3b0bca9793 dt-bindings: ata: Convert arasan,cf-spear1340 to DT schema
Convert the Arasan/SPEAr Compact Flash Controller to DT schema format.

The "clock-frequency" property isn't actually used. Add a single
"clocks" entry as the Linux driver supports a single clock though the
platform still doesn't have clocks in DT.

6130ed3cd0 dt-bindings: ata: Convert marvell,orion-sata to DT schema
Convert the Marvell Orion SATA Controller to DT schema format.

The clocks and clock-names properties were missing. The names for
phy-names were incorrect. The maximum "nr-ports" was determined from the
Linux driver.

2de72bb42c dt-bindings: ata: Convert st,ahci to DT schema
Convert the ST AHCI SATA Controller to DT schema format.

The phy-names changes from "ahci_phy" to "sata-phy" with the inclusion
of ahci-common.yaml. That's an ABI change, but the Linux driver at least
ignores the names. The binding uses "ports-implemented" property, so
including ahci-common.yaml is required.

2f24482304 soc: devicetree updates for 6.15
There is new support for additional on-chip devices on Apple, Mediatek,
Renesas, Rockchip, Samsung, Google, TI, ST, Nvidia and Amlogic devices.

The Arm Morello reference platform gets a devicetree for booting in
normal aarch64 mode. The hardware supports experimental CHERI support,
 which requires a modified kernel.

The AMD (formerly Xilinx) Versal NET SoC gets added, this is a combined
FPGA with Cortex-A78 CPUs in a SoC.

Six new ST STM32MP2 SoC variants are added. Like the earlier STM32MP25,
 the MP211, MP213, MP215, MP231, MP233 and MP235 models are based on one
or two Cortex-A35 cores but each feature a different set of I/O devices.

Mediatek MT8370 is a minor variation of MT8390 with fewer CPU and
 GPU cores

Apple T2 is the baseboard management controller on earlier Intel CPU
based Macs, with 16 models now gaining initial support.

All the above come with dts files for the reference boards. In
addition, these boards are added for the SoCs that are already supported.

  - The Milk-V Jupiter board based on SpacemiT K1/M1

  - NetCube Systems Kumquat board based on the 32-bit Allwinner V3s SoC

  - Three boards based on 32-bit stm32mp1

  - 11 distinct board variants from Toradex and one from Variscite,
    all based on i.MX6

f0ceedd52a dt-bindings: xilinx: Deprecate header with firmware constants
Firmware contants do not fit the purpose of bindings because they are not
independent IDs for abstractions. They are more or less just contants which
better to wire via header with DT which is using it.
That's why add deprecated message to dt binding header and also update
existing dt bindings not to use macros from the header and replace them by
it's value. Actually value is not relevant because it is only example.

The similar changes have been done by commit 9d92925768 ("dt-bindings:
pinctrl: samsung: deprecate header with register constants").

- Do not enable LPM for external ports (hotplug-capable ports or eSATA
ports), as the HBA will not be able to detect hot plug removal events
when LPM is enabled. (from me)

  - Drop the board type board_ahci_low_power. Now when we make sure that we
won't enable LPM for external ports, we can always set the LPM policy to
CONFIG_SATA_MOBILE_LPM_POLICY for internal ports. There is thus no
longer any need for the board type board_ahci_low_power, so it can be
removed. (As before, LPM features not supported by the HBA and/or the
device will not be enabled, regardless of the LPM policy Kconfig.)
    (from Mario Limonciello)

Note that the default CONFIG_SATA_MOBILE_LPM_POLICY value is still 0
(which will not try to enable any LPM features), however, most Linux
distributions override this and set it to 3 (Medium power with DIPM).
We intend to change the default to 3 in the coming cycles, but we will
    wait a cycle or two.

  - Add board type board_ahci_pcs_quirk and make all legacy Intel platforms

platforms, which caused some issues (the device failing to come back
after a reset), when being applied to newer Intel platforms where it
shouldn't have been applied. Add board type board_ahci_pcs_quirk and
make legacy Intel platforms use it. New platforms can be added using
board type board_ahci (which will not have the quirk applied).

6c1561fb90 ARM: SoC devicetree updates for 6.5
The biggest change this time is for the 32-bit devicetree files, which
are all moved to a new location, using separate subdirectories for each
SoC vendor, following the same scheme that is used on arm64, mips and
riscv. This has been discussed for many years, but so far we never did
this as there was a plan to move the files out of the kernel entirely,
 which has never happened.

The impact of this will be that all external patches no longer apply,
and anything depending on the location of the dtb files in the build
directory will have to change. The installed files after 'make
 dtbs_install' keep the current location.

There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along
 with their device drivers.

 * The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the time.

 * Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip

 * Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
   supported for a long time.

 * Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
   the reference board.

 * Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used
as a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
   the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.

 * Alibaba T-Head TH1520 is a quad-core RISC-V chip based on the Xuantie
C910 core, a step up from all previously added rv64 chips.

All of the above come with reference board implementations, those included
there are 39 new board files, but only five more 32-bit this time, probably
 a new low:

 * Marantec Maveo board based on dhcor imx6ull module

 * Endian 4i Edge 200, based on the armv5 Marvell Kirkwood chip

 * Epson Moverio BT-200 AR glasses based on TI OMAP4

 * PHYTEC STM32MP1-3 Dev board based on STM32MP15 PHYTEC SOM

 * ICnova ADB4006 board based on Allwinner A20

On the 64-bit side, there are also fewer addded machines than
we had in the recent releases:

 * Three boards based on NXP i.MX8: Emtop SoM & Baseboard,
NXP i.MX8MM EVKB board and i.MX8MP based Gateworks Venice
   gw7905-2x device.

 * NVIDIA IGX Orin and Jetson Orin Nano boards, both based on
   tegra234

 * Qualcomm gains support for 6 reference boards on various members
of their IPQ networking SoC series, as well as the Sony Xperia M4
Aqua phone, the Acer Aspire 1 laptop, and the Fxtec Pro1X board
on top of the various reference platforms for their new chips.

 * Rockchips support for several newer boards: Indiedroid Nova (rk3588),
Edgeble Neural Compute Module 6B (rk3588), FriendlyARM NanoPi R2C
   Plus (rk3328), Anbernic RG353PS (rk3566), Lunzn Fastrhino R66S/R68S
   (rk3568)

 * TI K3/AM625 based PHYTEC phyBOARD-Lyra-AM625 board and Toradex Verdin
family with AM62 COM, carrier and dev boards

Other changes to existing boards contain the usual minor improvements
 along with

 * continued updates to clean up dts files based on dtc warnings and
binding checks, in particular cache properties and node names

 * support for devicetree overlays on at91, bcm283x

 * significant additions to existing SoC support on mediatek, qualcomm,
   ti k3 family, starfive jh71xx, NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8, ST STM32MP1

As usual, a lot more detail is available in the individual merge
 commits.

  dtbs_install' keep the current location.

There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along with
  their device drivers.

   - The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the
     time.

   - Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip

   - Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
     supported for a long time.

   - Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
     the reference board.

   - Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used as
a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
     the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.

   - Alibaba T-Head TH1520 is a quad-core RISC-V chip based on the
Xuantie C910 core, a step up from all previously added rv64 chips.

All of the above come with reference board implementations, those
included there are 39 new board files, but only five more 32-bit this
  time, probably a new low:

   - Marantec Maveo board based on dhcor imx6ull module

   - Endian 4i Edge 200, based on the armv5 Marvell Kirkwood chip

   - Epson Moverio BT-200 AR glasses based on TI OMAP4

   - PHYTEC STM32MP1-3 Dev board based on STM32MP15 PHYTEC SOM

   - ICnova ADB4006 board based on Allwinner A20

On the 64-bit side, there are also fewer addded machines than we had
  in the recent releases:

   - Three boards based on NXP i.MX8: Emtop SoM & Baseboard, NXP i.MX8MM
EVKB board and i.MX8MP based Gateworks Venice gw7905-2x device.

   - NVIDIA IGX Orin and Jetson Orin Nano boards, both based on tegra234

   - Qualcomm gains support for 6 reference boards on various members of
their IPQ networking SoC series, as well as the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua
phone, the Acer Aspire 1 laptop, and the Fxtec Pro1X board on top
of the various reference platforms for their new chips.

   - Rockchips support for several newer boards: Indiedroid Nova
(rk3588), Edgeble Neural Compute Module 6B (rk3588), FriendlyARM
     NanoPi R2C Plus (rk3328), Anbernic RG353PS (rk3566), Lunzn
     Fastrhino R66S/R68S (rk3568)

   - TI K3/AM625 based PHYTEC phyBOARD-Lyra-AM625 board and Toradex
Verdin family with AM62 COM, carrier and dev boards

Other changes to existing boards contain the usual minor improvements
  along with

   - continued updates to clean up dts files based on dtc warnings and
binding checks, in particular cache properties and node names

   - support for devicetree overlays on at91, bcm283x

   - significant additions to existing SoC support on mediatek,
qualcomm, ti k3 family, starfive jh71xx, NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8, ST
     STM32MP1

As usual, a lot more detail is available in the individual merge

064f14e9df dt-bindings: ata: ahci: Add Baikal-T1 AHCI SATA controller DT schema
Baikal-T1 AHCI controller is based on the DWC AHCI SATA IP-core v4.10a
with the next specific settings: two SATA ports, cascaded CSR access based
on two clock domains (APB and AXI), selectable source of the reference
clock (though stable work is currently available from the external source
only), two reset lanes for the application and SATA ports domains. Other
than that the device is fully compatible with the generic DWC AHCI SATA
bindings.

5c640beccb dt-bindings: ata: ahci: Add DWC AHCI SATA controller DT schema
Synopsys AHCI SATA controller is mainly compatible with the generic AHCI
SATA controller except a few peculiarities and the platform environment
requirements. In particular it can have at least two reference clocks to
feed up its AHB/AXI interface and SATA PHYs domain and at least one reset
control for the application clock domain. In addition to that the DMA
interface of each port can be tuned up to work with the predefined maximum
data chunk size. Note unlike generic AHCI controller DWC AHCI can't have
more than 8 ports. All of that is reflected in the new DWC AHCI SATA
device DT binding.

Note the DWC AHCI SATA controller DT-schema has been created in a way so
to be reused for the vendor-specific DT-schemas (see for example the
"snps,dwc-ahci" compatible string binding). One of which we are about to
introduce.

03f1076fbe dt-bindings: ata: ahci: Add platform capability properties
In case if the platform doesn't have BIOS or a comprehensive firmware
installed then the HBA capability flags will be left uninitialized. As a
good alternative we suggest to define the DT-properties with the AHCI
platform capabilities describing all the HW-init flags of the
corresponding capability register. Luckily there aren't too many of them.
SSS - Staggered Spin-up support and MPS - Mechanical Presence Switch
support determine the corresponding feature availability for the whole HBA
by means of the "hba-cap" property. Each port can have the "hba-port-cap"
property initialized indicating that the port supports some of the next
functionalities: HPCP - HotPlug capable port, MPSP - Mechanical Presence
Switch attached to a port, CPD - Cold Plug detection, ESP - External SATA
Port (eSATA), FBSCP - FIS-based switching capable port.

2ea4d52ad1 dt-bindings: ata: sata-brcm: Apply common AHCI schema
The Broadcom SATA controller is obviously based on the AHCI standard. The
device driver uses the kernel AHCI library to work with it. Therefore we
can be have a more thorough DT-bindings evaluation by referring to the
AHCI-common schema instead of using the more relaxed SATA-common one.
