fecfd01539 Updates for 5.12-rc1. Besides usual fixes and new drivers, we are
changing CLASS_FLASH to return success to make it easier to work with
V4L2 stuff disabled, and we are getting rid of enum that should have
been plain integer long time ago. I'm slightly nervous about potential
warnings, but it needed to be fixed at some point.

9183908e70 dt-bindings: Fix errors in 'if' schemas
Properties in if/then schemas weren't getting checked by the meta-schemas.
Enabling meta-schema checks finds several errors.

The use of an 'items' schema (as opposed to the list form) is wrong in
some cases as it applies to all entries. 'contains' is the correct schema
to use in the case of multiple entries.

d69c6ddd01 dt-bindings: Fix JSON pointers
The correct syntax for JSON pointers begins with a '/' after the '#'.
Without a '/', the string should be interpreted as a subschema
identifier. The jsonschema module currently doesn't handle subschema
identifiers and incorrectly allows JSON pointers to begin without a '/'.
Let's fix this before it becomes a problem when jsonschema module is
fixed.

Converted with:
perl -p -i -e 's/yaml#definitions/yaml#\/definitions/g' `find Documentation/devicetree/bindings/ -name "*.yaml"`

The example was adapted in the following ways:

- make use of the now supported 'function' and 'color' properties
- remove pwm nodes, those are documented elsewhere
- align node names to new dt schema rules and dt recommendations

License was not explicitly set before. The license set now is

e5467b672b dt-bindings: leds: cznic,turris-omnia-leds: fix error in binding
There is a bug in the device tree binding for cznic,turris-omnia-leds
which causes make dt_binding_check to complain.

The reason is that the multi-led property binding's regular expression
does not contain the `@` character, while the example nodes do.

Fix this, and also adjust the maximum address to 'b' as there are 12

e4a7b2dc35 LEDs changes for 5.9-rc1.
Okay, so... this one is interesting. RGB LEDs are very common, and we
need to have some kind of support for them. Multicolor is for
arbitrary set of LEDs in one package, RGB is for LEDs that can produce
full range of colors. We do not have real multicolor LED that is not
RGB in the pipeline, so that one is disabled for now.

You can expect this saga to continue with next pull requests.

086e9074f5 dt-bindings: Remove more cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'
Another round of 'allOf' removals that came in this cycle.

json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that
any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct
form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed
in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other
keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the
tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works.

This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this
treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax.

3d21a46093 dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that
any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct
form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'.

Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups. Some minor whitespace
changes from the script.

7f464532b0 dt-bindings: Add missing 'additionalProperties: false'
Setting 'additionalProperties: false' is frequently omitted, but is
important in order to check that there aren't extra undocumented
properties in a binding.

Ideally, we'd just add this automatically and make this the default, but
there's some cases where it doesn't work. For example, if a common
schema is referenced, then properties in the common schema aren't part
of what's considered for 'additionalProperties'. Also, sometimes there
are bus specific properties such as 'spi-max-frequency' that go into
bus child nodes, but aren't defined in the child node's schema.

So let's stick with the json-schema defined default and add
'additionalProperties: false' where needed. This will be a continual
review comment and game of wack-a-mole.

ef4db28c1f dt-bindings: backlight: lm3630a: correct schema validation
The '#address-cells' and '#size-cells' properties were not defined in
the lm3630a bindings and would cause the following error when
attempting to validate the examples against the schema:

Documentation/devicetree/bindings/leds/backlight/lm3630a-backlight.example.dt.yaml:
'#address-cells', '#size-cells' do not match any of the regexes:
'^led@[01]$', 'pinctrl-[0-9]+'

Correct this by adding those two properties.

While we're here, move the ti,linear-mapping-mode property to the
led@[01] child nodes to correct the following validation error:

1372bbe66a dt-bindings: ti-lmu: Modify dt bindings for the LM3697
The LM3697 is a single function LED driver. The single function LED
driver needs to reside in the LED directory as a dedicated LED driver
and not as a MFD device. The device does have common brightness and ramp
features and those can be accomodated by a TI LMU framework.

The LM3697 dt binding needs to be moved from the ti-lmu.txt and a dedicated
LED dt binding needs to be added. The new LM3697 LED dt binding will then
reside in the Documentation/devicetree/bindings/leds directory and follow the
current LED and general bindings guidelines.

6ccc7435fa dt: lm3532: Add lm3532 dt doc and update ti_lmu doc
Add the lm3532 device tree documentation.
Remove lm3532 device tree reference from the ti_lmu devicetree
documentation.

With the addition of the dedicated lm3532 documentation the device
can be removed from the ti_lmu.txt.

The reason for this is that the lm3532 dt documentation now defines
the ability to control LED output strings against different control
banks or groups multiple strings to be controlled by a single control
bank.

Another addition was for ALS lighting control and configuration. The
LM3532 has a feature that can take in the ALS reading from 2 separate
ALS devices and adjust the brightness on the strings that are configured
to support this feature.

Finally the device specific properties were moved to the parent node
as these properties are not control bank configurable. These include
the runtime ramp and the ALS configuration.

Improve the binding example by removing all the leading zeros to fix the
following dtc warnings:

Warning (unit_address_format): Node /XXX unit name should not have leading 0s

Converted using the following command:

75f9f7279e dt: bindings: as3645a: Use LED number to refer to LEDs
Use integers (reg property) to tell the number of the LED to the driver
instead of the node name. While both of these approaches are currently
used by the LED bindings, using integers will require less driver changes
for ACPI support. Additionally, it will make possible LED naming using
chip and LED node names, effectively making the label property most useful
for human-readable names only.

80dc6e1cd8 dt-bindings: leds: document new trigger-sources property
Some LEDs can be related to a specific device(s) described in the DT.
This property allows specifying such relations. E.g. USB LED should
usually be used to indicate some USB port(s) state.

Please note this binding is designed to be generic and not influenced by
any operating system design. Linux developers may find "trigger" part a
bit confusing since in Linux triggers are separated drivers. It
shouldn't define the binding though (we shouldn't add an extra level of
indirection).

the existing ones which received following comment from Rob:
> It's not really clear in the example this is an LED node as it is
> incomplete.

Keeping that in mind I suggest adding context for the existing example
entries in hope to make documentation more clear.

6025530738 backlight: lp855x: Add enable regulator
The LP8556 datasheet describes an EN/VDDIO input, which serves "both as
a chip enable and as a power supply reference for PWM, SDA, and SCL
inputs." The LP8556 that I'm testing doesn't respond properly if I try
to talk I2C to it too quickly after enabling VDDIO, and the LP8555
datasheet mentions a t_RESPONSE delay of up to 1 millisecond.

Support this EN/VDDIO by adding a regulator property to the binding;
enabling this regulator at probe time; and sleeping for 1 to 2ms, if the
EN/VDDIO regulator was provided.

f7fafd083c leds: leds-ns2: move LED modes mapping outside of the driver
On the board n090401 (Seagate NAS 4-Bay), the LED mode mapping (GPIO
values to LED mode) is different from the one used on other boards
supported by the leds-ns2 driver.

With this patch the hardcoded mapping is removed from leds-ns2. Now,
it must be defined either in the platform data (if an old-fashion board
setup file is used) or in the DT node. In order to allow the later, this
patch also introduces a modes-map property for the leds-ns2 DT binding.

84ad6e5cd3 leds/powernv: Add driver for PowerNV platform
This patch implements LED driver for PowerNV platform using the existing
generic LED class framework.

PowerNV platform has below type of LEDs:
  - System attention
Indicates there is a problem with the system that needs attention.
  - Identify
Helps the user locate/identify a particular FRU or resource in the
      system.
  - Fault
Indicates there is a problem with the FRU or resource at the
location with which the indicator is associated.

We register classdev structures for all individual LEDs detected on the
system through LED specific device tree nodes. Device tree nodes specify
what all kind of LEDs present on the same location code. It registers
LED classdev structure for each of them.

All the system LEDs can be found in the same regular path /sys/class/leds/.
We don't use LED colors. We use LED node and led-types property to form
LED classdev. Our LEDs have names in this format.

        <location_code>:<attention|identify|fault>

Any positive brightness value would turn on the LED and a zero value would
turn off the LED. The driver will return LED_FULL (255) for any turned on
LED and LED_OFF (0) for any turned off LED.

The platform level implementation of LED get and set state has been
achieved through OPAL calls. These calls are made available for the
driver by exporting from architecture specific codes.

8465b01827 leds: pca9633: Add hardware blink support
Add hardware blinking support to the pca9633 driver.

NOTE: Hardware blinking violates the leds infrastructure
driver interface since the hardware only supports
blinking all LEDs with the same delay_on/delay_off
rates. That is, only the LEDs that are set to blink
will actually blink but all LEDs that are set to blink
will blink in identical fashion. The delay_on/delay_off
values of the last LED that is set to blink will be used
for all of the blinking LEDs. If the hardware doesn't
support the requested blinking pattern, a default of
500ms on and off will be used.

Hardware blinking is disabled by default but can be enabled
by setting the 'blink_type' member in the platform_data
struct to 'PCA9633_HW_BLINK' or by adding the 'nxp,hw-blink'
property to the DTS.

12514aa0e6 devicetree: Move NS2 LEDs binding into LEDs directory
leds-ns2.txt is a binding for LEDs, not GPIOs. Move the documentation in
with the rest of the LEDs bindings.

08541cbcc7 leds: leds-pwm: Add device tree bindings
The DT binding for the pwm-leds devices are similar to the gpio-leds type.
LEDs are represented as sub-nodes of the pwm-leds device.
The code for handling the DT boot is based on the code found in the
leds-gpio driver and adapted to use PWMs instead of GPIOs.
To avoid having custom cleanup code in case of DT boot the newly created
devm_of_pwm_get() API is used to get the correct PWM instance.

For usage see:

f67605394f devicetree/bindings: Move gpio-leds binding into leds directory
Merely reorganizing documentation. No functional changes. It makes more
sense for the gpio-leds binding to be grouped with other led bindings
than with gpio drivers.

07c121149c Documentation: Move common leds properties description to separate file.
There are several drivers that use LEDs and depend on exactly the same
device tree binding. However, the binding documentation has simply been
cut-and-paste into each of the binding documents. Rather than continue
to duplicate it, this patch adds a common led binding document that all
can reference.
