With DT properties charge-current-limit-gpios and
charge-current-limit-mapping one can define charge current limits in uA
using up to 32 GPIOs. Add property charge-current-limit-default-microamp
which selects a default charge current limit that must be listed in
charge-current-limit-mapping.
This is helpful when the smallest possible charge current limit is 0uA. The
driver defaults to the smallest possible value at the moment, which
disables charging on probe. With the default its possible to setup a safe
charge current limit.

The BQ24297 is identical to the BQ24296 except that it uses USB D+ / D-
data-lines for charger-type (max. input-current) detection instead of
a PSEL input pin.
This is the same difference as between the already supported BQ24190
(D+ / D-) and the BQ24192 (PSEL).

Add LTC4162-F/S and LTC4015 to the supported devices of LTC4162-L.
They share a common set of registers. The only differences lie in the
resolution value of the scaling factor for battery voltage and battery
current measurement, input voltage, and input current for different
battery chemistries. The differences also include the calculation of
setting and getting the actual voltage applied to the charge voltage,
as well as getting the die temperature.
This add compatible entries for ltc4162-f/s and ltc4015 and include
datasheets for new devices.

This release adds the devicetree files for an impressive number of new
SoC variants, though as expected these are all related to others we
already support:
- The microchip sam9x7 devicetree is now added, after the device driver
and platform code has already made it in. This is likely the last ARMv5
(!) platform to ever get added, updating the 20+ year old at91/sam9
platform wtih DDR3 memory and gigabit ethernet.
- On the Apple platform, there are now devicetree files for a number of
A-series SoCs in addition to the M-series ones, these are used
primarily in phones and tablets, but are closely related to the
already supported chips.
- Samsung Exynos 8895 and Exynos 990 are more phone SoCs used in older
Samsung Galaxy phones.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G (SM7325) is another phone SoC, closely related
to the Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 (SC7280) used in low-end laptops.
- Rockchip RK3528 and RK3576 are new variants of their TV box and Tablet
chips, still using the older ARMv8.0 cores from RK3328/RK3399 but
with a newer process and other improvements from the RK35xx (otherwise
ARMv8.2) chips. RK3566T and RK3399-S are also added, these are just
lower-cost versions of their normal counterparts.
- TI J742S2 is a feature-reduced version of the J784s4
industrial/automotive SoC, with fewer CPU cores.
- Sophgo SG2002 is an embedded SoC with one RISC-V (C906) and one ARM
(Cortex-A53) core, at this point support is only added for running
on the RISC-V side on the LicheeRV Nano board.
A total of 92 new .dts files describing individual machines is added,
which must be a new record. The majority of these is for the newly added
chips above, notably all the Apple phones and tablets. The other new
machines include nine industrial/embedded boards with NXP i.MX6 or i.MX8
SoCs, eight for Rockchips RK35XX and one or two each for Rockchips RV1109,
RK3308, Allwinner A33, Tegra 234, Qualcomm qcs9100/sc8280xp/x1e80100,
TI AM625 and Starfive JH7110.
As usual there are also many newlyad added features in existing boards
as well as cleanups and minor bugfixes.

Document the existing fsl,imx6sll-gpc compatible used with fsl,imx6q-gpc

Enabling dtc interrupt_provider check reveals the example is missing
the "interrupt-controller" property as it is a dependency of
"#interrupt-cells". However, the PMIC parent node is not an interrupt
controller at all, so the "#interrupt-cells" is erroneous.

The syscon-reboot binding used 'offset' for historical reasons. Having a
reg property is appropriate when these nodes are children of a MMIO bus.
Add a reg property and modify the constraints so that one of 'reg' or
'offset' is expected.

Use a fallback compatible since for especially for generic
defensive setup of parameters, both 6030 and 6032 are the same and
U-Boot actually uses a generic 6030/32 function to enable the

Convert the mfd: mediatek: mt6397 binding to DT schema format.
MT6323, MT6358, and MT6397 are PMIC devices with multiple function
subdevices. They share a common PMIC design but have variations in
subdevice combinations.
Key updates in this conversion:
1. RTC:
- Convert rtc-mt6397.txt and merge into parent MT6397 PMIC DT schema.
2. Regulators:
- Align to generic name "regulators".
- Update references from .txt to .yaml for mt6323, mt6358, and mt6397
regulators.
- Simplify regulator name labels in device tree examples.
3. Audio Codec:
- Simplify Audio Codec part with updating compatible items.
- Align to generic name "audio-codec" for codec and sound subdevices.
4. Clocks:
- Align to generic name "clocks" for clockbuffer subdevices.
5. LEDs:
- Convert leds-mt6323.txt and merge into parent MT6397 PMIC DT schema.
- Update LED binding.
6. Keys:
- Add detailed descriptions for power and home keys.
- Add compatible: mediatek,mt6358-keys.
7. Power Controller:
- Convert mt6323-poweroff.txt and merge into parent MT6397 PMIC DT
schema.
- Add #power-domain-cells property to fix dt-binding check error.
- Clarify "BBPU" as "Baseband power up".
8. Pinctrl:
- Align to generic name "pinctrl" instead of "pin-controller".
9. Compatible:
- Drop "mediatek,mt6357" since there is a separated DT Schema
for PMIC MT6357.
10. Examples:
- MT6323: Retain complete examples for this PMIC.
- MT6358 and MT6397: simplify settings in regulators.
- Preserve "audio-codec", "clocks", "pinctrl", "rtc", and "keys"
sections as they contain typical settings for different PMICs.
Additional updates:
- MAINTAINERS: Add co-maintainers and reference to
mfd/mediatek,mt6397.yaml for LED and power-controller drivers.
- input/mediatek,pmic-keys.yaml: Update reference to
mfd/mediatek,mt6397.yaml.

The driver updates seem larger this time around, with changes
is many of the SoC specific drivers, both the custom drivers/soc
ones and the closely related subsystems (memory, bus, firmware,
reset, ...).
The at91 platform gains support for sam9x7 chips in the soc and
power management code. This is the latest variant of one of the
oldest still supported SoC families, using the ARM9 (ARMv5) core.
As usual, the qualcomm snapdragon platform gets a ton of updates in many
of their drivers to add more features and additional SoC support. Most
of these are somewhat firmware related as the platform has a number of
firmware based interfaces to the kernel. A notable addition here is the
inclusion of trace events to two of these drivers.
Herve Codina and Christophe Leroy are now sending updates for
drivers/soc/fsl/ code through the SoC tree, this contains both PowerPC
and Arm specific platforms and has previously been problematic to
maintain. The first update here contains support for newer PowerPC
variants and some cleanups.
The turris mox firmware driver has a number of updates, mostly cleanups.
The Arm SCMI firmware driver gets a major rework to modularize
the existing code into separately loadable drivers for the various
transports, the addition of custom NXP i.MX9 interfaces and a
number of smaller updates.
The Arm FF-A firmware driver gets a feature update to support
the v1.2 version of the specification.
The reset controller drivers have some smaller cleanups and a newly
added driver for the Intel/Mobileye EyeQ5/EyeQ6 MIPS SoCs.
The memory controller drivers get some cleanups and refactoring
for Tegra, TI, Freescale/NXP and a couple more platforms.
Finally there are lots of minor updates to firmware (raspberry pi,
tegra, imx), bus (sunxi, omap, tegra) and soc (rockchips, tegra, amlogic,
mediatek) drivers and their DT bindings.

Pull SoC driver updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"The driver updates seem larger this time around, with changes is many
of the SoC specific drivers, both the custom drivers/soc ones and the
closely related subsystems (memory, bus, firmware, reset, ...).
The at91 platform gains support for sam9x7 chips in the soc and power
management code. This is the latest variant of one of the oldest still
supported SoC families, using the ARM9 (ARMv5) core.
As usual, the qualcomm snapdragon platform gets a ton of updates in
many of their drivers to add more features and additional SoC support.
Most of these are somewhat firmware related as the platform has a
number of firmware based interfaces to the kernel. A notable addition

commit 53ed3233e6 ("dt-bindings: input: qcom,pm8921-keypad: convert to
YAML format") resulted in a renaming of the output .txt file from
qcom,pm8xxx-keypad.txt to qcom,pm8921-keypad.yaml.
This patch makes a corresponding update to the link to that .txt file
in wakeup-source.txt.

The SC27XX fuel gauge supports a low voltage alarm IRQ, which is used
for more accurate battery capacity measurements with lower voltages.
This was unfortunately never documented in bindings, do so now.
The only in-tree user (sc2731.dtsi) has had interrupts specified
since its initial fuel-gauge submission and the current kernel
driver returns an error when no interrupt is specified, so also
add it to the required list.

The current PON example is a bit of a mess after converting the binding
document to yaml and in the process updating parts of the example to
match the pmk8350 binding while leaving parts from the older pm8998
example in place.
Clean up the example and make it consistent by adding some newline
separators; dropping labels; removing stray spaces; fixing the PON node
name; and fixing the unit address so that it matches the interrupt
specifiers (which re-encodes the PON base address, 0x800 => 0x8).

There was a recent part number update from SC8380XP to X1E80100 and as
a result of which the SC8380xp rpmpd bindings introduced is no longer
correct. Given that it currently has no users, it was agreed that it
can be updated to the correct part number (X1E80100) without causing
any binding breakage.

The MSM8917, MSM8937 and QM215 SoCs have VDDCX and VDDMX power domains
controlled in voltage level mode. Define the MSM8937 and QM215 power
domains as aliases because these SoCs are similar to MSM8917 and may
share some parts of the device tree.
Also add the compatibles for these SoCs to the documentation, with
qcom,msm8937-rpmpd using qcom,msm8917-rpmpd as a fallback compatible
because there are no known differences. QM215 is not compatible with
these because it uses different regulators.

The power-domains bindings has in many years been used to describe so
called performance-domains too. Rather than using a separate binding it has
been convenient to re-use the power-domain bindings, as in some cases it's
in fact a combination of the both that would be the best description.
Therefore, let's make it more clear that the power-domains bindings can be
used to describe a performance-domain too.

- Add support for generating DT nodes for PCI devices. This is the
groundwork for applying overlays to PCI devices containing
non-discoverable downstream devices.
- DT unittest additions to check reverted changesets, to test for
refcount issues, and to test unresolved symbols. Also, various
clean-ups of the unittest along the way.
- Refactor node and property manipulation functions to better share code
with old API and changeset API
- Refactor changeset print functions to a common implementation
- Move some platform_device specific functions into of_platform.c
Bindings:
- Treewide fixing of typos
- Treewide clean-up of SPDX tags to use 'OR' consistently
- Last chunk of dropping unnecessary quotes. With that, the check
for unnecessary quotes is enabled in yamllint.
- Convert ftgmac100, zynqmp-genpd, pps-gpio, syna,rmi4, and qcom,ssbi

Pull devicetree updates from Rob Herring:
"DT core:
- Add support for generating DT nodes for PCI devices. This is the
groundwork for applying overlays to PCI devices containing
non-discoverable downstream devices.
- DT unittest additions to check reverted changesets, to test for
refcount issues, and to test unresolved symbols. Also, various
clean-ups of the unittest along the way.
- Refactor node and property manipulation functions to better share
code with old API and changeset API
- Refactor changeset print functions to a common implementation
- Move some platform_device specific functions into of_platform.c
Bindings:
- Treewide fixing of typos
- Treewide clean-up of SPDX tags to use 'OR' consistently
- Last chunk of dropping unnecessary quotes. With that, the check for
unnecessary quotes is enabled in yamllint.
- Convert ftgmac100, zynqmp-genpd, pps-gpio, syna,rmi4, and qcom,ssbi
bindings to DT schema format
- Add Allwinner V3s xHCI USB, Saef SF-TC154B display, QCom SM8450
Inline Crypto Engine, QCom SM6115 UFS, QCom SDM670 PDC interrupt
controller, Arm 2022 Cortex cores, and QCom IPQ9574 Crypto bindings
- Fixes for Rockchip DWC PCI binding
- Ensure all properties are evaluated on USB connector schema
- Fix dt-check-compatible script to find of_device_id instances with
compiler annotations"

Compatible and clock handling in the Qualcomm SCM driver is cleaned up,
together with a couple stylistic cleanups and transition to mark
exported symbols GPL only.
An abstraction for the RPM subsystem is introduced, to make align the
structure of the SMD and GLINK nodes thereof with the structure when a
remoteproc is involved. This is done to facilitate associating
additional entities with the RPM subsystem.
The qmp_send() API is modified to not expose hardware requirements onto
the client drivers, and then further extended to allow command
formatting directly in the API, to facilitate this typical use case.
In the Qualcomm Command DB driver, NUL characters previously included in
identifiers are dropped from the debugfs, to facilitate scripting.
The thresholds of the BWMON driver are simplified to avoid hard coded
starting values.
The OCMEM driver is updated with some cleanups and fixes, and addition
of MSM8226 support.
PMIC_GLINK gains support for retimer switches, safe mode is selected
when the cable is disconnected from altmode and the same is enabled for
SM8550.
An off-by-one string length check is corrected in the QMI encoder
decoder library.
The RPMh tracepoints are extended to include the state of the request,
to provide needed context in the traced events.
The series from Ulf creating a genpd framework is integrated, to
facilitate the other changes to the cpr, rpmpd and rpmhpd driver.
SDX75 support is added to the rpmhpd driver, and the rpmpd driver is
extended with the same sync_state logic found in the rpmhpd driver.
The socinfo driver gains knowledge about SM4450 and SM7125, the IPQ5019
platform is dropped.
Clock handling in the GSBI driver is cleaned up with the use of
devm_clk_get_enabled().
The list of VMIDs defined for the SCM assign memory interface is
extended.

The biggest change this time is for the 32-bit devicetree files, which
are all moved to a new location, using separate subdirectories for each
SoC vendor, following the same scheme that is used on arm64, mips and
riscv. This has been discussed for many years, but so far we never did
this as there was a plan to move the files out of the kernel entirely,
which has never happened.
The impact of this will be that all external patches no longer apply,
and anything depending on the location of the dtb files in the build
directory will have to change. The installed files after 'make
dtbs_install' keep the current location.
There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along
with their device drivers.
* The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the time.
* Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip
* Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
supported for a long time.
* Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
the reference board.
* Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used
as a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.
* Alibaba T-Head TH1520 is a quad-core RISC-V chip based on the Xuantie

NXP i.MX8MM EVKB board and i.MX8MP based Gateworks Venice
gw7905-2x device.
* NVIDIA IGX Orin and Jetson Orin Nano boards, both based on

* Qualcomm gains support for 6 reference boards on various members
of their IPQ networking SoC series, as well as the Sony Xperia M4

Other changes to existing boards contain the usual minor improvements
along with
* continued updates to clean up dts files based on dtc warnings and
binding checks, in particular cache properties and node names
* support for devicetree overlays on at91, bcm283x

Merge tag 'soc-dt-6.5' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/soc/soc
Pull ARM SoC devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"The biggest change this time is for the 32-bit devicetree files, which
are all moved to a new location, using separate subdirectories for
each SoC vendor, following the same scheme that is used on arm64, mips
and riscv. This has been discussed for many years, but so far we never
did this as there was a plan to move the files out of the kernel
entirely, which has never happened.
The impact of this will be that all external patches no longer apply,
and anything depending on the location of the dtb files in the build
directory will have to change. The installed files after 'make
dtbs_install' keep the current location.
There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along with
their device drivers.
- The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the
time.
- Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip
- Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
supported for a long time.
- Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
the reference board.
- Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used as
a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.

Convert Microchip AT91 SAMA5D2 shutdown controller to YAML. SAMA7G5 SHDWC
DT node (available in arch/arm/boot/dts/sama7g5.dtsi) has syscon along with
its compatible. There is no usage of this syscon in the current code but it
may be necessary in future as some registers of SHDWC are accessed in
different drivers (at91-sama5d2_shdwc.c and arch/arm/mach-at91/pm.c).
Thus update the YAML with it to make DT checkers happy.

Most of these have been fixed already, so fix the handful that snuck in.
With this, a meta-schema check can be enabled to catch these
