- Convert init_timer*(), try_to_del_timer_sync() and
    destroy_timer_on_stack() over to the canonical timer_*() namespace
    convention.
 
 There are is another large converstion pending, which has not been included
 because it would have caused a gazillion of merge conflicts in next. The
 conversion scripts will be run towards the end of the merge window and a
 pull request sent once all conflict dependencies have been merged.

44ed0f35df Updates for the MSI subsystem (core code and PCI):
- Switch the MSI decriptor locking to lock guards
 
   - Replace a broken and naive implementation of PCI/MSI-X control word
     updates in the PCI/TPH driver with a properly serialized variant in the
     PCI/MSI core code.
 
   - Remove the MSI descriptor abuse in the SCCI/UFS/QCOM driver by
     replacing the direct access to the MSI descriptors with the proper API
     function calls. People will never understand that APIs exist for a
     reason...
 
   - Provide core infrastructre for the upcoming PCI endpoint library
     extensions. Currently limited to ARM GICv3+, but in theory extensible
     to other architectures.
 
   - Provide a MSI domain::teardown() callback, which allows drivers to undo
     the effects of the prepare() callback.
 
   - Move the MSI domain::prepare() callback invocation to domain creation
     time to avoid redundant (and in case of ARM/GIC-V3-ITS confusing)
     invocations on every allocation.
 
     In combination with the new teardown callback this removes some ugly
     hacks in the GIC-V3-ITS driver, which pretended to work around the
     short comings of the core code so far. With this update the code is
     correct by design and implementation.
 
   - Make the irqchip MSI library globally available, provide a MSI parent
     domain creation helper and convert a bunch of (PCI/)MSI drivers over to
     the modern MSI parent mechanism. This is the first step to get rid of
     at least one incarnation of the three PCI/MSI management schemes.

06526443a3 irqchip/msi-lib: Honour the MSI_FLAG_NO_AFFINITY flag
Bad MSI implementations multiplex MSIs onto a single downstream interrupt,
meaning they have no concept of individual affinity.

The old MSI code did a reasonable job at this by honouring the
MSI_FLAG_NO_AFFINITY, but the new shiny device MSI code doesn't.

Teach it about the sad reality of existing hardware.

b35961ce0a irqchip/mvebu: Convert to msi_create_parent_irq_domain() helper
Switch the MVEBU family of interrupt chip drivers over to the common helper

affdc0d1bd irqchip: Switch to irq_domain_create_*()
irq_domain_add_*() interfaces are going away as being obsolete now.
Switch to the preferred irq_domain_create_*() ones. Those differ in the
node parameter: They take more generic struct fwnode_handle instead of
struct device_node. Therefore, of_fwnode_handle() is added around the
original parameter.

Note some of the users can likely use dev->fwnode directly instead of
indirect of_fwnode_handle(dev->of_node). But dev->fwnode is not
guaranteed to be set for all, so this has to be investigated on case to
case basis (by people who can actually test with the HW).

f1a3fac409 irqchip/gic-v4.1: Use local 4_1 ITS to generate VSGI
On multi-node GICv4.1 system, VSGI senders always use one certain 4_1 ITS,
because find_4_1_its() returns the first its_node in the list, regardless of
which node the VSGI sender is on. This brings guest VSGI performance drop
when VM is not running on the same node as this returned ITS.

On a 2-socket environment, each with one ITS and 32 cpu, GICv4.1 enabled,
4U8G guest, 4 vcpu is running on same socket.

  When the VM is on socket0, kvm-unit-tests ipi_hw result is 850ns.
  When the VM is on socket1, it is 750ns.

The reason is that the VSGI sender always uses the last reported ITS (that
on socket1) to inject VSGI. The access from a CPU to a other-socket ITS
will cost 100ns more compared to an access to the local ITS.

Using the local ITS results in a 12% reduction in IPI latency.

Modify find_4_1_its() to return the first per-CPU local_4_1_its, which is
initialized when the VPE table is inherited from the ITS or from another
CPU.  If it fails to find a local 4_1 ITS, it returns any 4_1 ITS like
before.

When starting the local sync timer to synchronize the state of a remote
CPU it should be added on the CPU to be synchronized, not the initiating
CPU. This results in interrupt delivery being delayed until the timer

On the Renesas RZ/V2H(P) family of SoCs, DMAC IPs are connected
to the Interrupt Control Unit (ICU).
For DMA transfers, a request number must be registered with the
ICU, which means that the DMAC driver has to be able to instruct
the ICU driver with the registration of such id.

Export rzv2h_icu_register_dma_req() so that the DMAC driver can
register the DMAC request number.

713335b6ee irqchip/gic-v3-its: Implement .msi_teardown() callback
The ITS driver currently nukes the structure representing an endpoint
device translating via an ITS on freeing the last LPI allocated for it.

That's an unfortunate state of affair, as it is pretty common for a driver
to allocate a single MSI, do something clever, teardown this MSI, and
reallocate a whole bunch of them. The NVME driver does exactly that,
amongst others.

What happens in that case is that the core code is accidentaly issuing
another .msi_prepare() call, even if it shouldn't.  This luckily cancels
the above behaviour and hides the problem.

In order to fix the core code, start by implementing the new
.msi_teardown() callback. Nothing calls it yet, so a side effect is that
the its_dev structure will not be freed and that the DID will stay
mapped. Not a big deal, and this will be solved in following patches.

f1680d9081 irqchip/gic-v3-its: Add support for device tree msi-map and msi-mask
Some platform devices create child devices dynamically and require the
parent device's msi-map to map device IDs to actual sideband information.

A typical use case is using ITS as a PCIe Endpoint Controller(EPC)'s
doorbell function, where PCI hosts send TLP memory writes to the EP
controller. The EP controller converts these writes to AXI transactions
and appends platform-specific sideband information.

EPC's DTS will provide such information by msi-map and msi-mask. A
simplified dts as

pcie-ep@10000000 {
	...
	msi-map = <0 &its 0xc 8>;
                          ^^^ 0xc is implement defined sideband information,
			      which append to AXI write transaction.
	           ^ 0 is function index.

	msi-mask = <0x7>
}

Check msi-map if msi-parent missed to keep compatility with existing systems.

49f92d3859 irqchip/irq-vt8500: Use a dedicated chained handler function
Current code for the chained interrupt controller maps its interrupts on
the parent but doesn't register a separate chained handler, instead
needlessly calling enable_irq() on an unactivated parent interrupt, causing
a boot time WARN_ON from the common code.

The common handler meanwhile loops through all registered interrupt
controllers in an arbitrary order and tries to handle active interrupts
in each of them, which is fragile.

Use common infrastructure for handling chained interrupts instead.

VT8500 chained controller can route its interrupts to either or all
of its 8 interrupt outputs. Current code actually routes all of them
to the first output, so there is no need to create mappings for all
eight.

interrupts as are defined in the device tree.

22111fdf11 irqchip/irq-vt8500: Split up ack/mask functions
vt8500_irq_mask() really does the ACK for edge triggered interrupts and the
MASK for level triggered interrupts.  Edge triggered interrupts never
really are masked as a result, and there is unnecessary reading of the
status register before the ACK even though it's write-one-to-clear.

Split it up into a proper standalone vt8500_irq_ack() and an unconditional
vt8500_irq_mask().

No Fixes tag added, as it has survived this way for 15 years and nobody
complained, so apparently nothing really used edge triggered interrupts
anyway.

38a05c0b87 irqchip/qcom-mpm: Prevent crash when trying to handle non-wake GPIOs
On Qualcomm chipsets not all GPIOs are wakeup capable. Those GPIOs do not
have a corresponding MPM pin and should not be handled inside the MPM
driver. The IRQ domain hierarchy is always applied, so it's required to
explicitly disconnect the hierarchy for those. The pinctrl-msm driver marks
these with GPIO_NO_WAKE_IRQ. qcom-pdc has a check for this, but
irq-qcom-mpm is currently missing the check. This is causing crashes when

automatically enabled when ARCH_BCM2835 is enabled and depends on

ARCH_BCM2835 shares drivers with ARCH_BRCMSTB platforms, but Raspberry PI5
does not require the BRCMSTB specific drivers, which are selected via
ARCH_BRCMSTB.

bad2094e3b irqchip/sg2042-msi: Introduce configurable chipinfo for SG2042
As the controller on SG2044 uses different msi_parent_ops and a difffernt
irq_chip, it is necessary to provide that information to the probe function.

Add a new chipinfo structure to hold that information, implement the
necessary logic and make SG2042 use it.

b00bee8afa irqchip: Convert generic irqchip locking to guards
Conversion was done with Coccinelle and a few manual fixups.

In a few interrupt chip callbacks this changes replaces
raw_spin_lock_irqsave() with a guard(raw_spinlock). That's intended and
correct because those interrupt chip callbacks are invoked with the
interrupt descriptor lock held and interrupts disabled. No point in using
the irqsave variant.

No functional change.

305825d09b irqchip/sg2042-msi: Add missing chip flags
The sg2042-msi driver uses the fallback callbacks set by
msi_lib_init_dev_msi_info(). commit 1c000dcaad ("irqchip/irq-msi-lib:
Optionally set default irq_eoi()/irq_ack()") changed the behavior of the
fallback mechanism by making it opt-in.

The sg2042-msi was not fixed up for this, which causes a NULL pointer
dereference due to the missing irq_ack() callback.

Add the missing chip flag to msi_parent_ops.

7db5fd6b75 irqchip/imx-irqsteer: Support up to 960 input interrupts
The irqsteer IP routes groups of input interrupts to a dedicated system
interrupt per group. Each group handles 64 input interrupts.

The current driver is limited to 8 groups, i.e. 512 input interrupts, which
is sufficient for the existing i.MX SoCs. The upcoming i.MX94 family
extends the irqsteer IP to 15 groups, i.e. 960 interrupts.

Extending the group limit to 15 enables this, but the new SoCs are not
guaranteed to utilize all 15 groups. Unused groups have no mapping for the
underlying output interrupt, which makes the probe function fail as it
expects a valid mapping for each group output.

Remove this limitation and stop the mapping loop, when no valid mapping is
detected.

922ac17c7b irqchip/sunxi-nmi: Support Allwinner A523 NMI controller
The NMI controller in the Allwinner A523 is almost compatible to the
previous versions of this IP, but requires the extra bit 31 to be set in
the enable register to actually report the NMI.

Add a mask to allow such an enable bit to be specified, and add this to
the per-SoC data structure. As this struct was just for different register
offsets so far, it was consequently named "reg_offs", which is now no
longer applicable, so rename this to the more generic "data" on the way,
and move the existing offsets into a struct of its own.

Also add the respective Allwinner A523 compatible string, and set bit 31
in its enable mask, to add support for this SoC.

Add support for the RZ/G3E driver by filling the rzv2h_hw_info table and
adding LUT for mapping between pin index and TINT selection index.

On RZ/G3E, TSSEL register field is 8 bits wide compared to 7 on RZ/V2H.
Also bits 8..14 is reserved on RZ/G3E and any writes on these reserved
bits is ignored.

Use bitmask GENMASK(field_width - 2, 0) on both SoCs for extracting TSSEL
and then update the macros ICU_TSSR_TSSEL_PREP and ICU_TSSR_TSSEL_MASK for
supporting both SoCs.

irqchip: Add Broadcom BCM2712 MSI-X interrupt controller
Add an interrupt controller driver for MSI-X Interrupt Peripheral (MIP)
hardware block found in BCM2712. The interrupt controller is used to
handle MSI-X interrupts from peripherials behind PCIe endpoints like
RPi1 south bridge found in RPi5.

There are two MIPs on BCM2712, the first has 64 consecutive SPIs
assigned to 64 output vectors, and the second has 17 SPIs, but only
8 of them are consecutive starting at the 8th output vector.

96093fe54f irqchip: Have CONFIG_IRQ_MSI_IOMMU be selected by irqchips that need it
Currently, IRQ_MSI_IOMMU is selected if DMA_IOMMU is available to provide
an implementation for iommu_dma_prepare/compose_msi_msg(). However, it'll
make more sense for irqchips that call prepare/compose to select it, and
that will trigger all the additional code and data to be compiled into
the kernel.

If IRQ_MSI_IOMMU is selected with no IOMMU side implementation, then the
prepare/compose() will be NOP stubs.

If IRQ_MSI_IOMMU is not selected by an irqchip, then the related code on
the iommu side is compiled out.

9349887e93 genirq/msi: Refactor iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg()
The two-step process to translate the MSI address involves two functions,
iommu_dma_prepare_msi() and iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg().

Previously iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg() needed to be in the iommu layer as
it had to dereference the opaque cookie pointer. Now, the previous patch
changed the cookie pointer into an integer so there is no longer any need
for the iommu layer to be involved.

Further, the call sites of iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg() all follow the same
pattern of setting an MSI message address_hi/lo to non-translated and then
immediately calling iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg().

Refactor iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg() into msi_msg_set_addr() that directly
accepts the u64 version of the address and simplifies all the callers.

Move the new helper to linux/msi.h since it has nothing to do with iommu.

Aside from refactoring, this logically prepares for the next patch, which
allows multiple implementation options for iommu_dma_prepare_msi(). So, it
does not make sense to have the iommu_dma_compose_msi_msg() in dma-iommu.c
as it no longer provides the only iommu_dma_prepare_msi() implementation.

Rockchip RK3566/RK3568 GIC600 integration has DDR addressing
limited to the first 32bit of physical address space. Rockchip
assigned Erratum ID #3568002 for this issue. Add driver quirk for
this Rockchip GIC Erratum.

Note, that the 0x0201743b GIC600 ID is not Rockchip-specific and is
common for many ARM GICv3 implementations. Hence, there is an extra
of_machine_is_compatible() check.

e9a48ea4d9 irqchip/qcom-pdc: Workaround hardware register bug on X1E80100
On X1E80100, there is a hardware bug in the register logic of the
IRQ_ENABLE_BANK register: While read accesses work on the normal address,
all write accesses must be made to a shifted address. Without a workaround
for this, the wrong interrupt gets enabled in the PDC and it is impossible
to wakeup from deep suspend (CX collapse). This has not caused problems so
far, because the deep suspend state was not enabled. A workaround is
required now since work is ongoing to fix this.

The PDC has multiple "DRV" regions, each one has a size of 0x10000 and
provides the same set of registers for a particular client in the system.
Linux is one the clients and uses DRV region 2 on X1E. Each "bank" inside
the DRV region consists of 32 interrupt pins that can be enabled using the
IRQ_ENABLE_BANK register:

  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[bank] = base + IRQ_ENABLE_BANK + bank * sizeof(u32)

On X1E, this works as intended for read access. However, write access to
most banks is shifted by 2:

  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[0] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[-2]
  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[1] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[-1]
  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[2] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[0] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[2 - 2]
  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[3] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[1] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[3 - 2]
  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[4] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[2] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[4 - 2]
  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[5] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[5] (this one works as intended)

The negative indexes underflow to banks of the previous DRV/client region:

  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[drv 2][bank 0] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 2][bank -2]
                                     = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 1][bank 5-2]
                                     = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 1][bank 3]

  IRQ_ENABLE_BANK_X1E[drv 2][bank 1] = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 2][bank -1]
                                     = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 1][bank 5-1]
                                     = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 1][bank 4]
                                     = IRQ_ENABLE_BANK[drv 1][bank 1 + 3]

Introduce a workaround for the bug by matching the qcom,x1e80100-pdc
compatible and apply the offsets as shown above:

 - Bank 0...1: previous DRV region, bank += 3
 - Bank 1...4: our DRV region, bank -= 2
 - Bank 5: our DRV region, no fixup required

The PDC node in the device tree only describes the DRV region for the Linux
client, but the workaround also requires to map parts of the previous DRV
region to issue writes there. To maintain compatibility with old device
trees, obtain the base address of the preceeding region by applying the
-0x10000 offset. Note that this is also more correct from a conceptual
point of view:

It does not really make use of the other region; it just issues shifted
writes that end up in the registers of the Linux associated DRV region 2.

896f8e436f irqchip/riscv-imsic: Special handling for non-atomic device MSI update
Devices, which have a non-atomic MSI update, might see an intermediate
state when changing the target IMSIC vector from one CPU to another.

To avoid losing interrupts due to this intermediate state, do the following
just like x86 APIC:

 1) First write a temporary IMSIC vector to the device which has the same
    MSI address as the old IMSIC vector and MSI data pointing to the new
    IMSIC vector.

 2) Next write the new IMSIC vector to the device.

Based on the above, the __imsic_local_sync() must check pending status of
both old MSI data and new MSI data on the old CPU. In addition, the
movement of IMSIC vector for non-atomic device MSI update must be done in
interrupt context using IRQCHIP_MOVE_DEFERRED.

Implememnt the logic and enforce the chip flag for PCI/MSI[X].

Currently, there is only one "move" pointer in struct imsic_vector so
during vector movement the old vector points to the new vector and new
vector points to itself.

To support forced cleanup of the old vector, add separate "move_next" and
"move_prev" pointers to struct imsic_vector, where during vector movement
the "move_next" pointer of the old vector points to the new vector and the
"move_prev" pointer of the new vector points to the old vector.

Both "move_next" and "move_prev" pointers are cleared separately by
__imsic_local_sync() with a restriction that "move_prev" on the new
CPU is cleared only after the old CPU has cleared "move_next".

msi_lib_init_dev_msi_info() sets the default irq_eoi()/irq_ack() callbacks
unconditionally. This is correct for all existing users, but prevents the
IMSIC driver to be moved to the MSI library implementation.

Introduce chip_flags in struct msi_parent_ops, which instruct the library
to selectively set the callbacks depending on the flags, and update all
current users to set them.

999f458c17 irqchip/riscv-imsic: Set irq_set_affinity() for IMSIC base
The IMSIC driver assigns the IMSIC domain specific imsic_irq_set_affinity()
callback to the per device leaf MSI domain. That's a layering violation as
it is called with the leaf domain data and not with the IMSIC domain
data. This prevents moving the IMSIC driver to the common MSI library which
uses the generic msi_domain_set_affinity() callback for device MSI domains.

Instead of using imsic_irq_set_affinity() for leaf MSI domains, use
imsic_irq_set_affinity() for the non-leaf IMSIC base domain and use
irq_chip_set_affinity_parent() for leaf MSI domains.

d7e3fd6582 irqchip/jcore-aic, clocksource/drivers/jcore: Fix jcore-pit interrupt request
The jcore-aic irqchip does not have separate interrupt numbers reserved for
cpu-local vs global interrupts. Therefore the device drivers need to
request the given interrupt as per CPU interrupt.

69a9dcbd2d ("clocksource/drivers/jcore: Use request_percpu_irq()")
converted the clocksource driver over to request_percpu_irq(), but failed
to do add all the required changes, resulting in a failure to register PIT
interrupts.

Fix this by:

 1) Explicitly mark the interrupt via irq_set_percpu_devid() in
    jcore_pit_init().

 2) Enable and disable the per CPU interrupt in the CPU hotplug callbacks.

 3) Pass the correct per-cpu cookie to the irq handler by using
    handle_percpu_devid_irq() instead of handle_percpu_irq() in
    handle_jcore_irq().

4cb7779384 irqchip/gic-v3: Fix rk3399 workaround when secure interrupts are enabled
Christoph reports that their rk3399 system dies since commit 773c05f417
("irqchip/gic-v3: Work around insecure GIC integrations").

It appears that some rk3399 have secure payloads, and that the firmware
sets SCR_EL3.FIQ==1. Obivously, disabling security in that configuration
leads to even more problems.

Revisit the workaround by:

  - making it rk3399 specific
  - checking whether Group-0 is available, which is a good proxy
    for SCR_EL3.FIQ being 0
  - either apply the workaround if Group-0 is available, or disable
    pseudo-NMIs if not

RISC-V APLIC specification defines "hart index" in:

Within a given interrupt domain, each of the domain’s harts has a unique
index number in the range 0 to 2^14 − 1 (= 16,383). The index number a
domain associates with a hart may or may not have any relationship to the
unique hart identifier (“hart ID”) that the RISC-V Privileged Architecture
assigns to the hart. Two different interrupt domains may employ entirely
different index numbers for the same set of harts.

Further, this document says in "4.5 Memory-mapped control region for an
interrupt domain":

The array of IDC structures may include some for potential hart index
numbers that are not actual hart index numbers in the domain. For example,
the first IDC structure is always for hart index 0, but 0 is not
necessarily a valid index number for any hart in the domain.

Support arbitrary hart indices specified in an optional APLIC property
"riscv,hart-indexes" which is specified as an array of u32 elements, one
per interrupt target. If this property is not specified, fallback to use
logical hart indices within the domain.

698244bbb3 irqchip/apple-aic: Only handle PMC interrupt as FIQ when configured so
The CPU PMU in Apple SoCs can be configured to fire its interrupt in one of
several ways, and since Apple A11 one of the methods is FIQ, but the check
of the configuration register fails to test explicitely for FIQ mode. It
tests whether the IMODE bitfield is zero or not and the PMCRO_IACT bit is
set. That results in false positives when the IMODE bitfield is not zero,
but does not have the mode PMCR0_IMODE_FIQ.

Only handle the PMC interrupt as a FIQ when the CPU PMU has been configured
to fire FIQs, i.e. the IMODE bitfield value is PMCR0_IMODE_FIQ and
PMCR0_IACT is set.

987f379b54 irqchip/irq-mvebu-icu: Fix access to msi_data from irq_domain::host_data
mvebu_icu_translate() incorrectly casts irq_domain::host_data directly to
mvebu_icu_msi_data. However, host_data actually points to a structure of
type msi_domain_info.

This incorrect cast causes issues such as the thermal sensors of the
CP110 platform malfunctioning. Specifically, the translation of the SEI
interrupt to IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_RISING fails, preventing proper interrupt
handling. The following error was observed:

Resolve the issue by first casting host_data to msi_domain_info and then

825c78e6a6 irqchip/riscv: Ensure ordering of memory writes and IPI writes
RISC-V distinguishes between memory accesses and device I/O and uses FENCE
instruction to order them as viewed by other RISC-V harts and external
devices or coprocessors. The FENCE instruction can order any combination of
device input(I), device output(O), memory reads(R) and memory
writes(W). For example, 'fence w, o' is used to ensure all memory writes
from instructions preceding the FENCE instruction appear earlier in the
global memory order than device output writes from instructions after the
FENCE instruction.

RISC-V issues IPIs by writing to the IMSIC/ACLINT MMIO registers, which is
regarded as device output operation. However, the existing implementation
of the IMSIC/ACLINT drivers issue the IPI via writel_relaxed(), which does
not guarantee the order of device output operation and preceding memory
writes. As a consequence the hart receiving the IPI might not observe the
IPI related data.

Fix this by replacing writel_relaxed() with writel() when issuing IPIs,
which uses 'fence w, o' to ensure all previous writes made by the current
hart are visible to other harts before they receive the IPI.

9322d1915f irqchip: Plug a OF node reference leak in platform_irqchip_probe()
platform_irqchip_probe() leaks a OF node when irq_init_cb() fails. Fix it
by declaring par_np with the __free(device_node) cleanup construct.

This bug was found by an experimental static analysis tool that I am
developing.

2af2573884 irqchip/loongarch-avec: Add multi-nodes topology support
avecintc_init() enables the Advanced Interrupt Controller (AVEC) of
the boot CPU node, but nothing enables the AVEC on secondary nodes.

Move the enablement to the CPU hotplug callback so that secondary nodes get
the AVEC enabled too. In theory enabling it once per node would be
sufficient, but redundant enabling does no hurt, so keep the code simple
and do it unconditionally.
