b119194090 dt-bindings: pinctrl: st,stm32: fix phandle-array warning
make CHECK_DTBS=y st/stm32f469-disco.dtb

brings up a warning about a missing argument:

stm32f469-disco.dtb: pinctrl@40020000: st,syscfg:0: [21, 8] is too short

The description of the third entry indicates that this entry is optional.
The code in stm32_pctrl_dt_setup_irq parses st,syscfg and treats the third
entry as optional. It defaults to 0xf if not present in the devicetree.

Update the schema to require at least two entries, use the same syntax as
the description of renesas,ipmmu-main in
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/iommu/renesas,ipmmu-vmsa.yaml.

39bd2b6a37 dt-bindings: Improve phandle-array schemas
The 'phandle-array' type is a bit ambiguous. It can be either just an
array of phandles or an array of phandles plus args. Many schemas for
phandle-array properties aren't clear in the schema which case applies
though the description usually describes it.

The array of phandles case boils down to needing:

items:
  maxItems: 1

The phandle plus args cases should typically take this form:

items:
  - items:
      - description: A phandle
      - description: 1st arg cell
      - description: 2nd arg cell

With this change, some examples need updating so that the bracketing of
property values matches the schema.

3d21a46093 dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that
any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct
form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed
in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other
keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the
tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works.

This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this
treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax.

Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups. Some minor whitespace
changes from the script.

7f464532b0 dt-bindings: Add missing 'additionalProperties: false'
Setting 'additionalProperties: false' is frequently omitted, but is
important in order to check that there aren't extra undocumented
properties in a binding.

Ideally, we'd just add this automatically and make this the default, but
there's some cases where it doesn't work. For example, if a common
schema is referenced, then properties in the common schema aren't part
of what's considered for 'additionalProperties'. Also, sometimes there
are bus specific properties such as 'spi-max-frequency' that go into
bus child nodes, but aren't defined in the child node's schema.

So let's stick with the json-schema defined default and add
'additionalProperties: false' where needed. This will be a continual
review comment and game of wack-a-mole.

4b6fffe7a4 dt-bindings: pinctrl: stm32: Fix 'st, syscfg' description field
As there is only one item "st,syscfg" this commit moves phandle description
fields under "description" tag. It'll fix a validation issue seen during
stm32 DT check.

626633425c dt-bindings: pinctrl: stm32: Fix 'st,syscfg' schema
The proper way to add additional contraints to an existing json-schema
is using 'allOf' to reference the base schema. Using just '$ref' doesn't
work. Fix this for the 'st,syscfg' property.

e2297f7c3a dt-bindings: pinctrl: stm32: Fix missing 'clocks' property in examples
Now that examples are validated against the DT schema, an error with
required 'clocks' property missing is exposed:

Documentation/devicetree/bindings/pinctrl/st,stm32-pinctrl.example.dt.yaml: \
pinctrl@40020000: gpio@0: 'clocks' is a required property
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/pinctrl/st,stm32-pinctrl.example.dt.yaml: \
pinctrl@50020000: gpio@1000: 'clocks' is a required property
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/pinctrl/st,stm32-pinctrl.example.dt.yaml: \
pinctrl@50020000: gpio@2000: 'clocks' is a required property

Add the missing 'clocks' properties to the examples to fix the errors.

15ffef1ae6 dt-bindings: Ensure child nodes are of type 'object'
Properties which are child node definitions need to have an explict
type. Otherwise, a matching (DT) property can silently match when an
error is desired. Fix this up tree-wide. Once this is fixed, the
meta-schema will enforce this on any child node definitions.
