5654d37268 dt-bindings: firmware: arm, scmi: Introduce more transport properties
Depending on specific hardware and firmware design choices, it may be
possible for different platforms to end up having different requirements
regarding the same transport characteristics.

Introduce max-msg-size and max-msg properties to describe such platform
specific transport constraints, since they cannot be discovered otherwise.

7d2b23fda9 dt-bindings: firmware: Add i.MX95 SCMI Extension protocol
Add i.MX SCMI Extension protocols bindings for:
- Battery Backed Module(BBM) Protocol
This contains persistent storage (GPR), an RTC, and the ON/OFF button.
The protocol can also provide access to similar functions implemented via
  external board components.
- MISC Protocol.
This includes controls that are misc settings/actions that must be
exposed from the SM to agents. They are device specific and are usually
define to access bit fields in various mix block control modules,
IOMUX_GPR, and other GPR/CSR owned by the SM.

e11c480b6d dt-bindings: firmware: arm,scmi: Extend bindings for protocol@13
The protocol@13 node is describing the performance scaling option for the
ARM SCMI interface, as a clock provider. This is unnecessary limiting, as
performance scaling is in many cases not limited to switching a clock's
frequency.

Therefore, let's extend the binding so the interface can be modelled as a
generic performance domain too. The common way to describe this, is to use
the power-domain DT bindings, so let's use that.

92ac94f7e1 dt-bindings: firmware: arm, scmi: Support mailboxes unidirectional channels
SCMI defines two kinds of communication channels between the agent and the
platform: one bidirectional 'a2p' channel used by the agent to send SCMI
commands and synchronously receive the related replies, and an optional
'p2a' unidirectional channel used to asynchronously receive delayed
responses and notifications emitted from the platform.

When configuring an SCMI transport based on mailboxes, the current binding
supports only mailboxes providing bidirectional channels: in such a case
one mailbox channel can be easily assigned to each SCMI channel as above
described.

In case, instead, to have to deal with mailboxes providing only distinct
unidirectional channels, it becomes necessary to extend the binding in
order to be able to bind 2 distinct unidirectional mailbox channels to the
same SCMI 'a2p' channel.

Bidirectional and unidirectional channels support for the SCMI mailbox
transport can coexist by carefully considering the effective combination
of defined 'mboxes' and 'shmem' descriptors.

Merge tag 'devicetree-for-5.18' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/robh/linux

Pull devicetree updates from Rob Herring:

 - Add Krzysztof Kozlowski as co-maintainer for DT bindings providing
   much needed help.

 - DT schema validation now takes DTB files as input rather than
intermediate YAML files. This decouples the validation from the
source level syntax information. There's a bunch of schema fixes as a
result of switching to DTB based validation which exposed some errors
   and incomplete schemas and examples.

 - Kbuild improvements to explicitly warn users running 'make
   dt_binding_check' on missing yamllint

 - Expand DT_SCHEMA_FILES kbuild variable to take just a partial
filename or path instead of the full path to 1 file.

 - Convert various bindings to schema format: mscc,vsc7514-switch,
multiple GNSS bindings, ahci-platform, i2c-at91, multiple UFS
   bindings, cortina,gemini-sata-bridge, cortina,gemini-ethernet, Atmel
SHA, Atmel TDES, Atmel AES, armv7m-systick, Samsung Exynos display
   subsystem, nuvoton,npcm7xx-timer, samsung,s3c2410-i2c, zynqmp_dma,
   msm/mdp4, rda,8810pl-uart

 - New schemas for u-boot environment variable partition, TI clksel

 - New compatible strings for Renesas RZ/V2L SoC

 - Vendor prefixes for Xen, HPE, deprecated Synopsys, deprecated
   HiSilicon

 - Add/fix schemas for QEMU Arm 'virt' machine

 - Drop unused of_alias_get_alias_list() function

 - Add a script to check DT unittest EXPECT message output. Pass
messages also now print by default at PR_INFO level to help test
   automation.

0539884ccc dt-bindings: firmware: arm,scmi: Add atomic-threshold-us optional property
SCMI protocols in the platform can optionally signal to the OSPM agent
the expected execution latency for a specific resource/operation pair.

Introduce an SCMI system wide optional property to describe a global time
threshold which can be configured on a per-platform base to determine the
opportunity, or not, for an SCMI command advertised to have a higher
latency than the threshold, to be considered for atomic operations:
high-latency SCMI synchronous commands should be preferably issued in the
usual non-atomic mode.

39bd2b6a37 dt-bindings: Improve phandle-array schemas
The 'phandle-array' type is a bit ambiguous. It can be either just an
array of phandles or an array of phandles plus args. Many schemas for
phandle-array properties aren't clear in the schema which case applies
though the description usually describes it.

The array of phandles case boils down to needing:

items:
  maxItems: 1

The phandle plus args cases should typically take this form:

items:
  - items:
      - description: A phandle
      - description: 1st arg cell
      - description: 2nd arg cell

With this change, some examples need updating so that the bracketing of
property values matches the schema.
