eeprom_93xx46 to add an extra clock cycle before
reading data from the EEPROM.

The 93Cx6 family of EEPROMs output a "dummy 0 bit" between the writing
of the op-code/address from the host to the EEPROM and the reading of
the actual data from the EEPROM.

More info can be found on page 6 of the AT93C46 datasheet (linked below).
Similar notes are found in other 93xx6 datasheets.

In summary the read operation for a 93Cx6 EEPROM is:
Write to EEPROM:	110[A5-A0]	(9 bits)
Read from EEPROM:	0[D15-D0]	(17 bits)

Where:
110 is the start bit and READ OpCode
[A5-A0] is the address to read from
0 is a "dummy bit" preceding the actual data
	[D15-D0] is the actual data.

Looking at the READ timing diagrams in the 93Cx6 datasheets the dummy
bit should be clocked out on the last address bit clock cycle meaning it
should be discarded naturally.

However, depending on the hardware configuration sometimes this dummy
bit is not discarded. This is the case with Exar PCI UARTs which require
an extra clock cycle between sending the address and reading the data.

cb787f4ac0 [tree-wide] finally take no_llseek out
no_llseek had been defined to NULL two years ago, in commit 868941b144
("fs: remove no_llseek")

To quote that commit,

  At -rc1 we'll need do a mechanical removal of no_llseek -

  git grep -l -w no_llseek | grep -v porting.rst | while read i; do
	sed -i '/\<no_llseek\>/d' $i
  done

  would do it.

Unfortunately, that hadn't been done. Linus, could you do that now, so
that we could finally put that thing to rest? All instances are of the
form
	.llseek = no_llseek,
so it's obviously safe.

   - lots and lots of new IIO drivers and updates to existing ones
   - interconnect subsystem updates and new drivers
   - nvmem subsystem updates and new drivers
   - mhi driver updates
   - power supply subsystem updates
   - kobj_type const work for many different small subsystems

   - coresight subsystem and driver updates
   - fpga subsystem improvements
   - slimbus fixups
   - binder new feature addition for "frozen" notifications
   - lots and lots of other small driver updates and cleanups

0bad57708d ocxl: Remove the unused declarations in headr file
The definition of ocxl_create_cdev() and ocxl_destroy_cdev() has been
removed since commit 75ca758adb ("ocxl: Create a clear delineation
between ocxl backend & frontend"). So, let's remove the empty declarations.

5c09cfa5d2 cxl: Constify struct kobj_type
This 'struct kobj_type' is not modified. It is only used in
kobject_init_and_add() which takes a 'const struct kobj_type *ktype'
parameter.

Constifying this structure and moving it to a read-only section,
and can increase over all security.

5854809b51 rpmb: fix error path in rpmb_dev_register()
Until this patch was rpmb_dev_register() always freeing rdev in the error
path. However, past device_register() it must not do that since the memory
is now managed by the device even if it failed to register properly. So fix
this by doing a put_device() before returning the error code.

Fixes the smatch warning:
        drivers/misc/rpmb-core.c:204 rpmb_dev_register()
warn: freeing device managed memory (leak): 'rdev'

48b9a8dabc VMCI: Fix use-after-free when removing resource in vmci_resource_remove()
When removing a resource from vmci_resource_table in
vmci_resource_remove(), the search is performed using the resource
handle by comparing context and resource fields.

It is possible though to create two resources with different types
but same handle (same context and resource fields).

When trying to remove one of the resources, vmci_resource_remove()
may not remove the intended one, but the object will still be freed
as in the case of the datagram type in vmci_datagram_destroy_handle().
vmci_resource_table will still hold a pointer to this freed resource
leading to a use-after-free vulnerability.
