The BIOS can leave the AUX power well enabled on an output, even if this
isn't required (on platforms where the AUX power is only needed for an
AUX access). This was observed at least on PTL. To avoid the WARN which
would be triggered by this during the HW readout, convert the WARN to a
debug message.

Use the cached max lane count value on LNL+, to account for scenarios
where this value is queried after the HW cleared the corresponding pin
assignment value in the TCSS_DDI_STATUS register after the sink got
disconnected.
For consistency, follow-up changes will use the cached max lane count
value on other platforms as well and will also cache the pin assignment
value in a similar way.

On LNL+ for a disconnected sink the pin assignment value gets cleared by
the HW/FW as soon as the sink gets disconnected, even if the PHY
ownership got acquired already by the BIOS/driver (and hence the PHY
itself is still connected and used by the display). During HW readout
this can result in detecting the PHY's max lane count as 0 - matching
the above cleared aka NONE pin assignment HW state. For a connected PHY
the driver in general (outside of intel_tc.c) expects the max lane count
value to be valid for the video mode enabled on the corresponding output
(1, 2 or 4). Ensure this by setting the max lane count to 4 in this
case. Note, that it doesn't matter if this lane count happened to be
more than the max lane count with which the PHY got connected and
enabled, since the only thing the driver can do with such an output -
where the DP-alt sink is disconnected - is to disable the output.

The PHY's pin assignment value in the TCSS_DDI_STATUS register - as set
by the HW/FW based on the connected DP-alt sink's TypeC/PD pin
assignment negotiation - gets cleared by the HW/FW on LNL+ as soon as
the sink gets disconnected, even if the PHY ownership got acquired
already by the driver (and hence the PHY itself is still connected and
used by the display). This is similar to how the PHY Ready flag gets
cleared on LNL+ in the same register.
To be able to query the max lane count value on LNL+ - which is based on
the above pin assignment - at all times even after the sink gets
disconnected, the max lane count must be determined and cached during
the PHY's HW readout and connect sequences. Do that here, leaving the
actual use of the cached value to a follow-up change.

The TypeC PHY HW readout during driver loading and system resume
determines which TypeC mode the PHY is in (legacy/DP-alt/TBT-alt) and
whether the PHY is connected, based on the PHY's Owned and Ready flags.
For the PHY to be in DP-alt or legacy mode and for the PHY to be in the
connected state in these modes, both the Owned (set by the BIOS/driver)
and the Ready (set by the HW) flags should be set.
On ICL-MTL the HW kept the PHY's Ready flag set after the driver
connected the PHY by acquiring the PHY ownership (by setting the Owned
flag), until the driver disconnected the PHY by releasing the PHY
ownership (by clearing the Owned flag). On LNL+ this has changed, in
that the HW clears the Ready flag as soon as the sink gets disconnected,
even if the PHY ownership was acquired already and hence the PHY is
being used by the display.
When inheriting the HW state from BIOS for a PHY connected in DP-alt
mode on which the sink got disconnected - i.e. in a case where the sink
was connected while BIOS/GOP was running and so the sink got enabled
connecting the PHY, but the user disconnected the sink by the time the
driver loaded - the PHY Owned but not Ready state must be accounted for
on LNL+ according to the above. Do that by assuming on LNL+ that the PHY
is connected in DP-alt mode whenever the PHY Owned flag is set,
regardless of the PHY Ready flag.
This fixes a problem on LNL+, where the PHY TypeC mode / connected state
was detected incorrectly for a DP-alt sink, which got connected and then
disconnected by the user in the above way.

This is a scripted split of the display related register macros from
i915_reg.h to display/intel_display_regs.h. As a starting point, move
all the macros that are only used in display code (or GVT). If there are
users in core i915 code or soc/, or no users anywhere, keep the macros
in i915_reg.h. This is done in groups of macros separated by blank
lines, moving the comments along with the groups.
Some manually picked macro groups are kept/moved regardless of the
heuristics above.
This is obviously a very crude approach. It's not perfect. But there are
4.2k lines in i915_reg.h, and its refactoring has ground to a halt. This
is the big hammer that splits the file to two, and enables further
cleanup.

It's not clear which encoder intel_dp_mst_encoder_active_links() refers
to (primary/stream), but there is also no reason to call the queried
property an encoder property; remove encoder from the name. Also it's
the number of MST streams being queried, vs. the number of MST links
(there is one MST link carrying one or more MST streams), so rename link
to stream as well.
While at it pass intel_dp to the function, which is more logical and
makes it easier to re-use the function later (without the need to get
the digital port pointer).
Also move the function earlier, next to the related ones.

There is a HW issue that arises when there are race conditions
between TCSS entering/exiting TC7 or TC10 states while the
driver is asserting/deasserting TCSS power request. As a
workaround, Display driver will implement a mailbox sequence
to ensure that the TCSS is in TC0 when TCSS power request is
asserted/deasserted.
The sequence is the following
1. Read mailbox command status and wait until run/busy bit is
clear
2. Write mailbox data value '1' for power request asserting
and '0' for power request deasserting
3. Write mailbox command run/busy bit and command value with 0x1
4. Read mailbox command and wait until run/busy bit is clear
before continuing power request.

Some registers for DDI A/B moved to PICA and now follow the same format
as the ones for the PORT_TC ports. The wrapper here deals with 2 issues:
- Share the implementation between xe2lpd and previous
platforms: there are minor layout changes, it's mostly the
register location that changed
- Handle offsets after TC ports

Glitches deasserting the connector HPD line can lead to incorrectly
detecting a disconnect event (a glitch asserting the line will only
cause a redundant connect->disconnect transition). The source of such a
glitch can be noise on the line or a 0.5ms-1ms MST IRQ_HPD pulse. TypeC
ports in the DP-alt or TBT-alt mode filter out these glitches inernally,
but for others the driver has to do this. Make it so by polling the HPD
line on these connectors for 4 ms.

Add hooks to intel_digital_port to lock and unlock the port and add a
helper to check the connector's detect status while the port is locked
already. This simplifies checking the connector detect status in
intel_dp_aux_xfer() and intel_digital_port_connected() in the next two
patches aborting AUX transfers on all DP connectors (except eDP) and
filtering HPD glitches.

When going through the disconnection flow we don't need to wait for PHY
readiness and hence we can skip the wait part. For disabling the function
returns false as an indicator that the power is not enabled. After all,
we are not even using the return value when Type-C is disconnecting.

Starting from display version 20, we need to read the pin assignment
from the IOM TCSS_DDI_STATUS register instead of reading it from the
FIA.
We use the pin assignment to decide the maximum lane count. So, to
support this change, add a new lnl_tc_port_get_max_lane_count() function
that reads from the TCSS_DDI_STATUS register and decides the maximum
lane count based on that.

If the output on a DP-alt link with its sink disconnected is kept
enabled for too long (about 20 sec), then some IOM/TCSS firmware timeout
will cause havoc on the PCI bus, at least for other GFX devices on it
which will stop powering up. Since user space is not guaranteed to do a
disabling modeset in time, switch such disconnected but active links to
TBT mode - which is without such shortcomings - with a 2 second delay.
If the above condition is detected already during the driver load/system
resume sanitization step disable the output instead, as at that point no
user space or kernel client depends on a consistent output state yet and
because subsequent atomic modeset on such connectors - without the
actual sink capabilities available - can fail.
An active/disconnected port as above will also block the HPD status of
other active/disconnected ports to get updated (stuck in the connected
state), until the former port is disabled, its PHY is disconnected and
a ~10 ms delay has elapsed. This means the link state for all TypeC
ports/CRTCs must be rechecked after a CRTC is disabled due to the above
reason. For this disconnect the PHY synchronously after the CRTC/port is
disabled and recheck all CRTCs for the above condition whenever such a
port is disabled.
To account for a race condition during driver loading where the sink is
disconnected after the above sanitization step and before the HPD
interrupts get enabled, do an explicit check/link reset if needed from
the encoder's late_register hook, which is called after the HPD
interrupts are enabled already.

Unlike previous platforms that used PORT_TX_DFLEXDPSP
for max_lane calculation, MTL uses only PORT_TX_DFLEXPA1
from which the max_lanes has to be calculated.

The HPD live status for MTL has to be read from different set of
registers. MTL deserves a new function for this purpose
and cannot reuse the existing HPD live status detection

Add register writes to enable powering up Type-C subsystem i.e. TCSS.
For MeteorLake we need to request TCSS to power up and check the TCSS
power state after 500 us.
In addition, for PICA we need to set/clear the Type-C PHY ownnership
bit when Type-C device is connected/disconnected.

Bspec has updated the TC connect/disconnect sequences, add the required
platform hooks for these.
The difference wrt. the old sequence is the order of taking the PHY
ownership - while holding a port power reference this requires - and
blocking the TC-cold power state.

Enable the power required for the HPD live status register access
instead of depending on the caller blocking the TC-cold power state
(during HW readout and connector probing).
A follow up patch will remove connecting/disconnecting the PHY around
connector probing, so querying the HPD status can happen in this case
without TC-cold being blocked.

The spec says to use the CPU ISR registers for DP-alt/TBT HPD detection

Add a hook for platform specific PHY initialization. Move the detection
of modular FIAs to the TGL handler, skipping this on ADLP+ where the
FIAs are always modular, not requiring a detection.

Simplify tc_cold_block()/unblock() by dropping their power domain
parameter. The power domain depends on the current TC mode, which -
after the previous patch - can't change while the PHY is connected,
holding a TC-cold-off power domain reference. Based on this the domain
can be deducted from the current TC mode instead of having to pass this
as a parameter.
Blocking TC-cold for the PHY HW readout happens before the current TC
mode is determined, so here the initial power domain must be still
manually passed.
For debugging still keep track of the domain used for tc_cold_block()
and verify that it remained the same until tc_cold_unblock().
While at it rename tc_cold_get_power_domain() to
tc_phy_cold_off_domain(), reflecting the name of platform specific hook
added in the next patch.

After the previous patch the TC mode in the connect/disconnect functions
is always in sync with the VBT legacy port flag, so for consistency with
the rest of the function check the TC mode instead of the VBT flag.

A follow-up patch simplifies the tc_cold_block()/unblock() functions,
dropping the power domain parameter. For this it must be ensured that
the power domain - which depends on the actual TC mode and so the VBT
legacy port flag - can't change while the PHY is in a connected state
and accordingly TC-cold is blocked. Make this so, by fixing up the VBT
legacy flag only in the disconnected TC mode, instead of whenever the
HPD state is retrieved.

Factor out a function verifying the PHY connected state in legacy or
DP-alt mode. This is common to all platforms, which can be reused in
platform specific connect hooks added in follow-up patches.

Add generic handlers to connect/disconnect a PHY.
Setting the TC mode to the target mode deducted from the HPD state and -
if connecting to this mode fails - falling back to connecting to the
default (TBT) mode are common to all platforms; move the logic for this
from the ICL specific connect / disconnect handlers to the generic ones.
