The Aspeed pinctrl bindings are missing an additionalProperties/
unevaluatedProperties schemas on the child pin mux nodes which means any
undefined properties are allowed. In addition, using
'additionalProperties' for child nodes with any name works better than a
pattern matching everything with an if/then schema to select nodes only.
With 'additionalProperties' added, 'pins' and 'bias-disable'
properties need to be added as they were not defined. A $ref to
pinmux-node.yaml which defines the common property types was also
missing.

Update binding for yaml and remove the old related txt bindings. Note that
we are also adding the undocumented pinctrl-single,slew-rate property. And
we only use the first example from the old binding.
As we are mostly using a generic compatible across various SoCs, let's not
start adding matches for random pin group node naming. Let's standardize on
pin group node name ending in -pins with an optional instance number
suffix.
As a pin group may have additional pins added to it later on, let's always
use -pins rather than -pin for the gropu name.
Most of the dts files have been updated already for the pin group node
names with a few changes still pending.

Support for configuring these properties added in Xilinx ZynqMP Platform
Management firmware(PMUFW) Configuration Set version 2.0. Linux firmware
driver checks if the configuration is supported by the PMUFW when it gets
request for TRISTATE configuration from pinctrl driver. If it supports,
then calls will be made otherwise it returns error.

There are two new SoC families this time, and both appear fairly similar:
The Nuvoton MA35D1 and the STMicroelectronics STM32MP2 are both dual-core
Cortex-A35 based chips for the low-power industrial embedded market,
and they mark the first 64-bit product in a widely used family of 32-bit
Arm MCUs and SoCs.
The way into the kernel is completely different here: The team at ST has
a long history of working upstream with their STM32MP1 and other SoCs,
and they produced a complete port to arm64 together with the initial
announcement. Nuvoton also has multiple SoC product lines with current
or previous upstream support, but those are maintained by third parties
and are unrelated. The patch series from Nuvoton's Jacky Huang had to
go through many revisisions to get to this point and is still missing
a few drivers including the serial port for the moment.
The branch contains the devicetree files as well as all the code changes,
in order to have something that can be tested standalone.

The biggest change this time is for the 32-bit devicetree files, which
are all moved to a new location, using separate subdirectories for each
SoC vendor, following the same scheme that is used on arm64, mips and
riscv. This has been discussed for many years, but so far we never did
this as there was a plan to move the files out of the kernel entirely,
which has never happened.
The impact of this will be that all external patches no longer apply,
and anything depending on the location of the dtb files in the build
directory will have to change. The installed files after 'make
dtbs_install' keep the current location.
There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along
with their device drivers.
* The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the time.
* Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip
* Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
supported for a long time.
* Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
the reference board.
* Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used
as a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.
* Alibaba T-Head TH1520 is a quad-core RISC-V chip based on the Xuantie
C910 core, a step up from all previously added rv64 chips.
All of the above come with reference board implementations, those included
there are 39 new board files, but only five more 32-bit this time, probably
a new low:
* Marantec Maveo board based on dhcor imx6ull module
* Endian 4i Edge 200, based on the armv5 Marvell Kirkwood chip
* Epson Moverio BT-200 AR glasses based on TI OMAP4
* PHYTEC STM32MP1-3 Dev board based on STM32MP15 PHYTEC SOM
* ICnova ADB4006 board based on Allwinner A20
On the 64-bit side, there are also fewer addded machines than
we had in the recent releases:
* Three boards based on NXP i.MX8: Emtop SoM & Baseboard,
NXP i.MX8MM EVKB board and i.MX8MP based Gateworks Venice
gw7905-2x device.
* NVIDIA IGX Orin and Jetson Orin Nano boards, both based on
tegra234
* Qualcomm gains support for 6 reference boards on various members
of their IPQ networking SoC series, as well as the Sony Xperia M4
Aqua phone, the Acer Aspire 1 laptop, and the Fxtec Pro1X board
on top of the various reference platforms for their new chips.
* Rockchips support for several newer boards: Indiedroid Nova (rk3588),
Edgeble Neural Compute Module 6B (rk3588), FriendlyARM NanoPi R2C
Plus (rk3328), Anbernic RG353PS (rk3566), Lunzn Fastrhino R66S/R68S
(rk3568)
* TI K3/AM625 based PHYTEC phyBOARD-Lyra-AM625 board and Toradex Verdin
family with AM62 COM, carrier and dev boards
Other changes to existing boards contain the usual minor improvements
along with
* continued updates to clean up dts files based on dtc warnings and
binding checks, in particular cache properties and node names
* support for devicetree overlays on at91, bcm283x
* significant additions to existing SoC support on mediatek, qualcomm,
ti k3 family, starfive jh71xx, NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8, ST STM32MP1

commits.

There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along with
their device drivers.
- The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the
time.
- Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip
- Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
supported for a long time.
- Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
the reference board.
- Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used as
a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.
- Alibaba T-Head TH1520 is a quad-core RISC-V chip based on the
Xuantie C910 core, a step up from all previously added rv64 chips.
All of the above come with reference board implementations, those
included there are 39 new board files, but only five more 32-bit this
time, probably a new low:
- Marantec Maveo board based on dhcor imx6ull module
- Endian 4i Edge 200, based on the armv5 Marvell Kirkwood chip
- Epson Moverio BT-200 AR glasses based on TI OMAP4
- PHYTEC STM32MP1-3 Dev board based on STM32MP15 PHYTEC SOM
- ICnova ADB4006 board based on Allwinner A20
On the 64-bit side, there are also fewer addded machines than we had
in the recent releases:
- Three boards based on NXP i.MX8: Emtop SoM & Baseboard, NXP i.MX8MM
EVKB board and i.MX8MP based Gateworks Venice gw7905-2x device.
- NVIDIA IGX Orin and Jetson Orin Nano boards, both based on tegra234
- Qualcomm gains support for 6 reference boards on various members of
their IPQ networking SoC series, as well as the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua
phone, the Acer Aspire 1 laptop, and the Fxtec Pro1X board on top
of the various reference platforms for their new chips.
- Rockchips support for several newer boards: Indiedroid Nova
(rk3588), Edgeble Neural Compute Module 6B (rk3588), FriendlyARM
NanoPi R2C Plus (rk3328), Anbernic RG353PS (rk3566), Lunzn
Fastrhino R66S/R68S (rk3568)
- TI K3/AM625 based PHYTEC phyBOARD-Lyra-AM625 board and Toradex
Verdin family with AM62 COM, carrier and dev boards
Other changes to existing boards contain the usual minor improvements
along with
- continued updates to clean up dts files based on dtc warnings and
binding checks, in particular cache properties and node names
- support for devicetree overlays on at91, bcm283x
- significant additions to existing SoC support on mediatek,
qualcomm, ti k3 family, starfive jh71xx, NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8, ST
STM32MP1

The "qcom, paired" schema is all wrong. First, it's a list rather than an
object(dictionary). Second, it is missing a required type. The meta-schema
normally catches this, but schemas under "$defs" was not getting checked.
A fix for that is pending.

Core changes:
- Make a lot of pin controllers with GPIO and irqchips immutable,
i.e. not living structs, but const structs. This is driving a
changed initiated by the irqchip maintainers.
New drivers:
- New driver for the NXP S32 SoC pin controller
- As part of a thorough cleanup and restructuring of the
Ralink/Mediatek drivers, the Ralink MIPS pin control drivers
were folded into the Mediatek directory and the family is
renamed "mtmips". The Ralink chips live on as Mediatek MIPS
family where new variants can be added. As part of this work
also the device tree bindings were reworked.
- New subdriver for the Qualcomm SM7150 SoC.
- New subdriver for the Qualcomm IPQ9574 SoC.
- New driver for the nVidia BlueField-3 SoC.
- Support for the Qualcomm PMM8654AU mixed signal circuit GPIO.

Improvements:
- Add some missing pins and generic cleanups on the Renesas
r8a779g0 and r8a779g0 pin controllers. Generic Renesas
extension for power source selection on several SoCs.
- Misc cleanups for the Atmel AT91 and AT91-PIO4 pin

In the patch ("dt-bindings: pinctrl: qcom: tlmm should use
output-disable, not input-enable") we allowed setting "output-disable"
for TLMM pinctrl states. Let's also add "output-enable".
At first blush this seems a needless thing to do. Specifically:
- In Linux (and presumably any other OSes using the same device trees)
the GPIO/pinctrl driver knows to automatically enable the output
when a GPIO is changed to an output. Thus in most cases specifying
"output-enable" is superfluous and should be avoided.
- If we need to set a pin's default state we already have
"output-high" and "output-low" and these properties already imply
"output-enabled" (at least on the Linux Qualcomm TLMM driver).
However, there is one instance where "output-enable" seems like it
could be useful: sleep states. It's not uncommon to want to configure
pins as inputs (with appropriate pulls) when the driver controlling
them is in a low power state. Then we want the pins back to outputs
when the driver wants things running normally. To accomplish this we'd
want to be able to use "output-enable". Then the "default" state could
have "output-enable" and the "sleep" state could have
"output-disable".
NOTE: in all instances I'm aware of, we'd only want to use
"output-enable" on pins that are configured as "gpio". The Qualcomm
documentation that I have access to says that "output-enable" only
does something useful when in GPIO mode.

As evidenced by the Qualcomm TLMM Linux driver, the TLMM IP block in
Qualcomm SoCs has a bit to enable/disable the output for a pin that's
configured as a GPIO but _not_ a bit to enable/disable an input
buffer. Current device trees that are specifying "input-enable" for
pins managed by TLMM are either doing so needlessly or are using it to
mean "output-disable".
Presumably the current convention of using "input-enable" to mean
"output-disable" stems from the fact that "output-disable" is a "new"
property from 2017. It was introduced in commit 425562429d
("pinctrl: generic: Add output-enable property"). The "input-enable"
handling in Qualcomm drivers is from 2015 introduced in commit
407f5e392f ("pinctrl: qcom: handle input-enable pinconf property").
Given that there's no other use for "input-enable" for TLMM, we can
still handle old device trees in code, but let's encourage people to
move to the proper / documented property by updating the bindings.

Qualcomm pinctrl Devicetree bindings changes for v6.3, part two
Several minor cleanups and fixes on Qualcomm pin controller Devicetree
bindings - add missing input-disable, correct GPIO pin name patterns in
bindings, correct number of GPIOs in gpio-ranges property.
Add bindings for the MT7981 pinctrl driver. As MT7981 has most features
in common with MT7986 (but has a different layout in terms on pinctrl
and clocks), the existing mediatek,mt7986-pinctrl.yaml was used as an
example to create a similar document covering MT7981.

Qualcomm pinctrl Devicetree bindings changes for v6.3
Set of cleanups and fixes for Qualcomm pin controller bindings, to match
existing DTS and correct the schema.
The child node name patterns in Mediatek pinctrl bindings don't match
reality. I don't know where '-[0-9]+$' came from, but I don't see any nodes
with a matching pattern. Also, patterns such as 'pins' or 'mux' are
ambiguous because any prefix or suffix is allowed. If that's desired, it
should be explicit.

Pull pin control updates from Linus Walleij:
"The two large chunks is the header clean-up from Andy and the Qualcomm
DT bindings clean-up from Krzysztof. Each which could give rise to
conflicts, but I haven't seen any.
The YAML conversions happening around the device tree is the biggest
item in the series and is the result of Rob Herrings ambition to
autovalidate these trees against strict schemas and it is paying off
in lots of bugs found and ever prettier device trees. Sooner or later
the transition will be complete, Krzysztof is fixing up all of the
Qualcomm stuff, which is pretty voluminous.
Core changes:
- minor but nice and important documentation clean-ups
New drivers:
- subdriver for the Qualcomm SDM670 SoC
- subdriver for the Intel Moorefield SoC
- trivial support for the NXP Freescale i.MXRT1170 SoC
Other changes and improvements
- major clean-up of the Qualcomm pin control device tree bindings by
Krzysztof
- major header clean-up by Andy
- some immutable irqchip clean-up for the Actions Semiconductor and
Nuvoton drivers
- GPIO helpers for The Cypress cy8c95x0 driver
- bias handling in the Mediatek MT7986 driver
- remove the unused pins-are-numbered concept that never flew"

The devicetree changes contain exactly 1000 non-merge changesets,
including a number of new arm64 SoC variants from Qualcomm and Apple,
as well as the Renesas r9a07g043f/u chip in both arm64 and riscv variants
While we have occasionally merged support for non-arm SoCs in the past,
this is now the normal path for riscv devicetree files.
The most notable changes, by SoC platform, are:
- The Apple T6000 (M1 Pro), T6001 (M1 Max) and T6002 (M2 Ultra)
chips now have initial support. This is particularly nice as I am
typing this on a T6002 Mac Studio with only a small number of driver
patches.
- Qualcomm MSM8996 Pro (Snapdragon 821), SM6115 (Snapdragon 662), SM4250
(Snapdragon 460), SM6375 (Snapdragon 695), SDM670 (Snapdragon 670),
MSM8976 (Snapdragon 652) and MSM8956 (Snapdragon 650) are all mobile
phone chips that are closely related to others we already support.
Adding those helps support more phones and we add several models
from Sony (Xperia 10 IV, 5 IV, X, and X compact), OnePlus (One, 3,
3T, and Nord N100), Xiaomi (Poco F1, Mi6), Huawei (Watch) and Google
(Pixel 3a). There are also new variants of the Herobrine and Trogdor
chromebook motherboards. SA8540P is an automotive SoC used in the
Qdrive-3 development platform
- Rockchips gains no new SoC variants, but a lot of new boards:
three mobile gaming systems based on RK3326 Odroid-Go/rg351 family,
two more Anbernic gaming systems based on RK3566 and a number of
other RK356x based single-board computers.
- Renesas RZ/G2UL (r9a07g043) was already supported for arm64, but as
the newly added RZ/Five is based on the same design, this now gets
reorganized in order to share most of the dts description between
the two and add the RZ/Five SMARC EVK board support.
Aside from that, there are the usual changes all over the tree:
- New boards on other platforms contain two ASpeed BMC users, two
Broadcom based Wifi routers, Zyxel NSA310S NAS, the i.MX6 based Kobo
Aura2 ebook reader, two i.MX8 based development boards, two Uniphier
Pro5 development boards, the STM32MP1 testbench board from DHCOR,
the TI K3 based BeagleBone AI-64 board, and the Mediatek Helio X10
based Sony Xperia M5 phone.
- The Starfive JH7100 source gets reorganized in order to support the
VisionFive V1 board.
- Minor updates and cleanups for Intel SoCFPGA, Marvell PXA168,
TI, ST, NXP, Apple, Broadcom, Juno, Marvell MVEBU, at91, nuvoton,
Tegra, Mediatek, Renesas, Hisilicon, Allwinner, Samsung, ux500,
spear, ... The treewide cleanups now have a lot of fixes for cache
nodes and other binding violoations.
- Somewhat larger sets of reworks for NVIDIA Tegra, Qualcomm
and Renesas platforms, adding a lot more on-chip device support
- A rework of the way that DTB overlays are built.

Tegra194 has two separate instances of the pin controller, one called
AON (in the always-on domain) and another called "main". Instead of
treating them as a single pin controller, split them up into two
separate controllers. Doing so allows the mapping between the pinmux and
GPIO controllers to be trivial identity mappings and more cleanly
separates the AON from the main IP blocks.
Note that while this changes the DT node in an incompatible way, this
doesn't have any practical implications for backwards-compatibility. The
reason for this is that device trees have only reconfigured a very
narrow subset of pins of the main controller, so the new driver will
remain backwards-compatible with old device trees.

2. Refactor existing DT schema bindings to be consistent and similar to
each other, remove unneeded pieces (provided by common bindings) and
unify the style.
2. Fix matching of the existing DT schema bindings, so they properly
validate the DTS. When looking for pin configuration (children
nodes), be specific and expect "state" or "pins" suffixes (depending
on the nesting. This allows the schema later to properly parse also
GPIO hogs, although it is not yet implemented. The changes require
aligning the DTS to new layout, but it does not break any
compatibility.

Qualcomm pinctrl Devicetree bindings changes for v6.2
Big set of refactoring and improving Qualcomm pin controller bindings:
1. Convert several bindings from TXT to DT schema format: MDM9615,
MSM8974, MSM8994, MSM8996, MSM8998, SC7180, SDM630, SDM845, SM8150.
Convert Qualcomm SC7180 pin controller bindings to DT schema. Keep the
parsing of pin configuration subnodes consistent with other Qualcomm
schemas (children named with '-state' suffix, their children with
'-pins').

The TLMM pin controller follows generic pin-controller bindings, so
should have subnodes with '-state' and '-pins'. Otherwise the subnodes
(level one and two) are not properly matched. This method also unifies
the bindings with other Qualcomm TLMM and LPASS pinctrl bindings.
The change causes indentation decrement, so the diff-hunk looks big, but
there are no functional changes in the subnode "properties" section.
The only difference there is removal of blank lines between common GPIO
pinconf properties.

using these pinctrl properties can cause system hang because there is
missing feature autodetection.
