Revert "drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HELPER to depends on"
This reverts commit e075e496f5, as helper
code should always be selected by the driver that needs it, for the
convenience of the final user configuring a kernel.

The user who configures a kernel should not need to know which helpers
are needed for the driver he is interested in. Making a driver depend
on helper code means that the user needs to know which helpers to enable
first, which is very user-unfriendly.

drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER to depends on
Most of our helpers have relied on being selected so far through
Kconfig, but that creates issues when we have multiple layers of helpers
with some depending on others.

Indeed, select doesn't select a dependency's dependencies, and thus
isn't super intuitive. Depends on however doesn't have that limitation,
so we can just switch all the drivers that were selecting
DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER to depend on it.

drm/display: Make DisplayPort AUX bus Kconfig name consistent
While most display helpers Kconfig symbols have the DRM_DISPLAY prefix,
the DisplayPort AUX bus implementation uses DRM_DP_AUX_BUS.

Since the number of users is limited and it's a selected symbol, we can
easily rename it to make it consistent.

fae6e669cd drm/tegra: Do not assume that a NULL domain means no DMA IOMMU
Previously with tegra-smmu, even with CONFIG_IOMMU_DMA, the default domain
could have been left as NULL. The NULL domain is specially recognized by
host1x_client_iommu_attach() as meaning it is not the DMA domain and
should be replaced with the special shared domain.

This happened prior to the below commit because tegra-smmu was using the
NULL domain to mean IDENTITY.

Now that the domain is properly labled the test in DRM doesn't see NULL.
Check for IDENTITY as well to enable the special domains.

62fa0a985e drm/tegra: Enable runtime PM during probe
Currently, engine drivers only enable runtime PM during the host1x
init callback. This can happen slightly later than the probe, which
can cause the power domain to intermittently not be turned off after
probe.

My hypothesis is that there is a race condition between the post-probe
power domain poweroff that is done from a queued work, and the
pm_runtime_enable call happening in the host1x init callback.
If the pm_runtime_enable call happens first, everything is OK and
the power off work can disable the power domain as PM runtime is
enabled and the device is runtime suspended. If power off work runs
first, PM runtime is still disabled for the device and the domain
must be kept powered.

Resolve the issue by moving the runtime PM enablement to the
probe function.

As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h

replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to

27655b9bb9 drm/client: Send hotplug event after registering a client
Generate a hotplug event after registering a client to allow the
client to configure its display. Remove the hotplug calls from the
existing clients for fbdev emulation. This change fixes a concurrency
bug between registering a client and receiving events from the DRM
core. The bug is present in the fbdev emulation of all drivers.

The fbdev emulation currently generates a hotplug event before
registering the client to the device. For each new output, the DRM
core sends an additional hotplug event to each registered client.

If the DRM core detects first output between sending the artificial
hotplug and registering the device, the output's hotplug event gets
lost. If this is the first output, the fbdev console display remains
dark. This has been observed with amdgpu and fbdev-generic.

Fix this by adding hotplug generation directly to the client's
register helper drm_client_register(). Registering the client and
receiving events are serialized by struct drm_device.clientlist_mutex.
So an output is either configured by the initial hotplug event, or
the client has already been registered.

The bug was originally added in commit 6e3f17ee73 ("drm/fb-helper:
generic: Call drm_client_add() after setup is done"), in which adding
a client and receiving a hotplug event switched order. It was hidden,
as most hardware and drivers have at least on static output configured.
Other drivers didn't use the internal DRM client or still had struct
drm_mode_config_funcs.output_poll_changed set. That callback handled
hotplug events as well. After not setting the callback in amdgpu in
commit 0e3172bac3 ("drm/amdgpu: Don't set struct
drm_driver.output_poll_changed"), amdgpu did not show a framebuffer
console if output events got lost. The bug got copy-pasted from
fbdev-generic into the other fbdev emulation.

11f38236f7 drm: Don't assert held reservation lock for dma-buf mmapping
Don't assert held dma-buf reservation lock on memory mapping of exported
buffer.

We're going to change dma-buf mmap() locking policy such that exporters
will have to handle the lock. The previous locking policy caused deadlock
problem for DRM drivers in a case of self-imported dma-bufs once these
drivers are moved to use reservation lock universally. The problem is
solved by moving the lock down to exporters. This patch prepares DRM
drivers for the locking policy update.

Maxime Ripard
3867497d64 drm/tegra: sor: Add a determine_rate hook
The Tegra sor pad clock implements a mux with a set_parent hook, but
doesn't provide a determine_rate implementation.

This is a bit odd, since set_parent() is there to, as its name implies,
change the parent of a clock. However, the most likely candidates to
trigger that parent change are either the assigned-clock-parents device
tree property or a call to clk_set_rate(), with determine_rate()
figuring out which parent is the best suited for a given rate.

The other trigger would be a call to clk_set_parent(), but it's far less
used, and it doesn't look like there's any obvious user for that clock.

Similarly, it doesn't look like the device tree using that clock driver
uses any of the assigned-clock properties on that clock.

So, the set_parent hook is effectively unused, possibly because of an
oversight. However, it could also be an explicit decision by the
original author to avoid any reparenting but through an explicit call to
clk_set_parent().

The latter case would be equivalent to setting the determine_rate
implementation to clk_hw_determine_rate_no_reparent(). Indeed, if no
determine_rate implementation is provided, clk_round_rate() (through
clk_core_round_rate_nolock()) will call itself on the parent if
CLK_SET_RATE_PARENT is set, and will not change the clock rate
otherwise.

And if it was an oversight, then we are at least explicit about our
behavior now and it can be further refined down the line.

e1d49d763e drm/tegra: Use regular fbdev I/O helpers
Use the regular fbdev helpers for framebuffer I/O instead of DRM's
helpers. Tegra does not use damage handling, so DRM's fbdev helpers
are mere wrappers around the fbdev code.

By using fbdev helpers directly within each DRM fbdev emulation,
we can eventually remove DRM's wrapper functions entirely.

8904a1e20b drm/tegra: Changes for v6.4-rc1
The majority of this is minor cleanups and fixes. Other than those, this
contains Uwe's conversion to the new driver remove callback and Thomas'
fbdev DRM client conversion. The driver can now also be built on other
 architectures to easy compile coverage.

Finally, this adds Mikko as a second maintainer for the driver. As a
next step we also want Tegra DRM to move into drm-misc to streamline the

Merge tag 'drm/tegra/for-6.4-rc1' of https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/tegra into drm-next

drm/tegra: Changes for v6.4-rc1

The majority of this is minor cleanups and fixes. Other than those, this
contains Uwe's conversion to the new driver remove callback and Thomas'
fbdev DRM client conversion. The driver can now also be built on other
architectures to easy compile coverage.

Finally, this adds Mikko as a second maintainer for the driver. As a
next step we also want Tegra DRM to move into drm-misc to streamline the
maintenance process.

2429b3c529 drm/tegra: Avoid potential 32-bit integer overflow
In tegra_sor_compute_config(), the 32-bit value mode->clock is
multiplied by 1000, and assigned to the u64 variable pclk. We can avoid
a potential 32-bit integer overflow by casting mode->clock to u64 before
we do the arithmetic and assignment.

71ec16f45e drm/tegra: Implement fbdev emulation as in-kernel client
Move code from ad-hoc fbdev callbacks into DRM client functions
and remove the old callbacks. The functions instruct the client
to poll for changed output or restore the display. The DRM core
calls both, the old callbacks and the new client helpers, from
the same places. The new functions perform the same operation as
before, so there's no change in functionality.

Replace all code that initializes or releases fbdev emulation
throughout the driver. Instead initialize the fbdev client by a
single call to tegra_fbdev_setup() after tegra has registered
its DRM device. As in most drivers, tegra's fbdev emulation now
acts like a regular DRM client.

The fbdev client setup consists of the initial preparation and the
hot-plugging of the display. The latter creates the fbdev device
and sets up the fbdev framebuffer. The setup performs display
hot-plugging once. If no display can be detected, DRM probe helpers
re-run the detection on each hotplug event.

A call to drm_dev_unregister() releases the client automatically.
No further action is required within tegra. If the fbdev
framebuffer has been fully set up, struct fb_ops.fb_destroy
implements the release. For partially initialized emulation, the
fbdev client reverts the initial setup.

3fb1f62f80 drm/fb-helper: Remove drm_fb_helper_unprepare() from drm_fb_helper_fini()
Move drm_fb_helper_unprepare() from drm_fb_helper_fini() into the
calling fbdev implementation. Avoids a possible stale mutex with
generic fbdev code.

As indicated by its name, drm_fb_helper_prepare() prepares struct
drm_fb_helper before setting up the fbdev support with a call to
drm_fb_helper_init(). In legacy fbdev emulation, this happens next
to each other. If successful, drm_fb_helper_fini() later tear down
the fbdev device and also unprepare via drm_fb_helper_unprepare().

Generic fbdev emulation prepares struct drm_fb_helper immediately
after allocating the instance. It only calls drm_fb_helper_init()
as part of processing a hotplug event. If the hotplug-handling fails,
it runs drm_fb_helper_fini(). This unprepares the fb-helper instance
and the next hotplug event runs on stale data.

Solve this by moving drm_fb_helper_unprepare() from drm_fb_helper_fini()
into the fbdev implementations. Call it right before freeing the
fb-helper instance.

900cd8f065 drm/tegra: Remove #ifdef guards for PM related functions
Use the RUNTIME_PM_OPS() and pm_ptr() macros to handle the
.runtime_suspend/.runtime_resume callbacks.

These macros allow the suspend and resume functions to be automatically
dropped by the compiler when CONFIG_PM is disabled, without having
to use #ifdef guards.

This has the advantage of always compiling these functions in,
independently of any Kconfig option. Thanks to that, bugs and other
regressions are subsequently easier to catch.

d5179020f5 gpu: host1x: External timeout/cancellation for fences
Currently all fences have a 30 second timeout to ensure they are
cleaned up if the fence never completes otherwise. However, this
one size fits all solution doesn't actually fit in every case,
such as syncpoint waiting where we want to be able to have timeouts
longer than 30 seconds. As such, we want to be able to give control
over fence cancellation to the caller (and maybe eventually get rid
of the internal timeout altogether).

Here we add this cancellation mechanism by essentially adding a
function for entering the timeout path by function call, and changing
the syncpoint wait function to use it.
