drm/sched: Rename DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_NOMINAL to DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_RESET
Among the scheduler's statuses, the only one that indicates an error is
DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_ENODEV. Any status other than DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_ENODEV
signifies that the operation succeeded and the GPU is in a nominal state.

However, to provide more information about the GPU's status, it is needed
to convey more information than just "OK".

Therefore, rename DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_NOMINAL to
DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_RESET, which better communicates the meaning of this
status. The status DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_RESET indicates that the GPU has
hung, but it has been successfully reset and is now in a nominal state
again.

drm/imagination: Fix kernel crash when hard resetting the GPU
The GPU hard reset sequence calls pm_runtime_force_suspend() and
pm_runtime_force_resume(), which according to their documentation should
only be used during system-wide PM transitions to sleep states.

The main issue though is that depending on some internal runtime PM
state as seen by pm_runtime_force_suspend() (whether the usage count is
<= 1), pm_runtime_force_resume() might not resume the device unless
needed. If that happens, the runtime PM resume callback
pvr_power_device_resume() is not called, the GPU clocks are not
re-enabled, and the kernel crashes on the next attempt to access GPU
registers as part of the power-on sequence.

Replace calls to pm_runtime_force_suspend() and
pm_runtime_force_resume() with direct calls to the driver's runtime PM
callbacks, pvr_power_device_suspend() and pvr_power_device_resume(),
to ensure clocks are re-enabled and avoid the kernel crash.

drm/imagination: Clear runtime PM errors while resetting the GPU
The runtime PM might be left in error state if one of the callbacks
returned an error, e.g. if the (auto)suspend callback failed following
a firmware crash.

When that happens, any further attempt to acquire or release a power
reference will then also fail, making it impossible to do anything else
with the GPU. The driver logic will eventually reach the reset code.

In pvr_power_reset(), replace pvr_power_get() with a new API
pvr_power_get_clear() which also attempts to clear any runtime PM error
state if acquiring a power reference is not possible.

2956554823 drm/sched: Store the drm client_id in drm_sched_fence
This will be used in a later commit to trace the drm client_id in
some of the gpu_scheduler trace events.

This requires changing all the users of drm_sched_job_init to
add an extra parameter.

The newly added drm_client_id field in the drm_sched_fence is a bit
of a duplicate of the owner one. One suggestion I received was to
merge those 2 fields - this can't be done right now as amdgpu uses
some special values (AMDGPU_FENCE_OWNER_*) that can't really be
translated into a client id. Christian is working on getting rid of
those; when it's done we should be able to squash owner/drm_client_id
together.

drm/imagination: Add reset controller support for GPU initialization
All IMG Rogue GPUs include a reset line that participates in the
power-up sequence. On some SoCs (e.g., T-Head TH1520 and Banana Pi
BPI-F3), this reset line is exposed and must be driven explicitly to
ensure proper initialization. On others, such as the currently
supported TI SoC, the reset logic is handled in hardware or firmware
without exposing the line directly. In platforms where the reset line is
externally accessible, if it is not driven correctly, the GPU may remain
in an undefined state, leading to instability or performance issues.

This commit adds a dedicated reset controller to the drm/imagination
driver. By managing the reset line (where applicable) as part of normal
GPU bring-up, the driver ensures reliable initialization across
platforms regardless of whether the reset is controlled externally or
handled internally.

The TI k3-j721s2 platform does not allow us to use uncached memory

Given the platform is dma-coherent, we can simply force all
device-accessible memory allocations through the CPU cache. In fact, this
can be done whenever the dma_coherent attribute is present.

drm/imagination: Handle Rogue safety event IRQs
Extend interrupt handling logic to check for safety event IRQs, then clear
and handle them in the IRQ handler thread.

Safety events need to be checked and cleared with a different set of GPU
registers than those the IRQ handler has been using so far.

Only two safety events need to be handled on the host: FW fault (ECC error
correction or detection) and device watchdog timeout. Handling right now
simply consists of clearing any error and logging the event. If either of
these events results in an unrecoverable GPU or FW, the driver will
eventually attempt to recover from it e.g. via pvr_power_reset().

Note that Rogue GPUs may send interrupts to the host for all types of
safety events, not just the two above. For events not handled by the host,
clearing the associated interrupt is sufficient.

redundant, remove them.

Interrupts to the host from the soon-to-be-added RISC-V firmware

using the threaded handler in GPUs with a RISC-V firmware.

For all Imagination Rogue GPUs, power domains are named "a", "b", etc. and

drm/imagination: Fix timestamps in firmware traces
When firmware traces are enabled, the firmware dumps 48-bit timestamps
for each trace as two 32-bit values, highest 32 bits (of which only 16
useful) first.

The driver was reassembling them the other way round i.e. interpreting
the first value in memory as the lowest 32 bits, and the second value
as the highest 32 bits (then truncated to 16 bits).

Due to this, firmware trace dumps showed very large timestamps even for
traces recorded shortly after GPU boot. The timestamps in these dumps
would also sometimes jump backwards because of the truncation.

Example trace dumped after loading the powervr module and enabling
firmware traces, where each line is commented with the timestamp value
in hexadecimal to better show both issues:

[93540092739584] : Host Sync Partition marker: 1 // 0x551300000000
[28419798597632] : GPU units deinit // 0x19d900000000
[28548647616512] : GPU deinit // 0x19f700000000

cb2e1c2136 drm: remove driver date from struct drm_driver and all drivers
We stopped using the driver initialized date in commit 7fb8af6798
("drm: deprecate driver date") and (eventually) started returning "0"
for drm_version ioctl instead.

Finish the job, and remove the unused date member from struct
drm_driver, its initialization from drivers, along with the common

e70140ba0d Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct
The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

  /*
   * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
   * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
   * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
   */

This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.

I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.

Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

drm/imagination: Break an object reference loop
When remaining resources are being cleaned up on driver close,
outstanding VM mappings may result in resources being leaked, due
to an object reference loop, as shown below, with each object (or
set of objects) referencing the object below it:

    PVR GEM Object
    GPU scheduler "finished" fence
    GPU scheduler “scheduled” fence
    PVR driver “done” fence
    PVR Context
    PVR VM Context
    PVR VM Mappings
    PVR GEM Object

The reference that the PVR VM Context has on the VM mappings is a
soft one, in the sense that the freeing of outstanding VM mappings
is done as part of VM context destruction; no reference counts are
involved, as is the case for all the other references in the loop.

To break the reference loop during cleanup, free the outstanding
VM mappings before destroying the PVR Context associated with the
VM context.

b2ef808786 drm/sched: add optional errno to drm_sched_start()
The current implementation of drm_sched_start uses a hardcoded
-ECANCELED to dispose of a job when the parent/hw fence is NULL.
This results in drm_sched_job_done being called with -ECANCELED for
each job with a NULL parent in the pending list, making it difficult
to distinguish between recovery methods, whether a queue reset or a
full GPU reset was used.

To improve this, we first try a soft recovery for timeout jobs and
use the error code -ENODATA. If soft recovery fails, we proceed with
a queue reset, where the error code remains -ENODATA for the job.
Finally, for a full GPU reset, we use error codes -ECANCELED or
-ETIME. This patch adds an error code parameter to drm_sched_start,
allowing us to differentiate between queue reset and GPU reset
failures. This enables user mode and test applications to validate
the expected correctness of the requested operation. After a
successful queue reset, the only way to continue normal operation is
to call drm_sched_job_done with the specific error code -ENODATA.

v1: Initial implementation by Jesse utilized amdgpu_device_lock_reset_domain
and amdgpu_device_unlock_reset_domain to allow user mode to track
the queue reset status and distinguish between queue reset and
    GPU reset.
v2: Christian suggested using the error codes -ENODATA for queue reset
and -ECANCELED or -ETIME for GPU reset, returned to
    amdgpu_cs_wait_ioctl.
v3: To meet the requirements, we introduce a new function
drm_sched_start_ex with an additional parameter to set
dma_fence_set_error, allowing us to handle the specific error
codes appropriately and dispose of bad jobs with the selected
error code depending on whether it was a queue reset or GPU reset.
v4: Alex suggested using a new name, drm_sched_start_with_recovery_error,
which more accurately describes the function's purpose.
Additionally, it was recommended to add documentation details
    about the new method.
v5: Fixed declaration of new function drm_sched_start_with_recovery_error.(Alex)
v6 (chk): rebase on upstream changes, cleanup the commit message,
drop the new function again and update all callers,
apply the errno also to scheduler fences with hw fences
v7 (chk): rebased

drm/imagination: Free pvr_vm_gpuva after unlink
This caused a measurable memory leak. Although the individual
allocations are small, the leaks occurs in a high-usage codepath
(remapping or unmapping device memory) so they add up quickly.
